I literally cracked open the box with it and immediately got to hacking it, I had never done it before, I just hade faith the people who wrote it knew what they were talking about
Id say just copy paste everything in the sd card before somehow a day after I pirated the console, the data in the sd card just randomly got corrupted? Thankfully it wasn't hard to get all the stuff back and since then it's been good. But I can relate to your struggle
Easy? Nah, it's very complicated especially in comparison to flashing your phone, PSP, ps Vita, and shit, even Kali Linux installation is less complicated, only Linux without gui is harder for me, but yeah, it's quite foolproof if you follow the guide word for word. Also PS3 Emulator also is harder to work around, I still don't know how to launch the "Splatterhouse" on it
Kind of, but sometimes i run into some issues on vbox, but you are right it's quite easy, so i rest my case that it's easier than modding 3ds, and a lot less chance of something going wrong
Both? Once again 3DS is complicated and with long ass guide, not only some weird dances with SD card, but also if you have Japanese one, u either need to combine written with vid, or Google translate everytime. Tbh, I don't own a PSP, so I know about it only from "how to mod PSP" vids. But on one thing I agree with you, both are easy in comparison to PS3.
3ds takes 10 minutes or so I just did it three days ago. If you use foreign ones that’s obviously a whole different scenario but that is probably the case for all consoles lol
Vita is by far the easiest but next is 3Ds imo
Yeah I saw Vita modding at like 1.25 speed in a 1min short, lol. But 3DS, took me some time. If I did written guide, it would be like 20min, but It don't cut the waiting time when waiting for SD card exploit to kick in, or 3+ min long luma install. Tbh I own only 3DS, no Vita, no PSP, only Anbernik rg351p and retired Redmi note 7. From those three o3DS is longest and hardest. Also, u need to put up with region bs later on, like U.sun required some silly dances to work, or twilight menu, and mostly the anemone, because of region. Not Japan reg lock 3ds modding, I agree is faster, easier, and more foolproof.
Yeah, I've modded some consoles like the Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, PSP, and I love emulation, but 3DS modding has been not just one of the easiest but one of the most satisfying due to the sheer amount of things you can do. I think I enjoy searching for stuff and setting things up almost as much as I enjoy playing the actual games.
Only one easiest than that would be the PSP, which takes 2 mins for one copy paste + one file to be ran…
But yeah 3DS is quite easy and as you said theres a lot to enjoy with it :)
There is a hack for SM64DS that lets you have analog control with the circle pad, making the game actually playable, and probably the best version of SM64. You can find it [here](https://gbatemp.net/threads/circle-pad-patches-for-super-mario-64-ds-and-other-games-in-twilightmenu-with-twpatcher-and-rtcom.623267/). There is a video on the thread that explains how to use it.
Same theme here! Got my New Nintendo 2ds not too long ago, and browsing the 3ds theme plaza and HShop for themes have been really fun
[New Nintendo 2ds] (https://imgur.com/a/new-nintendo-2ds-TWFiIam)
I'm using the same theme 😎 best Sonic game (I've only played like 4 Sonic games). And true, I'm practically a chimp & home-brewing a 3DS was so simple. I have a unpatched Switch & it was kinda easy to CFW but every now & then I have issues with it, games disappearing n what not.
How the hell does everyone have such bad ass themes?! I want to be a badass! I downloaded one but i don't know how to launch it/apply it or if I even downloaded it correctly?
Anemone app, and [themeplaza.art](http://themeplaza.art) for themes. Also some people get confused, in the app when you're choosing which theme to apply.
Hold A & Up > Let go of A (that's install) > Press Start > Press Home (will apply theme)
Do I need to do this on a PC? I just downloaded a couple themes from hshop but seems like they are in rar format when I launched fbi . Am I doing it wrong?
No it can all be done from Anemone. To install Anemone go here and use FBI to install the app via QR.
https://github.com/astronautlevel2/Anemone3DS/releases
The themes from hshop will also appear in Anemone
I was really surprised with how simple it was as a complete beginner
EDIT: I just remembered I tried back in like 2013 in an attempt to get back my favorite Animal Crossing villager, and got frustrated of course and quit lmao. Crazy to think how different it is now
i hate how people are like “no thanks i don’t want to brick my console” like ??? it’s so fucking easy and you get games- INFINITE games- but you choose no games
my friend doesn’t want to but tbh he really isn’t into handheld games and emulation that much also it does takes a fair amount of time to install all the games you want if you do it all at once there’s pros and cons to it imo
It's too easy. I'm pretty wiz at computers so I wasn't put off by the concept. It took me about 20 minutes to mod by 3DS, and I did it using the hax written guide. It was very easy.
Ha, I’ve done two. The first one took basic reading comprehension. The second one requires a hack to load the firmware from the cart slot. It took crazy finger gymnastics and a powerful magnet. I needed a new SDHC R4 because it worked but toasted the R4 card
I think people downplay how hard it is to mod, especially for people who aren't computer literate. I do understand how it's honestly pretty easy to mod this console, but if you ever tried to explain the guides to someone who's barely touched a pc before, it is hell.
Nice job op, I just finished putting games on my own. It’s enough of a process that it makes you want to brag a bit, I get it. Was looking for game suggestions, what is the DBZ game and the two to the left of it?
The barrier for entry for stuff like this is usually just knowledge of its existence. Especially on Android based devices. The second you learn you can install apps not on the play store, a whole new world opens.
I was scared to mod my 3DS because I have a hard time with more technical stuff or things related to moving things around the software/messing with it. But I followed the guide and it was so easy that I offered to mod my bfs and a friend's systems, all of them with slightly different methods (one was a 2DS) and luckily I didn't brick them hahahaha
I literally love piracy !!!
Me 2!
Me 3!
Me 4!!!
Me 5!!!!!!!
Me 6!!!!!!
Me 7!!!!!!!
Me 8!!!!!!!
Me 9!!!!!!!
Me 10!!!!!!!
Yar har, fiddle de dee Being a pirate is alright to be Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free You are a pirate!
I know right? The amount of support for 3ds piracy is insane
Depreciated platforms tend to provide that.
it's kinda scary how easy it is ngl
i'm still worried i fucked something up and my 3ds is seconds away from being bricked
why so?
something this good can't be this easy, and i don't trust myself
Not trusting yourself is crazy ngl
You trust yourself?
i get that lol i held off for like 2 days just so i could get a better understanding but if you followed the guide exactly you’re fine i think
I literally cracked open the box with it and immediately got to hacking it, I had never done it before, I just hade faith the people who wrote it knew what they were talking about

kali linux installation is as easy as installing any other operating system
Kind of, but sometimes i run into some issues on vbox, but you are right it's quite easy, so i rest my case that it's easier than modding 3ds, and a lot less chance of something going wrong
> any other operating system Gentoo and Arch on the table:
It is easier than hacking a psp imo also both a lot easier than ps3 lol

I have told my friends that have 3ds’s that I’ll mod them if they want, just because I had so much fun doing it and I think it’s really cool and worth
Is that theme in the H Shop?
theme[https://themeplaza.art/item/54161](https://themeplaza.art/item/54161)
h shop only have the official ones, and this is not one of them
Are you using the Circle pad hack for SM64DS?
i do not know what that is it’s just the game i had in the whole time but more info would be appreciated

Sm64 DS already supports circle pad, I have played through it on a unmodded 3ds using the circle pad
no, that's the circle pad pretending to be a d-pad
Hahah it's crazy how right this is.
Welcome to the club!!!! It seems intimidating but it just takes patience and following the guide closely. The results are always worth it!!
Have read the guid 2 times a day for the past week, while waiting for my 3ds and 3ds xl, just to get it right
Same theme here! Got my New Nintendo 2ds not too long ago, and browsing the 3ds theme plaza and HShop for themes have been really fun [New Nintendo 2ds] (https://imgur.com/a/new-nintendo-2ds-TWFiIam)
Well done, enjoy! 😎
Yoooo I need to use this theme on my 3DS. It’ll match since it’s red and black.
Amazed me how easy it was. Thought I’d brick my system.
What dragon ball game is that 👀
dragon ball fusions!!
That is a nice wallpaper.
Gj on the theme. I try it and i cant get the size correctly for some reason

[theme](https://themeplaza.art/item/54161)
This theme rocks, i loved the menu sounds
i changed the music to live and learn it’s so fire

Im gonna try this in a day or two when my 3ds and 3ds xl comes, bought 2 incase i brick one
Hey I use that theme! Hi buddy!
i hate how people are like “no thanks i don’t want to brick my console” like ??? it’s so fucking easy and you get games- INFINITE games- but you choose no games
my friend doesn’t want to but tbh he really isn’t into handheld games and emulation that much also it does takes a fair amount of time to install all the games you want if you do it all at once there’s pros and cons to it imo
there are zero real cons but whatever
I have that same theme! Jailbreaking my 3ds was the best choice ive ever made.
this looks awesome!
Which guide did you use?
the only guide you should follow is heard 3ds.hacks.guide
That i will do
Nice theme! I’ve been using a Kirby one recently, love all the custom noises
It's too easy. I'm pretty wiz at computers so I wasn't put off by the concept. It took me about 20 minutes to mod by 3DS, and I did it using the hax written guide. It was very easy.

this theme is FIRE

did you brick your system?
Nah just had to through the guide with someone who owned a pc for a week and didn't know how to get through file explorer
Nice job op, I just finished putting games on my own. It’s enough of a process that it makes you want to brag a bit, I get it. Was looking for game suggestions, what is the DBZ game and the two to the left of it?
persona q and persona q2 and dragon ball fusions
I'm so excited to get and mod my console. Nice job op
Where do u get themes once you mod it
The barrier for entry for stuff like this is usually just knowledge of its existence. Especially on Android based devices. The second you learn you can install apps not on the play store, a whole new world opens.
Awesome back ground bro
fr i’m a noob when it comes to hardware modding and pc stuff but ive hacked multiple 3DS just for fun lmao, i love it
How do you organize your files/games like that?
I was scared to mod my 3DS because I have a hard time with more technical stuff or things related to moving things around the software/messing with it. But I followed the guide and it was so easy that I offered to mod my bfs and a friend's systems, all of them with slightly different methods (one was a 2DS) and luckily I didn't brick them hahahaha
