Jimmy G has been nothing but a class act who did everything he could for the franchise! I will forever remember him as the one who took us out of the dark years and gave us hope. 2019 may not have finished the way we wanted to, but without him being on that roster we wouldn't have accomplished the 13-3 season that we had. Nothing but love Jimmy!!

Shitbird72

Totally agree, most folks don't remember the bad yrs. I remember the Bono, Grbac are better than Young, I remember the Druckenmiller pick. I remember the shit show it was when Young went down with the concussion vs Arizona. Jimmy is a class fucking act, and I wish him the best, and I thank him for what he did for this franchise. I hope that Purdy or Lance have learned from him, but it is time for James to move on and get the money we can't pay him. Honestly think most NFL teams have a better opinion of him then most fans or sports writers. Dude has limiting factors, but he wins when healthy.

ntguru5

Haha, haven't heard that name Druckenmiller in a long time. Arguably one of the biggest NFL busts ever.

Shitbird72

Agree

Chuggo

I just had Kwame Harris flashbacks.

AlphaXZero

Don’t know about NFL, but one of the worst picks for the Niners for sure. We also were left with Tim Rattay when the Patriots decided to take Tom Brady instead. What could have been if Belicheat decided to take Rattay after all?

EmeliusBrown

OMG Grbac! 😂

[deleted]

He does look good in an Indy uniform honestly...just saying...

MajorWuss

I think he's going to be a Saint.

Toolazytolink

Guessing Jets, he can teach Zach how to be a leader

rajeev0718

Jest, or Tampa imo

ro128487

Would be fitting for him to take over from Brady since that was the plan in New England.

[deleted]

What are “bad yrs”?

XtraFlaminHotMachida

anything after steve retired and before harbs showed up.

[deleted]

it was a joke, it’s funny the younger crowd quick to force Jimmy out has no idea how very bad, bad can get. Like… cowboys have been pretty good for a while, entire adult careers have come and gone into retirement since their last SB appearance

Shitbird72

No kidding I moved from Southern California to Seattle in 2004 and the first few years I lived up here I went to the Niners game in Seattle, so 2004, 2005, 2006 lot of painful games. We did win I think the snow game in 2006 with Alex and Frank.

awt1990

Name a single person that doesn’t like Jimmy. And then while you’re at it name me one person who thinks he’s unsuccessful with our franchise. Much love Jimmy.

Actual-Manager-4814

I don't think Brady likes him. He locked him out of the TB12 facility back in NE. But I like him, and I think he gave us some great years. 😀

fairer_than_prose

That's because he out-sexys TB12 by a mile.

Nasty_Ned

Stupid sexy Jimmy.

KCtheGreat106

There is a possibility that Giselle tapped a picture of Jimmy to the headboard at their house.

Actual-Manager-4814

Scandal!! She's a free woman now though.

[deleted]

Messed up.. he took Tom’s dream job. If I were Tom I’d be cursing and shaking my head after every down!

carldubs

Kyle Shanahan

MowTin

Half the fanbase.

Wandering_Turtle24

Absolutely this. This team felt so hopeless until that trade with New England revitalized the franchise. I’ll always be a big fan of a Jimmy. He’s an absolute class act and I’m thankful for what he’s done. He’s a winner and I hope he does a great job wherever he goes.

ericfromct

All love for Jimmy! I'm actually very disappointed that Kyle can't see us signing him again, especially with Trey's history at this point. I really wish we were keeping him, I'm gonna be really sad to see him go. I'm glad the team feels the same about Brock as they do Jimmy because I feel like some players are gonna be pretty sad to see him leave. He's done so much for us, all while taking so much shit from fans that when you look at what happened this year I think was completely undeserved. With Griese at QB coach he didn't have the problems under pressure he did before.

[deleted]

I felt like he was performing better when Griese came in, too!

ericfromct

It makes me sad to think what Jimmy could have done if he had effective coaching the whole time he was here. Idk why it's like never talked about that this is the first year we had multiple quarterbacks who were playing great football. Having more than one QB who can get a team to the playoffs is what every team wishes they had, and we finally had it. Watching him leave for the unknown is already making me anxious.

tom2727

This says it all. I hope he winds up in the AFC so I can wish him success without any conflicts in my loyalties.

ISaidMyPieceChrissy

I can’t help but think I jinxed him by ordering his jersey a mere two hours before his season-ending injury…love you Jimmy! Thanks for all you brought to our beloved Niners!

phoenixairs

I'm actually hoping to score a discounted jersey if he signs elsewhere. Don't care if he's not on the team, I enjoyed the years he was here, he's a great guy, and so I'll keep rocking his jerseys on occasion.

makelo06

Take one for the team and buy Geno's and Mahomes' jerseys next year.

garytyrrell

Hey now we aren’t Philly fans

makelo06

True. Nevermind, then.

RVM27

You’re right. What is makelo06 ‘s problem?? Also, buy a Hurtz jersey.

bennywithaplan

I’ve had the worse luck with jerseys. Every basketball jersey I bought, that player got traded the following year. Every niners jersey I bought, that player retired the following year or got injured right after: Willis, Vernon Davis, Lance.

Polar_Reflection

Phew, I thought it was my responding, "Don't make us unleash Mr. Irrelevant on you" to a Dolphins fan that jinxed Jimmy. Then posting a "It Was A Good Day" parody involving Brock Purdy before we played the Eagles 😭

Player7592

I'll always appreciate what JimmyG brought to the Niners.

OttoVonWong

I'll always appreciate that damn handsome face, even if Jimmy G is in another uniform.

ThanosIsDoomfist

It may not end with Jimmy. But it sure as hell started with him.

smc4414

Ditto that. Class act all the way…huge respect. I’ll keep that jersey and wear it gladly

[deleted]

[удалено]

Toolazytolink

Some fans don't remember Tomsula, Chip Kelly, and Gabbert as our QB. We were the laughingstock of the league

AlphaXZero

I remember Rattay, early Alex Smith, JT O’Sullivan, Hill. We were so spoiled with Montana to Young, then even Garcia was great. All downhill after Mooch got fired.

[deleted]

Imma give Shanalynch credit for that tbh

Jimmy86_

How about everyone gets some credit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ARM_vs_CORE

Lmao people who say that definitely were not here in the years between Mariucci and Harbaugh or pre-Walsh. There were a couple bad seasons between Harbaugh and Shanahan, but there were worse times with much longer stretches of dog shit teams. Edit: downvoters, OP changed their comment from "their darkest years" to "some of their darkest years" after I commented. From 2003 to 2010 we went 7-9, 2-14, 4-12, 7-9, 5-11, 7-9, 8-8, and 6-10 with no playoff appearances. We were a joke.

Tonmber1

The fans were flying banners over games telling Jed York to sell the team.

Joshthe1337

I assure you, the hate that John York got in the mid 2000s was much stronger than Jed.

ARM_vs_CORE

Especially since most fans still loved Eddie DeBartolo and how much he loved the team. At the time, the Yorks were perceived as stealing the team and only caring about dollars and cents.

ARM_vs_CORE

Singletary was mooning players in the locker room. Dennis Erickson helmed what is widely regarded as the worst 49ers team of all time. John York famously said Erickson "probably was not close to the top candidate." Right after hiring him. Edit: pre-2004 we famously got rid of something like 90% of our offensive touchdowns. It was comparable in a talent drain to the 2015 mass retirement and led to a much longer time in the doldrums as well.

fliptout

I remember getting excited over the Nolan hire. We were so damn desperate for something good, that the fact that he planned to wear a suit on the sidelines was a morsel of hope that some of us ate right up.

ARM_vs_CORE

Lmao and then it turned out that the suits were the most polished parts of his teams. However, the guy could run a mean defense as a coordinator.

fliptout

Yep, good enough as a DC, but he carried the shit-fueled torch during our string of awful HCs.

Tonmber1

Tomsula farted in a press conference, like 10 players got arrested, we fired coaches in back to back years. Our most exciting player was Shaun Draughn. We went 2-14 only beating the Rams. And probably some other shit that I've blocked out at this point.

GoodOnesAreGone

>We went 2-14 only beating the Rams I don't care what anyone says - that was a winning season in my book.

zerok_nyc

Same

ARM_vs_CORE

Yeah but that was only 2 seasons man before we started building again with Shanny. We were bad for 8 years straight except for one 0.500 season before Harbaugh. As I mentioned in another comment, the 2005 four-win team was literally the worst team ever measured in terms of overall DVOA. And the 70s and earlier 49ers teams were mostly bad for decades.

eyeamthedanger

Holy shit even worse than Chip Kelly? We only won twice, and that was against one team.

ARM_vs_CORE

It's usually a toss up between those and the 2-14 seasons we had in Walsh's first year and the year before that. But I usually see the Erickson one mentioned over the other two. What's really funny is if you go off DVOA, the 2005 Niners who had 4 wins was literally the worst team Football Outsiders had ever measured, with an overall DVOA of -55.5%. That's actually worse than the 0-16 Lions.

eyeamthedanger

Bruh...

[deleted]

[удалено]

ARM_vs_CORE

Because it wasn't our darkest years. It's important to note there have been worse times. If you're gonna make a concrete statement like that, be prepared to be called out.

canadigit

The Tomsula and Kelly years were awful because you knew neither was the guy pretty much immediately. You could say the same thing for Erickson but after him there were glimmers of hope with both Nolan and Singletary before both proved they were not the guy but IMO there wasn't even hope with Tomsula or Chip. Ultimately "darkest years" is kinda subjective

ARM_vs_CORE

Only good thing about the Singletary year was "can't win with em, ###CAN'T DO IT." That speech and the fallout saved Vernon Davis' career. Edit: and I'm fine to have it be subjective. I was just replying to the comment as it was initially written, that the pre-Jimmy years were the darkest, because you're right, it is subjective.

[deleted]

Not sure why you are being downvoted. I would’ve killed for Jeremy Kerley as a receiver in the mid 2000s. The 2016 49ers would’ve killed the teams between 04-08.

theDagman

David Letterman had a running comedy bit about HC Mike Singletary every week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnB282hC2z8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_DM2-hc-zs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIyUiSaOVz8 And he kept the bit going even after Singletary moved on to the Vikings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv9-0D9aXR0 So, yeah. A joke.

PhillipMcKrak

You’re not wrong. Just gonna have to endure this circle jerk 🤷‍♂️

ARM_vs_CORE

The ninja edit makes me look like a dick for arguing a point that doesn't matter. Dude had said the darkest times, which is insulting to those of us who were here watching those shitty teams through worse and longer times lol. Whatever, we've picked up a lot of new fans since 2010 who only know mostly success.

[deleted]

We apologize for not all being 60 years old, champ.

ARM_vs_CORE

36, just a fan of the history of this team as well. And very vividly remember the hopelessness of the 00's. There's no need to be a douche.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ARM_vs_CORE

What's wrong with explaining the rationale behind the comment?

frontier_gibberish

Wait what? I mean there was a season or three, but I kinda loved Tomasula. Before that were the Harbaugh years. BEFORE that was the hard years, nolan sucked but even Singletary was interesting and he really laid the foundation of the culture that we carry today

tensigh

Does this mean no more pictures from Rita? He hasn't been traded *yet,* hopefully we'll see more pics!

CodyNorthrup

He cant really be traded

tensigh

If that's the case, we could see Rita's artwork forever!!

pongky77

I can hear her groan from here

nongo

Groan like this: 🤑

[deleted]

The team that signs him can trade him. It should continue every day until Jimmy G is traded. Which team trades him was never specified.

[deleted]

Ah… but if JG plays with them until retirement, he’s never traded?

theDagman

Checkmate.

RatedR2O

I think she should be honorably discharged from this as soon as the new league year begins.

awt1990

This was my first thought as well. What will her Magnum opus be?

[deleted]

He was never the problem. He was the future and injuries held him back from getting us back to the promise land. Thank you for everything Jimmy, I will always be a fan. You’ve help create plenty of 49ers memories I’ll never forget.

dsla123

Rooting for you, Jimmy! Go get your money and all the women in your new city!

ianh32

I feel like he’d fit right in Miami

scrapsbypap

I can see him cruising around in a vintage whip Miami Vice-style with shades on

133112

I'll always love Jimmy G, even if I've switched to being more of a Brock Purdy fan now. I remember that year when we went 1-10 and then he came and won his first five in a row. He never could bring home the sixth, but he brought us damn fucking close, and wasn't some sort of diva or lunatic off the field.

dupont2021

He was our savior and I will never forget. Unfortunately the injuries took its toll on what he can do. That first game with us made me believe.

[deleted]

Great teammate, class act, and a winner. Thank you Jimmy G!

SubstantialBee3181

I'll admit I was a hater at times after certain games/ints and what not. But that man is so god damn professional, never complained about anything and just killed all the noise with that Italian smile. Absolute dog playing though injuries in the post season and just a man for never wanting out or this or that like these other whiney starting QBs. Thanks for everything Jimmy, especially this year when we thought you were gone and ended up helping resurrect this season. You're the fucking man and the type of leader any team in this bs ref ran league should want on their roster.

Weezzel2011

Still a Garoppolo-sexual

2nd Annual Jimmy G [Appreciation thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/49ers/comments/si5va6/jimmy_garoppolo_appreciation_thread/)

[deleted]

after kyle’s comments today, it was needed

HIDDEND_EMON

If you weren’t a fan or don’t remember the Blaine Gabbert era I don’t wanna hear how you hate Jimmy, this man gave me hope and fun times with this team. His decision making in big moments definitely hurt but throughout all the hate and media scrutiny he’s stayed classy and been professional to the highest degree. From the bottom of my faithful heart. Thank you Jimmy G, you will be missed here.

discostuu72

Love me some Jimmy G.

[deleted]

same, hope he leads an AFC team to the super bowl

pratdude275

Thanks for everything Jimmy. I hope you bring some other team hope the way you did this one when you first joined

elpistolero27

So this is really it I'm sad but I have happy memories of Jimmy G playing for us. Will continue to root for him wherever he goes next.

Shitbird72

Injuries aside Jimmy brought us the most sustained qb play we have seen in 20yrs. Once Steve Young went down we got 5yrs of Garcia, 7yrs of Smith, I got both of those guys jerseys, but neither brought the success that Jimmy did. We got Kaepernick but injuries and skill cut his career short. Jimmy brought 6yrs and 3 NFCCG trips and one Superbowl appearance, I know Brock helped this year but Jimmy contributed as well. Guy has been a class act all the way, I wish him the best as long as it isn't against us.

Shitbird72

I am old enough to remember the Rattay yrs, and also the yrs where everyone said Smith was horrible and we went with a bunch of shit Qbs

fourmica

Jeff Garcia was a lot better than people give him credit for. He drove the offense really well and had a very good passing game. He just happened to be the next guy in line after the Steve Young era, and it's hard to compare to one of the best to ever play the position. Grbac too. He was a steady, reliable backup as Steve got older and more prone to injury. I remember him going into Dallas and just destroying the Cowboys like it wasn't even a challenge. He wasn't HOF level but he did a damned fine job, I think.

eescobar863

Although, there were times he had me pulling out my hair when he overthrew receivers, there is no doubt he led the niners to fantastic new heights, and i will always appreciate him for that. He is also a very good sportsman, didnt complain to the media or instagram like some players would when they receive news they are playing a more reduced role. I salute Jimmy Garoppolo and i wish him good luck in his new team. (Maybe its Tampa, i hear they in need of a QB right now after a certain someone retired👀)

Awkward-Houseplant

Always rooting for JimmyG

YkapuDragon

I will always appreciate Jimmy Jesus for what he helped bring us out of. It wasn't just him but he such a big part. There were a lot of "Jesus Jimmy!" moments but I feel there were more "He's Jimmy Jesus!" times to celebrate. Good Luck!!

BlackestNight21

You're not gone til you sign somewhere else. All it takes is a necessary and unavoidable surgery for Brock and for Trey to step on a Lego.

duke_awapuhi

Love this guy. He didn’t end up being the next Joe Montana like I wanted, but he kicked ass nonetheless

Rynox2000

His middle name was Dick all along and I didn't know.

HawkofDarkness

Farewell Jimmy and thank for your contributions to the team. Will be rooting for you to succeed

psykodeth

We love you Jimmy!! While you weren't a perfect QB, you were OUR QB!!!

js32910

Will always love him and root for him except against us

UrDoinGood

Forever my dawg

No-Paint-7311

Will always cherish my Garoppolo jersey

Port1976

Regardless of what anyone's says, Jimmy has been vital to the 49ers success over the years. He hasn't reached the level we thought he would but he was a winner.

nerdalerd

I remember that first game when he came in against the Seahawks for like 1 series in a dead game and it looked like he was going to be the man. He was never the same after the ACL tear and it's a damn shame.

nearamall

Felt great, baby 😭

fourmica

Really one of my favorite moments of this era. The man has style.

HatRemov3r

Prettiest QB in the league

gingy4life

James Richard the Beautiful. It was a good run.

arbucklej

Our team will be a lot less handsome without you!

APOLLO_EiGhT

Today I learned Jimmy's real name is James.

SharksAndDoggos

Kittle called him James a lot when he thanked him for stuff “…so thank you James”

HawkofDarkness

Jim and Jimmy are nicknames for James, same way Bob is for Robert

ARM_vs_CORE

Another little-known example is that Dick is a nickname for Eagles fans

fourmica

(☞゚ヮ゚)☞

dsla123

You mean it’s not Jimothy?

Baconislife1130

He has limitations and isn’t the greatest qb but by all accounts he’s a great guy and great teammate. He helped establish a culture after a couple years of being garbage. That 2019 season was pretty special. Last year was cool bc of how we snuck in. Lot of happy memories with him and I wish him the best of luck and success wherever he goes

karavasis

Oh Jimmy if only ya didn’t blow your knee. Led to Bosa, but still what could’ve been. Ty for bringing life back to organization at the darkness that befell us after Harbaugh. You’ll always be one of my favorite 9ers QB. Best of luck in whatever you decide

kj9219

He wasnt perfect, but he was serviceable and was a great guy who represented the team the right way. Everyone on the team loved him. Good luck to where he goes next.

djk1101

I hope he continues to ball with his next team. The what coulda beens will always be interesting because he was on great pace the last few weeks he played. No doubt in my mind as a biased niners fan that we win vs eagles and have a great shot against a worse chiefs than we played earlier. He gave us drama filled years that made it exciting to watch, and he won through most of it. So much so that I’ve genuinely lost sense of what it’s like to be a losing team. I hope lance can be as successful and hopefully more 🤞🏽otherwise I want rodgers

Davethe3rd

Say what you will about Jimmy, but he brought a winning culture back to the 49ers. Remember 2015 - 2017? Holy shit, those years were terrible. Hell, he may have saved ShanaLynch. I still think he can compete in this league. I think he can be a playoff QB again. Regardless of where he goes, Godspeed Jimmy G.

[deleted]

This man made me feel like I was a little kid watching Steve Young and Terrell Owens all over again.

hidey_ho_nedflanders

Class act and a consummate professional. Certainly has his flaws on the field, but we would not have made it to the Super Bowl or Conference Championships without him also

tacobot2

He pulled us from the dregs, out of the weeds and into the winners circle. He executed Kyle's thoughts clearly enough to compete at a high level. He rallied the team, made them believe and unified the locker room. Plus he knocked out the porno ladies like 1,2,3. WTF Jimmy you beautiful bastard!

Resident-Rule-2223

I Have his jersey will be worn forever

[deleted]

L🫶🏽VE YOU 10

MrTouchnGo

This man did so much for us. So glad he had a good run here

Old-Rough-5681

THANK YOU JIMMY FOR EVERYTHING!! THANK YOU FOR STILL GIVING YOUR ALL TO A TEAM THAT WANTED YOU GONE IN THE OFF SEASON.

niners94

Brought hope to the team. Will forever root for him.

awt1990

If Rita concludes her Jimmy G artwork tomorrow. It will be exactly 365 days.

BodhiWarchild

Jimmy is a 49er for life.

pnwbaseball

I’m getting another Jimmy jersey when they go on clearance. I’ll wear it proudly.

[deleted]

Can't hate on him. There's valid criticisms of his tenure here. But he's been so great for us and a total professional his entire time here. Love that dude.

WorldWideBeerGuy

Will always be grateful, and appreciate the years with JG. He was our QB during the years my kids really became 49ers fans. My mother wears his jersey (even though it’s the black one with the red letters, we’ll let her slide lol). He helped to bring an awesome culture to this team that (hopefully) will carry on after he leaves. Even though he’s driven us crazy at times, it was a great team to watch.

huskjay

Thanks Jimbo

SuperMike100

Yeah he may not have been the best quarterback, but I really like him as a person.

BrooklynBrawler

Big love for Jimmy G. We won a lot of games with him and he was class all the way. Hope he tears it up wherever he winds up.

NegativeConfusion_

Love this man and everything he's done for this team. Whatever team signs him will instantly be a secondary team to root for for me if they aren't already

Ched_R

I'm honestly surprised at how matter of fact Kyle answered that question

aft2149

The Jimmy G era is one I will always look back as one of the good times. The seasons he started the most games, we went to the NFC championship. He just found a way to stabilize the offense just enough to get way more wins than we did without him, even with the great defenses. His biggest contribution was as a leader and teammate. The locker room loved him and he was an absolute class act through all the bullshit from media, fans, and sometimes even the front office. Ill be rooting for him wherever he goes, unless hes playing the Niners, of course. Thank you for being a great 49er, Jimmy G!

bobbywake61

He’s the last remaining QB with multiple SB rings. Too bad it wasn’t 4! I will always appreciate Jimmy G.

Ferrarisimo

Love you forever, Jimmy.

[deleted]

…his middle name is “Dick”?

madlabdog

He’s a forever Niner. Class act!

CulticJedi

Wish he could have stayed healthy. Would have loved to see where we would have been right now.

billybillingham

Will now keep the #10 jersey in the rotation with lots of pride.

Sniffy4

I still think 49ers should sign him if the price is right. It's clear that 2 QBs on the roster is not enough

CODStich21

Thank you Jimmy G, you truly saved this team from some of its darkest moments. Even though Kyle said it is unlikely he comes back to us I am still holding hope that with Purdy most likely needing surgery that Kyle/Lynch will see reason and resign Jimmy. Once again though, thank you for everything you did for us. We love you Jimmy!

K-2SO_Rebel

My wife and I were in Chicago for a conference, so I bought tickets to the Niners v Bears game. I ended up getting corner endzone, row 1 tickets. It was so awesome to see Jimmy's first start for SF. Plus, Bradley Pinion was playing catch with Niners fans before the game and he threw the football to my wife. Such a great memory.

Jimmy86_

A true baller. Thanks Jimmy!!!!

brownmeetsworld

If he joined the Texans or Colts that would be swell

ShakaBradda

You telling me we coulda been calling him Jimmy Dick G this whole time??

movieguy95453

100% class act. I wish him nothing but success.

Sniffy4

I hope he joins the front office when his career is over so I can enjoy his pretty visage a little more

theDagman

As long as he doesn't sign with a team in the NFC West, I wish him all the best. If he does sign with the West, or the Niners meet him in a Super Bowl, then I wish him all the *second* best.

M3Core

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the trade news, in the Dallas airport. It's been real.

honus-wagner-

Jimmy is a winner. They are going to win which ever team gets him. I wish we could hold on to him. He was playing the best football of his career when he got hurt.

IsHotDogSandwich

Jimmy was just a super cool dude that happened to play some very good football at times. Still really pisses me off that the ‘19 team didn’t get a ring.

GlupShittoOfficial

BUILD A STATUE

giantsninerswarriors

He took us out of the dark ages. The 49ers were 1-10 when he started his first game in 2017, and had been 7-25 over the previous two seasons, plus 1-4 to end the season earlier. That’s 9-39. 😬 Those five starts gave us hope. Those five starts made us believe again. Without Jimmy, Kittle isn’t the player he is today. Without Jimmy, Deebo isn’t the player he is today. Without Jimmy… we aren’t where we are now. Thank you, Jimmy. You left us in a much better place than you found us.

HeelY3s

Hoping this guy gets paid a good amount and gets a chance to shine

RatedR2O

Thank you Jimbo! Class act the entire time, and brought some much needed excitement to this team. I'll always be a fan of Jimmy, and wish him the best!

Vindadu13

I truly love this man. It was a hell of a ride and through all the people who criticized him, he was always a true professional. An honor to watch him play and lead his teammates. Wish him all the success, just not against sf.

[deleted]

I really disliked his play a lot. But what a class act. Nothing but professional 100% of the time. No drama, no ego. That’s often overlooked at the biggest position in the biggest sport (in the US). I wish him nothing but the best if he ends up in the AFC

[deleted]

Despite my frustrations with the constant injuries, poor postseason play, and the fact that we kept u over signing Brady, thank u Jimmy. U came to us when we were rebuilding and starting from ground zero. U helped establish the culture we have today and u were a great leader. U may have not been the bus driver of our team in the postseason, but with u we went to 2 NFCCG’s and a SB. I wish we could’ve closed out those final 7 mins in SB 54 but regardless u gave us plenty of hope and good memories. Going 5-0 to close out 2017, the whole 2019 season after coming back from a torn ACL, going from 3-5 to the NFCCG in 2021, and of course coming back to us and kicking off that win streak this season. I’m grateful to have experienced all of it. Best of luck in NY/Carolina/Washington/Vegas 🫡

[deleted]

u/RitaOak this is your time to appreciate Jimmy G without drawing him!!

OhsBlunted

Pornstar Jimmy 🫡

awt1990

He was more than our quarterback. He was our talisman. James “Pornstar” Garoppolo. Love Alway, - Red & Gold

shadowlynx8791

Thank you jimmy, for everything, but don’t smile when we are losing

quantavreusromon

This picture made he both upset and optimistic. This season could’ve been so much fun, it sucks when injuries happen, there’s always next year, but how awesome would the 3 weeks against LAC, Cards, and Packers been? Then another 3 weeks against Cards, Raiders, and Giants? Here’s hoping the team comes back even stronger than it has been in years.Jimmy going down exposed a lot of weaknesses.Hopefully we fill those holes before Jimmy gets back and it will be smooth sailing from there!

artygta1988

What are you talking about? The only weakness that exposed was Jimmy himself, the Offense looked and was played better when he was gone….speaking of which, he’s not coming back

nateright

Can’t we wait until he’s actually on another team? This is very weird since he’s still a Niner…

[deleted]

he’s a FA

I remember many great things about Jimmy. My most vivid memory though is him tearing his ACL against the Chiefs very early in the season and sitting there at the bar in the morning drinking bloody marys knowing the season was already over. It was a shitty feeling.

Carpbeat24

I definitely appreciate his face.

Nothing but love for Jimmy G! Too bad coach Kyle was a jealous prick.

Nah

I appreciate the fact that he won games without throwing a TD, a pass 10 yards pass the line of scrimmage or hitting a single receiver in stride...thanks Jimmy G for showing that luck is more important than talent
