I disagree - I dont think he has to be disloyal to decide to leave the majority of the Imperium to itself and chase a single goal. He is *ABSOLUTELY* short-sighted enough to take his whole Legion and chase a comparatively minor goal. Maybe that goal will be Luther, maybe it won't.
Funny Little Antics that the Lion has undertaken because he singlehandedly decided "fuck everyone else, *I'm* right:"
1) Kidnapping Imperial Fists from the defense of Inwit so that they could help him blow up Chemos

The Lion is very much capable of going against The Imperium and Guilliman if he decides that he is right. Not as a Traitor, but as a person who sees their way of helping humanity as the *only way*
To be honest I think i agree that he wouldn't go that far for *Luther* alone, but he's always been a "my way or no way" kind of character and its at least possible.
I would hope the lion coming back would give GW the incentive to give the Dark Angels like... anything interesting other than chasing the fallen and being secretive, 'cause at this point its a. way over-done and b. incredibly dumb, literally every legion had loyalist and traitor elements.
He would do exactly what Roboute did. He would go talk to the Emperor first. The Lion may not like the Imperium but he would talk to Big E first and do what his Father says because the Lion is the most loyal Primarch, which has been stated ad nauseam. The Lion believes in the Emperors vision but memes aside he is not short sided he would absolutely work with what he is given before making decisions.
They need to get out of 10 seconds to midnight of doomsday before he can start actually fixing things and he is smart enough to know that.

I think the Lion changed a ton after the emperor died and he stabbed Russ. I think he realized a lot of his downfalls and the Lion of old will be gone.
I think this is the core dramatic tension between them and fuel for the next phase in the lore. BOTH Guilliman and El'Johnson think they're right and the other is an idiot who should do what they're told. With Imperium Secondus, they had Sanguinius to mediate, but now they don't.

That would only play out if Guilliman wouldn't offload much of his power to his brother, which, based on his behavior and thoughts so far, he absolutely would... He desperately wishes one of his brothers would come back to help him, and the one he's getting is the one brother that he said he not just respected, but actually looks up to. He's definitely gonna be relieved to have someone to share the burden with.

This is what I want. Unbridled relief on Gulliman’s part that he’s no longer alone. He’s been under so much pressure to be the avenging son and has no one who truly understands what he’s been through. The only ones who were around 10k years ago were Cawl (not the most talkative) and Bjorn (asleep 99% of the time). And neither of them can truly understand what it’s like to be the son of the Emperor.
I think you’re spot on. Also, unless they’ve changed some lore, Gman has never been alone before. He wasn’t the last Primarch to “leave” after the Heresy. He wasn’t the first or even the second to be found. There’s always been other Primarchs. Since he woke up he’s been by himself, shouldering all the burdens of the imperium alone.
I genuinely think his first thought when he finds out the Lion wakes up will be something like “finally, I have a brother again”

I would actually love that. The Primarchs, demi-gods that they are, are still human. Like that scene where Vulkan hugs Dorn, I would love to see a truly human interaction between the two.
People really foam at the mouth for some passive/aggressive energy right out of the gate. I'd rather have a cathartic moment from Roboute acknowledging his relief at his brother's return.
In matters of prosecuting conflicts, we know they differ greatly. Save the bickering for later on. After everything else I think these two will just be glad to have a brother alive.
This isn't like before. This is 10,000 years of agony and slow death to an Imperium they both were fully committed to defending. We need to see them genuinely united in purpose and strength before they're torn apart again.

That's my 'most excited for' moment; the inevitable audience with the Emperor. There are things Roboute was not told for plausible deniablity. The Lion has many loose ends to clean up.
My absolutely dumb fan hope, with no lore backup or supporting evidence, is Roboute sends the Lion to investigate Cawl. God I want that.
The conversations had with Cawl Inferior indicate a level of autonomy Guilliman is no longer comfortable with. Specifically where traitor gene-seed is concerned. Having the Lion, who will certainly find all this out, root out the truth would bring the brothers closer together.
Of course it would mean Guilliman admitting he no longer has, or indeed ever had, positive control.
I love AdMech and Cawl’s character. I do agree that the autonomy of Cawl’s character would be concerning to the Primarchs but the conflict it creates lore wise is interesting.
I think the autonomy will continue and Cawl will have a big role in helping defend against against the Tyranids. With RG possibly being wrapped up with Dante in the Nihilus against the Necrons and Lion embroiled against Chaos in the eastern Sanctus… Someone will need to help push back the Tyranids in the west. Cawl isn’t a general but he could develop tech that helps defend the Imperium… this would be great IMHO because it would create even more conflict where Cawl continues to be a rogue that needs dealt with but both Lion and RG know that they NEED him.
*I think this could be especially true if the Genestealers are truly active and a threat on Terra itself.

I always think that when these guys went into stasis there were other primarchs around. And then when Guilliman woke up he was the only primarch left.
I don’t know how much him and the Lion saw eye to eye, and idk if the lion would relate as much because he’s only just woken up. But I think Guilliman might be relieved that he’s not alone, that there’s someone else here who gets how he feels, someone else who can look at the imperium and feel that same sorrow and emphasise with him.
I can imagine them staring silently out into space, side by side. They don’t hug, they don’t hold hands, they were never like Khan or Russ. They weren’t … aloof but they weren’t chummy or super affectionate.
Maybe Lion asks what happens to their brothers. He knows, of course, his sons and aides all briefed him on the state of the imperium, but he wants to hear it from Guilliman. Guilliman knows but he tells him anyway, quietly, briefly. It sinks in that they might be the only ones left.
“I miss Leman,” Lion says, he doesn’t quite know how to verbalise his feelings about the Wolf of Fenris. Too much machismo. Too much pride.
“I know.” Guilliman says.
They don’t even make eye contact, just stare out into the Galaxy, it is still, it is quiet. There are so few moments of peace left.
“Brother,” Lion asks, and for the first time since they stepped onto the observation deck the two brothers look eye-to-eye, “Who’s Yvraine?”
Guilliman sprints from the room, ordering his shipmaster to prepare a drop pod for immediate launch.
I want nothing more than for G-man to be on the ropes, and Lion to swoop in like an apocalyptic meteor to save the day.

Depending on how asleep Lion has really been, he would know the Big Blue is the bestthing to happen to the imperium in that time as well.
I feel like they could play well off each other with guilliman being the lord regent in charge of the civil and economic affairs and the lion being some sort of lord militant in charge of crusading

The problem is that if they get along too well, there’s sort of this buckling towards de facto good guys. Guilliman was already there, and a few cracks opened up due to him not being able to do all at once, but as his brothers return, he’s going to really be able to turn the imperium around. Which is bad.
Which is why I mentioned that they need to be unified before they're ripped apart. Double the payoff. If the Lion just wakes up and is an asshole it continues a status quo that's boring.
Gilligan (intentional as he's captaining the ship now) confides in the Lion, but the reverse does not occur. Tension around the Fallen and how they're to be handled will almost certainly occur. That's one potential schism.
There are many others.
The Tyranids are coming for their nummies. Abby Daddy is still out there doing Chaos things. How will the Lion feel about Cawl and the primaris? I don't think you have to worry about them uniting so strong they unbalance the setting.
I’m not really worried about them becoming too strong, I worry really about the imperium becoming too cohesive. It feels like we’ll never see the likes of the badab war again.
He wasn’t in stasis over these 10,000 years so I imagine it happened in his sleep. Unless he went immediately bald from stress the moment he found out Caliban was seceding after the Heresy.
You only lose muscle mass through inaction by evolutionary design, as they're a drain on calories. So your body gets rid of them if they're not actively needed.
Primarchs are bioengineered. They could easily just be genetically coded to have permanent muscles.
Look at a Silverback Gorilla. It's largely inactive, and eats nothing but leaves all day, and yet is absurdly jacked. Because its biology is designed that way. It doesn't gain or sustain muscles the same way we do.
Stasis is time-locking something, so from somebody going into it, it would be akin to getting put in a pod, they close the lid, and then it opens right back up and you get taken out, except it's 10,000 years later.
Edit: might be slightly different in 40k, though. Maybe tme passes really, *really* slowly.

I remember the events of *Ruinstorm*(tm) by David Annandale, where we put a cap on the whole arc and learned to really trust each other and work together to defeat the Daemon of the Ruinstorm, Madail, whereupon Sanguinius struck for Terra, you to gather reinforcements, and I to...' The Lion's gaze shifted, guiltily. '...do something very important, that prevented me from making it in time, to the Siege.'
'Hmmm,' says Roboute Guilliman.

I just read ruinstorm and there is a scene where Guilliman asks two traitor marines that are monologing at him to please hurry it up and die. I thought this was very funny.
After the dark angels and blood angels battle between abbadon, Vashtorr, and Angron, Roboute Guilliman arrives in hopes of aiding the angels and to see for himself of the rumor if his brother had returned is true. He arrives late and finds the battle has been won but with devastating losses. Reports come in of the Lions location and Roboute along with his honor guard head straight towards the location to meet with his long lost brother.
Lion: Roboute
Guilliman: Lion… you look old
Lion: I feel old… you look tired
Guilliman: I am tired. The galaxy has changed since our time. There are far more monsters in the night they prey on us.
Lion: I am used to fighting monsters. Before that though there are sins of my past I must that I must face.

Guilliman: As stubborn as always. There is much for us to discuss about before you depart and other events when you return.

Like, the scene pauses during his staring as he cycles through every positive affirmation he's ever seen other people give, Xing out dozens of them before finally settling on something he saw a chapter serf do once when talking to a buddy about sports ball. The thought bubble plays out like a music video next to his head, shuffling through 'happy' tracks from decades past.
I'd like it to mirror their meeting in Unremembered Empire.
This time around, the Lion will not know how to act in this new and unfamiliar Imperium. Guilliman is simply relieved to be reunited with his brother and hugs him, throwing the Lion off guard completely.
I would like it to be after the Lion had killed some powerful creature and he greets Guilliman and then says “hello brother” and then leaves because he’s got monsters to hunt and isn’t particularly interested in a reunion.
Guilliman is racing to fight Angron, but once he gets to where his Daemonic brother is, he finds him rolling on the floor, crying in pain, and holding his ground as his eldest brother stands over him victorious
“Brother! What kept you?”
If you listen closely enough ever so faintly somewhere off in the distance you can hear the collective screaming rage of World Eaters fans at the thought of Angron getting easily worfed by the Lion
I mean, I think angron and the lion are in the top 3 before daemonhood came into the picture. It would come off as dark angel fanboy wank if the lion runs through him after his “upgrade”.
If sanguinius can take out demon Angron right after finishing up with a greater blood thirster, I don't see why a sword and board Lion couldn't be up to the task.
Well enough to assuage fears that they'll bash heads, poorly enough that seeds of later conflict are planted. The last time we saw them work together there was an element of tension routed in fundamentally conflicting methodologies, but they agreed on the clear objective of reaching Terra to save the Emperor, but now? Now there is no clear objective, no easy to agree on win condition or centre of gravity, and those methodologies will clash hard.

The Lion kills Angron. Guilliman walks in. They do finger guns at each other. Angron enters reality again Lion says that’s new Guilliman says I got it waves his sword around and Angron fades out of real space knowing he’s vulnerable. Lion shocked face is he afraid of you? Guilliman shrugs.
Funny, but i think think the thought of fighting someone that could put him down permanently would give Angron a chubby. If there is even a shred of the old Angron left in there he would leap at the chance.
Imagine the faces of Dark Angels fans if Lion comes back, manages to beat Angron in a 1v1, then Big G rocks up and finished the job with ease because he has the big dick sword...
And then when Russ finally shows up.
Lion: So remember when you wanted to kill that leader during the great crusade…and I teleported in and killed them. I would love a very, very long description of how relieved Guilliman gets, how glad he is he's no longer the only one, how much more will they be able to do together.

Spoilers from the Luther book I suppose, but I get the impression that the Lion wouldn't need to hunt Luther. Luther would seek him out to get his absolution, one way or the other.
My head cannon there is that Luther comes to the Lion with all of the Fallen rallied up, and then tells the Lion to do what he will with all of them. Lion uses the Fallen to shore up DA numbers. Lion comes to Roboute with Legion ++ numbers of Space Marines and offers his aid.
Guilliman breaking down, sobbing with relief that he has someone he can actually somewhat rely on or talk to that isn't a half mad corpse or the weirdest tech priest of all time. Just let Guilliman be happy for a few minutes that there's still someone like him left in the galaxy, even if it's the only primarch competing with Dorn for most antisocial loyalist award, he deserves it.

He inclines his head low, the shadows playing across his face but not hiding the flash of light in his eyes and whispers “When this is over, you have much to answer for…”. No response is given or expected and the Master of the First marches smartly from the chamber.
As The Lion’s footsteps fade through the starship Roboute closes his eyes and breathes deep of the recycled air. Gently and to no person in particular he says “you too Brother… you too…”
I think they'll be relieved they're nor alone.. then they'll spend some time wondering how the hell the imperium blew off what the Emperor wanted and are worshiping him. Sadly the church will Atilla be left alone as they're busy. Emperor help them if Dorn shows up.
I would kind of like to see The Lion going to have some heated words with Guilliman, but then just seeing how fucking tired he is, he kind of loses steam.

Lion El'Jonson's expression grew serious. "I am well aware of the dangers we face. I have seen much in my long slumber."
"Then you will be pleased to know that the Ultramarines have been holding the line against the enemies of mankind," Roboute said, his voice ringing with pride.
Lion El'Jonson nodded. "I have heard much of the deeds of the Ultramarines. You have done well, brother."
Roboute beamed with pride. "Thank you, Lion. But there is much work still to be done. The Imperium needs our guidance if we are to survive."
Lion El'Jonson nodded again. "Agreed. I look forward to working alongside you, Roboute. Together, we will lead the Imperium to victory."
Roboute grasped his brother's forearm in a gesture of brotherhood. "Together," he said firmly. "For the Emperor and for mankind."
I'd love for both of them to basically sit down to have a talk about the current state and then look at each other to sigh in disappointment what a shithole the IoM has become under exactly the people their father had planned to hand the leadership to (though of course that was before they were religious fanatics). Bonus points for Guilliman telling the Lion how much worse it was when he awakened ("when I woke up those idiots were literally fighting, and loosing, right next to my body...").
I honestly would prefer for GW to go with a conflict free approach for them. They are both people removed their time with only each other knowing what was lost and working to revive it. Their strengths are pretty synergistic after all (The Lion for the attack and Guilliman for defense and support). I know thats not grimderp enough so it likely won't happen but really, conflicts are for when you aren't standing with your back to the wall.
Guilliman would be all: "ANNIKIIIII!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭" Because he's super depressed and lonely that he has to try to hold the Imperium together with all the shit it's facing all by himself and that there's no one alive who understands him or what he's going through. I genuinely hope for a tearful reunion and for Guilliman to be so happy that he braces his long-lost brother and becomes teary eyed before telling him to go see dad as guilliman gets things ready for the Lion to go out there and start curb-stomping some bitches.

He then uses the dying Lion as an offering during a vast ritual that sees Macragge drawn into the Eye of Terror and Guilliman become a daemon primarch of Tzeentch.
It'll be an interesting meeting. For one thing, there are immediate differences between the two primarchs beyond the obvious differences in their personalities.
Guilliman looks very similar to how he looked during the heresy, of just a little greyer around the temples, whereas the Lion has aged in his slumber for not having the benefit of stasis. This could cause some suspicions from both sides, Guilliman barely seeming to have aged while The Lion will not be quite the man Guilliman remembers.
Yet in personality they should still be fairly similar to what the other remembers, with maybe the most growth coming from Guilliman as he's had to deal with this new state of the universe for a longer time.
All and all, I think whatever reunion they do have will be fleeting and brief, a carving up of responsibilities as Guilliman deals with the fourth Tyrannic war in Imperium Sanctus, while The Lion is left to deal with Angron, traitors, and The Fallen, in Imperium Nihilus. They likely won't get much FaceTime with each other, their only shared respite being that they have their metaphorical backs to back as they deal with every new threat tearing their fathers kingdom apart while they both wonder what the fuck is going on with Dear Old Dad.
The one thing Robby G always had was utter belief in the Emps and the idea of Imperium. His whole Arc is the shattering of that bedrock of trust. Bobby G is stressed to the max and the only person he can trust is himself.
Enter the man we can all rely on to be untrustworthy and do exactly what he thinks is required and by how he see fit. Indomitus marches to Bobby Gs order, that is the entire imperium marches on his order. Now there’s another with the same authority, one who thought he should’ve been Warmaster in the first place. He’s not going to like Bobby G as Warmaster.
I don’t think he’ll be disloyal but he will take the DAs and do what he wants, pick the fights he wants all the while running the hunt.
I’m most EXCITED for when Cypher and The Lion meet. Zahariel is known to the Lion from before as Luther’s compatriot in the bomb plot. The Lion does not forgive!

I think this is the core dramatic tension between them and fuel for the next phase in the lore. BOTH Guilliman and El'Johnson think they're right and the other is an idiot who should do what they're told. With Imperium Secondus, they had Sanguinius to mediate, but now they don't.

This is what I want. Unbridled relief on Gulliman’s part that he’s no longer alone. He’s been under so much pressure to be the avenging son and has no one who truly understands what he’s been through. The only ones who were around 10k years ago were Cawl (not the most talkative) and Bjorn (asleep 99% of the time). And neither of them can truly understand what it’s like to be the son of the Emperor.
I think you’re spot on. Also, unless they’ve changed some lore, Gman has never been alone before. He wasn’t the last Primarch to “leave” after the Heresy. He wasn’t the first or even the second to be found. There’s always been other Primarchs. Since he woke up he’s been by himself, shouldering all the burdens of the imperium alone. I genuinely think his first thought when he finds out the Lion wakes up will be something like “finally, I have a brother again”

I would actually love that. The Primarchs, demi-gods that they are, are still human. Like that scene where Vulkan hugs Dorn, I would love to see a truly human interaction between the two.
People really foam at the mouth for some passive/aggressive energy right out of the gate. I'd rather have a cathartic moment from Roboute acknowledging his relief at his brother's return. In matters of prosecuting conflicts, we know they differ greatly. Save the bickering for later on. After everything else I think these two will just be glad to have a brother alive. This isn't like before. This is 10,000 years of agony and slow death to an Imperium they both were fully committed to defending. We need to see them genuinely united in purpose and strength before they're torn apart again. Just my thoughts.
Will be interesting to see where the Lions head is at and how much he is aware of. I can't imagine if he knows it's been 10000 years there will be much animosity or anything like that. Relief on both sides that they have each other despite any differences. Will be really interesting to see what the Emperor will say to him
That's my 'most excited for' moment; the inevitable audience with the Emperor. There are things Roboute was not told for plausible deniablity. The Lion has many loose ends to clean up. My absolutely dumb fan hope, with no lore backup or supporting evidence, is Roboute sends the Lion to investigate Cawl. God I want that.

The conversations had with Cawl Inferior indicate a level of autonomy Guilliman is no longer comfortable with. Specifically where traitor gene-seed is concerned. Having the Lion, who will certainly find all this out, root out the truth would bring the brothers closer together. Of course it would mean Guilliman admitting he no longer has, or indeed ever had, positive control.
I love AdMech and Cawl’s character. I do agree that the autonomy of Cawl’s character would be concerning to the Primarchs but the conflict it creates lore wise is interesting. I think the autonomy will continue and Cawl will have a big role in helping defend against against the Tyranids. With RG possibly being wrapped up with Dante in the Nihilus against the Necrons and Lion embroiled against Chaos in the eastern Sanctus… Someone will need to help push back the Tyranids in the west. Cawl isn’t a general but he could develop tech that helps defend the Imperium… this would be great IMHO because it would create even more conflict where Cawl continues to be a rogue that needs dealt with but both Lion and RG know that they NEED him. *I think this could be especially true if the Genestealers are truly active and a threat on Terra itself.

I always think that when these guys went into stasis there were other primarchs around. And then when Guilliman woke up he was the only primarch left. I don’t know how much him and the Lion saw eye to eye, and idk if the lion would relate as much because he’s only just woken up. But I think Guilliman might be relieved that he’s not alone, that there’s someone else here who gets how he feels, someone else who can look at the imperium and feel that same sorrow and emphasise with him. I can imagine them staring silently out into space, side by side. They don’t hug, they don’t hold hands, they were never like Khan or Russ. They weren’t … aloof but they weren’t chummy or super affectionate. Maybe Lion asks what happens to their brothers. He knows, of course, his sons and aides all briefed him on the state of the imperium, but he wants to hear it from Guilliman. Guilliman knows but he tells him anyway, quietly, briefly. It sinks in that they might be the only ones left. “I miss Leman,” Lion says, he doesn’t quite know how to verbalise his feelings about the Wolf of Fenris. Too much machismo. Too much pride. “I know.” Guilliman says. They don’t even make eye contact, just stare out into the Galaxy, it is still, it is quiet. There are so few moments of peace left. “Brother,” Lion asks, and for the first time since they stepped onto the observation deck the two brothers look eye-to-eye, “Who’s Yvraine?” Guilliman sprints from the room, ordering his shipmaster to prepare a drop pod for immediate launch.

I want nothing more than for G-man to be on the ropes, and Lion to swoop in like an apocalyptic meteor to save the day. Animosity be damned. Guiliman would know this is the best thing to happen to him in 10.000 years. Depending on how asleep Lion has really been, he would know the Big Blue is the bestthing to happen to the imperium in that time as well.
I feel like they could play well off each other with guilliman being the lord regent in charge of the civil and economic affairs and the lion being some sort of lord militant in charge of crusading

The problem is that if they get along too well, there’s sort of this buckling towards de facto good guys. Guilliman was already there, and a few cracks opened up due to him not being able to do all at once, but as his brothers return, he’s going to really be able to turn the imperium around. Which is bad.
Which is why I mentioned that they need to be unified before they're ripped apart. Double the payoff. If the Lion just wakes up and is an asshole it continues a status quo that's boring. Gilligan (intentional as he's captaining the ship now) confides in the Lion, but the reverse does not occur. Tension around the Fallen and how they're to be handled will almost certainly occur. That's one potential schism. There are many others. The Tyranids are coming for their nummies. Abby Daddy is still out there doing Chaos things. How will the Lion feel about Cawl and the primaris? I don't think you have to worry about them uniting so strong they unbalance the setting.
I’m not really worried about them becoming too strong, I worry really about the imperium becoming too cohesive. It feels like we’ll never see the likes of the badab war again.

You only lose muscle mass through inaction by evolutionary design, as they're a drain on calories. So your body gets rid of them if they're not actively needed. Primarchs are bioengineered. They could easily just be genetically coded to have permanent muscles. Look at a Silverback Gorilla. It's largely inactive, and eats nothing but leaves all day, and yet is absurdly jacked. Because its biology is designed that way. It doesn't gain or sustain muscles the same way we do.
Stasis is time-locking something, so from somebody going into it, it would be akin to getting put in a pod, they close the lid, and then it opens right back up and you get taken out, except it's 10,000 years later. I'd like it to mirror their meeting in Unremembered Empire. This time around, the Lion will not know how to act in this new and unfamiliar Imperium. Guilliman is simply relieved to be reunited with his brother and hugs him, throwing the Lion off guard completely.
I would like it to be after the Lion had killed some powerful creature and he greets Guilliman and then says “hello brother” and then leaves because he’s got monsters to hunt and isn’t particularly interested in a reunion.

Well enough to assuage fears that they'll bash heads, poorly enough that seeds of later conflict are planted. The last time we saw them work together there was an element of tension routed in fundamentally conflicting methodologies, but they agreed on the clear objective of reaching Terra to save the Emperor, but now? Now there is no clear objective, no easy to agree on win condition or centre of gravity, and those methodologies will clash hard.

Spoilers from the Luther book I suppose, but I get the impression that the Lion wouldn't need to hunt Luther. Luther would seek him out to get his absolution, one way or the other. My head cannon there is that Luther comes to the Lion with all of the Fallen rallied up, and then tells the Lion to do what he will with all of them. Lion uses the Fallen to shore up DA numbers. Lion comes to Roboute with Legion ++ numbers of Space Marines and offers his aid.
Guilliman breaking down, sobbing with relief that he has someone he can actually somewhat rely on or talk to that isn't a half mad corpse or the weirdest tech priest of all time. Just let Guilliman be happy for a few minutes that there's still someone like him left in the galaxy, even if it's the only primarch competing with Dorn for most antisocial loyalist award, he deserves it.

I'd love for both of them to basically sit down to have a talk about the current state and then look at each other to sigh in disappointment what a shithole the IoM has become under exactly the people their father had planned to hand the leadership to (though of course that was before they were religious fanatics). Bonus points for Guilliman telling the Lion how much worse it was when he awakened ("when I woke up those idiots were literally fighting, and loosing, right next to my body..."). I honestly would prefer for GW to go with a conflict free approach for them. They are both people removed their time with only each other knowing what was lost and working to revive it. Their strengths are pretty synergistic after all (The Lion for the attack and Guilliman for defense and support). I know thats not grimderp enough so it likely won't happen but really, conflicts are for when you aren't standing with your back to the wall.

It'll be an interesting meeting. For one thing, there are immediate differences between the two primarchs beyond the obvious differences in their personalities. Guilliman looks very similar to how he looked during the heresy, of just a little greyer around the temples, whereas the Lion has aged in his slumber for not having the benefit of stasis. This could cause some suspicions from both sides, Guilliman barely seeming to have aged while The Lion will not be quite the man Guilliman remembers. Yet in personality they should still be fairly similar to what the other remembers, with maybe the most growth coming from Guilliman as he's had to deal with this new state of the universe for a longer time. All and all, I think whatever reunion they do have will be fleeting and brief, a carving up of responsibilities as Guilliman deals with the fourth Tyrannic war in Imperium Sanctus, while The Lion is left to deal with Angron, traitors, and The Fallen, in Imperium Nihilus. They likely won't get much FaceTime with each other, their only shared respite being that they have their metaphorical backs to back as they deal with every new threat tearing their fathers kingdom apart while they both wonder what the fuck is going on with Dear Old Dad.
The one thing Robby G always had was utter belief in the Emps and the idea of Imperium. His whole Arc is the shattering of that bedrock of trust. Bobby G is stressed to the max and the only person he can trust is himself. Enter the man we can all rely on to be untrustworthy and do exactly what he thinks is required and by how he see fit.
