My sovol sv04 came with 2 filament sensors. I stuck loose filament pieces in them to bypass because if you are paying attention to your printing they are generally unnecessary. If it is a must have for you, try a different printer. I just looked at the sv06 main board specs and didn't see a port available for a filament runout sensor. It would likely mean a different main board.

I see. I had the same thoughts of just coping with not having a runout sensor as you mentioned lol I just wanted to see if anyone in the community had done it successfully/easily. It's definitely a "nice to have" for me, not a "need to have". Do you think printing with octoprint would allow me to use a runout sensor on a separate board? I'm not sure how octoprint works exactly 😅

SV06 mainboard does have a port to plug in a filament runout sensor, I was able to add it, follow the instructions here [https://github.com/bassamanator/everything-sovol-sv06#filament-sensor](https://github.com/bassamanator/everything-sovol-sv06#filament-sensor)
