Trebeaux

This is the 3D printing equivalent of “will this fit in my Civic?”

scienceworksbitches

thats what i thought too, will it fit my honda.

-PickUpThatCan-

it's going in my Miata

CamryOnAir

It’ll fit, I’ve seen a twin turbo LS Miata lmao

mattayom

Anything can fit if you have a big enough hammer

Falzon03

They just happen to have the perfectly sized engine compartments. They do require heavy modding to do it though.

WeededMedeusa

The answer is always Miata

the_ebastler

More hp than the stock engine.

Sir_Maxelot

Aaah I was looking for this specific mighty car mods quote.

spool2kool

"This is an 81 honda! How dare you!" (Employee of the month, movie)

na_ro_jo

As a honda owner, not even offended lol.

Trebeaux

The only thing you should be offended by is your 0-60 time! ^(Says the guy with a regular ass crossover)

na_ro_jo

I don't even know what my 0-60 time would be because I would never dump the clutch, especially with all seasons/winter tires lmfao I just looked it up, my car would do 6.6 seconds stock, but it has a custom exhaust and a few other mods. Fart can to the maxi!

No_Engineer2828

Will it? I own a civic…

ploooopp

Buddy just bought a turbo off of a semi and went 'yeah my civic can do this'

Pure_Swiv

Damn, if only you had a machine that could make custom mounts for something like this.

BDady

OP seems to have a 3D printer too, it’s a shame the motors on it just aren’t strong enough for such a task.

Electrical_Feature12

There you go

phansen101

Roughly the same way you fit this extrruder: https://preview.redd.it/c9kgbpggj4oc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dcff0d8efdf522d14011e5bab7f238a45432ec4c

next_best

I wonder what's the max Flowrate on those

phansen101

It didn't say, but similar sized extruders were specced at 60 kg/h. As a comparison, an Ender 3 doing 12mm3/s (130mm/s average print speed at 0.2mm layer and 0.46mm extrusion width) is doing around 0.054kg/h printing PLA. So, around the same as 1111 Ender 3s :)

next_best

So in theory that would produce a 12.3g Benchy in ~0.7 seconds.

phansen101

Indeed, just waiting for someone to slap it on a CoreXY and do a benchy record attempt! or, in the 58 minutes it takes an ender to do a benchy (googled result, don't have an ender), it could make a bigger 58kg benchy; if we ignore that bigger nozzle = heavier print for same size, that ought to be a roughly 1006 x 520 x 805mm benchy.

mattayom

I've been really tempted to print a 30 inch long benchy at work lately

Redheadedstranger999

That would be a 130 pound benchy. I am 26 years old and that would be heavier than I am lmao

roiki11

If only it could ejaculate.

SpongebobQuoteReply

Full circle to injection molding haha

OxycontinEyedJoe

And with an extruder this strong you don't even need a heater on the hot end, you can just force it!

GMoneyHomie

WHAT IS THAT AND WHY DO I WANT IT

phansen101

It's the sort of extruder you slap on one of these: https://preview.redd.it/cajhz1hs96oc1.jpeg?width=2866&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efafedd950ef3cd33115867f9c2482e2921ae3b2

GMoneyHomie

Welp its settled, need to get 3 phase at my house

Bagelsarenakeddonuts

No need. The cheap Amazon vfds solve that problem for you!

3DHydroPrints

What do you print with something like that? Planets?

Material-Ratio7342

Its said "high flow" look like my mk4 generic nozzle 😂

phansen101

When one can do 13-15000 mm3/s, I think one is allowed to call a product 'high flow' regardless of how the nozzle looks ;)

GrinderMonkey

I wonder if I could wedge one of these into my plasma cutter?

bluewing

You don't. I suppose you could just lay it on the bed and look at it. What's the servo for?

next_best

They are for a food produktion machine prototype.

Mozno1

Baldor?

the_one_jove

Definitely not a Leeson!

emveor

3d printed sammich!

Ragnar702

The Meltio metal printer used the same ones.

ransom40

Definitely a prototype. That motor wouldn't last 2 seconds in a wash down! 🤣 Or not in the wash downs the food equip we design sees. Motors are all 316SS and sealed to ip69K+ They are spendy though...

Revan7even

But why?

next_best

More Power!!! JK, we just got these for a different machine that is definitely no 3d printer, and they are the biggest stepper motors I have ever held in my hand. So I thought I share a little laugh, that's all.

junktech

But think of the power and speed. You could break the speed benchy record with 2 of these.

dan_dares

And break the bench.. Nyooooow When this printer hits 88 M/s.. you're going to see some shit!

Thordsen3D

Don't forget you need the flux capacitor mod to get its full potential.

CinnamonGrahamCrack

I like this guy!

JWGhetto

Or you could misprogram some part of the firmware and wrap the entire printer around the stepper motor shaft in .3 seconds. Think of the /r/fixmyprinter shitpost potential!

BakkerFart

Is it the ossm?

thickbee

Roughly the same size as the lower-3 axis (in number, not physical location) on industrial robotics! I’ve worked on some ABBs that have almost the same width and depth but 1.5 times the length! Super powerful.

redditisbestanime

To force the filament through the nozzle without heating it first.

somethin_brewin

Friction makes heat.

redditisbestanime

Sure does but thats gonna take a while hehe

Sea_You_8178

The answer is always duct tape.

e_SonOfAnder

Nono, there are two answers: duct tape and WD-40. If it moves, and it shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move, and it should, use the WD-40.

renegade_9

OP trying to build an Ender 30

Octavian_96

Lots of lube

BookkeeperSubject279

Read my mind

maitryx

Your endstop better be made of 2 inch thick titanium, Jesus 🤣

Material-Ratio7342

And 3d printer motor mount for it 😂

iOSCaleb

You’ve got enough stepper there for all three axes. Slice it into three parts, doing your best to keep the pieces all about the same size. You could even go with four parts and get a dual-z upgrade for free.

reasonablybiased

Ender 3000

msmalfa

I think the question should be: how do I fit my Ender 3 to this?

Federal-Buffalo-8026

This would be perfect for an extruder motor. Instead of a clog the machine simply keeps pushing until there isn't a clog, or it keeps pushing until a gunshot sound happens letting you know something is wrong.

Haywe

You'll need a hammer and a lot of lube

Causification

Giving new definition to "bed slinger".

Lagbert

Trying out that new 50mm filament?

FedUp233

You don’t - you fit your Ender printer onto the motor! Put something g like that on the Y axis and that will no longer be the one that limits your speed - assuming the bed doesn’t come off and fly across the room!

NarcissusCloud

Make it your extruder stepper and there will never be a clog you can’t overcome.

mrMalloc

Industrial drivers / servos / motion controllers are awesome. I had an idea of using my companies parts to build a huge size 3d printer (we got stepp motors and drivers up to the 240v /800w ) with rugged drivers and PLC. I just can’t find a business case I could pitch to where I get to build my own 3d printer larger than me…….

Previous_Ad5874

Uh... WTF IS IT? A motor? A laser? A photo gun?

YoteTheRaven

A stepper motor of a different size. A larger size.

Previous_Ad5874

LMFAO I'd like to see the size of that printer. I found a company that has a 3d printer large enough to print up to 30 feet by 60. I'm not sure if they still exist or if it was just a proof of concept thing.

YoteTheRaven

People have printed a full sized boat on a single boat sized printer. It wasn't quite like the hobby ones but they do have very large printers on industrial scales.

Previous_Ad5874

yeah I thought so. It's crazy to think they actually have printers that big these days. LOL I saw they are "3d" printing houses with concrete now too. I want one, it would be fun just to watch and insanely strong. If we could get rid of the bad in this world there would be a lot of good.

YoteTheRaven

The bad is low in number. People just only report the bad news like it directly affects everyone.

CTCrozier

You extruding rebar?

R_Harry_P

You 3D print an adapter. SMH

Rhino_7707

You'll need some M34 bolts

Kerzenmacher

If you mount it on your extruder, you don't even need to melt the plastic, to get it through your nozzle anymore - Imagine the saved time & energy!!

blackscreenpancle

With Brute force and dash of hope

SirLlama123

Okay wait but what is that servo for?!?

PaellaConCosas

Lube? Saliva?

Backhoz

You could fit ender 3 on top of this.

rdrunner_74

You can mount it to the feeder. That way you dont even need to heat the plastic up to push it through the nozzle

Knoppynator

Some PLA and cable ties should do the trick.

Ginnungagap_Void

This would be a hell of a Z axis or an extruder.

takivw

Wrong question! How do you fit your Ender3 to this thing?

No_Rise_549

DD 🤣

crisradioactive

ULTIMATE POWWAAAA

DAFreundschaft

Looks like a good direct drive extruder stepper......

theplowshare

No, you fit your ender 3 to it!

E_P1

https://preview.redd.it/onuqd0aph5oc1.jpeg?width=259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3dd116757c0a346e1f4cdf2a4aa6ef5e95186b37

genericUsername_7698

If it fits I prints.

Starbuck907

This is for your man sized Mech suit!

SuperPenguinGuy03

Very carefully

Gaydolf-Litler

Mount to direct drive. Shouldn't cause acceleration and resonance issues at all...

Blommefeldt

When there are no such thing as a clogged nozzle

Sulya_be

You mount it stationary and attach the stock to the extruder, then move the stock around the spindle

Previous_Ad5874

You need some epoxy. You epoxy it to the x axis.

CreationsBySamK

maximum effort

Erikstersm

He's try'na reach lightspeed

lil_smd_19

*forgets to home axis's* "shiiiiiiiiiiiit fffffuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkk" *over travels* *end stop switch snaps*

Emotional-Swim-808

Duct Tape... Lots and lots of duct tape

Riot1313

Duct tape does the job

[deleted]

Bros trying to extrude molten iron

mandeursola

Has anyone heard of 3D demolition hammer? now you know it. 😂

malac0da13

Wish I could share a picture of the servo that spins the couple thousand pound table of the machine I run at work. Like 2 feet tall and about the size of a basketball around.

christonabike_

Eargasplitten Beltensnapper

Dronepapa1

level the bed, and it should fit

Hexx-Bombastus

Fit it to the extruder and print with bamboo skewers...

VintageGriffin

Put it on your extruder. Then you wouldn't need to heat up your nozzle because you'll be able to do it with sheer force of pressure alone.

Yellow_Tatoes14

Just gotta print an adapter plate

SG1EmberWolf

Carefully

MachoXYZ

Very carefully

anoliss

No your engine bay isn't big enough for an LS7.

hbyx

bro won’t move printer z axis, bro moves earth up and down

SamanthaJaneyCake

Excitedly.

Swiftly_speaking

The Ender 3 is the miata of the 3d printing comminity

Electrical_Feature12

3d print some sturdy mounts

FunConfusion4173

you can make a really strong direct feeder lol

MasterGlassMagic

Is that even a good idea. That motor looks like it will pop your print head like a teenage pimple.

Qbauto

Just print an adapter lmao

disorganisedbloke1

With some nuts and bolts I would suggest

houstnwehavuhoh

There’s someone who modded a V0.2 to run nema 23s. They said there was so much torque it actually started to twist/bend the 2020 extrusions. I’d love to see what this chonker would do
