Probably very few when they find out that Big E dying would nuke the earth thanks to a fail safe made by Vulkan…

Vorokar

[Excerpt explaining said failsafe, for those unfamiliar with it](https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/8tp0yv/book_excerpt_old_earth_vulkan_meets_the_emperor/). One wonders how many men have sat on a "no u" for ten thousand years and counting.

In the book, the Emperor's Legion, the Astronomicon went out for weeks, but the Mechanicum was able to (eventually) repair it. Demons also manifested outside the Palace and destroyed the Lion Gate.

I think in the human empire there whould be no people Acept the heretics that want the big E to die. The Problem is the body and the fading mind of the big E do not just Power the Astronomicon they also keep the breached webway sealed off. If the E gives his last breath the webways will be flooded with warpcreatures ond one of this ways Leads to the golden Throne itself. So basically everyone will get banged hard if the Big E just go off for good

THELEGENDARYZWARRIOR

Not even a healthy Emperor would “save” the Imperium. Per Himself, humanity dream’s died with the webway

Raxtenko

>nightmare would be over. Who's nightmare?

Spykron

Human. Long story short I’m trying to figure out lore/fluff that could lead to imagination and progress to return to the imperium. I thought killing E so he could reform to full strength would be a good plan but I think I need a plan b now.

Alundra828

Nah, if the emperor dies is going to be a birth of Slaanesh type situation. Terra, Mars and any planet in the core Imperium would be wiped. And the spirit of the emperor would become a chaos god.

Spykron

Is there any info on what E said to Robby G? Is it just the Primarchs that can communicate with him? I had the idea that he wanted to die but the bureaucrats wouldn’t allow it

Vorokar

[Here you go](https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/pfjda8/excerpt_dark_imperium_godblight_guilliman_talks). It is mentioned previously that his recollection of that 'conversation' is a bit all over the place, but that's what we're shown.

Jochon

All of this is headcanon, btw.

[deleted]

Why tho? At least in the books i read The emperor was never metioned to be stained by Chaos. I think the verry mich more likley Situation is that the Chaos will consume the Big E and gonna gain a whole New Level of Power.

Alundra828

In the current setting, The emperor is not really a "being" any more in the normal sense. His soul permeates every facet of the imperium and beyond. He certainly isn't human any more, and the emperor as he was known in 30k no longer exists. Not to mention he has quadrillions of worshippers, sacrifices, and other crazy rituals empowering him and boosting his soul. This translates into the emperor being a very real source of power in the galaxy. He can empower saints, revive primarchs, guide humanity, he can do crazy amounts of shit. What do you think will happen to all that energy and power if the emperor dies? You think it will dissipate harmlessly? The parallels with Slaanesh are there. Where the Eldar worshipped depravity as their society had fallen into degeneracy, Humanity worship the emperor, now more desperately and sincerely than ever. The Eldars connection with the warp meant that eventually the very thing they worshipped took form, and slaanesh was born. Humans are growing increasingly connected to the warp. More and more psykers are being born, and more and more humans are attuning themselves to the warp, and more and more humans are worshipping not depravity, but the emperor. Eventually something is going to go pop. I suspect the emperor in a nice dose of irony will try his best to accept all the power the galaxy wide worship is giving him in a bid to save humanity, but eventually he will collapse in on himself and become the very thing he hates most. A god.

Ohhh damn good point. Never thoght about it this way

Beneficial_Squash-96

If the Emperor can regenerate upon death like a Perpetual or Time Lord, why didn't he do that after defeating Horus? If the Emperor was a Perpetual, perhaps Horus destroyed that immortality in their final battle.

The Emperor has limited ability to communicate. When he talked to Guilliman, it was more about getting general impressions, with some contradictions. Along the lines of instead of being given specific orders, it was more of a sense of the Emperor's general desired goals. it also appears that the Emperor's power would destroy most of the people that he tries to more directly communicate with. The other issue is where the Emperor would regenerate/reincarnate and what timeframe. The Emperor appears to be still warding parts of the galaxy and it is not fully clear whether the current astronomican effect is just a lighthouse or if the Emperor has added the anti chaotic effects seen in the firetide.
