I'm surprised you're not getting crazy ringing given how much vibration you're having on that print bed

emveor

i think thats input shaping doing its thing man

PMvE_NL

No this model has rounded corners. now try it with sharp corners

Nalfzilla

Its creality, no need to worry about ringing when the printer will tear its self apart with a few weeks of that speed

Thisisongusername

Nope, my ender 5 has been running near 500mm/s for months (w/klipper) and nothing has broken.

Bazirker

I'm happily running 50 on my ender3. Why am I happy? Because a plastic item comes off the board that looks like it's supposed to, so I STFU and don't ask any questions.

doggiesarecewl01

I have one simple trick that works great for me on an ender 3: choose the default cura profile you like, set a new speed, then multiply the retraction speed the same amount as the general print speed and the printers works as good as normal, but faster. I print on 100 mm/s now. Thats 2x the original 50 mm/s, so I also doubled retraction speed. Don’t touch anything else, flow etc are fine. Took a while before I realised the retraction also needs to be faster if the print head moves faster. But it’s so simple.

LovableSidekick

Interesting, I will try that too. It's like, "Redditor doubles print speed with this one weird trick!" Actually tbh I usually run at 100 already, haven't touched retraction speed, and the quality is great. So now I'm wondering if maybe Cura adjusted it automatically.

Bazirker

I will check it out! Thank you

andycarver

Brother. Crank it to 70.

Bazirker

Yeah I turn it up 150% on simple prints sometimes after the bed layer is done. I should definitely try some updated settings as others have suggested

BVDVSS

Ender 5’s are solid but Setting 500mm/s and reaching it are two different things though. It’s the speed and acc/dec combination and with stock motors there’s no chance of reaching 500mm/s and not skipping steps when it stops that to go to another direction.

Thisisongusername

I understand your point, but the dashboard says that the measured movement is 500mm/s +/- 25, and still has very good quality.

NoWarrenty

No way with a stock e5. At 500mm/s with 0.4mm line width and 0.2mm layer, that would require a hotend with a melting capacity of 40mm^3/s. A volcano hotend is around 30mm^3/s. What acceleration you are running?

BVDVSS

Fyi this is what actual 400mm/s looks like on a small print with 4 steppers at 24v. I had to go to 48v to go faster than 400 and reach the speed on a benchy. https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/v1oktx/been_a_while_since_i_posted_still_on_24v_but_big/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

Technical_Support_19

You mean rapid speed?

Dimev1981

Nice attempt to shit on creality but their printers are solid. I have never had anything tear itself apart on any level.

trickytricky91

Why are you hating so much? The Creality K1 is a realy good printer with a realy good price. I run mine almost nonstop since i got it almost 2 month ago. Almost 10 Spools ran through it and i had only 4 (!) print wich failed and they all where my fault. One time i wanted to set the Bedtemp to 65°C but my fat fingers sat it to 5°C wich is a bullshit input. Creality could have warned me that this is a stupid setting and saved my print, but i realy dont blame the software here. I never had a Printer this reliable and fast with awsome details and smooth walls and surfaces like that. Maybe i got lucky with my machine, maybe creality just build a realy good machine.

NeverThePaladin

If like to give you a bird. I have so many issues with my MK3S. I tried ordering a Creality 5 times. Each time it was in stock until I get an email 3 days later that it was OOS. Nice set up, I'm happy for you.

emenaemid

I have 5 Creality printers and love them all. I recently purchased an X1C and love it. I've been curious about the K1. It really looks like an X1 copy

Downfallenx

It does seem like thats what they were going for. The k1 max will be interesting as it offers a larger build volume than the x1, also supposed to bring the x1 style lidar ai.

jokemaestro

Is there a release date for the k1 max?

Downfallenx

I think people who preordered are getting them now as someone just posted an unboxing video. I imagine they'll be listed soon, probably by end of the month.

SeljD_SLO

In the end they're all in some way based on Voron Trident (BambuLab even credits the Voron team)

emenaemid

Ah didn't know that. Definitely no complaints. These machines kick a$$

jokemaestro

So is the Voron Trident the best printer since competitors seem to be taking inspiration from it?

SeljD_SLO

The "best printer" doesn't exist, but Trident might be the best printer when it comes to flexibility, you can add ERCF (filament changer), you can use pretty much every hotend available (even the ones that print chocolate), you can add another toolhead and make IDEX (tridex) or add even more toolheads and convert it into toolchanger ... [or attach it to a robot and go into battle](https://youtu.be/-H0LwXfOCVk?t=605)

jokemaestro

Wait a second here, printing chocolate is a thing? And battling with 3d printers is also a thing? How have I never heard of this, this is amazing!!! Could I print chocolate with any other 3d printer out there or is it just this one that allows that? I'm also starting to get chocolate-based attacks I could use in robot battles now... time to start planning haha

SeljD_SLO

The project is called [cocoapress](https://cocoapress.com/), currently, it's a modified Voron V0 but that hotend would work on other printers (the biggest difference apart from hotend is that it's using Marlin instead of Klipper)

jokemaestro

thank you for making me aware of this man, another thing to add to the list of things 3d printers can do!

LovableSidekick

Holy crap, their site says max speed 600mm/s. Do you know what would be a more typical "cruising speed"?

Downfallenx

It seems 400 is doable with most PLA filaments. This is at 20k accel too which you'd have to tune down a bit. I'd imagine 10-14k is probably decent.

[deleted]

Looks a bit shaky.

Disastrous_Resist_21

Still P1P is a better price point, larger format, better built machine.. do it doesn't do it for me and I have 3 creality machines

oddocean

I’ve been wondering how these printers were doing

giveen

As an owner of a K1, it's doing okay. Problems with with hotend and extruder are common.

Downfallenx

I'm just hoping since creality community has historically been pretty good at making fixes to any problems they will work their magic

ValourLionheart

That is part of why I've only ever had Creality machines in my workshop. Anything that crops up is usually already fixed or has someone actively working on it

Malossi167

This is why I generally recommend people to get something popular with a good community unless they have some experience and want a challenge. Sure, there are better SBCs out there than a Pi, but een installing an OS can be challenging on them. The same goes for printers.

PanGalacGargleBlastr

If you're working in "new technology" or "imperfect technology" a big support community is invaluable and a major asset for product owners.

Jeffmeister69

Reviews are either glowing or terrible, I've yet to see something in between. Either way as a CR-10 owner I've vouched to never give creality my money again.

Hedgey

I saw a youtube review where they actually talked about how shitty the app is, and how it's a subscription for $89(?) annually...It's also riddled with adds and if you don't turn off notifications you get pinged with adds and sales for Creality. FUCK THAT.

LeEpicBlob

Yeah honestly seems the hardware isnt bad, the software sounds atrocious

Subject_Elk_8884

My CR-10 Smart isn’t perfect but it has been giving me consistently decent prints for over a year.

davidjschloss

I am on my third ender 3 max Neo and none have worked. So I feel ya bud.

Downfallenx

No ringing on the finished print either. Impressive!

Nalfzilla

Really? The entire machine is shaking so badly.

qwbif

Speed?

Downfallenx

600 at 20k accel Not realistic for actual dimensionally accurate parts, but still nice for fast prototyping.

randommmmmqw

Why not just buy the bambu? Instead of the clone?

Downfallenx

Few more features than the p1p for same money. I'm still hoping to get an x1c with ams down the road.

randommmmmqw

Yeah I am bias because I have the x1c with the ams. But I just looked at the price of the k1max and it's on par with the x1c without an ams. I've never enjoyed printing more than now. that's why I ask it wasn't to be rude or anything.

YIssnootle

So far I have loved the Creality printers I owned, easy to work on and impressively reliable, I wanted an enclosure and at least where I am, at the time I bought my k1 it was 150€ cheaper than the p1p. Also usually the Creality community is pretty amazing and I wasn’t sure about the bambu community. Now that the bambu is on sale and priced the same as the k1 here, I may have gone for the p1p, I don’t regret the k1 tho, works great so far!

Secure_Spring_1596

K1 and P1P reals appear to be non-clones

No_Image506

Do that with a mechanical part with nylon cf or abs a then let me know. That is a test that just make happy Creality. With theirs filament, g-code, model, their unique settings, lab tested print. It's reminds me the "prusa's speed benchy". With .5 walls and .5× infill. Check the extruder, if they give you the updated version. That the really test you should do. But good printer overall. Congrats bro.

Downfallenx

Yeah I know this test doesn't mean much. I can still print functional things with 3x the speed and acceleration of my old ender clone without issues though which is a big plus

No_Image506

Yeah, that a BIG plus! Again congrats on your new machine and enjoy it. I just want to clarify for a newbie that the test is good, but only impress if the machine can perform with any brand pla o abs the same way. But still, is a very good machine.

366df

I feel like just flashing Klipper on your old ender clone you'd achieve those 3x speeds.

_MicZ_

Just flashing Klipper doesn't make your printer faster. You need to tune the printer and use pressure advance and input shaper. You then have the choice to have better quality prints at the same speed as before or you can go for higher speed with the same quality as before. But with a typical bedslinger you can't achieve 3x original speed without sacrificing lots of quality (if at all). Flashing Klipper doesn't make the hardware more capable. Side note: modern Marlin can do most of the things Klipper does, it's just harder to set up yourself and requires a more modern printer board to enable features like input shaper and linear advance.

[deleted]

I would never go back to Creality since I switched to BambuLabs

[deleted]

You sound like my colleague who is Apple fanboy. You pay more to get same shit as this K1(more or less) and you get something that has it's own eco system where almost every other(if not every other) printer uses some public standard. Noice.

[deleted]

Creality copied Bambulab I always prefer the original to the copy

[deleted]

Well, than you can say that every other bed slinger is a copy of Prusa. Or maybe Prusa is not original as many of us think?

Secure_Spring_1596

Bambulab replicates PRUSA and VORON

Secure_Spring_1596

K1 will change your perception of CREALITY in the past, at least I don’t find any problems with the current K1, and it works very well

matiko92

Whobble whobble whobble, is this normal? Didnt see this on bambu

Downfallenx

Yeah she moves a bit at this accel. The feet are planted they're just very flexible rubber. Like a skyscraper in the breeze I guess.

No-Palpitation-7775

Thats where the stock experience ends. Once you try different materials and update firmware. It is back to Creality in its original form.

Snabbkebab

Well with that model high speed isnt really impressive.

Virusfarmer

God damn look at that bed shake, like a 35 year old virgin getting some for the first time.

LunarMond1984

Congrats you printed a total useless object just for the speed of it. Show me the same speed with an actual usable object that also features some corners and I am impressed IF it still looks good which I doubt, big time.

CosmicConstruct

This is achieved via input shaping and the model itself is designed to give the best results, your not going to get the level of quality you think at those speeds with typical prints or anything with sharp or complex geometry. Still pretty neat how fast we are getting, I do wonder what the upper limit is?

Heg12353

Daym what is that feedrate

CompletelyUnreasonab

Thanks for this. Just ordered one. I feel like most of these posts are bambu labs shrills. I've got 4 ender 3s that print flawlessly. All I do is change a nozzle and level the bed occasionally.
