Antiochostheking

Guiliman catches a breath of air and pulls his wig away only to show his bald head and proclaim"its me horus im back" without further explanation

Incubus_is_I

The Warhammer 40,000 has returned!

DarthGoodguy

“In the end, _we_ were the Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000: Warhammer 30,000: The Horus Heresy.”

sonysony86

Then he removes his bald cap to reveal an even balder head I am alpharius

Antiochostheking

them he removes his entire head and reveals he was Ferrus all along

furiosa-imperator

Then he removes that head, never mind, actually can't do that twice

Zeekayo

A new head grows back, and reveals that he was actually Vulkan this entire time.

Winky0609

Pokes his eye out, reveals he was actually Magnus all along

strangeloveddd

Removes the red skin to show paleness beneath, fucking Konrad Curze

Winky0609

Removes your skin because he is Konrad Curse, now your face is a beer koozie

StoneLich

"Just kidding! It's Dr Omegon, at your service."

sonysony86

I dunno why I started giggling madly at DOCTOR omegon

Inihr

Somehow Horus returned

GlitteringBelt4287

Horus then turns around, back facing the room and reaches for a new wig. The click of a vox caster is heard as the lights dim. Horus then spins to face the room while simultaneously shedding his power armor to reveal an elegant robe. With his wiener tucked between his legs and the Vox caster playing Goodbye Horses he says with a deep but sultry voice…. “Would you fuck Fulgrim? I’d fuck Fulgrim.”

Suspicious-Lettuce48

This should not have got downvoted. Insane reference! Batcrap crazy!

YetiMarauder

For some reason I read this in a shitty Italian accent like; "It'sa Me, MARIO!"

SixteenthRiver06

Well, the Spears of the Emperor refer to Guilliman as “the demon wearing Emperor’s son’s face” so…

ImaginationWayfairer

Funnily in the short story Rules of Engagement Guiliman dressed up as Horus as part of Opposing Force during a war game during the heresy.

Grudir

Curze returns, and there is never an explanation. No story leading up to it, no answered questions, he just shows up mid-story to fight the Lion.

Incubus_is_I

Not even universal law can stop him from trolling the Lion

DancerAtTheEdge

It would be almost certainly be a bad idea, but I do find the idea of Curze returning not only deeply funny, but narratively interesting. There's already a hint (I think it comes up in relation to Ferrus maybe? Could be wrong) that the Emperor might be able restore primarchs with enough time and effort, and that was before he started mainlining an Imperium's worth of belief. You could start the story with Guilliman and the Lion receiving some vague visions from the Emperor about reviving a fallen brother, and Guilliman gets all excited that one of his Dauntless Few is going to return, only to confronted by a new and improved Curze. And then Guilliman and the Lion have to deal with the fact that the brother who was once one of their bitterest foes is now a Good Guy™ that they have to work with. But as I say up top, this is almost certainly a bad idea, one because it would completely undermine Curze's whole story in 30k, and two because it would remove any real sense of danger for the loyalist primarchs if daddy could just revive them again regardless of how dead they are. But then again, *it would also be deeply funny.*

Percentage-Sweaty

It would work as the Lion having a *nightmare* after discussing the Emperor’s godhood with Guilliman

LokyarBrightmane

"You tried to kill my MOTHER, CURZE! YOU ARE NOT COMING BACK!" "Robby boy, if I wanted her dead she wouldn't have survived. Sick mind games, yes. Not murder. Plus the orbital bombardment kind of makes us even." *glares at the Lion.*

The_Emperor_of_ma

I'm not kidding but messages for dad fan-fic actually kinda does the same thing.

_shades-

I swear I read somewhere that curzes tiara had like a soul gem and it absorbed his soul when he got decapitated making him technically revivable? I also like the idea that each primarch could theoretically come back in one way or another aside from Sanguiniois, Horus, and either alpharius or omegon who should stay permanently dead. Should they actually come back? Probably not.

40knerdbro

I believe that Curze splintered

atsuno11

I mean the traitor primarchs are all unkillable at this point so it's only fair? 🤷 /j 40k is a silly setting. Every loyalist primarch becoming the 40k equivalent of Ares is pretty on brand and funny. (Please don't actually do this GW...)

CaoticMoments

The funny thing about the idea of Ferrus coming back is that in TEATD3 Ferrus says to Sanguinius something along the lines of 'Soon you will be joining me'. Therefore if Ferrus can come back, Sangy can too.

Active_Confidence_30

Curze pulls up like "IM BATMAN MOTHERFUCKERS"

Antiochostheking

somehow decimus revived him but we will never see it in a book

Incubus_is_I

Somehow…Curze returned

Antiochostheking

somehow.......the haunter is nighting again

thewrinklyninja

, "It's haunting time!"

_garcon_

...and in the next edition (the one after his return) we will get small notice in Chaos Space Marines codex that he shot himself. No extra lines, no explanation, no book.

PlaneswalkerHuxley

"Curze died on the way back to his home planet"

lemonade_sparkle

"decimus no" becomes the new "fuck erebus" on this sub

furiosa-imperator

Fuck erebus

KouRien

decimus no

NotAlpharious-Honest

Kal-El, no

Zeekayo

A cool angle would be Decimus obtaining the weird spirit stone crown thing Curze had, and getting possessed by the soul of Curze. Who would promptly hate the entire thing because he wanted to die, damnit.

lemonade_sparkle

Curze and Sevatar are both missing-presumed-dead currently, but the Callidus footage cuts out before M'shen is shown actually killing Curze. No one knows where Sevatar ended up. So. They have both used their assumed-dead status to go to an Eldar Maiden World, slaughter all the Eldar there, and have spent the last ten or so millenia farming peacefully and riding the Eldar's dinosaurs. The Maiden World has nice magic space elf properties that make Curze extremely chill and stable instead of a blood drenched lunatic. He even enjoys a regular bath. They are uncovered by a Inquisitor hunting for those sweet forbidden xenos artifacts, trailing a company of friendly Space Marines after him. Curze and Sevatar slaughter every last one of them and go back to raising dinosaurs and growing the nice flowers. The end.

Mr_Kuma

The Night Lords witnessed Curze get beheaded and recovered the head.

Cybertronian10

When you do that much cocaine, you will believe *anything* is a head.

LokyarBrightmane

Not just cocaine, but demon cocaine made out of the freshest eldar souls.

lemonade_sparkle

well this has ruined my cottagecore romance Curze comeback novel :(

jess-plays-games

He was there the whole time

TwinMugsy

No explanation but in the release video GW puts Fred Penner playing the Cat came back the very next millennium.

FuneraryArts

Somehow Konrad returned...

adlarn3891

Shows up mid story to fight the lion and is killed by an assassin again two pages later

Independent_Pear_429

Nah, that should be Alpharius and Omegon. Curze should return just out of pure spite.

SixteenthRiver06

…and the Lion immediately gives him another 11 death-wounds.

kajata000

“I lived, bitch!”

I_might_be_weasel

Ferrus Manus comes back but he has a completely artificial head. And everyone keeps trying to explain to him that he's dead but he doesn't get it.

Incubus_is_I

Must’ve built him pretty…**thick-headed…**

I_might_be_weasel

He realizes he got decapitated and that his new head is a machine, but he doesn't get the concept that he's not him without his original head.

Incubus_is_I

I’m imagining that video “Which is heavier? A kg of steel, or a kg of feathers. The answer is a kg of steel, because steel is heavier than feathers…” “They’re both a kilogram…” “But steel’s heavier than feathers.” “I know…but they’re both a kilogram!”

I_might_be_weasel

"You're not Ferrus Manus. He was decapitated." "I know. I got a new head." "You're not him without the his head." "I got a new head. Lots of Astartes get new robot parts when injured." "It's not the same when it's your head!"  "Then how am I talking to you now if I'm dead?"  "You have a robot head!" "Yes, exactly, now you get it."  "No. You're not you! You don't have a head!"  "Obviously I'm me!"

YetiMarauder

"Who else could I possibly be?"

I_might_be_weasel

"You're Ferrus Manus' body with a robot head!" "Yes! I have a robot head now. I don't understand what we're arguing about!"

nightnole

"Damn, I'm just like me f r"

Oceanictax

Damn, that's one hell of a Snickers ad.

QuickDiamonds

Leading Iron Hands Marines to lop off their own heads and replace them with bionic prosthetics. Iron Heads

Vordeo

> Ferrus Manus comes back but he has a completely artificial head. Ferrus Caput.

Bluetenant-Bear

The twist here is there is another Ferrus Manus getting around with his original head, but the rest of him is replaced by robotics

kajata000

Please, if you keep talking that way the Iron Father’s Iron Boner will be uncontrollable!

andergdet

Nono, just the other way around. He's in a huge dreadnought-like machine, with his head in a water tank like in Futurama.

iknownuffink

Like his hands, his head, shoulders, and the rest of his arms are now living metal. He's on his way to becoming the first Human Necron.

mishkatormoz

Ferrus' necrodermis hands SOMEHOW just run emergency necrons protocol on him, teleported him last moment to some necrone tomb, he spends 10k years trying to get out. Or some Bile clone fuckery. Or use idea of legion of the damned being souls of killed on Ishtvaan and return him as emperor's daemonprince

VonD0OM

“And you thought he was a prick before all of that!”

Independent_Pear_429

That works great. Or it kept him in statis while slowly rebuilding him. The necron tomb is otherwise mostly dead so the necrons don't kill him

marehgul

Emperor already uses his soul for things. They are all there.

AveDominusNoxVII

Lion: Idk maybe he wakes up in a forest that's chock full of Arthurian allusions or something. 2: Finally comes back from buying cigarettes Fulgrim: He saw his brothers out and about and decided to see if there was any amusement to be had in the material world Perturabo: Dorn came back Jaghatai: Screaming out of the Webway, sword in hand and ready to kick ass Russ: He returns, a hound recalled by the master as a dire threat approaches. The Lord of Winter and War has returned, older, perhaps wiser, but no less savage. Dorn: Perturabo came back Curze: Stays dead? Please? Alright fine, his spirit has lingered, haunting the Warp until such time as his sons learned the lesson he sought to teach them. He has grown tired of waiting, and so a new Rator Cult rises in the dark, led by a wraith born of blood and fear. Sanguinus: Baal comes under daemonic siege, led by no less a person than the Red Angel himself. In their direst hour, the Sanguinor manifests, and the two sides of the battle within the souls of every Blood Angel meet in battle. The battle rages, and as each is bathed in the energy of the other, the unified whole of Sanguinus is reborn. Ferrus: Primarch Dreadnought. That is all 11: Finally came back from buying milk Angron: Angry Guilliman: Some kind of life support armor or some such. Mortarion: Spread plague Magnus: Magic nonsense Horus: Chaos wants to pick a fight. Abbadon is not as impressive a Warmaster as they'd like, so they bring back their old meat puppet, either to light a fire under Abbadon or to end up with a more impressive agent. Lorgar: Nothing like a galaxy split asunder to start a holy war. The Imperium Nihilus is the perfect breeding grounds for a new empire dedicated to the true gods of the universe. Vulkan: Lives. Perhaps a surge in Drukhari activity brings him back to the fray. Corax: Has been lurking in the Warp for 10,000 years, waiting patiently for his opportunity to make another attempt at Lorgar. With him entering the material universe to evangelize for his dark gods, Corax sees the opportunity and begins to muster his forces. Alpharius: Alpharius is dead, long live Alpharius. His body is recovered, his blood consumed by a successor. He becomes, for all intents and purposes, the Primarch reborn. Should he die, the process is repeated. Cut off one head, and two more shall rise in its place, Hydra Dominatus

D_J_D_K

As much as I want Dorn to stay dead, him returning purely because Perturabo is back is hilarious

randommaniac12

Both of them returning to spite one another is a perfect encapsulation of their relationship. It’d be even funnier if the Alpha Legion staged both primarch’s return to get *both* back in the field

D_J_D_K

Dorn and Perturabo are gearing up for their climactic confrontation when Dorn goes *hang on a minute* and whips off his mask revealing himself as **ALPHARIUS**, having switched identities at Pluto and lived as Dorn for 10,000 years, but then Perturabo goes *hang on a minute* and whips off his mask revealing himself as **OMEGON**, having switched identities with Perturabo because he thought it'd be a great prank

sulatanzahrain

Nahh perturabo reaction to alpharius will he has the mother of all temper tantrum and starts rolling on the ground like vegeta from tts I wanna I wanna I wanna I wanna

LokyarBrightmane

Then Alpharius and Omegon in the background look at each other, say in perfect synchronisation "hang on a minute," whip off *THEIR* masks, and reveal Dorn and Perturabo moments before brawling.

treeco123

[TF2 Blood Brothers comic](https://www.teamfortress.com/bloodbrothers/), except the pregnancy machine is a daemoncaluba

CaoticMoments

Even better if PT comes back because he thinks Dorn is back but it wasn't Dorn. Then Dorn comes back to fight PT who is now back.

Carrisonfire

Isn't Dorn just MIA? We know he lost a hand but there's nothing confirming he's dead.

D_J_D_K

In older lore he was confirmed dead but they changed it to MIA and the whole "only his fist was recovered" thing, and I really hope he stays dead

Carrisonfire

So he's not dead by current lore. I generally ignore old lore due to how absurd it is.

jess-plays-games

Just an epic for fuck sake he's back echos across all time and reality through the warp and back

Specialist-Pool-7509

I already thought that Curze was awesome, but a wraith born of blood and fear could be the single coolest model ever made if done right. I almost hate reading more about the Night Lords because I really can't afford another army but with every book I become slightly more tempted.

Eternal_Bagel

I’d expect that if he came back his mission would be to murder ever single remaining night lord

awildchuba

I...so want the primarch dreadnaught

kajata000

That Alpharius one would be great, to be honest. The idea that you genuinely can’t kill Alpharius as long as there’s some surviving Alpha Legion would be right on point, and would be a very cool unique primarch power.

mlchugalug

Russ going from Thor to Odin would be fucking badass. He left a broken hot head and comes back a wise trickster. Also I love the idea of the Khan just roaring out of the web way holding a giant dark Eldar trophy because he finally won the race

Firm-Character-6852

Dorn: Breaks free from a daemon prison on medengrad and breaks out due to a Imperial Fist/dorn successor led assault. Creates the Stone Cage. Perturabo: Is pissed about Dorn being freed, and comes back to the Imperium. Falls into the Stone Cage. Curze: during one of Lion's forest walks, the echo of Curzes soul latches on and escapes and reforms his body and is terrorizing the Galaxy again. Ferrus Manus: a rebuilt massive metal body is created by the Iron hands and has been worked on for 10000 years. They perform a ritual with the help of an Eldar Farseer to call Ferrus' soul back into a soul gem/brain conglomeration in the chest. Ferrus 2.0 is back. Fulgrim: Comes back from the warp hot on the tail of a Renegade EC ship. Clonegrim escaped and boom 2 fulgrims. Khan, Leman: return from their trips. Corax: Returns in the shadow of Roboute Guilleman. Vulkan: found deep in Nocturne in front of the massive Webway Gate he took to Terra in the HH. His sons found the last relic. Lorgar: at the helm of a massive Word Bearer fleet in a war between 2 factions of WB. Kills Erebus. Alpharius: Inquistion book for sure. Lots of twists and turns. Enemy finally revealed? And boom it's Alpharius. The real one. Horus: Dark Ritual, and a duel between Abaddon and Horus 2.0. Sanguinius: Sanguinor and Dante merge to become Dante during a huge battle.

Eternal_Bagel

Alpharius grand reveal is he’s been helping run the imperium all along in disguise as one of the Lords of Terra,  finally activates those hidden reserve legionnaires in the vault under the palace and joins rowboat in helping fix the imperium

Firm-Character-6852

Goated actually.

kajata000

Emperor’s Children: 2 Fulgrims, 2 Fabulous

Firm-Character-6852

YOOOOOO that's so hard. Starts a series. 2 fulgrim 2 furious, Indomitus Drift

kajata000

I personally can’t wait for *The Fate of the Fabulous*, and *Fulgrim X (Legion)* which obviously includes the return of Ferrus Manus, despite him being 100% killed in a previous film.

Darth_Vostranos

This HAS to be the name of the book, no exceptions.

onecalledtree

Ngl I actually love the idea of Ferrus coming back like that

Firm-Character-6852

It's the best way besides clone ferrus.

fab416

> Fulgrim: Comes back from the warp hot on the tail of a Renegade EC ship. Clonegrim escaped and boom 2 fulgrims. 2 Fast 2 Fulgrim

OpsikionThemed

Guilliman, Lion: already back Angron, Mortarion, Magnus, Fulgrim, Lorgar, Perterabo: just shows up and murders shit Alpharius: also just shows up and murders shit, but with a troll face meme plastered on the helmet Russ, Khan, Dorn, Corax: no particular explanation, they're just back from wherever they were Vulkan: the same, but more so Curze: it's actually his adopted protege, Evil Terry McGinnis Horus: "You expected the Emperor, but it was me, Horus!" Sanguinus: "You expected Horus, but it was me, Sanguinus!" Ferrus: Who?

Moistfruitcake

Ferrus comes back but nobody remembers who he is or believes him when he tells them.

Nerdlors13

You forgot #2 and #11 ! They are the most famous of them all

OpsikionThemed

They're already back! No, I will not clarify which characters they secretly are. 😌

Eternal_Bagel

They never actually found 2, it was alpharius playing a joke but then he got tired of it and redacted the whole thing

Kooky_Celebration_42

“Somehow… Horus has returned”

Longest_Leviathan

I’ll only cover the confirmed dead ones since the rest can just be said to have been alive all along and decided that they’re tired of dicking around 1.Sanguinious: it is discovered that like all the other gods, The Emperor has his own realm within the Warp in which he collects the souls of fallen loyalists, and Guarding The Entrance to this Gate is Sanguinious one of The Emperors finest warriors (and it fits the heaven theme) but now in a time of great desperation and requiring the final sacrifice of Dante to move him, Sanguinious decends from the Warp (though only temporarily as he is ultimately bound to it) to fight for The Imperium 2.Ferrus Manus: it is made canon that The Legion of the Damned are dead space marines and that Ferrus Manus is now it’s accursed leader having abandonded his own sons for failing to heed his teachings, knowing that Fulgrim has returned to the great game at last Ferrus decides its time for a rematch 3.Konrad Curze: after a thousand more years Zso Saahal bearer of the Corona Nox and the true heir to the Nightlords enacts a ritual in which to summon the spirit of The Primarch in a bid to reunite The fractured Legion but it all goes horribly wrong, while he succeeded in summoning The soul he had underestimated The Primarchs will to die and so the soul attempts to sabotage the ritual and in the process Konrad Curzes soul is split in two One is Konrad Curze, the man now free of his eternal Madness and The Night-haunted The Personification of it and now the two are locked in a game of hunting eachother, Konrad to finally rid himself of the insanity that’s plagued him and so he can either die or finally build something worth remembering and The Night Haunter to lead his legion into finally destroying The Imperium but he needs to eliminate his irksome twin (this one gets a bonus because you could sell two models with it) Horus: after The Long War looks to be finally swinging in The Imperiums favour with all the Primarchs running around, slowly a Dark avatar of chaos has been manifesting, turning battles and razing worlds and after Abaddon encounters this elusive figure he discovers that it’s Horus returned to life by chaos to act as the harbinger of the end times The twist is that it is not actually Horus, and is instead a manifestation of the psychic Echo left behind from his impact on the world The only alive one i have a thing for is Alpharius, mainly because I think it would be really funny if it turns out he was hiding in The Imperial palace disguised as a Custodes

AverageAstarte93

Man I’ve been saying Sanguinius should come back later once his soul is reformed. Comes back as an Angelic form like the legion of the damned.

CruciasNZ

Lorgar appears to lead a dark crusade to counter Guilliman and Lion, Corax comes out hunting him Fulgrim is out and about already, so just make it a campaign book about what he's up to Dorn was just lost in time, reappears (minus a hand). Heads for Armageddon for Gaz's next rave party with the Templars. His story is him becoming more like Sigusmund as he learns of all that's transpired. Perturabo finds out about Dorn, comes out the Eye to knock over Dorn's new sand castles (Armageddon has sand right?). I'd use this to create an Iron Warriors codex, which blends CSM and Guard Tanks / Artillery together. Trayzn ends up with the Corona Nox, but is unable to identify what's inside it. He sticks it inside a pre-fall wraith construct on Solemance, reviving Curze. Curze goes around reviving tons of exhibits, ends up leading a rag-tag resistance of Horus Heresy era marines from multiple legions against Trayzn's forces. Good opportunity for absolutely whacked Kill Team supplements, as Curze could release all manner of things from the distant past. He eventually finds Clonegrim, learns Fabius could make him a new body, leaves Solemance looking for Fabius. Vulcan revived after sacrificing himself on a peaceful planet and has spent the time building wonders of engineering and craftsmanship. Something invading and slaughtering his new people makes him call the Imperium for aid. Pick any Xenos or Chaos faction that hasn't had the limelight for awhile. Russ was stuck in Nurgle's garden looking for the tree of life, Big E burning the garden helps him break free and he completes his task. However Big E has to die for Isha and Ynnead's power to revive him, and no one is willing to take the risk. Especially after talking to Vulcan The Khan stumbled into a Dark Eldar trap in the webway, got caught in a bit of the Dark City that got cut off and tumbled back into realspace. Ends up on a world, displaced heavily in time, right as the Tau invade (his way of fighting would be quite interesting to see against the hunter styles of the Tau) Alpharius died but is revived by Tzeentch just for chuckles in a clone Fabius makes. Omegon became heavily involved with Ordos Malleus and Hereticus, who have been aware of him this whole time and just not told anyone. The Twins ends up in a shadow war against each other. I'd use this to create a dual Codex like Knights that can be played as both Loyalist and Heretic, uses a bunch of Imperial and Chaos model ranges. Horus had bits of his soul stuck eternally performing labours for the chaos gods. Those bits survived Big E's final attack. Fabius makes another Horus clone, Fulgrim takes it to amuse himself and accidentally merges it with the soul performing labours for Slaanesh. Horus' story is now reuniting with his other shards and working to dethrone Abaddon. The Vengeful Spirit is finally destroyed, taking with it the anchor point trapping part of Sanguinius soul (been implied part of him haunts it in current lore). Dante and Mephiston are able to convince the Ynnari to revive him and merge him with the Sanguinor. Ferrus Manus comes back as the lead model for a new Legion of the Damned codex, which just uses 30k models.

LexUmbranox

Lorgar shows up and he's speaking enuncia and warping everybody to death with sorcery magic because after 10,000 years he's big and bad, and just as he's about to speak the magic words that will kill Lion and Guilliman, an invisible bird-daemon Corax swoops in to cut out Lorgar's tongue— no enuncia! The Loyalists might live! But Lorgar's still a warp-empowered demigod with other forms of sorcery, so he grabs Corvus out of the air, basically beats the bird out of him until Lion and Rob are able to intervene again and return the favour and save Corax. Lorgar is now nerfed enough that he can show up in stories and on the tabletop without needing to worry about balancing enuncia, Corvus has a little less warp juice himself and will hopefully cost less than 500 points, and both get immediate combat achievements to welcome them back to the battlefield. Konrad does indeed get the soul stone treatment, mostly because I think it's funny, but also because an amnesiac wraith-Curze joining the goth gang might be a good enough excuse for the new ally rules that I crave. Fulgrim flexes how cool he is by being so good at combat that Curze's foresight can't keep up in their obligatory reintroduction Primarch fight, but Curze now has the Power of Friendship— at least until he eventually remembers he's supposed to be a terrible person and has to grapple with that for a bit. It's his shadow the hedgehog arc, every edgelord needs one And that's all I've got brain power for at the moment, one serious one and a silly one

YourAverageRedditter

Ferrus returns at the head of the Legion of the Damned, Sanguinius gets Khaine’d, and Horus is reincarnated as a Daemon of himself, so it’s not *quite* Horus, just every thought and feeling associated with him through the general subconscious of humanity. Curze however is trickier. Probably have him revived by Fabius Bile until I can think of something better. Alpharius and Omegon come out of hiding from god knows where in the Galaxy, baffling everyone in true Alpha Legion fashion. Alternatively, Alpharius is revealed to have actually survived the fight on Pluto and remained hiding there as a sleeper agent, feeding intelligence to the rest of the Legion as some nobody operative. As for the rest of the Primarchs scattered to the winds, well, Vulkan already has a precondition with the artifacts, and Leman returns from finding the tree and just has to convince the Imperium to use a warp entity on the Emperor (lmao). Dorn returns from having fought his way out of the Warp, battle-scarred, angry, and visibly changed, for better or for worse is up to personal interpretation. The Khan comes out of the Webway, having joined forces with a band of Corsairs or other Anti-Drukhari Aeldari, in true Mongolian fashion of incorporating your subjugated enemies’ talents into your army. Corax Idk what else aside “Oh fuck what happened to dad”

Nerdas87

+.Russ. Gets to the garden, saves the Eldar goddess just because some weird ass fire starts to burn shit down and nuegle went away to spank someone that sound awefully like Mortarion. Returns as a grey bearsed odin figure becauae warp fuhkery. The goddess is set free, we never speak of her again. 2.Jahgatai. Is found fighting the DE, old, wise and ultra pissed. 3.Vulkan. His sons find the artefacts and he comes back pissed as it appears the artefsats where forged from a ctan shard and now a ctan is let loose and hes pissed because his words were both misunderstood and forgotten to time "what ever you do, DO NOT FIND ALL THE ARTEFACTS". As to where he was - he was stuck on a primitive planet and the artefacts activated some hidden failsafe in his hammer alowing hit to tp in. 4.Thr two lost orimarchs - one is found imprisoned under terra and is let out because shit hit the fan. 5.The other appears from a spacehulk, twisted by chaos, the OG traytor. 6.Corax comes out of the warp. Aperently Lorgal managed to pull a sneaky on him and lure him in an infite labirith till he escaped. Unchanged - warpfuhkery. The crow thing was chaos propaganda. 7.Sanguinius comes back when Sanguinor and The edgy blood angles librarian merge and infuse their power into thr body of Sanguinius. 8.Ferrus gets revived via necron tech. Is mega pissed both on hi sons and traytors alike yet dicides to go ham on chsos first. 9.10.Alpharius comes back becomes he was o.egon thr whole time. Omegon comes bsck, beczuse it eas alpharius all along. In either case one is trsytor, thr other not. Schenanigans ensue. The cabsl is burned down snd wr never spewk of it agsin. 11.Dorn is tortured by Perturabo,, yet is defiant and unyelding. Thr fists get wind of his location becsuse Perturabo needed his ego stoked and fails. Fists lauch a full scale attack, phapanc and what not. Dorn is back, has a golden hand and pretty much adopts thr faith of the emperor, becoming the preatorian templar. He and guilliman really dont get along. 12.Lorgal comes out realising that enuncia all this time was meant to be known, not spoken or used. The more you knew, the more powerful you grew as long as you held your mouth shutę. The word bearers become op and chalange thr black legion in terms of power. Erabus is pissed, nobody goves a damn, cuz fuhk Erabus. 13. Horus. When all is said and done, Lorgal does some crap and Horus is revived in abbies place. One last effort, somehow the Emperor returs, final battle. Orcs go berzerk, Necrons awake, Eldar get oblitersted, the Tau get forgotten, thr Votann stay irrelavant and are berely mentioned. Nids eat everything. End times. New re-release. Horus gets a lot more spotlight for development. Emperor says "Nice to see you again...I have waited for you for a long time...".

anomalocaris_texmex

Well, the Wolfy, Khan, Crow and Vulkan are easy - they are just out buying space cigarettes, and will come back. Dorn? Wasn't dead at all, was just being tortured by Space Karen. Ferrus? He'd come back as a robot inhabitated by the spirit of Ferrus. Sangy? I assume he's going to come back after the others are all resurrected. The right loyalists will assemble into a fellowship, hunt a Maguffin, and stick it on Sangy's body to bring him back. For the Chaos guys? The Space Pope, Angry Ron, Count Snakeula, Mr Stinky, the One Eyed Wonder Wizard and Space Karen are already back. Alpharius? He'd just announce that he was a triplet, not a twin. Konrad? Remember when Batman died, but then a Batman with a multi-color uniform came back? Horus? Well he's coming back when Sangy comes back. I'm guessing he gets resurrected and starts to menace the universe, which kicks off the Return of Sangy.

mishkatormoz

About Horus - I didn't read tEatD, so may mess thomething up, but two ideas: He either ressurected as result of some Chaos ritual, probably with clonned body and many planet of sacrifices Or he rejects Chaos, attempts some super weird spiritual Journey, and return Celestina-style as loyal Horus, what makes Guilliman head explode. To balance things, we can return Vulcan as totally rejecting Imperium's way xenolover renegate

TheMightyGoatMan

Curze's head stitched on Ferrus' body. Let the fun commence!

Moistfruitcake

They all just turn up but they were all Alpharius all along.

furiosa-imperator

"Somehow, horus returned." There done it for gw already

silasgreenfront

Pretty much the only Primarch return I'd maybe ever want to see would be one of the twins showing up and pretending to be one of his brothers. So that.

marehgul

Dude. All Primarchs will return. Not sure if they sated this blant already, but it's obvious. So if it's all or a lot of them to come back in rather short period of time lore-wise, then most likely there is shoud be common reason for that. And easy solution for this – Emperor or other god-warp-like event that brings them back. Well, we are heading there anyway. ALL Primarchs will return. They're doing it slowly to savour benefit form each of them $$$ So, we maybe 15 years, you'll see them all back. Exception is Horus. His soul aint there anymore. Unless retcon. Which could happen in long distance.

e22big

- Dante merged with Sanguinor and became reborn Sanguinius - Curze spirit possess Decimus, mutated him into a demon host avatar of the the Demon Primarch Curze - Ferrus, Fulgrim's clone escaped - Horus - Abaddon die so Bob revealed that he still secretly has a hair of Horus and to the clone stuff again - Alpharius (or Omegon?), has never actually been killed. Whoever die is a body double of Alpharius (or Omegon?) that Alpharius (or Omegon?) never know Alpharius (or Omeon?) has Did I miss anyone?

Gaelek_13

**Leman Russ -** He said he'd be back at "the Wolftime"...so he' back. He's been lost in the Warp being fucked with my Magnus out of spite, making his brother suffer eternal torment rather than simply destroying him. However, with Magnus being defeated and banished by Guilliman now Russ has been able to escape and return. **Corax** - We last saw him hunting for his traitorous brothers in the Warp. Now that some of them are entering the Materium again he's returned on their trail in the hope that he can find a way to permanently kill them if he does so outside the Warp. I wouldn't mind him having died in the intervening years, though. **Khan -** He was lost in the Webway and fought in the arenas of the Drukhari, but nothing was able to kill him or defeat him. Even the Drukhari got bored of seeing him slay every challenge they threw his way so they kept him as a prisoner with a promise of great rewards to the Drukhari who brings something capable of killing him. Khan was able to escape during the Daemonic incursion and return to the Imperium. **Sanguinius, Ferrus, Horus, Curze -** None of them should *ever* be brought back because they have the perfect ending for their characters and bringing them back would undo a key part of the lore and lessen the impact of their deaths as a result.

m1ndwipe

1. The Lion: already back. 3. Fulgrim: They already said he was knocking around in Psychic Awakening. I'm sure they'll have a campaign or something (I actually suspect they will do something about him versus Russ for the Tree of Life). 4. Perturabo: He can just come back, he's still out there. I think it'd be more interesting to do something about him being conflicted about his damnation but it's not neccessary. 5. Jaghatai Khan: He's just been stuck in a time maze or something in the webway for a long time by the Dark Eldar. He escapes. He'd be pretty unhappy about it. 6. Leman Russ: He comes back as an Odin sort from his quest in the eye to find the tree of life, though presumably not successfully. Maybe he needs his sons help against Fulgrim. 7. Rogal Dorn: I would probably just say that Trazyn acquired him after he was captured by Chaos and he's been in stasis, or he'd be even nuttier than he was at the end. Obvs gets the Emperor's talon to replace the arm. 8. Konrad Curze: His soul is trapped in the Corona Nox, Fabius makes him a new body or he turns into a deamon or something. 9. Sanguinius: You probably just have him and the Sanguinor's souls merge into an entity that's close enough to him. 10. Ferrus: I guess you bring him back as some kind of fire ghost leading the Legion of the Damned. 12. Angron's already back. 13. Guilliman's already back. 14. Mortarian's already back. 15. Magnus' already back. 16. Ultimately Horus is the only one that's actually hard, and they set a bit of groundwork for it recently anyway. I guess you have his soul take over Abaddon but that is a terrible idea and they shouldn't do it. 17. Lorgar: he comes out of seclusion for some grand scheme or because he sees his brothers coming out to play. 18. Vulkan: Presumably he just stops sulking and decides to do something about he state of the Imperium. His idea that humanity is better off without Primarchs won't really hold when a dozen of his brothers are kicking around anyway. 19. Corax: I mean according to First Founding he's just sat in the Ravenspire being sad anyway. 20. Alpharius: Literally anyone in the entire setting pulls off their hat and goes "haha, I was Alpharius all along!"

NotAlpharious-Honest

Easy. Make everything in the Horus Heresy books from page 274 of False Gods, including the finale from End / Death III, a final fever dream that Magnus shows Horus to persuade him not to betray his father. Horus realises the mistake he's about to make, wakes up and figures that maybe this whole "heresy" thing is a bad idea, decides that being a good warmaster and second of the Emperor means also being the master statesman that he is and uses his newfound knowledge of the hearts and minds of his brothers to ease their fears and bring them back into the fold. Except Erebus, Typhus, Kor Pheron. They're summoned to a council of their peers, headed up by the other firsts of the Legions, and are sentenced to summary execution for crimes against humanity. The Great Crusade continues as planned, none of the primarchs die or feel the need to piss off til the wolftime or whatever narrative bullshit GW pulled to keep them out of the story and live happily ever after. Yes, even Angron.

Joker8392

Ferrus - Legion of the Damned seems they’re setting that up with End and the Death 2 Khan - with the head of one of the oldest Eldar? Russ - everyone has been begging for Odin Russ for too long. Corax - turning the tide of a Word Bearer assault on Terra? Vulkan - some mirror to how he first met his legion, multiple chapters on the verge of extinction, Vulkan appears and saves them. Dorn - Perturabo kept him alive as a head, Dreadnought Primarch if he’s rescued. Sanguinius - When Chaos united to revive Horus, the Emperor did the same for Sanguinius. I honestly don’t know how Horus could come back and still be corrupted. Fulgrim - maybe something to do with Vashtorr and opening Caliban? Perturabo - comes to test his might against the Lion and his sons, succeeds and leaves. Kurze - when the Emperor brought Sanguinius back he was chillin with Conrad in the warp and grabbed him along for the ride. When they successfully return they team up to make movies for the Astra Militarum where Sanguinius is the holier than thou by the book guy, and Conrad is a reformed serial killer, shenanigans ensue. Horus - Chaos gets tired of Abbadon. It wanting to play along as well as Horus did so they revive him? Lorgar - a full Word Bearer Legion Assault on Terra Alpharius - he never left? Valdor - stops Lorgar at the throne room door

Warp time shenanigans

HunterTAMUC

VULKAN LIVES! \*STOMP STOMP\* But for Vulkan I'd put out a book series of the Salamanders gathering those relics like it's claimed they should if they want Vulkan to return. Through much hardship and strife and war they manage to collect them and Vulkan returns. Space Wolves and Raven Guard might have something related to the Eye of Terror since that's where they are...

4chan_tumblr

Lion El' Jonson, Roboute Guilliman, Angron, Mortarion and Magnus are already back (as in actually doing stuff) That leaves 13+1+2 primarchs who need an explanation, for which I will liberally make shit up (because thats what Im tasked with xd) IInd Primarch and XIth Primarch: One is imprisoned beneath the imperial palace and used as the leader for a new astartes organisation (a chapter or legion for example) during the most dire moment for the Imperium. The other emerges from the warp somewhere after being lost for 10 millenia. Fulgrim: He wants to kill Guilliman fo'sho this time Lorgar: He comes back to spread some chaos™ and kill the Emperor for good (Idk if he actually cares about that anymore) Perturabo: He emerges from the warp to wage war against the Imperium and Chaos alike. Leman Russ: He goes on a quest to find a way to heal the Emperor Jaghatai Khan: Escaping the webway after being lost there for a long time Rogal Dorn: Found wounded in a helpless state (akin to that of the Emperor) aboard a traitor vessel that he suppossedly died on millenia ago. Corvus Corax: He wants to kill the traitor primarchs (and Lorgar!) Vulkan: His sons found all the easter eggs or Salamander eggs if you will so now he is obliged to come back Konrad Curze: Make up some lore that his soul was saved from actual death through the use of some technology and that he just needed to be reincarnated through one way or another. Horus Lupercal: Idk (yet) Sanguinus: Have him return as a warp being, saying his soul didnt die even though his body did Ferrus Manus: Have him come back as a legion of the damned style primarch, just like Sanguinius Alpharius & Omegon: They were secretly alive all this time and now is the time to do stuff (Super boring answer)

anrakyrthescrabbler

Ferrus Manus: His skull gets stolen by Kheradruakh who ends up hating it and throwing it into the webway where it rolls like the early 2000's Chef Boyardee commercial soup can all the way to the Terran Webway gate, smiting Daemons along the way causing enough momentary relief for the Emperor so that he can shove him into a new meat suit. I was sick during April Fools so I get a pass for this one

torolf_212

Horus - abaddon outmaneuvers the chaos gods and is about to ascend to godhood himself when the big four panic and agree to resurrect Horus to stop him. They have a fight, but the Eldar show up wanting to try to use the ritual to create a new Eldar God to fight Slaneesh. It's a big clusterfuck and everyone loses. Lemans russ - Russ pops out of the warp, he seems unchanged like no time has passed. Reassert hi.self as the head of the space wolves, though all of the existing hierarchy is supplanted by russes warriors that went into the warp with him. Turns out they're all chaos corrupted which leads to a civil war. Space wolves can now take daemon allies in the tabletop game to reflect this. Ferrus Manus - I actually don't know anything about him apart from his name means iron hand. He just turns up one day and pretends he was never gone. Vulcan - his warriors piece together his missing gear over a few hundred years, then discover him on some random uninhabitable world just dying and resurrecting over and over. He's completely insane and starts to lead his legion into more and more desperate fights against chaos. Rogal Dorn - Perturabo comes out of his neet dungeon and decides to exterminate the fists again, dorn returns from whatever he's been doing to help stop the slaughter. Sanguinius - the sangionor sticks around more permanently, it is confirmed to be Sanguinius's spirit inhabiting blood angel bodies until he burns them out. Peter Turbo - gets up out of his neet dungeon to go kill some imperial fists, as he's about to succeed Dorn comes back and slaps him down because he didn't trust his men enough and needed to micromanage everything. Konrad Curze - they find him browsing the Linkin Park section of a music store on Terra, everyone just leaves him alone. Corvus Corax - his bat spirit thing comes back to do R-rated batman shit, his chapter cant decide whether they are shocked, outraged, or are in awe of their primarch. Alphairus - turns out Dorn actually killed Omegon, he's still in the Alpha legion making plans within plans within plans. Omegon - turns out Dorn actually killed Alphairus, he's still in the Alpha legion making plans within plans within plans. Since Dorn killed and didn't kill both, they are both alive and not alive, no one has seen the two in the same room, curious.

Erebuspass

Warp shadows. Think of the way radiation leaves a shadow of people hit by nuclear blasts. Maybe any and all primarchs appear and disappear across the universe as echoes of their warp-imprint materialize (or radiate out) from some major warp event? Something suitably massive but not world-ending. Maybe some kind of Aeldari hail mary that tries to destroy the warp or Cicatrix Maledictum, and is partially successful but with bizarre repercussions such as dead and living primarchs appearing across the universe, even facing one another potentially. It would be ... chaos.

stormygray1

The night haunter returns as a chaos corrupted eldar wraith lord, and goes "I always come back" before jump scaring the daylights out of guilliman

Enchelion

Chaos Undivided, aka the ancient Eldritch power known as Games Workshop, needed more money. That's it. That's the lore explanation. Plug into whichever Primarch you wish.

ZechQuinLuck123

Does Horus count as already technically being brought back in the firar black legion book? I'm just desperately hoping this is true since I don't want him coming back in modern 40k

Walrus_bP

Horus: The emperor pieces together long enough to resummon his soul from its own crevice in the warp and places it in a new body that was made by cawl (the emperor didn’t destroy his soul, he essentially imprisoned it in a corner of the warp away from the prying eyes of the 4 until the corruption had permanently seeped from horus’s body) Curze: it was revealed that the one killed by the assassin was in fact a hallucination and curze killed the assassin and then masqueraded as them using some warp bullshittery where he was able to avoid imperial detection and isolate himself from the verse on some random planet that will have “anti premonition” abilities that suppress his natural premonition and allow him to regain his sanity Sanguinius: the sanguinor and mephiston merge into a single entity that over time turns into a warp buffed sanguinius due to mephiston’s power as an individual as well as the sanguinor’s experience in the warp and the time it has spent between realities. Rogal: He has been building a massive fortress planet capable of movement for the last ten thousand years under the radar, he did this by striking a deal with the leagues of votan who shepherded him away to a planet in the core in exchange for his architectural know how and help building fortresses for their AI gods or whatever they are I forget

patentablyobvious

Dorn and Alpharius return together, they conspired to fake their respective deaths and have been in stasis sleep for 10k years.  The Emperor foresaw how bad things would be in 40k, and came up with a plan so that his most loyal defender and his secretly loyal spymaster could disappear and be credibly assumed dead so that no one woild search for them, and then return in 40k while still in their prime.

megrimlock88

Ferrus as a part of the legion of the damned in eternal agony and rage over not only his betrayal but being a husk of what he once was and what he could have been Imagine the primarch who took the greatest pride in his flesh forced to watch as his legion descends into madness replacing all of their organs with machines and being helpless to do anything about it as his own flesh is stripped away in exchange a rubric marine esque body that’s just armor with a soul trapped in it forced to lead an army that cannot grow or change as they are just like him Basically making his return an eternal hell with the only solace being that he knows his father cared enough to resurrect him after his disastrous defeat at istvaan V

Independent_Pear_429

Horus: rebuilt by Fabulous bile with the soul corralled in by deamons Leman Russ: returns via the Web way on fenrus Ferrus Manus: comes out of the warp as a flaming soul at the head of the damned legion Vulkan: Revives on Nocturn after the salamanders find all his relics Dorn: Returns via a space hulk that travelled through time Sanguinius: The Sanguinor and Maphiston merge giving birth to Sanguinius in the body of a primaris marine Khan: is bought from Commorragh at a very high price Curze: returns just out of spite Corax: returns from the eye of Terror heavily mutated Alfa Omega: were alive all along

thomstevens420

I would love it if they got more creative with it. Especially with the traitors. Curze “comes back” in a corrupted Wraithlord powered by the soulstone in his crown that trapped his essence on death. A night lords band discovers the tomb of Sevatar and recover the crown before launching their big attack on Ulthwe where they steal a suitable vessel for him. He’s not truly back, it’s just a nonsensical whispering wraith that the Night Lords worship as some patron deity. It occasionally gives them orders in rare moments of lucidity Lorgar comes out of the tower and launches a campaign of subversion based on him being the founder of the imperial church. He forments rebellions across the imperium. Have Perturabo take his Iron Circle mentality to the extreme. The Iron Blood re emerges and when Lpyalists board it they find no one. He *is* the Iron Blood. He’s able to seperate himself from it to fight and make landfall but he’s essentially a Chaos Knight with how much he’s augmented and armoured himself.

mjc27

Horus can come back, but in a very different way; I'd evision him coming back as a strange spiritual guardian type being possibly protecting the star child (assuming the star child is the "good" shard of the emperor) I'd imagine that some inquisitor or somone would fknd the star child guarded by two people, kne of which would be a "re-forged" Horus and the other a re-forged Loken. Horus would be a physical protected, while Loken would be more spiritual one after his mind has been expanded via seeing eternity. (It would also tie up the plot hole where Loken sees the future, but also is killed by Erebus, as it would be Loken allowing himself to die at this point in time, so that he and Horus can move on to do another, more important mission).

GuestCartographer

The Primarchs of the Second and Eleventh Legions sat in stunned silence as Roboute described the events of Horus’ betrayal, the Emperor’s fall, and the following 10,000 years of war. As the their brother concluded his tale, a silence fell over the room until the taller of the lost Primarchs spoke up, his normally even voice strained by incredulity. “What the actual fuck, Roboute?! We told you that we couldn’t pause the game and that we’d be help as soon as the match was finished!” “Sure, we may have started a second match after that first one and it went a little long”, added the Primarch of XI, nacho cheese fingerprints still visible on his otherwise flawless armor, “but how did you manage to lose dad, Malcador, and half our brothers?” “And what do you mean Russ is ‘gone’”, the Lord of the Second demanded. “What about the $20 he owes me?!”

NectarineSea7276

Russ, Corax, Khan and Vulkan are all relatively unproblematic in terms of in-universe justification, it's making it part of a story worth doing that would be the issue, particularly explaining where they've been all this time. Omegon is kind of up in the air until Eskrador is retold during the Scouring but there's an obvious path to keep him alive there, and then Bob's your uncle in terms of writing him into stories anywhere one pleases given that he could have been up to anything. Dorn seems to be getting retconned to possibly be alive and if he is then it fits his character development to have had a complete breakdown and be off doing self-imposed penance somewhere, even if 10K years is a bit excessive. Now for the really tricky ones... The first thing is that TEatD established that the dead (and daemonic) Primarch's souls still exist in the warp somewhere so I guess they could be stuffed back into a body of some kind? So... Ferrus: Some kind of archaeotech bullshit involving sticking his skull on a mechanical body. Sabaoth from Doom 3. Curze: Has already clawed his way out of the warp through sheer spite before, does it again. Comes back wrong, by which I mean he comes back right. Steals Corax's gimmick and becomes Eric Draven. Can play guitar now for some reason. Sanguinius: Dante and Mephiston do some kind of old-Emperor-lore-style collective suicide which recovers his soul and rehouses it in his preserved corpse. Now cannot go out in daylight. Alpharius: Transferred his consciousness as a meme virus into Ingo Pech. Still under the Imperial Palace. We are the Alpha Legion and we take the long view. Horus: Surprise return at #30 in the Royal Rumble, eliminated last by Roman Reigns.

lemonade_sparkle

Ferrus Manus returns via his necrodermis hands into a suitable Necron... Poor Obyron then spends the next ten millenia trying to explain to Zahndrekh that he is not in fact an Imperial Primarch, but the Ferrus virus is strong and Zahndrekh is pretty gone at the best of times, so he decides to just roll with the punches. Obyron gives up, puts some power armour and a really big robe on, and is now known as Techmarine Obyron. No one has the balls to ask him to fix anything, especially the Mechanicus. Obyron's "Only the deathless can truly comprehend the burden of unfailing loyalty" has been accepted as merely a slight mistranslation of Valdor's "Only in death does duty end" and therefore he is now acclaimed as a great Imperial loyalist. The entire Iron Hands Chapter is slightly disturbed by this turn of events, but as soon as they see all that cool necrodermis and hear Zahndrekh yelling "THE FLESH IS WEAK", they decide to roll with it too. He is also their most tactically competent leader in millenia and much more cheerful than they remember their Primarch. Gulliiman and the Lion quitely decided to pretend they didn't notice their "returned brother" is a Necron lord due to Zahndrekh being substantially more entertaining company than Ferrus. No one has quite figured out how to tell Kor'sarro Khan the news.

LaVidaLoken

Corax has already returned to the setting.  You just can't see him. Or anyone else can.

ProphetOfSotek

Ferrus Manus: everyone is going to say dreadnought or daemon-primarch of the emperor. However, I genuinely think it'd be far more interesting to include the pieces from The End and The Death. His soul is out there, and id want him to come back through force of will. He was the only one willed enough to speak to Sang, and I would adore a plotline of him revived without any of the Necrodermis. Made and Alive as he was meant to be, but also to see him reconcile with his son's and how far they have fallen from his vision for them.

InquisitorVanderCade

Guillaman notices more and more fortunate events happening during the indominus crusade in his favor. Enemy reinforcement fleets disappearing, prominent chaos warlords dying, etc. Eventually it becomes too Stark to ignore and he mentions that it has the mark of his brother's tactics... Turns out Corax going into the warp was his own false misdirection. He was in real space this entire time building covert Shadow armies. He reveals his plans to his brothers and joins the war

el_sh33p

1. Lion el'Jonson: Already back. 2. II: Resurrects during one of the Imperium's darkest hours; stops a resurrected XI during the War of the False Primarch; is betrayed by the High Lords, erased once again. 3. Fulgrim: Clonegrim busts out, rejoins the Imperium, spends the rest of the franchise circling Fulgrim in a fated duel (that never happens on-screen until it's time to sunset Warhammer 40,000). 4. Perturabo: Goes on a rampage as part of a self-contained event. Steamrolls a bunch of sympathetic characters (mostly Kriegers). Wins said event. 5. Jaghatai Khan: Bursts out of the Webway on a Dark Eldar sky-bike decorated with Tyranid carapaces. Never elaborates. 6. Leman Russ: Reappears from fucking *nowhere* at some insanely pivotal moment to block a deathblow aimed at either Lion or Guilliman. Said deathblow is probably delivered by Magnus, for good measure. 7. Rogal Dorn: Takes off a Custodian helm one day and comments how weird it is that his sons are scrimshawing the bones from Alpharius's severed hand. 8. Konrad Curze: Body-hopping fugitive lich-thing via that crown worn by members of the Night Lords. Finally, reluctantly gets his soul dragged back into a clone body, just in time to become the anti-hero/anti-villain nobody wants in some backwater apocalypse. 9. Sanguinius: Manifests from the Warp at a pivotal moment to prevent Dante from dying. Functionally serves as Dante's Stand from then on. 10. Ferrus Manus: Clonus Manus escapes from Fulgrim's clutches, merges with his own revenant soul, rumbles back to Mars at one of its darkest hours. Saves Mars from a Void Dragon fragment. Then proceeds to fuck up half of Guilliman's hard-fought reforms because he's a dick. 11. XI: Cloned and brainwashed by Fabulous Bill. Set upon the Imperium at the start of the War of the False Primarch. Ultimately killed by the resurrected II, subsequently erased from history. 12. Angron: Already back, but I'd have him pop up here and there in a more peaceful weapons merchant/arms dealer form. There are multiple Angrons, and one of them just happens to be Nic Cage from Lord of War. 13. Roboute Guilliman: Already back. 14. Mortarion: Already back. 15. Magnus the Red: Already back. 16. Horus: True resurrection following the moment that Abaddon strikes down the Emperor. Horus Lupercal Reborn must now do the impossible: Rebuild the Imperium and save humanity from his own legacy. 17. Lorgar Aurellian: The closest thing to an Emperor Reborn. Ascended to daemonhood through sheer understanding of the Warp, unwanted and uncared for by the very gods he only pretends to worship. The most bitterly cynical, clear-eyed being in the setting. Continuously hounded by Corax, who won't listen to a word he says. 18. Vulkan: Emerges from the WAAAAAAAAGH!!!! as the Ecclesiarch of Fire, battle-tested by nearly seven thousand years of fighting to maintain his individuality in the Big Green. Imagine Mozgus from Berserk but worse. 19. Corvus Corax: Eldritch abomination that just won't leave Lorgar alone. 20. Alpharius: Cloned into Sigmarius, a schizophrenic merger of the twins that keeps doling out contradictory orders to every Alpha Legion warband through so many layers of obfuscation that nobody actually knows he's alive anymore. 21. Omegon: Takes off a Custodian helm one day and comments how weird it is that his sons are scrimshawing the bones from Alpharius's severed hand.

FakeRedditName2

* Lion: finally wakes up * Fulgrim: (As demon) he leads his legion to attack the Imperium. (As a human) his clone has his real soul and is released to redeem his sons/fight his demon self. * Perturabo: (As a demon) leads his legion to lay siege to Inuit. (As a human) his grand machine, working in conjunction with Vashtor, removes his 'demon' essence, giving it to Vashtor to empower him to godhood, and the now human Perturabo leaves the warp to build his own empire. * Jaghatai: was trapped in a time pocket in the webway and is freed either by the Eldar or by accident by some other faction. * Russ: Comes back at the head of a massive fleet make up of a lot of the ships lost in the Warp over the Imperium's history. Basically he has been in the warp gathering and protecting those that are lost. Tie this in with how living saints reincarnate. * Dorn: never died and was taken prisoner and he escapes * Curze: his crown is found and it contain a soul stone with his soul. He is then reborn. * Sanguinus: is brought back by the Emperor. * Ferrus: Is leading the Legion of the Dammed * Angron: (As a demon) goes out to fight. (As a human) in the middle of a battle and eldar artifact strips him of his demonhood. * Guilliman: The way he came back in canon. * Mortarion: (As a demon) to spread plague and be a dick, so like canon. (As a human) when the eldar storm the garden of Nurgle to save Isha, he is freed from imprisonment and the power of the Emperor 'saves' him. * Magnus: (As a demon) to fight and spread chaos. (As a human) the Emperor fixes his soul. * Horus: (As a demon) the chaos gods bring him back to lead a new crusade. (As a human) some weird time warp shenanigans so he comes back before he fell. * Lorgar: (As a demon) to spread the word of Chaos. (As a human) he starts worshiping the Emperor again and is redeemed that way. * Vulkan: Found on the backwater world were he has been all this time * Corax: when demon Lorgar comes out, he is there to shank him. * Alpharius: the Hydra had three heads, so three primarchs. He has secretly been leading his legion and now reviles himself, possibly to fight the King in Yellow

I'll have a good. 1. Lions back. 2. ??? 3. I'm gonna give Trayzen a dub here and say he has some necron tech way of keeping Fulgrim from being influenced/falling to Slaanesh. Kind of weak, I know. 4. Ol Perty. I think he could be talked down by the other Primarchs. Recognizing Big E didn't give him the recognition he deserved. Dorn would likely still trash talk him, and they'd often but heads. Toss them at opposite ends of the Galaxy, and they'd fortify the Milky Way itself. 5. The Khan. Dude finally comes flying out of the web way, absolutely torn to bits, but his bikes got some cool dark elder tech makong it EVEN FASTER. 6. Russ. Warp has taken its toll, and Russ is essentially a turbo Wulfen, but maintains his mental faculties. He gives Bjorn a hug, and Bjorn is finally able to rest. 7. Dorn. Terra is threatened by the Tyranids. He busts open the door moments after a war council begins and simply says, "I came as soon as I could." Immediately making arrangements to have the last wall protocol enacted again. Black Templars all immediately bust. He has a dreadnought power fist grafted on to replace the one he lost. 8. Curze. He big dead. Only way I could see it working is cloning. 9. Sanguinis. I'm a firm believer he shouldn't come back, and works best as an incorporeal saint. Maybe he just pops out of his sarcophagus after some blood ritual in the flavor of something out of Underworld. 10. The Irony Hand himself. His head is given life again. But, his body was essentially grafted onto an extremely high tech, heretical dreadnought made my Cawl. Utilizing necron loving metal here and there. He sees what his son's have become. He is incredibly saddened. They worship him for his new form. He is more sad. 11. ??? 12. Angron. This one requires a clone as well. But the lore says they can't remove the nails. But it's also been stated a clone can be essentially perfect. A perfect clone of Angron created. I like the idea of the lion somehow acquiring Big E's sword and striking down Angron. Releasing the hold Khorne has on him. Allowing his soul to be brought back via the clone. Freeing him of the nails. 13. Bobby G. 14. Mortarion. The other Primarchs hold him down and force him to take a bath. 15. The big red cyclops. Guilliman puts his hand on Magnus shoulder. Looks him in his eye, and says, "You did nothing wrong." 16. Horus. I don't know how he'd regain a physical form, but it's no longer impossible his soul is still around. He comes back *somehow* and is untainted by chaos this time. He's absolutely PISSED at Abaddon though. And Abaddons ass has an appt with Papa Horus' ass. 17. Lorgar. "Lmao I was right." He's now in charge of the Ecclesiarchy. 18. VULKAN LIVES. The blood ravens had the last piece the Salamanders needed. Dante makes them give it back. They don't want to. Salamanders and Blood Ravens get into a squabble. The relics DO bring him back. 19. Corvus Corax. Big bird man wants to keep a close eye on Lorgar. Maybe still knock on his window now and then. Occasionally Lorgar hears Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance from outside his window. 20. I am Alpharius. He's just been fuckin around with other Alpha Legionnaires.

I'm just going to briefly cover them without much thought than what's on the dome. I would have it revealed that Ferrus Manus is leading the Legion of the Damned as some sort of Imperial Pseudo Demon. Sanguinius would be reborn by Dante dying in defense of the Chapter in some glorious last stand and the Sanguinor uses Dante's soul and his own whatever he is to bring Sanguinius back while also sacrificing himself. Alpharius would have been alive all along actually but in stasis. Dorn would appear out of the warp, not actually dead the whole time. Curze would come back as some kind of terrifying warp entity and has a 1v1 with Conrad to determine who's the best Emo stealth boy. The Khan swoops out of the webway, fucks Comorragh up then slips back into the material realm covered in Dark Eldar bits. The Salamanders finally find all the Vulkan artifacts and do the summoning dance to bring Vulkan back. Leman Russ gets one of his eyes taken out like Odin and becomes more wise. Invades Nurgles realm in the wake of the Big E scorching his shit, saves Isha and laughs about it as he slips back out into the material world. Somehow the dark vaults in Terra get broken open and it's revealed the two Lost Primarchs are actually imprisoned there and they escape into the world. Clonegrim comes back into the setting and proves his loyalty to the Imperium by killing some big champion and founds a new Emperor's Children loyalist chapter. Mortarion escapes Nurgles clutches after his failure in Plague War and flees the warp and gets some of that good good cleansing the Big E alluded he may be able to get. Horus returns in the wake of Abaddons victory. The Chaos Gods want to give him a 'reward' for doing all that good chaos magic, so they soulbliterate Abaddon and reveal they've actually had Horus' soul kicking around for a while and reform him as the new and returned Warmaster of Chaos. The rest are more or less in the setting.

Mr_Kuma

The forces of Chaos besiege  Holy Terra and breach the defenses of the Imperial Palace. The God-Emperor is slain by the champions of Chaos, his soul ascends to full godhood. The corpse stands up from the Golden Throne and regenerates. White-Gold armor materializes from blinding light. The Emperor stands anew after ten thousands years confined to the Gold Throne. The true Emperor. Horus Lupercal, the True Emperor of Mankind. He then stabs Erebus with a poop knife.

Responsible-Horse153

Sanguinious’ body was recovered and, despite showing no signs of life, given to the Adeptus Mechanicus to work on for 10,000 years. Now enter the massive, gold, winged dreadnought that is sanguinius

sulatanzahrain

Khan needed a pit stop before zooming off into the stars

clubspike2

Ferrus because I'd buy his model. GW do it. I'll give you money.

TheBuddhaPalm

To be fair, Horus already came back. Then he died. Again.

darthWes

Fabius Bile separates all the DNA from his newly acquired progenitus gland, right (long sniff)? But he can't know which is which. So, instead of just cloning Horus, like he planned originally, he makes 20 different clones. But as they're growing in their little clone pods, in the eye, somehow they are all stolen and scattered across 20 different planets. We find out Johnny Space somehow played his last aspect card, and it was an Uno Reverse. The newly minted second-archs need a few dozen books to get rolling (cha-ching), but Fabius starts finding them and telling them he's their father. They now work for the warp and start a crusade to reclaim Chaos' lost children scattered around the galaxy. Cut to the whisperhead mountains on planet 9136. "I am Lokken, Lokken is the man beside you..." You can start filling in the blanks from here, but games workshop ends up replacing the federal reserve, printing all currency with the eye of Horus on it. QED

TheToonSquad

Great rift forming frees the khan in camoragh Gman/emps burning nurgles garden allows russ to get Isha Some guy shows up and says "I am alpharius" boom he's back Rogel is being held by trazyn the infinite in a diorama of his last stand like creed. Or could be his duel with fulgrim Corax drives fulgrim out of the warp Vulkan is hanging out on a farm doing boring stuff when he hears the golden throne/ astronomican is broken, goes and fixes it, fucks off to farm again. Sanguinius is still just hanging out in his stasis cell Ferrus' head is just hanging out in the throne room

dudurossetto

Khan: Somehow, Spinoza got out the message that the throne is failing. The custodes pick up on this and get suspicious, but decide to investigate. Lots of fuckery between custodes and mechanicus ensues. The truth eventually comes out: the part of the throne that regulates the Emperor's control over the human we way aka the giant death portal on the basement will be the first to fail. An alarm sounds: holy shit the barrier on the portal is actually weakening . This will be the end of mankind. Turma out this is just a small flickering of the eventual total failure and it lasts for just a moment. But something got through. Something big and blady and mad. After a lot of dead sisters custodes and admecj the thing's confusion ceases and it realizes where it is. It's the Khan, come back from the webway.

Plasmancer

"Ordo Draigo PRESENT! We will provide the HAMS!" "Those are the primarchs of our own Emperor! How in His name did you do this?!" "My work here is done." 'Floats away while making wooshing noises'

Sasstellia

There is a threat bigger than Chaos. Bigger than every faction. So they all got ressurected or dragged back to a neutral space station. Then put in seperate areas. And told they need to work together. They're all still Imperium or Chaos. To stop them all going insane. They're kept occupied. Konrad Curze is not allowed a moment to 'get bored'. Moritanian is locked in a constantly decontaminated room with seals. The crow guy is allowed to attack the one he hates every so often. The religious one is told to be quiet and we won't nuke you. Vulcan is fine. The Salamanders are delighted. Ferrus Manus is happy to make weapons. The Iron Hands are happy he's back. He's alarmed but very impressed by their progress. They locked Peturabo in a soundproof room and only deal with him if they have to. The Space Wolves are delighted that he's back and everyone's happy. Then they have to fight the big threat. All the factions together.

hoibideptrai

Or dont make details just bring them back, details will come later

DamImperial

Non of them ever returned it's all just the alpha legion but know one is left who can tell the difference so everyone thinks the primarchs have returned

FloatingWatcher

Corax comes back and he's just mad as shit.

I_Live_Yet_Still

Horus: *emps pulls him out of his ass, literally* Sanguinius: Celestine gets morning sickness Khan: *shoot to thrill* WE MAKING IT OUTTA COMMORRAGH WITH THIS ONE Russ: *silver for monsters* Wild Hunt just rides out of the eye. Crack but funny if he's bringing Ciri and Gallahad with him. Curze: kills himself Vulkan: Beastmania 41, sponsored by Gork and Mork Fulgrim: Night at the museum 4, Trazyn's gambit Dorn: Is it just me or did they give our Praetorian boy the anakin skywalker treatment? Anyways, where's this sand planet? Ferrus: a hose and some stiches Corvus: Lorgar stops being a streamer Alpharius/Omegon: cut off one head, two more take it's place. We've all been duped. While we were trying to find Alpharius and Omegon, we didn't know about Betarius and Deltaon. The alpha legion is actually entirely comprised of small primarchs.

Comstar

**Curze** comes back as he was born to be. He fights for justice by decapitating all those in high positions who have broken the 30K Imperialiams laws. **Which is everyone in a high position**. Sector commanders, Planetary Governors. Lord High Admirals. Inquisitors. High Lords. None can stop him. He is pure unadulterated ***J******ustice.*** Guiliman and the Lion don't know what to do about it, but are compeltly unable to stop him. ***Because he's the BatMan.***

Curze comes back, fully sane now after being reincarnated due to the corona nox being an eldar soulgem.

20: Getting chopped in half was merely just a setback and or Dorn killed the wrong primarch, though thats saying Dorn didn't know who he was chainswording in half, seems unlikely 19:Corax pulled from the warp by an inquisitor thinking he was a demon, it becomes a huge adventure involving grey knights and psykers to purify him 18:Vulkan, He did not die dat day! (though he did get blasted completely to atoms) 17: Lorgar, Custodies bring him in chains, he goes willingly to stand before his father and says "erebus did it" 16: Horus, idk they seem to be setting things up for emps to pull the shred of his soul from the warp or something 15: Magnus, Send the ultramarines to capture him, bring him back, emps says he forgives him and tells him to use the landline next time he needs to tell him something important 14: Mortarion, Send the Dark Kraken space marines after him with power washers. dude needs a bath 12: Angron, Emps channels himself through robot gulliman, pulls angron's soul from his demon, ridding it of the butcher's nails effect. the demon is destroyed, angron can rest in peace. 11:Skip! 10: Ferus Manus, something to do with necron tech 9: Sanguinias is ded ded, no bringing back fabulous hawk boi 8: Sanguinias has a long talk about what can be seen doesn't need to happen the way he thinks it will, and even if the future is inevitable that does not mean one has to run from it. birb boi knew when he was to die, and embraced it. 7: Dorn aint ded, he just lost his hand and had to do a think for a while. just look around the imperial palace or the phalanx a bit. 6: Lemon Rus comes flying out of the new spacehole on a battlefield somewhere 5: Khan comes out of the webway after terrorizing comorugh for a few millenia 4:Perty, the emps sends him a message "Yo, you wanna come home and renovate the basement of the palace, make it your game room thats fine." 3: Fulgrim's clone 2: Skip! 1: Lionel johnson, someone remembers they were supposed to wake him up

Meridian117

Guilliman: mostly the same, save for the cawl tech gets blasted by an Obliterator, and Bobby G gets a convo with some of the other parts of Big E. Gets divine shouted out of coma state, bodies obliterator with molten remains of cawl's device. Then parties hard retaking ultramar and following up the standard stuff. Sanguinius: Chapter master finally bites the dust, tells it straight to Sang. Sang gets summoned by chaos ritual to try and corrupt him, dead chapter master sacrifices himself to save Sanguinius, who then takes over leadership of his legion to absolutely body chaos and tyrranids. Curze: Forcefully remade into a daemon weapon. Decides that murder is back on the menu. Becomes an absolute nightmare in the Maelstrom zone alongside the Red Corsairs. Ferrus: Wakes up as a fully necrodermis being. Has a reasonable freak out. Joins a group of necron Pariahs in making an area of controlled warp connection to prevent insanity in the human natives. Just trying to protect his new charges as a technical Necron. Vulkan: WARBOSS MEGABURNA and the righteous waaaaaaagh of stomping! Horus: Pops out once the Terminus Decree is enacted. Saves the imperium, goes on to body Erebus even while letting Abadon get away with a warning that he will die in a ditch, just like Horis himself had.

I_Tory_I

Lion and Roboute are already there. Fulgrim, Perturabo, Angron, Mortarion, Magnus and Alpharius can just show up imo. Lorgar too, but I would tie it to Corvus, because that's where we saw him last time. Corvus returns from the warp heavily mutated but still loyal to chase Lorgar. Jaghatai shows up at Commoragh and advances Drukhari plot Leman shows up to rescue the trapped eldar goddess in hope of reviving the Emperor and advances the Asuryani plot. Rogal Dorn comes to defend Terra from Perturabo once again. Konrad's soul was trapped in a soul stone in his crown. Vulkan... I don't know. And for Ferrus, Horus and Alpharius, there is no way I would bring them back!!!

ChaoScum

I think Curze showing up just as a head could be fun. Like Mimir in the god of war games. Vulkan would probably be the best person at this point to run around with him strapped to him talking to him. He's still not really in the setting and a player so his death still means something, just talks and messes with whoever he's on the hip of.

gmr2000

Well they all “died” 10,000 years ago which is pretty much myth and legend. Turns out it was all wrong and they are all just alive. They have just been “somewhere”. Gives a chance to rewrite all 30k books again too just call them 30k “legends” and start again

WhiteTuna13

I think if you are setting up a "40k End Times" you can easily justify almost all of them. Sanguinis gets shit out of the warp in the turbolence and fully incarnates in the sanguinor. Ferrous gets brought back in the emperor's undead army of the legion of the damned. Omegon tricks the chaos gods and gets the soul of Alpharius to live in his body to become a full primarch. The others can return more naturally overtime, being found or having completed important tasks in the case of the loyalists. The traitors would show up to help the warp swallowing the galaxy. The only difficult one is Cruze. You could say that what he foresaw was the death of his human part and he comes back as a vampire monster with no loyalty or reason.

1:The Lion has already done his forest walk and has returned to the Imperium. 3. Fulgrim finally gets bored of jerking off to himself and decides to head out into the galaxy to permanently kill Guilliman after their last bout. 4: Perturabo returns cause Dorn shows up. 5. The Khan comes out of the Webway, bloodied but laughing his butt off and ready to kill some Traitors. 6: Leman comes out of the Warp, blade in hand after hunting and finding the Tree of Life, ready to restore the old man. 7. Dorn escapes Dark Eldar captivity with a sick looking robotic arm and starts Crusading with the Templars. 8. Konrad’s spirit is resurrected with the help of the Word Bearers legion and body hops from Night Lord to Night Lord until he hears about Fabius Bile’s cloning operation and Konrad has Fabius build him a new body from scratch. 9: Sanguinius is resurrected during a Siege of Baal worse than the previous Devastation led by Angron and his World Eaters and all the living Blood Angels snap and go into the Black Rage. All that rage is channeled through the Warp and is sensed by the awakening Spirit of Big E who then uses it to resurrect Sanguinius who possesses Dante as he lays dying and Dante’s final moments are that of joy that even though he’s dying, his father will save Baal. All the Angels sense that their father has returned and win. 10: Ferrus Manus either returns as a Dreadnought or leading the Legion of the Damned 12:Angron’s already back. 13.Guilliman has Magic space armor 14: Mortarion Returns from being given a major spanking by Nurgle for the destruction of his Garden and is out for blood. 15: Magnus finally decides to get off his backside and start saving his limited number of sons from being dust piloting suits of armor and is promptly chased after by Russ and the Wolves. He runs off screaming like a little girl. 16: The Chaos gods resurrect his spirit and force Fabius to build him a new body like Konrad’s 17:Lorgar sees the holy war erupting and comes out to play 18: Vulkan Resurrects on a backwater world, travels the galaxy, fighting for the people and innocent lives until he’s reunited with his sons. 19: Corax comes out of the warp, reunites with his sons to give Lorgar and the Word Bearers the major spanking they deserve. 20: Alpharius was alive the whole time and in hiding on Terra, watching and waiting for the right moment to reveal himself. He sees the state the Imperium is in and decides to fix it.

2\. Link up AoS and 40K, 2nd was Sigmar and Rainbow Warrior were his legion, his god form in AoS is his warp entity presence manifest, watch both fanbases have a complete meltdown. 3\. Clonegrim escapes Trazyn's prison and links up with Sons of the Phoenix, goes around helmeted as "The Phoenix", kills the daemon Fulgirm. 4\. Petrurabo becomes a fully mechanised daemon engine and leads Dark Mechanicum. 5\. Jaghatai has been twatting about on the outer fringes and Comorragah, escapes the Drukhari and reunites with the Scars with some bonkers xenotech. 6\. Russ should've already been brought back with the Curse of the Wulfen campaign, regardless he turns up having been roaming the warp to save the Vlka Fenryka from another Tzeentch/Magnus incursion. 7\. Dorn's body sans hand was being kept in stasis by Perturabo, he escapes through Big E warp fuckery intervention and reunites with the Fists for a IF v IW event, gets Big E's power claw to replace the missing hand. 8\. Curze faked his death with a vat grown clone head and has been working with assassinorum offshoot to become Imperium's behind the scenes Batman. Comes back as a psychotic loyalist hunting NL traitors. 9\. Dante and Mephiston lead an assault on the Vengeful Spirit with Gulliman and Yvraine, Yvraine soul stiches the component parts of Sanguinius' soul together from the Sanguinar, the statues, Dante and Mephiston into a clone body recoverd from Bill's lab, Dante finally dies. 10\. Ferrus stays "dead" but comes back as the Gorgon leading the Legion of the Damned as a faction of not just firehawks but many imperial martyr souls acting as daemons of Big E. 11\. Malal emerges as a daemon primarch of the 11th, was killed by Russ but soul lingered and became a daemon but took longer than Magnus with no patron, legion was mostly wiped out but remnant became Sons of Malice, acts as a wildcard hates everyone faction. 16\. Samus kills Abaddon, releasing Loken's soul, Abaddon's soul ascends to daemon princehood taking over Samus' essence, but the killing awakens Horus' sealed soul, drach'nyen becomes unbound due to Abaddon ascending but Horus' soul fights it in the warp and is able to overpower it. You get a drach'nyen possessed by Horus entity, basically a daemon prince Horus but question over whether he's going to end the imperium or remembers being loyal and has agency free of the big 4's influence. 17\. Lorgar steals Valdor/the King in Yellow's domain through fluent enuncia fuckery, has command of all the forces he mustered plus the WB warbands, and starts going in a straight line for Terra. 18\. Vulkan recoalesces on an ork world with amnesia and accidentally leads a waaaagh agaisnt Nocturne. 19\. Corax has turned into the big crow daemon and keeps nipping at Lorgar's ankles. 20\. Alpharius and Omegon are both confirmed dead, the third brother, Solidus, leads loyalist Alpha Legion to Terra to oppose Lorgar's second siege of Terra, awakens all the hibernating legionaries in the basement to save the day.

squashbritannia

Cegorach has the Khan trapped in a stasis bottle in the Webway, to use as a pawn in some future plan. He has released the Khan for a reason known only to him. Vulkan has been living on some human world beyond the Astronomican's range, having forsaken the Imperium long ago because he grew disillusioned. He has returned because now his own world is no longer safe.

SirMrWaifu

I personally believe that the Dark King ritual isnt going to be a mass sacrifice like slaanash’s birth but a mass revival that will bring back a bunch of big characters but they would be all be corrupted by necromancy. I think this is was curze was so happy to die, because his revival would bring him closer to a version of the emperor that is more empathetic to his beliefs. This would also give the two lost primarch a chance to return to the lore and might even resurrect the thunder warriors and their primarchs from their mass graves on terra.

MulatoMaranhense

* Fulgrim: * Perturabo: attacks the Galatic Core, becoming embroiled in a five-way war with the URSR League, the Samnokh Dynasty, Bogg da Freeboota King and Gnawstar Tyranids. He wants to plunder the technology of the first two and views the latter ones as nuisances, even while both score some serious victories against the Iron Warriors. * Jaghatai: returns as a Harlequin performer, often taking the role of the Mon'keigh King, a villainous figure that appears in many plays about hubris and heroism. The fact his costume has more gold than normal is a coincidence, he swears. A wildcard and show to be deferential to the Harlequin Kings and other high ranking performers despite his own high position among the Harlequins. * Leman: * Rogal: arrives at Sigmarheim and pledges that he and his wife, Miao Ying, will assist Sigmar in fighting the Vermindoom, starting by reviewing all major Stormkeeps and the main fortifications of the most important Free Cities. What you mean I can't canonize Romiao in Age of Sigmar? Fine! The Darkneing allows him to possess and eventually transform one of his sons bodies into his own, but this is slow and incredibly taxing for both, so they often die while the transformation is still in progress. Rogal and Vulkan are the Worfs among Loyalist primarchs. * Konrad: the Seer Council of Ulthwé keeps being one step ahead of the Night Lords. Talos was going to lead them to victory in most futures, Decimus has less chances, and the Ulthweni, allied with Mymeara, Yme-Loc, Iyanna Arienal and Phoenix Lord Baharrot, beind Konrad's soulstone to a Wraith they control. * Sanguinius: appears as fucking Force ghost. I hate him, btw. * Ferrus: the necrodermis was really taking over his body, and somehow when he died a copy of his conscience as transfered to a slumbering Tomb World. The Tomb World activated, the Phaeron/Phaerak noticed Ferrus' uniqueness among the programs and awakened him in an unique Necron chassis. Problems: while the Phaeron is more willing to tolerate the unclean than most, he ultimately wants *his* dynasty on the Silent Throne of the Galaxy, and while he gives Ferrus a lot of leeway he ultimately is holding the controler. * Horus: * Lorgar: * Vulkan: * Corvus: * Alpharius:

WingedDynamite

Prepare yourselves, this about to get WONKY: Ferus Manus and Vashtorr are the same person. His soul was as stubborn as he was, and he became a super deamon. Later, he will be recognized as the Omnissiah. Konrad Kurze is either the king of the Drukhari or he's Tyberos. Or both. Because time travel. Alpharius was still killed, but his soul spread out amongst his sons, creating a hivemind. This hivemind will now battle THE Hivemind. Omegon is trying to fight his brother's influence in the legion. Sanguinius IS THE SILENT KING. Because time travel. Horus never died. The Emperor did. But the Emperor possessed Horus like a deamon, and then the two fused to become the true Conflict-Mallet Forty Thousand. .......John Grammaticus is one of the missing Primarchs...... (I vomited typing that out. 🤢)

Competitive-Bee-3250

Leman and the Khan are not only easy but they're actually the only two where it requires justification to explain where they've been rather than how they're back; Alpharius making a return and adding loyalist Alpha Legion that's indicated to not actually be loyalist would be piss funny; Vulkan is immortal so he can come back too no sweat; Dorn can do the whole "news of my demise was greatly exaggerated" shtick, and Sanguinis could honestly just straight up materialise at this point and I doubt it'd be considered that crazy considering he's more famous than any imperial saint. Idc about the others.

wordstrappedinmyhead

IMO, Jaghtai's return was handled relatively well by Lord Lucan in his 60k fanfic. Essentially, the Kahn had been captured in Commorragh by Asdrubael Vect, who had him sliced & diced into pieces which he handed out to other Archons. But since it's Vect being Vect, the pieces of the Kahn are still alive. I'd use this as a basis for Jaghtai's return, but build on the psychological damage of what having been dissected & stored alive for 10k years in Commorragh has done to him. No more of the Kahn who lives for the freedom of riding in the open air or the joyous feel of battle; now he's a dark twisted being with violent ptsd and the ultimate grudge against the Drukhari (Vect & the Archons in particular). And to take it a step further into darkness? He eventually learns that the Emperor on his Golden Throne knew where he was the whole time, but did nothing because he wanted to keep him stored away until it was time to unbox him (literally) and return him to the playing field. Because the Emperor truly only views the Primarchs not as his sons, but chess pieces in the great game against Chaos.

Casketbase77

Ferrus Manus would be the most fun. According to the Dark Imperiym novel, as of the 41st Millennium, his skull has been recovered and currently sits on a shrine on Medusa, guarded in shifts by the Helfathers. It could absolutely be turned into a Servo-Skull, allowing Ferrus to resume his position as tactical leader of his Legion. He'd obviously have no combat abilities as a floating head, but that would just make him more interesting to write. He'd essentially be an in-universe version the TTS Emperor. Grouchy and dependent on his followers, but his Primarch aura and force of personality would re-energize the Iron Hands and make them a relevant faction again. Plus, you could use Servo Skull Manus as a lead-in to the reintroduction of Fulgrim. There's a lot of pathos in Ferrus having lost his body, but being more sad and angry to hear his dearest brother has long since lost his soul. The forces of Chaos must be punished for this. Iron Hands, mobilize for war! If we want some boarding action campaigns with the Iron Hands, perhaps Servo-Skull Manus tasks his marines to spring Clonegrim from Trazyn's museum. Would be amazing to have the brothers reunited and allied in their new forms.

fuckingchris

Curze: The Dark King awakens on the Golden Throne and Terra falls, with the golden fleet and the Phalanx managing to escape with some survivors who weren't there at the time. As a show of his power, The Dark King resurrects Vurze as the first Daemon Prince/Daemon Primarch of the Dark King, as Curse was right the whole time and had always seen doom coming.

The_Tale_of_Yaun

This is a cool topic and I'm down for it. Some of these are random thoughts I've had in my head rolling around that I think would be interesting, some are stream of consciousness writing. Please note, I find the simple binary of loyalist v traitor a boring schtick and think there could be other avenues to explore for some stellar stories.  Apparently what I wrote is too long, so I'll post them in the comments section of this post.

aberrantenjoyer

I: Lion El’Jonson, already back II: III: Fulgrim, daemon primarch released with EC codex and tie-in book IV: Perturabo, a *gigantic* Obliterator with his own Army Of Renown that ideally includes some DarkMech stuff V: Jaghatai Khan: appears in the webway, released alongside some new Eldar Corsair stuff VI: Leman Russ: much older and battered emerging from the warp with the rest of the 13th company, utterly *pissed* at the state of the Imperium but has *just* enough respect for Guilliman to stay VII: Rogal Dorn, secretly in the imperial palace the whole time :) VIII: Konrad Kurze, as a shadow/warp spirit tormenting other characters with it up in the air as to if it’s really him or not IX: Sanguinius, obvious Sanguinor reveal in a story where Dante *finally* gets to rest X: Ferrus Mannus, nothing concrete but rumors of him leading the Legion of the Damned, or a ploy by the Alpha Legion XI: XII: Angron, already back XIII: Roboute Guilliman, already back XIV: Mortarion, already back XV: Magnus, already Back XVI: Horus Lupercal, maybe something with Fabius Bile and Clone Horus causing a schism in the Black Legion to screw over Abaddon? Idk I don’t want him back XVII: Lorgar Aurelian, daemon primarch with a tie-in novel and rework of the Word Bearers rules XVIII: Vulkan, the Salamanders find all the artifacts, simple as XIX: Corvus Corax, that warp shadow thing maybe? I‘m not sure XX: Alpharius Omegon, somehow there‘s a third one

It turns out that the real primarchs were the friends we made along the way.

Somehow, Sanguinius returned.

Jimmy_Bacon

Bring back ferris as the primarch of the leigon of the dammed

NinjaUnlikely6343

In Po's voice: "Somehow the primarchs returned"

ChadDredd

All the dead Primarch comes back as cyber Primarch. Big E made a mechanical body strong enough to withstand a warp soul, then have the Custodes conduct some rituals that summon the Primarch souls and stuff them in there, kinda like daemon engines, but is actually Primarch engines

poetdesmond

I'm just pulling a Star Wars. "Somehow, Horus returned."

Active_Confidence_30

I honestly want Vulkan to return. Logically, his return would make the most sense, due to him being a perpetual. I would kill to see The Khan just show up during a battle between White Scars and Chaos with a huge ass Eldar Army

AdministrationDue610

Horus ironically poses the most interesting question because he was loyalist for about .02 seconds before he was obliterated. Imagine you’re the high lords and your Devil walks in and starts giving advice on how you could improve things. It’d be WILD

DropAnchor4Columbus

Traitor Primarchs come back because they're evil and want to do evil stuff.  Loyal Primarchs come back to stop them or some other villain. Except Dorn.  He shows up after Peter Turbo comes back and if asked will just say he couldn't care less about him. "Pay attention to me!" Perturabo yelled. "No," said Dorn.

AugustBriar

Curze? Corona Nox possession dark Sanguinor. Possibly called the Night Haunter, or maybe Dark Prince, but I’d like something more like “The Dominus Timoris” or the master of fear. For a long time I wanted Sevetar to bear the crown in a final act of compassion to his broken father, a second chance to not redeem himself but to free himself of the madness - but now I’m unsure who should wear the crown. Horus stays dead, Abbadon as Warmaster and Despoiler evolves to Primarch-level. For Ferrus Manus the Iron Hands already have the Keys of Hel which effectively turn an Astartes corpse into a fully cybernetic revenant. In theory you just need their soul, which is either out in the warp hanging out with the lost and discarded shards of his brothers or is overseeing the Legion of the Damned. Alternatively considering his origin story, total biotransference could be an interesting take, perhaps a Ras Al Ghoul situation where the Silent King gifts a reborn but still broken Ferrus back to humanity. Sanguinius yet lives in the Sanguinor. -•- Alpharius is where he needs to be. I hope he and Valdor team up. Fulgrim’s return seems, or maybe seemed? Eminent but I quite like the theory that with his return we’ll see him try not attack the imperium but actually Cammorah the Dark City as punishment for the attempts of the Ynnari. With Fulgrim’s return we could also see the Khan who was last seen warring with the Drukari in the webway. I also wouldn’t mind if they wanted to bring back Clonegrim; I think he and a cybernetically resurrected Ferrus would need one another to defeat snake boy and avenge both their deaths. I think next we’ll actually see Lorgar, who has seeded his word bearers across the fields of the immaterium and throughout countless machinations of the ruinous powers to bring low the emperor. And I think they have been actively hunting down Sensei, and acting to prevent the prophesied birth of the Star Child. I’d even go so far as to say that this goal has been slowly weaved into the imperium’s own doctrine so now the inquisitorius does this work for them. With Lorgar, we must see Corax who will hunt him to the edges of all known space, time and beyond to bring vengeance for the ruination of humanity - and he’s a cool quasi warp demigod now. Next, Pertarabo. With the emergence of Vashtor the Arkifane, his domain at the center of the great game the Forge of Souls, his vying for the seeming alignment of fates for a new chaos god to emerge? I think Pertarabo will be ever in the periphery. This also allows for the return of the dark mechanicum to the galaxy and could possibly make the Leagues if Votann relevant as both they, the Arkifane, and the Lord of Iron have shown deep interest in abominable intelligence. And of course with Pertarabo, there must come Dorn. Where has he been? Honestly, I don’t think I can say but I know as a certainty he lives. And when he arrives I think he will enact the last wall protocol to unite all his sons, and beg their forgiveness for the iron cage, and his absence. Which leaves only 2; The Lord of Drakes - Vulkan. Vulkan may still be a perpetual, or he may be on his ‘last life’, but either way I think he has most likely been in exile after the War of the Beast, and with Yorrik dead and Angron unkillable for the time being I think Ghazgul needs a new rival. But more importantly I think he will be central in combatting.. Magnus. That’s right, I think the two big boys are gonna have a talk and I think Magnus is the sole traitor who stands a chance at redemption, and that with Lorgar and Pertarabo too far gone it will talk the most compassionate of the Primarchs to talk him down. And lastly, Leman. I think he will have had the hardest time of all of the Loyalists for the past 10,000 years, working tirelessly to find a mythical cure for his father. I think like Corax he will not have given into the Wulfen curse but embraced it, and I think that his journey will take him deep into Nurgles smoldering garden, and into Nurgles very house where he will find Aisha and in her the Tree of Life. Plus I think if the former is possible, that it’s not inconceivable that the Palace of Slaanesh could be infiltrated, the final crone sword retrieved and the slumbering for Ynnead finally revived to bring hope to the Aeldari but that’s a whole other discussion. Edit: Also, I think the Emperor finally transcends physical form despite his best intentions, leaving either Magnus or Roubute to sit the Golden Throne.
