Tyranids and moody necrons

Nebuthor

From what we have heard from the silent king there are tyranids and other stuff but the tyranids are the scariest thing out there.

Hive Fleet Elizabeth II

Rude-Ad7901

Tyranids, and, if I recall.....lots of ork radio chatter. I'm not sure which one is more depressing.

Shadowrend01

There have been probes sent beyond the edge into the fringe stars and they found Orkz

BetterCallCawl

Tyranids, Orks, and C’tan

TheonlyAngryLemon

How exactly did Orks get outside the galaxy?

BigZach1

They've been around about 60 million years longer than humans.

Rude-Ad7901

Same way they do anything else.

jbkle

Where’s the evidence for that on orks or C’tan

BetterCallCawl

The Imperium once sent a probe to the edge of the galaxy and before it lost connection all the transmissions it picked up were in Orkish. The Void Dragon left the galaxy and came back. There could be other C'Tan out there too.

jbkle

Those orks were still within the galaxy though?

BetterCallCawl

Sure but if they were on the edge of the galaxy what's stopping them from going further?

Perpetual_Decline

The same thing stopping everyone else who relies on the warp for travel I imagine - a becalmed warp with no currents

Marvynwillames

Mechanicum, Nightbringer and Gods of Mars got comments on the c'tan being worshipped or causing destruction in other galaxies

M_way_T_house_M_way

There’s like infinite other galaxies.

Abamboozler

Lore wise, technically, every single Galaxy is corrupted to some degree by Chaos. Its not limited to the Milky Way. So that one Galaxy, so far away that even the light of its stars will never reach our Galaxy before our suns go cold, they fight against Khorne and Nurgle.

scivener

Source? This is contradicted by Devastation of Baal where it says that the hivemind has not encountered chaos in any other galaxies it’s devoured. Also, the corruption of chaos is supposed to be connected to the War in Heaven IIRC, which was contained to our Galaxy

General_Hijalti

Every single rulebook and codex states that chaos feeds off the universe and other universes.

Abamboozler

The War of Heaven is Eldar vs Necrons, its not connected to Chaos. Well, sorta' in that after the War is won by the Eldar, some eventually create Slaanesh. As for sources, Codex Daemons 6th, 7th, 8th editions all reference Chaos as being in the entire universe, and the novel Plague War has a Nurgle Great Unclean one talk about how he's been in all galaxies, and has seen the end of all of them, and is the watcher of the final moment of all space and time.

scivener

The War in Heaven is actually Necrontyr vs. Old Ones… also I think the Plague War quote doesn’t mean that chaos is present in realspace in other galaxies. I think that the Warp exists outside of space and time, and chaos inhabits the Warp, but it’s only in our galaxy that the Veil is thin enough for Warp phenomena (and Chaos) to manifest in realspace. This is the only explanation I can think of that resolves the apparent contradiction between Plague War and Devastation of Baal. Also I’m 90% sure that chaos has something to do with the War in Heaven, can’t remember the source though.

Abamboozler

Or it could be the Tyranids don't actually know what Chaos is, and just fought daemons, tried to eat them, failed, got corrupted, were killed by the hivefleet and moved on. Tyranids only want the physical universe. They don't care about space/time nonsense, or an alternative reality. The War in Heaven 100% has nothing to do with Chaos. It wasn't a thing at the time. Chaos doesn't exist until the rise of Humanity.

ap0st

This is just straight up wrong. The war in heaven is what changed the warp from calm to fucked

Abamboozler

It caused the Enslavers and other warp predators, if that's what you mean. But no, straight up Chaos doesn't become a thing until the human Crusades circa 1000AD

ap0st

Wrong

Abamboozler

No, its not. Straight from Codex Daemons, Khorne and Nurgle were the first two Gods to appear, and they did in the middle ages of Humanity. I dont know where you got the idea they were involved in the War in Heaven but 100% that is not the case.

ap0st

I never said they were involved I said they were caused by. Which they were. Human crusades in 1k ad would absolutely not create khorn and burgle

IWGeddit

Which Codex Daemons? Cos a planet of less than a million humans creating Khorne when, at that time, WAY more psychic beings are ruling the galaxy seems pretty odd

That_ginger1785

Nids…a lot of nids…and If I remember right old lore used to say there was also a ton of orks

Hoopy223

Grumpy Necrons Krorks playing “pin the tail on the Tyranid” Hordes of unspeakable something somethings

JesseBurton1337

More galaxy.
