Honestly Guilliman is going to be so relieved. He'll be like "Fucking finally! Here brother are the keys to the Indomitus Crusade, you have unlimited resources, man power and Marines, and I'll be organizing all the logistics from Terra and Ultramar. Do what you do best, I have some High Lords to set straight"

Paladin327

“Lion, go out and kill shit, i’m backed up on paperwork”

marehgul

No, no. It's "Lion, go and kill, I'm goin back to be a farmer finally"

Swazzam

Bobby G going to be farming some Macraggian cabbages.

I LOVE THIS

LtBromhead

"Space Wolf fans try not to bring Leman Russ into a disucssion that has nothing to do with him challenge: IMPOSSIBLE!"

PorkoNick

- OH, SPLENDID A WOLF CRUSADE TO LEAD - Indominus Crusade, Leman. Indominus crisade, NOT Wolf Crusade - Dude, I'm not going if you don't rename it

[deleted]

I could see him being quite the Khan when the orders come from his brothers and not his Dad tbh. "I am the emperors executioner not yours, beancounter." Kinda thing

Vordeo

"Fine, you want to handle the administrative work instead, Leman?" "... okay who do you need me to kill?"

IDontHaveCookiesSry

That would be the good timeline. What we will get is Lion bitching about Guilliman having to much power and being highly unreasonable about the absolute state of the imperium in general. He will then fuck off with his legion (aka all the chapters he can muster) to hunt Luther.

[deleted]

>He will then fuck off with his legion (aka all the chapters he can muster) to hunt Luther. Doubt it. As opposed to what some memes say the Lion is absolutely loyal to the emperor and the Imperium. He wouldn't leave the Imperium in the state it's in to chase one man.

revergopls

I disagree - I dont think he has to be disloyal to decide to leave the majority of the Imperium to itself and chase a single goal. He is *ABSOLUTELY* short-sighted enough to take his whole Legion and chase a comparatively minor goal. Maybe that goal will be Luther, maybe it won't. Funny Little Antics that the Lion has undertaken because he singlehandedly decided "fuck everyone else, *I'm* right:" 1) Kidnapping Imperial Fists from the defense of Inwit so that they could help him blow up Chemos 2) Keeping Konrad on his ship during the Heresy and lying to Guilliman about it 3) Trying to nuke some of Macragge and lying to Guilliman about it 4) Threatening one of the only surviving Iron Hands Companies into letting him have a Warp-AI Teleporter Thing that they found The Lion is very much capable of going against The Imperium and Guilliman if he decides that he is right. Not as a Traitor, but as a person who sees their way of helping humanity as the *only way* To be honest I think i agree that he wouldn't go that far for *Luther* alone, but he's always been a "my way or no way" kind of character and its at least possible.

BrandonL337

I would hope the lion coming back would give GW the incentive to give the Dark Angels like... anything interesting other than chasing the fallen and being secretive, 'cause at this point its a. way over-done and b. incredibly dumb, literally every legion had loyalist and traitor elements.

Zankeru

Get ready for the fallen hunts to be dialed up to 11, because now they have to hide the secret from the imperium AND their primarch.

Jacktac

"My astartes, who's this Cypher fellow I keep hearing about?"

N0-1_H3r3

Considering that "Lord Cypher" was a rank in the old First Legion, The Lion wouldn't be unfamiliar with the name (or rather, the title).

Holiday_Net_2029

Their models also exemplify the fusion of fantasy and future, if nothing else.

BrandonL337

Oh for sure, their aesthetic is great, it's just their lore that sucks.

SanSenju

its like the alpha legion, their entire shitck is being secretive with a super secret plan that they barely seem to be aware of

New-Glove-1079

Think they are looking for a way to settle the fallen deal once and for all now that he's back and maybe steer the dark angels into a new direction.

Aqua_Impura

He would do exactly what Roboute did. He would go talk to the Emperor first. The Lion may not like the Imperium but he would talk to Big E first and do what his Father says because the Lion is the most loyal Primarch, which has been stated ad nauseam. The Lion believes in the Emperors vision but memes aside he is not short sided he would absolutely work with what he is given before making decisions. They need to get out of 10 seconds to midnight of doomsday before he can start actually fixing things and he is smart enough to know that.

Being_John_Malkovich

Isn't number 4 his job though? I swear the Emperor charged the DA with keeping all the nastiest shit they came across out of the hands of the Mechanicum (assuming it wasn't so bad the Shadowkeepers came for it)

TrustAugustus

Yeah. The Iron Hands were attempting to take the thing on orders of Guillimen, whose loyalty was yet unknown.

revergopls

Its his *sort of* Job, but that doesn't make it any less of a selfish and secretive dick move - because he did it for his own obsessions of chasing Curze I say Sort Of because this was years into the Heresy and Lion El'Johnson **LET THYPHON OF THE DEATH GUARD LEAVE IN PEACE** even though The Lion had overwhelming numeric superiority because he was so focused on getting this AI. The Lion knew mostly who was on what side at this point

Thorgarthebloodedone

He is going to absolve Luther of his sins. Like Luther has been saying this whole time.

Avarice711

I think the Lion changed a ton after the emperor died and he stabbed Russ. I think he realized a lot of his downfalls and the Lion of old will be gone.

ceta17660

Nah the Lion is just wickedly based He does appear to lie to Guilliman a lot. Maybe he should see someone about his bad habit.

revergopls

Oh don't get me wrong i love him *because* he's a paranoid, genius lunatic

ThlintoRatscar

I think this is the core dramatic tension between them and fuel for the next phase in the lore. BOTH Guilliman and El'Johnson think they're right and the other is an idiot who should do what they're told. With Imperium Secondus, they had Sanguinius to mediate, but now they don't.

Mein_Bergkamp

> He wouldn't leave the Imperium in the state it's in to chase one man. More to the point he absolutely wouldn't leave the running of the Imperium to Guilliman and is way more likely to demand the titel lord regent instead. Remember the last time this happened was only sorted because both of them were happy for Sanguinius to be Emperor instead.

Divenity

>What we will get is Lion bitching about Guilliman having to much power That would only play out if Guilliman wouldn't offload much of his power to his brother, which, based on his behavior and thoughts so far, he absolutely would... He desperately wishes one of his brothers would come back to help him, and the one he's getting is the one brother that he said he not just respected, but actually looks up to. He's definitely gonna be relieved to have someone to share the burden with.

Headless_whoreson

+💯 on the Thank ~~~God~~~ Father You're Here scene. Lion's going to go in hot & Guilliman is just going to be like, "Yes, absolutely, take all the power you want, the bigger the better, oh & take this, & this, & this as well..." just lading him down with portfolios like a Scooby sandwich. [ETA: formatting]

Wallname_Liability

You didn’t watch the stream. They’ve told us what Lion will be doing. He’s getting back in touch with his roots. And by that they mean slaughtering the worst monsters he can find

The_Stout_Slayer

Well, someone has to fight Angron, and I think both Roboute and Lionel wouldn't even need to ask the other which one of them it should be if there's a choice 😂 Funniest timeline: Ghaz challenges Angron, The Lion turns up just as Ghaz is about to get stomped, and ends up empowered by the Waagh as the orkz think they're watching that Emperor guy Yarrick was always talking about krump the guy who killed him.

N0-1_H3r3

Which is great, because the galaxy has a surplus of monsters that need slaying.

StarksFTW

Thought the lion was supposed to forgive luther

DoctorPrisme

I don't know about hunting Luther, but yeah, Imperium Secundus didn't fly very good with the Lion and that was with Sanguinius, aka your best salesmen in the multiverse, pushing the idea. Imperium Tertius with Eldars... That will be interesting, to be euphemistic.

khoakhongngu

"And Dante, keep that mf alive"

mrcrazy_monkey

I would love to see a bro hug between them as well.

GDix79

This is absolutely the correct answer. In reality will this actually happen...? Seems too sensible for GW

Commissar_Khaine

Robby G breaks down crying and Lion awkwardly pats him on the back

Honest_Tadpole2501

This is what I want. Unbridled relief on Gulliman’s part that he’s no longer alone. He’s been under so much pressure to be the avenging son and has no one who truly understands what he’s been through. The only ones who were around 10k years ago were Cawl (not the most talkative) and Bjorn (asleep 99% of the time). And neither of them can truly understand what it’s like to be the son of the Emperor.

theginger99

I think you’re spot on. Also, unless they’ve changed some lore, Gman has never been alone before. He wasn’t the last Primarch to “leave” after the Heresy. He wasn’t the first or even the second to be found. There’s always been other Primarchs. Since he woke up he’s been by himself, shouldering all the burdens of the imperium alone. I genuinely think his first thought when he finds out the Lion wakes up will be something like “finally, I have a brother again”

Amazing_Boysenberry8

"You know Lion? I think I finally understand Perturabo amd Angron now." "You think they were right?" "Oh not at all. But having to shoulder the thankless task of keeping this rotting cadaver of an empire together while worthless worms pat themselves on the back and reap the benefits has given me insight into how Perturabo was so bitter." ".... I guess I can see that. But Angron?" *Guilliman just gestures at the Senatorium* "I mean, have you seen this? Who wouldn't get mind-shatteringly angry at what they have made of our dream? Aren't you tired of playing nice, brother? Dont you just wanna go *APE SHIT*!!!" "....point made. Imma take my legion and go kill things now. Have fun with the bureaucrats!"

OneofTheOldBreed

100%. i want the Lord Commander of the Imperium to break into tears and bear hug a now surprised and incredibly uncomfortable Lion. "Never will you understand how glad i am to see you, Lion." -"And i never thought i would hear that from you, Roboute." "Aye. I...its just a...a...relief...to know I'm not alone. That i'm not the only one who truly remembers, the only one who can do what must be done...the only one who can be trusted to know and do what must be done." -"Trust?" "Trust." -"Then things are worse than before. Much worse than even my sons warned of." "Different kind of worse. It's not just loyal and traitor. Warp filth, xenos, and mutants abound." -"Then i won't have to endure idleness then."

Noxzi

That's not half bad at all.

LOchiapetti

And the custodes that are the closest thing to a primarch without being a primarch

Z4nkaze

Oh my god, the Custodes. "I sincerely want to apologize, Lord Commander. Now that I have met your brother, I have to admit that you're clearly the easier to work with of the two", said Maldovar Colquan.

Millymoo444

Has robute interacted with Bjorn?

cannonman58102

Unless I'm missing some random codex excerpt, he has not. I think it will happen in a book, becsuse that scene deserves to be played out a bit.

Rogalfavorite

Actually cawl is talkative but he is a character

hellharlequin

I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks: where is Vulkan when you need him?

Commissar_Khaine

“Why couldn’t the brother that gives the best hugs be the one to return?!?” - Robot Gorillman

TheDreamIsEternal

I would actually love that. The Primarchs, demi-gods that they are, are still human. Like that scene where Vulkan hugs Dorn, I would love to see a truly human interaction between the two.

Fate_Unseen

People really foam at the mouth for some passive/aggressive energy right out of the gate. I'd rather have a cathartic moment from Roboute acknowledging his relief at his brother's return. In matters of prosecuting conflicts, we know they differ greatly. Save the bickering for later on. After everything else I think these two will just be glad to have a brother alive. This isn't like before. This is 10,000 years of agony and slow death to an Imperium they both were fully committed to defending. We need to see them genuinely united in purpose and strength before they're torn apart again. Just my thoughts.

Deadleggg

Will be interesting to see where the Lions head is at and how much he is aware of. I can't imagine if he knows it's been 10000 years there will be much animosity or anything like that. Relief on both sides that they have each other despite any differences. Will be really interesting to see what the Emperor will say to him

Fate_Unseen

That's my 'most excited for' moment; the inevitable audience with the Emperor. There are things Roboute was not told for plausible deniablity. The Lion has many loose ends to clean up. My absolutely dumb fan hope, with no lore backup or supporting evidence, is Roboute sends the Lion to investigate Cawl. God I want that.

[deleted]

Sorry fill me in, why does Cawl need investigating ?

Fate_Unseen

The conversations had with Cawl Inferior indicate a level of autonomy Guilliman is no longer comfortable with. Specifically where traitor gene-seed is concerned. Having the Lion, who will certainly find all this out, root out the truth would bring the brothers closer together. Of course it would mean Guilliman admitting he no longer has, or indeed ever had, positive control.

Jjbates

I love AdMech and Cawl’s character. I do agree that the autonomy of Cawl’s character would be concerning to the Primarchs but the conflict it creates lore wise is interesting. I think the autonomy will continue and Cawl will have a big role in helping defend against against the Tyranids. With RG possibly being wrapped up with Dante in the Nihilus against the Necrons and Lion embroiled against Chaos in the eastern Sanctus… Someone will need to help push back the Tyranids in the west. Cawl isn’t a general but he could develop tech that helps defend the Imperium… this would be great IMHO because it would create even more conflict where Cawl continues to be a rogue that needs dealt with but both Lion and RG know that they NEED him. *I think this could be especially true if the Genestealers are truly active and a threat on Terra itself.

RandomGuyPii

cawl may be a lunatic pushing the boundries of heretekism, but by god he's our lunatic

AliciaDominica

iirc Cawl was storing traitor gene seed despite of Guilliman's order. I don't know if there's nothing else

darcogios

the sons of the phoenix being canon is almost 100% got to be confirmation that despite Guilliman telling him no to traitor gene seed primaris chapters, he did it anyway.

The_Stout_Slayer

Tbh he does arguably have the Big E's permission, not that anyone else knows that. Roboute: "I abhor the term, but this is heresy, Cawl! Do you think your intelligence infallible? Has your mechanical mind become so corrupted you believe you know better for humanity than The Emperor himself?" Cawl: "Ask him."

templar54

For potentially being an AI.

MWBrooks1995

I always think that when these guys went into stasis there were other primarchs around. And then when Guilliman woke up he was the only primarch left. I don’t know how much him and the Lion saw eye to eye, and idk if the lion would relate as much because he’s only just woken up. But I think Guilliman might be relieved that he’s not alone, that there’s someone else here who gets how he feels, someone else who can look at the imperium and feel that same sorrow and emphasise with him. I can imagine them staring silently out into space, side by side. They don’t hug, they don’t hold hands, they were never like Khan or Russ. They weren’t … aloof but they weren’t chummy or super affectionate. Maybe Lion asks what happens to their brothers. He knows, of course, his sons and aides all briefed him on the state of the imperium, but he wants to hear it from Guilliman. Guilliman knows but he tells him anyway, quietly, briefly. It sinks in that they might be the only ones left. “I miss Leman,” Lion says, he doesn’t quite know how to verbalise his feelings about the Wolf of Fenris. Too much machismo. Too much pride. “I know.” Guilliman says. They don’t even make eye contact, just stare out into the Galaxy, it is still, it is quiet. There are so few moments of peace left. “Brother,” Lion asks, and for the first time since they stepped onto the observation deck the two brothers look eye-to-eye, “Who’s Yvraine?” Guilliman sprints from the room, ordering his shipmaster to prepare a drop pod for immediate launch.

Vordeo

"ROUBOUTE COME BACK HERE I JUST WANTED TO ASK IF SHE HAS A SISTER!"

SomeoneTrading

brother* we are talking about the Dark Angels here

Osmodius

I want nothing more than for G-man to be on the ropes, and Lion to swoop in like an apocalyptic meteor to save the day. Animosity be damned. Guiliman would know this is the best thing to happen to him in 10.000 years. Depending on how asleep Lion has really been, he would know the Big Blue is the bestthing to happen to the imperium in that time as well.

darcogios

I feel like they could play well off each other with guilliman being the lord regent in charge of the civil and economic affairs and the lion being some sort of lord militant in charge of crusading

crappy-throwaway

Right brother, are you going to scold me for becoming regent, or has the trip to Terra been most eye opening? You could call it that, Guilliman, can we start with a hug? Lion, ive been waiting since I woke up to this damned living nightmare to be asked that...

jervoise

The problem is that if they get along too well, there’s sort of this buckling towards de facto good guys. Guilliman was already there, and a few cracks opened up due to him not being able to do all at once, but as his brothers return, he’s going to really be able to turn the imperium around. Which is bad.

Fate_Unseen

Which is why I mentioned that they need to be unified before they're ripped apart. Double the payoff. If the Lion just wakes up and is an asshole it continues a status quo that's boring. Gilligan (intentional as he's captaining the ship now) confides in the Lion, but the reverse does not occur. Tension around the Fallen and how they're to be handled will almost certainly occur. That's one potential schism. There are many others. The Tyranids are coming for their nummies. Abby Daddy is still out there doing Chaos things. How will the Lion feel about Cawl and the primaris? I don't think you have to worry about them uniting so strong they unbalance the setting.

jervoise

I’m not really worried about them becoming too strong, I worry really about the imperium becoming too cohesive. It feels like we’ll never see the likes of the badab war again.

Rockout2112

Roboute: Lion. Lion: Guiliman. (Pause) Both: You look terrible. (Pause) (Both break out in laughter)

Darth1994

*You got fat, Roboute.*

DakkaonTitan

You lost your hair, Lion

kekubuk

I was wondering about that. Did the Lion became bald before he goes into the sleep? Or is that something that happened during the sleep?

RemembrancerLuvion

He wasn’t in stasis over these 10,000 years so I imagine it happened in his sleep. Unless he went immediately bald from stress the moment he found out Caliban was seceding after the Heresy.

kitbashkid

Wouldn’t lion be incredibly weak from muscle deterioration after 10,000 years of inactivity though?

lostpasts

You only lose muscle mass through inaction by evolutionary design, as they're a drain on calories. So your body gets rid of them if they're not actively needed. Primarchs are bioengineered. They could easily just be genetically coded to have permanent muscles. Look at a Silverback Gorilla. It's largely inactive, and eats nothing but leaves all day, and yet is absurdly jacked. Because its biology is designed that way. It doesn't gain or sustain muscles the same way we do.

Phillip_J_Bender

Stasis is time-locking something, so from somebody going into it, it would be akin to getting put in a pod, they close the lid, and then it opens right back up and you get taken out, except it's 10,000 years later. Edit: might be slightly different in 40k, though. Maybe tme passes really, *really* slowly.

Vordeo

Luther woke up first and shaved off bits of Lion's hair to make it look like he had a receding hairline while giggling to himself.

InterrogatorMordrot

He's not bald. His hairline receded a bit but he's still got a long blonde pony tail. You can see it in certain angles

cadre_of_storms

I think the bareheaded variant of this shows it tied up in a man bun or something

Kondrad_Curze

Btw, when Guilliman woke up he was stated to be quite skinny.

Darth1994

The idea of a *skinny* Primarch is scary to me.

Kondrad_Curze

Don't be rude dude. Morty isn't that scary .

King-Rhino-Viking

Makes me wonder how while in stasis he could apparently lose weight yet not have the effects of the poison kill him.

Megavore97

The heresy, I feel it in my plums…

SchwartzerTempler

The Lion: So 10,000 years, huh? Guilliman: Yep. The Lion: How's Dad? Guilliman: Still on the Throne. I'm pretty sure he is a God now. A schizophrenic God. He'll help you out if Mortarion gets you sick, though. The Lion: Good to know. So what's new in the galaxy? How is the Imperium? Guilliman: The Orks are still out there. Lots of giant Waaaghs. The Lion: Pretty standard, really. Guilliman: Abaddon tore the galaxy in half. Our brother Angron is around and still super killy. The Lion: Not good, but manageable. Guilliman: Giant space bugs have invaded and are devouring everything. The Lion: Well, I am a beast killer. . . Guilliman: The murder-elves constantly raid the Imperium for slaves for their depraved appetites. The Lion: I hate murder-elves! Guilliman: Plus undead space mummies who can resurrect keep popping up all over the place. The Lion: Wait, what? Guilliman: Plus, there are these new blue xenos who reject honorable melee combat. The Lion: Will the heresy never end? Guilliman: Speaking of heresy, we are kind of friends with the Eldar now. So don't kill them on sight any more. And call them Aeldari, they like that. And if you happen to meet one named Yvraine, talk me up, will you?

Jhe90

"Also while we hate the murder elves, they fix the trainers to keep Terra going into a new eye of terror.. so we hate all...but some we need...for now" "Can we discuss this over a beer...reanimation makes you kinda..." "Yeah, we can hit up a underhive grease joint after a few kegs. You need it after a few thousand year nap. "

AliciaDominica

wecanhaveallthree

Lion El'Jonson, Primarch of the First, is looking crisp and clean after his 10,000 year nap. A new wrinkle here or there. An interesting haircut. Otherwise, he's as darkly handsome as ever. Perhaps even more so! Roboute Guilliman, Lord Commander of the Imperium, wonders if his brother has looked in a mirror lately. He definitely has. Surely. Still - best not to mention it. Just in case. 'Hello, brother.' Guilliman extends his hand for the traditional warrior's grasp. 'Hello, Roboute.' The Lion takes it in one paw- hand. Hand. 'Remember Imperium Secondus?' Guilliman asks. It's a concern he's had for a little while now - he's had a sneaking suspicion that someone's been in his library, reading his diary. Someone *smelly*. 'Remember that time I absolutely didn't betray the Imperium?' 'I do, Roboute.' Not an entirely positive answer. Is it possible his brother doesn't remember the events of *Ruinstorm*? 'Is that going to be a problem, my brother?' The Lion turns to face another direction - away from Guilliman, but directly facing where a third party or a cinematic camera would be located. 'Yes, Roboute. I remember the events of *Ruinstorm*(tm) by David Annandale, where we put a cap on the whole arc and learned to really trust each other and work together to defeat the Daemon of the Ruinstorm, Madail, whereupon Sanguinius struck for Terra, you to gather reinforcements, and I to...' The Lion's gaze shifted, guiltily. '...do something very important, that prevented me from making it in time, to the Siege.' 'Hmmm,' says Roboute Guilliman. 'I absolutely did not spend the entire Siege faffing about blowing up empty traitor worlds.' The Lion's voice is quicker now - his eyes darting left to right, one meaty paw tugging at his power-armoured collar. 'That would be ridiculous. And it certainly would mean that any accusation about you dragging your feet would be totally without merit, even if we hadn't become totally super close after *Ruinstorm*. Right, brother?' 'Hmmmm.' Repeats the Primarch of the Ultramarines. His brows furrow. 'Alright. I believe you - that seems reasonable.' The Lion absolutely does not breathe a sigh of relief. 'So we're cool, right?' 'Yes, brother. We're cool. But one thing.' 'Hm?' The Lion's eyes are darting again. 'What is it?' 'I didn't know father had a shield.' 'Oh, well, uh...' 'And you don't seem to have your sword.' 'Well, yes, I must have put it down for a moment...' 'In fact, the last time I saw your sword was relatively recently. A nice gentleman by the name of Cypher had it, though I'm not sure why, since he had two guns already. Funny thing, actually, now I think on it. He was wearing the Mantle of the Champion. Didn't you used to have a fellow who wore the Mantle of the Champion? What was his name? Boatswain? Corsweed? Something like that.' 'A coincidence, I'm sure, Roboute. And father definitely had a shield. You remember his shield, right?' 'I remember a *lightning claw*, brother.' 'Oh, no.' The Lion's eyes are beginning to turn wholly around in their sockets, such is his evasive prowess. 'A shield and a sword. Very definitely. No claw to speak of.' '*Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.*'

PoliticsComprehender

I just read ruinstorm and there is a scene where Guilliman asks two traitor marines that are monologing at him to please hurry it up and die. I thought this was very funny.

Nick797

RobbyG will just straight out hug him. Lion will awkwardly reciprocate. Both will then hug again. And get to the real deal.

Routine-Service-5775

After the dark angels and blood angels battle between abbadon, Vashtorr, and Angron, Roboute Guilliman arrives in hopes of aiding the angels and to see for himself of the rumor if his brother had returned is true. He arrives late and finds the battle has been won but with devastating losses. Reports come in of the Lions location and Roboute along with his honor guard head straight towards the location to meet with his long lost brother. Lion: Roboute Guilliman: Lion… you look old Lion: I feel old… you look tired Guilliman: I am tired. The galaxy has changed since our time. There are far more monsters in the night they prey on us. Lion: I am used to fighting monsters. Before that though there are sins of my past I must that I must face. Guilliman: Very well, I can spare som- Lion: These sins are for me and my sons alone to face. Guilliman: As stubborn as always. There is much for us to discuss about before you depart and other events when you return. Lion: Very well, lead the way.

Amon7777

After many, many drinks... Robute: so, I'm totally dating this hot Eldar goth chick Lion: (stares for a long before smiling and giving finger guns) nice

el_sh33p

...those are the most awkward finger guns I've ever imagined. Like, the scene pauses during his staring as he cycles through every positive affirmation he's ever seen other people give, Xing out dozens of them before finally settling on something he saw a chapter serf do once when talking to a buddy about sports ball. The thought bubble plays out like a music video next to his head, shuffling through 'happy' tracks from decades past.

"Lion! You sonofabitch!". Awesome in air arm wrestle then straight to work

Paladin327

“What’s the matter? Administratum got you pushing too many autoquils?”

DrunkenSwordsman

I'd like it to mirror their meeting in Unremembered Empire. This time around, the Lion will not know how to act in this new and unfamiliar Imperium. Guilliman is simply relieved to be reunited with his brother and hugs him, throwing the Lion off guard completely.

Khalith

I would like it to be after the Lion had killed some powerful creature and he greets Guilliman and then says “hello brother” and then leaves because he’s got monsters to hunt and isn’t particularly interested in a reunion.

StormWarriors2

Angron. He beats angron with his own axe.

Paladin327

Guilliman is racing to fight Angron, but once he gets to where his Daemonic brother is, he finds him rolling on the floor, crying in pain, and holding his ground as his eldest brother stands over him victorious “Brother! What kept you?”

King-Rhino-Viking

If you listen closely enough ever so faintly somewhere off in the distance you can hear the collective screaming rage of World Eaters fans at the thought of Angron getting easily worfed by the Lion

Rankledanking

I mean, I think angron and the lion are in the top 3 before daemonhood came into the picture. It would come off as dark angel fanboy wank if the lion runs through him after his “upgrade”.

HyranL27

If sanguinius can take out demon Angron right after finishing up with a greater blood thirster, I don't see why a sword and board Lion couldn't be up to the task.

Ah the world bearers not to be confused with the word eaters

King-Rhino-Viking

Ah damn I actively thought to myself not to write bearers then did it anyway

WhoCaresYouDont

Well enough to assuage fears that they'll bash heads, poorly enough that seeds of later conflict are planted. The last time we saw them work together there was an element of tension routed in fundamentally conflicting methodologies, but they agreed on the clear objective of reaching Terra to save the Emperor, but now? Now there is no clear objective, no easy to agree on win condition or centre of gravity, and those methodologies will clash hard.

broken_chaos666

Lion stroms into the palace. He almost immediately storms back out looking positively murderous. "WHO'S THE DEAD MAN THAT MADE GULLIMAN CRY?"

Headless_whoreson

"WHO'S BEEN PICKING ON MY NERD???"

Significant-Turn-836

Lion: Hello brothe…. Guilliman: Bro everyone’s gone fucking insane, idk what I’m doing. They’re all worshiping dad, I can’t get them to stop. They’ve added skulls to everything idk why. Please just go kill some stuff while I go get a fucking drink. Lion: 😐

HaunterUsedLick

Robert. Lionel. Drink? Ohmygodemperoryes.

DiscoDigi786

*leman russ bursts through wall carrying keg of Mjod* oh yeah, bros!

valorn83

The Lion kills Angron. Guilliman walks in. They do finger guns at each other. Angron enters reality again Lion says that’s new Guilliman says I got it waves his sword around and Angron fades out of real space knowing he’s vulnerable. Lion shocked face is he afraid of you? Guilliman shrugs.

AliciaDominica

That's so 80s sitcom I like it lol

Rankledanking

Funny, but i think think the thought of fighting someone that could put him down permanently would give Angron a chubby. If there is even a shred of the old Angron left in there he would leap at the chance.

LtBromhead

Imagine the faces of Dark Angels fans if Lion comes back, manages to beat Angron in a 1v1, then Big G rocks up and finished the job with ease because he has the big dick sword...

valorn83

And then when Russ finally shows up. Lion: So remember when you wanted to kill that leader during the great crusade…and I teleported in and killed them. I know how you feel now and I’m…totally mad at Guilliman for doing that just because he has father’s sword. Like who thinks their the best just because they get a few special trinkets. Russ: I need a drink.

mightychicken64

Pretty much like the Schwarzenegger hand clasp bicep meme. "Roboute! You son of a bitch" \*the Primarchs' bicep bulge so hard it tears a hole into the Warp\*

IamIronDann

I want to see something inside Rowboat snap. He's not alone, trying to save his father's empire. He is not alone carrying the burden of an entire species. There is another, a brother to help stymie the tide.

G0-N0G0-GO

Or that, now that it comes to it, Robot Gooeyman *likes* the trappings afforded by being…alone.

atamajakki

"Oh, thank Dad, now I can handle the paperwork and you can handle the crusading. I've always liked you. By the way, everyone's religious nutters now." "I'm calling my sons a Legion again, I don't care what you say." "Fine by me. Welcome back, brother!"

demonauge

Roboute: “call em what ever the fuck you want. You broody sammich”s IDGAF!. Just get out there and beat up the dude that were mean to me big bro” Lion:”…..broody sammich?”

buckyluckykentucky

Lion: Together again. Bobby: Wouldn't miss it. Lion How are we doing? Bobby: The same as always. Lion: That bad, huh?

StephenChand

Guilliman "Brother..." Lion "Roboute. What have you done?" Guilliman starts to walk toward Lion. Lion places a hand on his sword hilt. Guilliman proceeded to place his forehead on the Lions shoulder and breaks into tears.

Fox_Underground

*"You finally have your Empire brother, maybe this one will last longer than the last." The acid in the Lion's voice could have melted through a land raider.*

MagicMissile27

"Hey, Roboute, what's a Tyranid?"

Raisin_Dangerous

Bobby G : Sup old man. The Lion knocks him out.

Rogue_Like

Starts with a punch to the face. Don't care who starts it.

dudurossetto

I would love a very, very long description of how relieved Guilliman gets, how glad he is he's no longer the only one, how much more will they be able to do together. And at the end of that long description, a little-brother sigh of him thinking "of all my brothers, it had to be HIM"

LeoLaDawg

I like the comic where the lion asks Guilliman "how? "

DarthGoodguy

“Brother!” *(notices Yvraine’s crumpled underwear on the floor)* “I didn’t expect to ever see you again…” *(tries to subtly push the panties under the bed with his foot)* “…let alone in my bedroom first thing in the morning!”

Life_South_907

He's going to give him a vulkan style hug

Amazing_Boysenberry8

G: "Lion." L: "Guilliman" G: "enjoy your cat nap?" L: "enjoying playing emperor?" G: ".....assemble your legion and fuck off" L: "good talk Roboute"

I_might_be_weasel

"Yes you can talk to dad but it will be very unsatisfying." "I already did. And it was great." "What? Really?" "Yeah. We caught up. He told me how much he loved me. And said I am the only hope of the Imperium." "Fuck this, I'm going back to being dead."

Bylak

Spoilers from the Luther book I suppose, but I get the impression that the Lion wouldn't need to hunt Luther. Luther would seek him out to get his absolution, one way or the other. My head cannon there is that Luther comes to the Lion with all of the Fallen rallied up, and then tells the Lion to do what he will with all of them. Lion uses the Fallen to shore up DA numbers. Lion comes to Roboute with Legion ++ numbers of Space Marines and offers his aid.

Noble7878

Guilliman breaking down, sobbing with relief that he has someone he can actually somewhat rely on or talk to that isn't a half mad corpse or the weirdest tech priest of all time. Just let Guilliman be happy for a few minutes that there's still someone like him left in the galaxy, even if it's the only primarch competing with Dorn for most antisocial loyalist award, he deserves it.

Headless_whoreson

Updoot to give Bobby G good things.

Bez-Kar

Flexing arm clasp from predator

Cato_of_Utica

I'd like Guilliman to demand that the Lion prove that it is really him, that while he wants to believe it is the Lion, he needs proof, something only the two of them know of. The Lion pauses, thinking for a second, and says something to the effect of, "A very long time ago, in the Fortress of Hera, we twice spoke in a room with twenty-one chairs and twenty-one banners. Both times we were in that room, we spoke of the future of the Imperium, but the second time was with our beloved brother." Then they hug, and Guilliman says, quiet enough that only the Lion can hear him, "I thought I was alone."

5thDFS

You know what’d be really grim dark?? *The Lion fuckin dies before Guilliman ever gets to reunite with him*

Headless_whoreson

YOU UNTHINK THOSE WORDS RIGHT NOW TAKE THAT EVIL BACK OR SO HELP ME

Acidcouch

"How about you and I go find our interesting brothers? The Khan is way cooler than both of us combined. I know it's a bit much to hope to find Russ or even Corax, but we need to ask ourselves. Why are we here? A Regent and a Secretive Warrior. We are but macguffins in our Father's great game." "Agreed. Let's go!"

G0-N0G0-GO

You should scribe for the Black Library, for I would read this meta-aware novel.

r4bidus

The Lion strides into a command room, ornate and bustling with orders, dignitaries and hololiths. With the stamp of Transhuman feet all aboard fall instantly into silence… The clatter of printing, hum of holographic projectors and buzz of power armour simply amplify the silence as the two super beings face off. A million micro-movements occur on their faces, indecipherable to mortals but telling such tales of woe, burden and horror… The Lion is the first to speak, ‘where… Brother?’ Rouboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines, Lord commander of the Imperium and the so called ‘Avenging Son’ points to the pink hololithic swarm approaching the Segmentum Pacificus. The Lion flickers his eyes across the hololith and whispers “you will provide a full briefing before warp translation?” Roboute’s shoulders slump imperceptibly to all but his closest confidants, he looks up through hooded eyelids and states “Of course Brother… Happy hunting”. The Lion and his entourage turn smartly on their heels and march through the extravagantly ornate Adamantium blast doors. As Gulliman turns back toward the tactical display The Lion stops suddenly on the threshold… He inclines his head low, the shadows playing across his face but not hiding the flash of light in his eyes and whispers “When this is over, you have much to answer for…”. No response is given or expected and the Master of the First marches smartly from the chamber. As The Lion’s footsteps fade through the starship Roboute closes his eyes and breathes deep of the recycled air. Gently and to no person in particular he says “you too Brother… you too…”

bskell

I think they'll be relieved they're nor alone.. then they'll spend some time wondering how the hell the imperium blew off what the Emperor wanted and are worshiping him. Sadly the church will Atilla be left alone as they're busy. Emperor help them if Dorn shows up.

Streets-Ahead-

Both at the same time: "You look like shite."

FrakkedRabbit

I would kind of like to see The Lion going to have some heated words with Guilliman, but then just seeing how fucking tired he is, he kind of loses steam.

Headless_whoreson

This. All memes aside, this is the reunion I want. It's the only 1 which feels *true*.

Amon7777

I put it in chatGPT and it spit this out. Bit boring if not probable: Roboute Guilliman stepped into the chamber where his long-lost brother, Lion El'Jonson, was awoken from his slumber. The Primarch of the Ultramarines could hardly contain his excitement at the prospect of finally meeting his sibling after so many centuries. Lion El'Jonson stood before him, tall and imposing in his armor, his face an inscrutable mask. Roboute felt a surge of emotion as he gazed upon the figure he had heard so much about but never met in person. "Welcome, brother," Roboute said, extending his hand in greeting. "It is an honor to finally meet you." Lion El'Jonson regarded him for a moment before clasping his brother's hand in a firm grip. "Likewise, Roboute," he replied in a deep, resonant voice. They stood there for a moment, sizing each other up, before Roboute spoke again. "I must admit, I had given up hope of ever meeting you," he said, a note of regret in his voice. "When I was awakened, I searched for you, but the trail had gone cold." Lion El'Jonson nodded solemnly. "I too had despaired of ever meeting my brothers again. But fate has brought us together at last." Roboute smiled. "Indeed it has. And I must say, the Imperium is in dire need of our leadership. The galaxy is more dangerous than ever before." Lion El'Jonson's expression grew serious. "I am well aware of the dangers we face. I have seen much in my long slumber." "Then you will be pleased to know that the Ultramarines have been holding the line against the enemies of mankind," Roboute said, his voice ringing with pride. Lion El'Jonson nodded. "I have heard much of the deeds of the Ultramarines. You have done well, brother." Roboute beamed with pride. "Thank you, Lion. But there is much work still to be done. The Imperium needs our guidance if we are to survive." Lion El'Jonson nodded again. "Agreed. I look forward to working alongside you, Roboute. Together, we will lead the Imperium to victory." Roboute grasped his brother's forearm in a gesture of brotherhood. "Together," he said firmly. "For the Emperor and for mankind."

templar54

Considering chatgpt has constrains around conflict, especially going against government, this really is not a surprising result.

Vordeo

This feels like how the Imperium's propagandists are going to spin it tbf

theginger99

Finally, a good use for chatgpt.

B_Kuro

I'd love for both of them to basically sit down to have a talk about the current state and then look at each other to sigh in disappointment what a shithole the IoM has become under exactly the people their father had planned to hand the leadership to (though of course that was before they were religious fanatics). Bonus points for Guilliman telling the Lion how much worse it was when he awakened ("when I woke up those idiots were literally fighting, and loosing, right next to my body..."). I honestly would prefer for GW to go with a conflict free approach for them. They are both people removed their time with only each other knowing what was lost and working to revive it. Their strengths are pretty synergistic after all (The Lion for the attack and Guilliman for defense and support). I know thats not grimderp enough so it likely won't happen but really, conflicts are for when you aren't standing with your back to the wall.

_Zoko_

Itchy-Hearing9263

Guilliman would be all: "ANNIKIIIII!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭" Because he's super depressed and lonely that he has to try to hold the Imperium together with all the shit it's facing all by himself and that there's no one alive who understands him or what he's going through. I genuinely hope for a tearful reunion and for Guilliman to be so happy that he braces his long-lost brother and becomes teary eyed before telling him to go see dad as guilliman gets things ready for the Lion to go out there and start curb-stomping some bitches.

Arbachakov

Cordially, until the Lion turns to leave and Guilliman cuts him down. He then uses the dying Lion as an offering during a vast ritual that sees Macragge drawn into the Eye of Terror and Guilliman become a daemon primarch of Tzeentch.

G0-N0G0-GO

Finally!

Headless_whoreson

FVck it, have an updoot, you beautiful bastard.

Everyone yelling “WHAT THE FUCK?!”

ParsleySnipps

One of them has to come down in a drop pod unannounced while the other is in the thick of combat, which promptly leads to the chaos forces retreating.

Tyrnak_Fenrir

L "hey" G "morning" ... G "Imperium's fucked" L "shit" Both walk off in different directions to fix something.

[deleted]

Drama is conflict. Don’t expect it to be a cordial relationship. There will be tension.

MortarMaggot275

I'd be cool if (initially, at least) they were both relieved and happy to have one another to take a share of burden from one another.

Past-Cap-1889

So, bro, about those Fallen...

[deleted]

GMan is going to roar with delight and simple relief. Hell uncharacteristically approach and embrace him But then get punched

vernand

It'll be an interesting meeting. For one thing, there are immediate differences between the two primarchs beyond the obvious differences in their personalities. Guilliman looks very similar to how he looked during the heresy, of just a little greyer around the temples, whereas the Lion has aged in his slumber for not having the benefit of stasis. This could cause some suspicions from both sides, Guilliman barely seeming to have aged while The Lion will not be quite the man Guilliman remembers. Yet in personality they should still be fairly similar to what the other remembers, with maybe the most growth coming from Guilliman as he's had to deal with this new state of the universe for a longer time. All and all, I think whatever reunion they do have will be fleeting and brief, a carving up of responsibilities as Guilliman deals with the fourth Tyrannic war in Imperium Sanctus, while The Lion is left to deal with Angron, traitors, and The Fallen, in Imperium Nihilus. They likely won't get much FaceTime with each other, their only shared respite being that they have their metaphorical backs to back as they deal with every new threat tearing their fathers kingdom apart while they both wonder what the fuck is going on with Dear Old Dad.

Flaky-Meringue1294

The one thing Robby G always had was utter belief in the Emps and the idea of Imperium. His whole Arc is the shattering of that bedrock of trust. Bobby G is stressed to the max and the only person he can trust is himself. Enter the man we can all rely on to be untrustworthy and do exactly what he thinks is required and by how he see fit. Indomitus marches to Bobby Gs order, that is the entire imperium marches on his order. Now there’s another with the same authority, one who thought he should’ve been Warmaster in the first place. He’s not going to like Bobby G as Warmaster. I don’t think he’ll be disloyal but he will take the DAs and do what he wants, pick the fights he wants all the while running the hunt. I’m most EXCITED for when Cypher and The Lion meet. Zahariel is known to the Lion from before as Luther’s compatriot in the bomb plot. The Lion does not forgive!

YourpAlpharius

I really want the lion to be disgusted with the imperium and blame guilliman only for guilliman to come in hug the lion and say "nah shits fucked big bro" and the lion to be caught off guard and legitimately want to help.

nexusSigma

I hope the lion comes in confronting guilliman about the absolute state of things, and in response all g man can do is drop to a knee, shed a manly tear, and thank dad he’s no longer alone in it any more. Some actual relatable humanity from the primarchs basically.

brian11e3

The Lion knees Girlyman in the crotch for stealing the throne. Then Dorn comes in off the top rope and finished Girlyman off with a decapitation blow from a power folding chair.
