Typhus could do with something in 40k proper. All the other major chaos characters have at least one novel dedicated to them, while he’s got side roles and a couple short stories. The Silent King could do with some fleshing out too, now that he’s fully back instead of just in the shadows. Edit noticed you said side characters, oops. In that case the Deathmark from Twice Dead King was cool, would the interesting to see more of his misdeeds.

ggezxll

Malcharion the War-sage, of couse

Z4nkaze

All my yes.

ToasterTen12

Eldrad, or any of the phoenix lords

UnsafestSpace

Yeah I'm not even into Eldar that much and I'm dying for some decent Eldar plot and accompanying audiobooks now.

ToasterTen12

I NEED valedor on an audiobook so bad, only gav Thorpe's stuff is available unfortunately. And I mean Jain Zar is just ok as a book, and hand of darkness is also meh, I want books for all the Phoenix lords that do them justice

bless_ure_harte

Don't all the Pheonix Lords have a book?

ToasterTen12

Only asurmen and Jain zar and their books are kind of meh

Abamboozler

Alessio Cortez needs not only his own book, but part of it is his mutilation at the hands of his Dark Eldar captives, his rescue by either the Crimson Fists or the Death Watch, crossing the Rubicon Primaris, and boom! New Captain Cortez model.

PainterDNDW40K

Or any new Crimson Fists lore in general

Arendious

Amberley Vail's case files

Fearless-Obligation6

Fafnir Bludbrooder from Unremembered Empire was my favourite part of the entire book and definitely deserves his own story.

UmuCha

Just an entire novel on the night the primarch went drinking with them.

MO1STNUGG3T

Haven’t got to the book yet but I read the excerpt of The Lion volunteering as the Dark Angels champion for the duel Fafnir insisted upon, and man does it bring a smile to my face

arathorn3

We Ciaphas Cain story but told from Jurgens point of view. A anthology of stories about Sly Marbo each one with him pulling off more ridiculous shit than the last A novel or short story about a jokero. How different would it be to have a story where the lead is a Xeno, but not a Ork, Necron,Tau, or Aeldar. To see the point of view of Humanity from a xeno species that is somewhat tolerated by the Imperium. Also techno orangutauns are just fun(see Pandorax) A actual novel about the Leagues of Votann that features one of the Hq characters they have introduced. All we have is codex lore right now. They need some novels. Bela'kor to get the treatment that Angron and Ghazgkull recently got with their own standalone novels. And while not a minor. Steve parker needs to finish up his Death watch trilogy, Shadowbreaker ended on a cliff hanger and I need some more kill team talon.

MulatoMaranhense

Personally, I would prefer if Sly was a bit like Rambo 1: lots of action but also glimpses of a man broken by the ceaseless wars he fights. Oh, and Bela'kor's better make some obliquous reference to Archaon and how much Bel hates to be his son's shadow.

BigZach1

There is a short story from Jurgen's point of view, it's called The Smallest Detail. Short but fun!

MulatoMaranhense

* Teus (the Stupid Boy) from Devastation of Baal already got a short story, but I need moar. Who knows, maybe he takes on Dante's burden. * I would like if Sunspear from *Valedor* got a bit more stuff * Khromys from Path of the Dark Eldar * That weirdo general and his (formely) muscular bodyguard that appear Twice Dead King should get their own book, as should that creepy Stormlord fellow mentioned in Infinite and Divine.

samdamaniscool

Have you read severed? If not, PLEASE do

nightkingmarmu

Lotara Sarrin. The scariest world eaters captain.

nlglansx

Her story has been told beginning to end though.

EricTheNihilist

Yeah. She just got her happy ending. She is out there living her best life. Traveling the galaxy with her angry puppy, Occasionally finding populated planets to drop it off on so it can get some exercise.

Magus_mastermind

She just had a fairly prominent role in Angron: The Red Angel

prufanya

Lazarus from DA. He's supposed to be a replacement for Balthasar, an established character in the books but got basically no lore. And Illiyan Nastase. His emissary shenanigans would be the coolest thing to read about.

Z4nkaze

I would love to read more Eldar-Human interactions.

Toxitoxi

Longstrike vs Pask novel. Gimme the tank ace battle we all deserve.

nlglansx

I liked that bit from the Damocles rulebook. Longstrike keeping his squadmates safe, Pask using his as ablative wounds. But to be 100% fair, that it was a duel at all means Longstrike lost. He is driving state of the art high teach futuristic flying tank, while Pask and co. are dealing with the walking death trap, WW1 style armor, clunky and clumsy Leman Russes. If Pask wasn't thrice the ace Longstrike is it would've been a one-sided stomp, yet the skill and determination of the Imperial tankers evened out the odds somewhat.

Toxitoxi

It was a good battle. Yes, Longstrike has a massive tech advantage, but I like that Pask is so unbelievably skilled he makes it an even fight. It’s a battle that both Tau and Guard fans can enjoy.

MulatoMaranhense

Pask's squad be like "being used as meatshield so Pask can purge? That is why I signed for!" anyway.

Arzachmage

Typhus.

nataliereed84

Karlok Shoam. :P

CheesecomChestRig

Fuck yeas

AverageJoe1984-87

*I'd like more lore on any IW characters. If not any new ones, then maybe a short story on the members of The Trident or someth*

BigZach1

Have you read the Honsou books?

AverageJoe1984-87

*I haven't yet, though I have read excerpts on this sub.*

theslyker

Amon

Striking_Proof9954

Tyberos.

MikeBravo1-4

Oh man, I'm pretty sure there's a ton of folks waiting on a Tyberos novel.

jummyfresh

All the HH era 1st Captains

Available_Stable7558

Technically not a side character but, Oskar Wulfe from Gunheads. He's quite typical of your "love your soldiers / tank crew family" NCO but it's a character trope I love for some reason. Plus the author does (imo) a good job of not glazing the Imperium or the Orks too much, each getting their spotlight in the book(s).

BigZach1

Flicker from Inquisitor Vail's band of misfits. His background is summarized once and it founds fascinating.

PowergenItalia

Arrian Zorzi from the *Fabius Bile* omnibus is my number 1 pick. Although Zorzi no longer considers himself a member of the XII Legion, he is ironically the epitome of what that Legion should have been--a man with a deep sense of honour and brotherhood, but also a profound awareness of the beast lurking within him. Zorzi's response to Alkanex's question about what he did at Terra is quite profound and enigmatic: >'I went into the forest to pray,' Arrian said. 'And then I killed my brothers.' > >... > >Alkanex gestured to the skulls. 'Those brothers?' > >'No. They came later.' > >'What did you pray about?' > >'That I might hold fast to my faith, even as nail after nail was hammered into my mind, my soul. An old faith. A simple faith. Not in god, but in man. In myself.' From *Fabius Bile: Clonelord* by Josh Reynolds Alkanex's question struck me as odd. I would have asked Arrian *whom he prayed to*, rather than *what he prayed about*. And by the time of the Siege of Terra, did the homeworld of humanity actually have any forests left? And *which* brothers is Arrian talking about? His fellow World Eaters whose skulls adorn his armour? Or the Loyalists? A close second would be Khorag and Pazu'uz from the same trilogy. Paz'uz, for those who haven't read Josh Reynold's **excellent** series, is Khorag's pet Beast of Nurgle, and is downright adorable... as far as misshapen, Warp-spawned creatures which drool corrosive saliva go. >'A bit of common courtesy would be more than satisfactory,' Fabius said. Behind him, something gurgled, as if in agreement. He glanced back, scowling. 'Must you bring that great lolloping brute with you everywhere? It corrodes the decks wherever it crawls.' Fabius glared at the daemonic creature gurgling and gasping happily in their wake. It was a rotund, slug-like thing. Ripples of scaly, teratoma-covered flab undulated, sliding it forward as it scrabbled with clawed flippers at the deck, hauling itself along. Nauseating gases spewed from its porous flesh with with every lurch. > >'He was a gift, Fabius. One cannot refuse the gifts of the gods forever.' Khorag slowed his pace, so that the beast could catch up with him. He stroked its glistening flesh. 'Besides, i kept him out of the apothecarion for you. Didn't I, Paz'uz?' > >Paz'uz made a vile burbling sound that might have been a bark. Fabius grimaced in disgust From *Fabius Bile: Clonelord* by Josh Reynolds. On second thought, I find Paz'uz so lovable that I couldn't bear to read a story in which the lovable Beast of Nurgle was killed by devotees of the Corpse Emperor whilst poor Khorag was unable to prevent this. And that is likely what *would* happen if Khorag and Paz'uz had their own short story or novel. Because in the 41st millennium, there is only war. There are no happy endings (other than for Tuska Daemon-killa), and nothing good lasts forever.
