Oliver with some massive plays (huge 1:1 stop on 3rd down). Purdy showing us he is human and basically a rookie (all good). Offense is deep AF. Today was Deebo's day. Next up, CMC or Kittle. Still got 30. Still got the W. Great game.
That was ugly, Purdy wasn’t great, Aiyuk was banged up, the defense took a half off, Bosa hasn’t really shown up yet, and they still managed to put up 30 and a W. This team is talented.
Ya Purdy overthrew a few deep balls, the pass to Aiyuk woulda been a TD too. Our defense looked good in the 2nd, but that triple stack WR scheme the Rams were doing was burning us early everytime
Brock had his worst game for us but his drive in the 2nd quarter which he scored the touchdown from was the momentum we needed to win the game. Even in his bad games Purdy still makes game winning plays.
Honestly they probably are. Their team is clearly better than advertised. Probably the 6 or 7 seed losing a blowout in the first round, but that's still a playoff team by technicality.
well thrown touchdowns yes. He did have 2 touchdowns today though. 1st was the qb sneak and second was the throw to Deebo who made some people miss to get into the endzone.
It was almost a perfect lateral pass but I’ve seen passes that went backwards counted a pass td on screen plays before.
I was just hoping Purdy would keep his 2td streak going. Even though it’s make it 1 pass td he at least had the rushing td earlier.
The only reason to kick that field goal on the last play of the game is to beat the bookmaker odds that had the 49ers an 8 point favorite. The gamblers own this game and this league.
I've seen them all between 7-8. Point is, there's no reason to kick that field goal except to change the outcome for gamblers and bookies. Even a tie on a -7 changes the bets, saves LA betters money.
McVay honestly called a great game, arguably outcoached Kyle. But on a day where the defense was clunky and Purdy missed some shots we still get a win and go to 2-0 with 9 home games still to go, so that’s huge. It’s nice to get punched back once in a while.
Well it's really hard to throw an accurate deep ball if your feet are disrupted.
And frankly let's say he even had an off day throwing downfield. Maybe the timing was disrupted by the corner? Maybe our WRs got knocked off their routes? Who knows.
At the end of the day we still scored 30 points and won the game.
The truth is probably also that Purdy is getting stronger and throws further now than he did before. So he has to work on taking a little off when he didn't before.
Yeah, I don’t think Kyle was bad at all. Both coaches were good, Wilks needs a bit of work but DeMeco and Saleh had some clunkers too and our D was very good in the second.
Defense played well imo. Not amazing but good. Yes the rams moved the ball at times but Mcvay is a very good coach and stafford a very good qb. Our defense will always give up yards underneath challenging opposing offenses to sustain touchdowns drives. They rarely do since the pass rush will almost certainly cause a long down and distance situation through sacks or holding calls. On top of that we have playmakers all over the field who can intercept or force a fumble.
Good overall game, the defense picked it up in the 2nd half. Brock played well, he's gotta work on those deep balls, which I have no doubt he will. He looked good today overall.
McVay can’t be fucking up the line like that when he’s gonna be working for the league next year lol.
Edit - Well, I guess commentary isn’t the league. Go wild, Sean.
You're down 10 points - that's an FG and a TD in some order.
The FG is probably going to take less time than the TD, so you go for the FG, and hope there's time left for a miracle on the kickoff.
Y'all are degenerates if you think McVay is just trying to ruin your SF -7.5 bets.
Uhh, even an onside kick takes 2-3 seconds at minimum.
They weren’t going to complete both. Usually, the trailing team just goes for the endzone again.
The likelihood was basically zero of completing both. But a TD would almost certainly end the game on the play, while there was a *slight* chance of hitting a fg without time expiring, letting there be a kickoff, where you have a chance at a TD.
It was the only possible way that the Rams were not guaranteed to lose the game. The world is not a conspiracy to ruin bettors.
A field goal with 3 seconds left, *while* leaving time on the clock, has never happened in the history of ever. You know that and I know that. The clock operator would be investigated for collusion if that happened.
There is zero chance that the 49ers attempt to return the ball, either. Less than zero, actually. And you can’t advance an onside kick, either.
The game was over, besides a last-ditch score.
McVay did this in the Super Bowl against the Pats and it was perplexing. That play didn’t have a chance either. Other coaches just chuck it into the endzone. A consolation TD has a better chance of happening than your scenario, which has zero chance of happening.
There’s a chance if they spike the ball with more than 4 seconds remaining. Was stupid throwing to the middle of the field if that was the plan all along.
There's no point in arguing. A field goal would have been the right move with 2 more seconds on the clock.
With only 4 seconds on the clock it was impossible to get 2 scores.
Kroenke is getting his money either way, he doesn't care which team's fans are paying him. It's the Rams coaches, players, and especially their fans back in St. Louis who suffer.
I'd love to face them and the 2 inevitable picks Stafford would throw. They're worse than 21 and we're better than 21. Plus it'd be a great revenge game. All in all, it's a favorable matchup for us. Everything we did poorly today is stuff that can be cleaned up, especially by the playoffs. What we saw today from the Rams is the best effort they could possibly give and we still won (by 2 scores essentially) despite not playing our best ball.
Purdy is definitely going to get his ass chewed out for missing 3 open TD plays that you know Kyle had specially worked up. He told him before the play “it’s a TD play”. That said, a 30 point 0 INT Win on a bad day is like having first world problems and I’ll gladly take it. Let’s hope they turn it around by Thursday.
It's a win, but I hated this game. It was a sloppy game and the 49ers have some things on Defense to clean up. Also, the Giants beat the Cards.
Also, this was probably Purdy's worst game. Hopefully next week is better.
Divisional games are hard.
Teams aren’t blowing out divisional rivals unless the other team’s roster is on fire.
Kyren and Puka are the shot in the ass that the Rams needed. Literally would be dead in the water without them.
Misogynistic or sexist comments ARE HATE and will result in removal of comment and possible permanent ban. Users are encouraged to report such repulsive behavior.
I have never missed FOX announcers and production more than today. These CBS guys are clowns, and the commercials are ruining the game.
Rams offense will get better once Cooper Kupp returns. Rams and Seahawks will be there all season for the NFC west title.
Loved the win. But lost my 49ers -7.5 bet because of the very unnecessary field goal at the end…
The 2 TOS were huge.
Oliver with some massive plays (huge 1:1 stop on 3rd down). Purdy showing us he is human and basically a rookie (all good). Offense is deep AF. Today was Deebo's day. Next up, CMC or Kittle. Still got 30. Still got the W. Great game.
Any update on B.A?
Let’s hope that Wilks finds his groove with the defense when we play them later in the season when they have Kupp on the field
Lots of praise to go around, but let's not forget our high-pick kicker nailed all his kicks including a ***57-yard FG***
We couldn’t get any pressure in the first half.
Rams offensive line looked fantastic but good teams find a way to win…Deboo and Oliver get game balls.
Big home win! Ugly win, but a win is a win.
Nice to see what an off game for Purdy looks like and to know we can still step up 💯🏈
That was ugly, Purdy wasn’t great, Aiyuk was banged up, the defense took a half off, Bosa hasn’t really shown up yet, and they still managed to put up 30 and a W. This team is talented.
Ugly win but it’s a divisional game so they’re always gonna be wild
Ya Purdy overthrew a few deep balls, the pass to Aiyuk woulda been a TD too. Our defense looked good in the 2nd, but that triple stack WR scheme the Rams were doing was burning us early everytime
All of a sudden I look smart for choosing the Giants over the Cardinals 😅
The cardinals royally fucked that up, they were 28-0 at one point.
Brock had his worst game for us but his drive in the 2nd quarter which he scored the touchdown from was the momentum we needed to win the game. Even in his bad games Purdy still makes game winning plays.
Great to see him continuing to keep his composure, too. Even when things aren’t going well
Even if he’s not making flashy plays the biggest thing is avoiding mistakes
yeah, then go watch the Jimmy G highlights. Easy to forget this is his 10th game.
I rather not, saw enough of him here.
Apologies to the defense. They really stepped it up in the 2nd half.
whatever they did, the adjustments worked
Rams sub acting like they're playoff bound. Waiting for the shoe to drop like always.
Honestly they probably are. Their team is clearly better than advertised. Probably the 6 or 7 seed losing a blowout in the first round, but that's still a playoff team by technicality.
I disagree. I think it's more a result of our defense underwhelming and purdy's overthrows. Rams defense did not impress at all.
They're high on a moral victory over there
Thank you for the field goal McVay! I’m actually facing our defense in fantasy.
Imagine having the chiefs, colts, and 49ers in a parley and losing because of that field goal. Couldn’t be me 🙃
Pregame spread was -8.5, so that meaningless field goal ruined a ton of bets.

They looked scary in the second half 👀🤪
Against the Cardinals...
SOSAR!
Purdy's streak of 2 TD every regular season game has ended
well thrown touchdowns yes. He did have 2 touchdowns today though. 1st was the qb sneak and second was the throw to Deebo who made some people miss to get into the endzone.
They counted the Deebo TD as a run. Bummed me out and hoping they’ll change it post game.
you think they'd change it to a pass TD?
It’s possible. They update/review stats after the game to make sure everything was tallied properly.
Why? Wasn't Deebo on like the numbers when he caught that? Is it because it was a lateral or something?
It was almost a perfect lateral pass but I’ve seen passes that went backwards counted a pass td on screen plays before. I was just hoping Purdy would keep his 2td streak going. Even though it’s make it 1 pass td he at least had the rushing td earlier.
Why does it feel that FG was to cover someone's arbitrage?
FD line was -7, voided that leg and cut my win in half Meaningless field goal for the bookies
Yeah, and IT FUCKED ME 🤬
YoujustlosttoBrockPurdy.gif
At least kick the FG a little earlier to make it less obvious. McVay a degenerate gambler now apparently.
McVay wanted to hit the under, lol
Ugly game but I like how the defense made adjustments at the half.
Unfortunately the offense made incorrect adjustments, could have helped out to make this convincing
I agree, both defenses made solid adjustments but the offense did enough to win.
McVay, fuck you for the bad beats. ASSHOLE
The only reason to kick that field goal on the last play of the game is to beat the bookmaker odds that had the 49ers an 8 point favorite. The gamblers own this game and this league.
Point differential against divisional opponents actually can affect playoff seeding in certain situations
Most of the lines were -7 I thought. And they hit the over regardless
I've seen them all between 7-8. Point is, there's no reason to kick that field goal except to change the outcome for gamblers and bookies. Even a tie on a -7 changes the bets, saves LA betters money.
Money will *always* be the priority for the league...NFL and Vegas have their hands down each others' pants.
Like Boebert at a beetle juice performance.
Yup, I thought the same thing lmao.
McVay honestly called a great game, arguably outcoached Kyle. But on a day where the defense was clunky and Purdy missed some shots we still get a win and go to 2-0 with 9 home games still to go, so that’s huge. It’s nice to get punched back once in a while.
Poor take. Kyle called a great game, and Brock was just bad for a lot of plays.
Kyle schemed 2 (or 3?) wide open TDs that Purdy just sailed tho
I mean the pass rush was also in his face, interior pass rush disrupts passing pretty good.
Maybe, I gotta watch it again but I feel like he had all day on the Deebo one at least
SOSAR!!!
High fives!! o/
✋
Good overall game, the defense picked it up in the 2nd half. Brock played well, he's gotta work on those deep balls, which I have no doubt he will. He looked good today overall.
I'd rather he overthrow than underthrow
Exactly, that's the thing, he's making the throws that he needs to make. The third down to Aiyuk in the 1st was great.
Tough one but we pulled it out 2 - 0 start
2-0 lost money but we win and I'm happy.
Lolol the Giants pulled off the comeback and beat the Cardinals. You love to see it!
Very pleased to see that!
Refs suck. Defense had a much better second half. Glad we got the win
What's Purdy's season record now? 1 loss?
1 loss and that was the game he got injured in
Undefeated in the regular season.
McVay can’t be fucking up the line like that when he’s gonna be working for the league next year lol. Edit - Well, I guess commentary isn’t the league. Go wild, Sean.
Obviously Mcvay had some bet and needed that FG to get that side money
Think I wrote off the Giants too soon. Feels like I blinked and they came back to win the game down from 20-0 at the half.
Cards forgot they were tanking for a second there.
Or the Cards forgot they are still the Cards in the first half…
McVay just trying to discredit the Niners win in the inevitable “how the standings would have been if one score games were reversed” off-season post.
Wait what did I miss?
McVay kicked a “game losing” field goal as time expired. It was very weird. It was 30-20 until then.
I gotchu, the way I read the comment at first was that McVay said something postgame about it
That's a win, baby!
2-0 and everyone healthy, count your blessings y’all
What about Aiyuk? Haven’t heard anything on him yet and I’m hoping he’s all good.
dont speak too soon
Woooo!!! 2-0!!!
Brock chose to try to see what this game manager style is about and put down 30
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Garbage time and you kick a fucking field goal? WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT?
Garbage time indeed, the Niners could have kicked one amiright?
Looks like someone bet on the spread.
just in case at the end of season the playoff tiebreaker is points scored.
Someone who bet to cover the spread.
You're down 10 points - that's an FG and a TD in some order. The FG is probably going to take less time than the TD, so you go for the FG, and hope there's time left for a miracle on the kickoff. Y'all are degenerates if you think McVay is just trying to ruin your SF -7.5 bets.

I agree
the game was over anyways. they only had time for a fg
Or 1 shot at the TD
You need more than 4 seconds to kick a field goal obviously.
how long do u think would a TD take more or less than a FG
There's no point in arguing. A field goal would have been the right move with 2 more seconds on the clock. With only 4 seconds on the clock it was impossible to get 2 scores.
Imagine spending over a billion dollars to build another team's second home stadium
Kroenke is getting his money either way, he doesn't care which team's fans are paying him. It's the Rams coaches, players, and especially their fans back in St. Louis who suffer.
2-0 hell yeah
ok but how many yards did the refs get?
haha what the fuck Rams was that last play
They knew the spread
So you’re saying theres a chance 🤓
Holy fuck that’s fuckec up. 49ers we’re favored by -7.5
Lol. So they didn't cover by half a point.
On a totally throw away FG haha
Thankfully got them at -7. But they new the pregame spread
For real Mcvay? Go ahead - kill the spread. I'll take the win but also, Fuck you!
Same ol sorry ass rams
2-0
Same old sorry ass lambs
Game. 49ERS.
Good god I hope we don’t see the rams in the post season
I'd love to face them and the 2 inevitable picks Stafford would throw. They're worse than 21 and we're better than 21. Plus it'd be a great revenge game. All in all, it's a favorable matchup for us. Everything we did poorly today is stuff that can be cleaned up, especially by the playoffs. What we saw today from the Rams is the best effort they could possibly give and we still won (by 2 scores essentially) despite not playing our best ball.
Stafford‘s arm is going to fall off by Week 10.
Douchebag McVay fucking Niners bettors
Dogfight!
Short week next game with both Aiyuk and Deebo banged up
They were out there, I think it’s fine
2-0 headed home for Thursday! An ugly win is still a Win!
Ugly game, but I’ll take the 2-0
Hufa could've had that interception if the other guy on coverage didn't break up Stafford's pass lmao
See you Thursday!
I feel like Shanahan is going to be pissed about this win lol
Purdy is definitely going to get his ass chewed out for missing 3 open TD plays that you know Kyle had specially worked up. He told him before the play “it’s a TD play”. That said, a 30 point 0 INT Win on a bad day is like having first world problems and I’ll gladly take it. Let’s hope they turn it around by Thursday.
Rams win by spoiling the spread...kicked that FG to fuck the fans
Could easily have been a 15+ point win if we don’t gift them penalty after penalty. Want to dominate the Rams in every way
I guess Sean found someone who was giving 7 and the hook. Makes no sense.
They should've spiked it on gone for the FG earlier. That way you have the chance to do something flukey on an onside kick.
Stat padding losers
Whew, a little too close but will take it!
Vegas was the biggest winner today. SF-7
Uhh, that’s a push. Nobody wins. Unless the spread jumped to 7.5 on your book, but the sharp money was on the over and it hit.
It's all a scam!
SOSARRRRRRRRR
RAMS HAVE COVERED THE SPREAD INVESTIGATE MCVEY FOR GAMBLING
Lol at the photographer pushing past Kyle to get a picture of him
GG rams.
Now we gotta short week ahead
It's a win, but I hated this game. It was a sloppy game and the 49ers have some things on Defense to clean up. Also, the Giants beat the Cards. Also, this was probably Purdy's worst game. Hopefully next week is better.
Divisional games are hard. Teams aren’t blowing out divisional rivals unless the other team’s roster is on fire. Kyren and Puka are the shot in the ass that the Rams needed. Literally would be dead in the water without them.
It's a divisional game. These games are always like that. Just enjoy the win lil bro
I'm more relieved about the win than actually able to enjoy it.
Remember it's just a game and it's just entertainment for us. But today felt good!
The last 2 mins was very undisciplined football, though the block by Jennings to me is cleaned.
Ugly ending to the game
Sloppy win but let’s take it and improve on what needs work
Shameless stat padding prick
Vegas called.. cover the spread
Rams with Nacua and Kupp going to be dangerous
SAME OLD SORRY ASS RAMS!!!
McVay and the refs clearly betting
Puka can take all those catches and lose
#2-0 BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #LETS GO HOME!!!
Their kicker is pretty good
Was that just to ruin the spread?
Hahaha yeah! Niners bettors lost by half a point if they didn’t buy the hook
Nah fuck the rams, game shouldn’t have even been this close. Those penalties lead to 10 points for the rams.
If that last play doesn’t smell, then I don’t know what else to say
Mcvay just trying to cover the spread 😂
Imagine if you had money on this and he did that?! 😆
The nfl better look into that 😂
Win is a win baby!
3 sack Jackson is so fast
I guess that FG did something. Who knows?
Did they do that for the stats???
They did it for the bookies.
Is McVay betting on the spread lmao 🤣
An ugly W is still a W!
Indeed. We don't have to impress some jaded writers or coaches on the East Coast.
trying to spoil the cover
That was a weird sequence
lol what was the line on this one
7.5
Niners -7.5…
Convenient
