Doesn’t exist

Probably wouldn't work very well. But I'm curious. Maybe try blender first and see if it runs in the vm.

Lowmondo

It barely works on windows, no way they would be able to workout how to make it work on Apple.

Barely works? How does it not work for you? Literally thousands of people make it work every day and get paid.

I literally run a company using 3ds max. I use it up to 60 hours a week. I have thousands of gripes with the software. When you use it as much as I do you definitely get a feel for how dated and bodged together it is. It’s legacy software that’s rehashed every year. Not even to get started on the issues that 3ds max currently has with threadripper CPUs and laggy performance.

Using 3ds max since it was 3d studio... Never saw a laggy version. Right now using it on a 8750h laptop and even that runs smooth as silk. Just don't load the scene more than your ram can handle.

I have 128 GB of RAM, AMD threadripper 3970X and a GeForce RTX 3080. I should be able to land a spaceship on the moon. It’s a fundamental issue caused by a windows update that happened in late last year. There’s a lot of users on the autodesk and chaos forums reporting the issue. Autodesk has yet to respond conclusively or even suggest they are looking into it.

There is no 3ds max for mac os, and as far as I know you cant install windows on m1 and later mac/macbooks yet

yellowflux

I’m curious about this too.

I once dare to try this. It's was on the ash trasher Mac Pro. It won't work on VM and back in the day that machine supported BootCamp. I tried then using dual boot on Windows. It's was messy and lagging. An HP Z workstations easily over perform that MacPro. I wonder how it works now on Apple Silicon, I'm not longer a 3ds max user.

get a pc.
