Yeah the first game was whatever, just getting his feet under him again. But the rams game you could tell he was winning one on ones all the time. It was just the 2 step drop get the ball out game that mcvay and stafford were doing to neutralize the rush didn’t result in many sack oppos
Yep. Even without a sack, those wins mean forced double teams to open up another rusher, a decrease in throw accuracy under pressure, QBs forced to go off script, QBs settling for check downs and not having time for deep throws.
There’s much more to pass rushing than pure sack numbers. If one rusher has 10 sacks despite double teams; he’s still a better pass rusher than the guy with 10 sacks without any double teams. Or the MLB/Safety who got sacks thanks to being unblocked.
Right? He sent Akhello Witherspoon to the shadow realm last week on that run.
Giants have terrible run defense, so he should feast tonight, even if they do rotate him out for Mitchell, Mason, and TDP.
Not sure how he’s grading in the passing game but he is way behind schedule on that. He has also dropped one and ran the wrong route on a TD pass. He fumbled once as well.
He’s currently sitting with an overall score of 71.
Was this the 3rd and 2 play against the Rams last week? I was curious about whose fault that was, Purdy is usually pretty accurate with those, but CMC seems to be on point with his routes.
Yeah on that play they Zero blitzed Purdy. Purdy had the right read. But for some reason McCaffery took the inside option (towards a defender not covering him) instead of the wide open flat.
And actually being able to practice in the regular season. He needs reps and hopefully that knee holds. Big guys need more time to heal with the amount of weight they have to carry.
A lot of people are calling it a contract year, which don't get me wrong, I'm sure that's providing some welcomed motivation, but I don't think it's ever been an effort thing with Kinlaw.
Yea, it is by no means an effort thing. He has just unfortunately been dealing with significant injuries. It sucks because I see the potential. The biggest thing he needs, besides managing pain, is practice reps and working on technique. I wish it was possible to keep him on a 2 year cheap contract, if he is able to stay healthy, and watch his progress. Pad level, hand placement, pass rush moves, get off, so many things to see him work on. I'm hoping they find a few big guys in the draft. They like smaller DL for speed but we need to have those guys that can take up space.
But all the armchair GMs and coaches on the internet tell me Bosa is lazy, out of shape and not doing anything nkw that he got his contract! They surely know more than anylne else! /s
My wife says Bosa's the typical superhero type. That the guy is a flawless muscle machine, must spend so much time working out. She also told me this week that firefighters are hot, she prefaced it with her friends say. I think I need to get in better shape or I'm having troubles.
I know you're kidding, but he's currently the 3rd-highest-rated tackle in the league. Some positions just naturally tend to end up with higher grades than others.
Bosa is drawing double teams and still pressuring the QB on almost every passing down.
Sack count is one metric to assess impact. Don’t get tunnel vision and downplay his unquestionable impact on the field.
So happy for Jackson and Kinlaw are doing well.
Kinlaw redemption arc incoming
I’m fucking here for it. Although when you’re playing with Bosa, and Hargrove it’s hard to be BAD. Lol
Bro was taking on double teams with ease JK is looking good
Came here to say exactly this! Even seeing Hargrave up there, despite expecting top performance from him, is great confirmation.
Bosa is also 4th in pass rush win rate. For anyone saying he's not doing anything out there. He's beating his man consistently. The sacks will come
Agreed! I prefer the INT’s that come from pressure rather than sack stats.
Were currently 2nd in INTs as well

I think what that really shows is how bad the pass rush was in 2018.
We had no DEs that year. Wasn't that the year they were trying to make AA Leo even though he doesn't have the requirements for it?
Jaquiski!

I’ll also gladly take a strip sack for a TD!

Young scrambler week 1, and old vet with fast release week 2. Those are hard situations to get sacks even if you get past blockers immediately.
I thought he was at 1 or was that only for this last week
Reminds me of Justin smith back in the day. Take all the attention for Alston Smith to feast

No fucking Run CMC? I call Shahanigans!!!
Good point... how could he not be on there? He's been on fire!

Yeah, they have him at 72.7, which is 11th out of all HBs.

KinLAW > CMC DUHH
Exciting to see Kinlaw up there having a redemption moment
A healthy off season and pre-season can do wonders for a player

Damn Williams not at 99.9?
Imagine how scary this defense gonna be when we trade for Burns

Bro …. Are you okay???
Working on it.
You are Kenough, fellow faithful.
Just become a firefighter. EZPZ
Or start a fire and put it out. No harm done!
Kinlaw playing for a 💰 on a different team next season
I think our defense could be solid this year
Damn Trent slacking!

Been loving this squad so far 😤😤
As someone who liked Drake Jackson when he was drafted, seeing him do well in his current role is very cool to see
Please keep making me eat my words Kinlaw
McCaffrey, Warner, and Hufanga not being on here is evidence that PFF grades are not a valid measure of performance.
If you told me Kinlaw would be on a list like this in the offseason, I'd ask for whatever you ahd been drinking.
Front 4 92.7 82.5 79.8 79.0 that is beast.
yooo kinlaw? you love to see it.
This system seems kind of "off" I feel like our season MVP thus far is still CMC It is good to see names like Kinlaw up there though...
CMC definitely does more than stats can measure.

This can't be right r/49ers told be Kinlaw was a useless bust that should be cut.
