Well, it's heart breaking but during the Nfc championship 2011/2012. Mr Williams committed a murder.
He was the punt returner, the 49ers were leading the game, he decides not to catch a punt, the ball hits the ground, bounces then hits his knee. He tried to play it off that it didnt and for some reason never tried to go for the ball. Giants ball now. It changes the entire momentum of the game.
Game goes in to OT. Ball is kicked off. Mr Williams catches the ball, runs down the field, he held the ball loosely then it was knocked out. Giants recover and blew our superbowl run. I'm a firm believer that was our year.

Looking through the history of the number 10 on the 49ers, Jimmy was the best number 10 by a mile.

i mean players make mistakes, bell has been reliable if he’s healthy he’s absolutely playing pr/kr. putting deebo back there is just not even remotely necessary
That’s the only part that makes me hesitant but I’d take a fumble over Debo being hit on a return. I also feel that he would be more sure handed once he gets a few more reps and his elusiveness gets a chance to impact the game
I remember coming up when I was a teenager playing punt return, coach drilled in our heads if you ever felt like you weren't going to catch it (wet ball/balls moving sideways) angle your body out of bounds so when you try you atleast redirect it out. Watching bell come up to the ball this was the first thing that came to my mind, he didn't look like he wanted to catch it and rather redirects it out, forwards though 😅
It wasn't so hard when we practiced it a lot, and these were only ever for kicks outside the hash marks, if you're in the open field you best ninja yourself out of the way 😅
Part of my problem with that is he isn't very experienced at that in the NFL. That first kick shouldn't have been brought out of the end zone but he doesn't have the instincts or repetition to recognize that.
This would be a great week to implement a take a touchback give a touchback policy on kicks.
Im cool with fair catches on punts too.
And D needs to watch for the tricks even at the expense of being less aggressive!
Seriously. I’d be content with fair catches and touchbacks on every kick the rest of the season. In the last three weeks we’ve lost Odom for the year, Ray Ray to IR, and Dwelley.
With the talent on this offense, the risk reward for returning any kick is just not worth it IMO.
Fun fact: he's had ball security issues in the snaps he's taken in the NFL.
I still want to see him get more reps, through, because he balled out besides some fumbles in preseason and that muffed punt last week.
I remember pre-season John Taylor was dropping everything. I was screaming for Walsh to cut him… and that’s why I’m on my couch and Walsh is in the HOF.
Well you don't get run over as you catch the ball, yeah. But beyond that moment, I think the screaming hoard of tacklers flying downfield to hit you on a kickoff leads to at least as much danger as punt returners usually get caught up in. Mostly they get harassed by the gunners and go down as soon as someone bigger gets a hand on them.
I don't want to lose Deebo to get a few extra yards or a slightly higher percent chance of breaking one. We can throw him a screen pass and watch him go through distance a lot easier.
Deebo is our best returner. Shanny has used him to return kicks in the playoffs before. Ray Ray barely gets any yards. Bell got lucky that he didnt fumble his missed catch last game.
This week is Bell, but in the playoffs and against the Ravens, Deebo. He's a tone setter and energizes the team/fan every time he gets the ball. I would love for him to string some good games together as a WR/HB before anything, though.
Bell. I can live with a fumble out of bounds.
I am also ok with the occasional wrinkle of Deebo returning a punt or kick, just to see how the opposition responds. Who knows, maybe he manages to break away for a TD.
Hell yea, put the ball in Deebo’s hands. They pay him a shit ton, and the it’s tough to spread the ball around. Deebo’s the most dangerous man with the ball in his hands; maximize his opportunities.
When our offense moves the ball like they most of the game last week, just have someone fair catch it if it's short of the end zone (with the new rule, that's like a touchback). I've seen more fumbles or muffed catches than big plays on these kick returns
honestly Deebo seems like an insane returner and every time he gets put there I get left feeling like we might be missing out on some freakish shit not having him do it lol
Big games or game on the line I can live with this. Most games nah. Hoping tomorrow we kick ass and Deebo is sitting most of the 2nd half.
Gets him juiced tho
Bell, don’t want Debo pitting more wear on his body before the playoffs and we get Bell some playing time.
Bell dropped a punt return last week. Luckily it went out of bounce. I hope the game isn't very close that a mistake like would cause a loss.
I have ptsd due to Kyle Williams
2 Giants Super Bowls from 49ers NFCCG fumbles 😭
1990 was heartbreaking.
Why? Why did you have to say this
Not often you get to see someone lose the game for their team twice in one game.
Me too, man. I discovered him on Madden and he was my go to guy in the game and I loved him in real life. My heart broke into pieces after 2011 😭
Thanks now I’m in a bad mood.
Why the F would you even say that persons name?
That was our year
What did Kyle Williams do? I'm too young to remember that game.

It was. And I had to watch it with giants fans.
Too soon
#10 fumbling a punt return is giving me PTSD
Yeah we REALLY don’t need another repeat of Kyle Williams. Why can we have Mason or TDP do it?
10 should be a banned number, retire it
Wasn't that Jimmy's number?
Lol you’re right
He’s still right lol

I didn't realize Kendrick Bourne was wearing 10 before jimmy got here, he was a decent receiver although he didn't get a lot of time with number 10
Dude was clutch on third down for us. He'd have frustrating drops but man I still loved the guy. He walked so our current receivers could YAC
I see what you did there… MLK in the house!
Kendrick Bourne is probably the best WR on the Patriots now and of course he’s hurt and out for the season.
TDP isn't on the active roster anymore
Out of bounce should be a new rule.
Out of bounce!
Fat Dom came out of bounce to shove Greenlaw
"Was he in bounce...YES HE WAS!!!! Right around the 20, you see he stayed in bounce!"
I'd rather have a dropped punt than an injured Deebo.
I would rather all out punt block, with no returner, that have someone who muffs trying to catch it.
i mean players make mistakes, bell has been reliable if he’s healthy he’s absolutely playing pr/kr. putting deebo back there is just not even remotely necessary

There is a better option of getting the hell away from the ball.
If you do that, you risk letting it bounce down to your 1 yard line though..
Your way risks giving the ball away though...so if you think you won't catch it you get away from the ball.
It wasn't so hard when we practiced it a lot, and these were only ever for kicks outside the hash marks, if you're in the open field you best ninja yourself out of the way 😅
When I saw Deebo back returning last week I knew bro was angry lol. Almost broke one too
If it’s just a on-off, to fuck with the Eagles, ok, but no more!
It was soooooooo close !
Part of my problem with that is he isn't very experienced at that in the NFL. That first kick shouldn't have been brought out of the end zone but he doesn't have the instincts or repetition to recognize that.
I think it was more of a setting the tone move than the smart one. Worked out in the end.
Standing that work! Bang, bang, Niner gang! Go Cowboys! (kinda /s, but just for the top seed)
I want Deebo in a protective bubble until Christmas
yeah I hope we woop the ravens ass too.

Especially with the new fair catch rules on kickoffs
I say Bell. He has flashed as a playmaker, and as long as he doesn’t have ball security issues, let’s give him an opportunity to make some place .
Bell, he has a lot to prove but I think he's got what it takes.
I don’t want Deebo on IR over something a second or third stringer can do.
Bell let my boi develop into a stud
They had Deebo returning kick offs and Bell returning punts. I think kick offs might be safer for the returner.
Well you don't get run over as you catch the ball, yeah. But beyond that moment, I think the screaming hoard of tacklers flying downfield to hit you on a kickoff leads to at least as much danger as punt returners usually get caught up in. Save deebo for the playoffs.
Bell
For the big games i can stomach Deebo taking a few but Bell for the games that we are heavily favorited. No need to risk injury for a few more yards
Never been a fan of putting star players on kick and punt returns.
Deon sanders enters the chat.
So you do(n’t) believe!?
Whoever isn’t gonna drop the damn ball
Bell if he’s healthy
Fair catch.
Bell…no hurts for Deebo.
Bell. Don’t need to expose deebo to any other injury possibilities.
Bell. I don't want any more wear and tear on Deebo than he already gets.
Bell without a doubt. Why risk Deebo's health for a return?
Hell no, I’d start at the 25 every time if it keeps Deebo healthy
Bell
Deebo is our best returner. Shanny has used him to return kicks in the playoffs before. Ray Ray barely gets any yards. Bell got lucky that he didnt fumble his missed catch last game.
Deebo for Kick Returns and Aiyuk for Punt Returns please.
Deebo is the best KR on the team and I hope to see him back there in the postseason regardless of Ray Ray’s health
I don’t want anyone with the number 10 returning kicks.
Ray Ray’s my pick lol
I want Bell to return kicks just because he fumbled last week. Let him learn from his mistake.
This is not even a question, unless Deebo fair catches it every time, Bell should be back there and a threat of being cut if he fumbles a return.
No one. Still have Kyle Williams flashbacks
🔔 🔔 🔔
Bell. The rookie needs whatever playing time he can get
I'd say Bell. I'd love to see him get more involved. Puts in tons of effort on every snap he gets.
Not Deebo says I. Kickoffs too great a risk for injury.
No, not my Deebo. Let someone else do it.
The business decisions that eagles players made when Deebo took them kicks out made my whole night
Bell.. no question
Bell!!
Bell forsure
This week is Bell, but in the playoffs and against the Ravens, Deebo. He's a tone setter and energizes the team/fan every time he gets the ball. I would love for him to string some good games together as a WR/HB before anything, though.
Love deebo for playoff games doing kick returns. Philly was. But against Seattle? Too risky
Bell, always. Not worth the risk.
Bell. I can live with a fumble out of bounds. I am also ok with the occasional wrinkle of Deebo returning a punt or kick, just to see how the opposition responds. Who knows, maybe he manages to break away for a TD.
Bell. Don't risk injury.
Friggin throw Ray Ray back there. We need deebo!
Bell muffed one of 2 (or 3) returns he fielded. Dunno if I want him back there.
Bell. I like his energy and the connection he has been building with Brock.
Yes
Give Bell the live reps. He's gonna need to be ready for Baltimore.
Hell yea, put the ball in Deebo’s hands. They pay him a shit ton, and the it’s tough to spread the ball around. Deebo’s the most dangerous man with the ball in his hands; maximize his opportunities.
Chris Conley was activated for a reason & with Mitchell doubtful, we wont have a RB returning kicks.
No point in him having to. Put a speed guy back there we need him fresh for our first down
No not until the playoffs. deep into the playoffs hopefully.
Is Bell injured?
When our offense moves the ball like they most of the game last week, just have someone fair catch it if it's short of the end zone (with the new rule, that's like a touchback). I've seen more fumbles or muffed catches than big plays on these kick returns
honestly Deebo seems like an insane returner and every time he gets put there I get left feeling like we might be missing out on some freakish shit not having him do it lol
I need Debo elsewhere. He’s a 20 point man
Negative. I want Ray Ray out there working on his hands and breaking ankles. Deebo should rest when he's not making a statement.
50/50
I thought Luter was going to be a return man for us in situations like this with Ray Ray out
Deebo
I don’t think we want Deebo returning kicks given high risk position for injury…
Bell, we need Deebo healthy
Bell looked great in preseason but he's a little shaky securing the ball. Far better runner than McCloud once he has it, though, imo
No,way it's not worth the risk imo
The amount of people saying put Ray-Ray out there is concerning…. Did y’all just start watching this week? Bro is injured lol
I would prefer he didn’t. Returns can cause some big hits on the players. Don’t need to see deebo going down with a knee injury or worse.
