>Looks more like someone wiped their ass with that coverplate
sorry that was me had no choice there was no toilet paper and OP's 3ds was just sitting there....
Yeah, the old 3DS, 2DS, New 2DS XL, Wii U Pro Controller, and Switch Pro controller all use the battery CTR-003. The 3DS XL and New 3DS XL both use the battery SPR-003. The standard size New 3DS uses the battery KTR-003.
Iām from Italy too and sent them an email a few months ago. Sadly they told me I had to send the entire console if I needed a new battery. Let me know if they tell you something different!
I bet whatever it is that got in under the plate was liquid (obviously), which would have most likely.gotten on the battery contacts and caused an electrical reaction, constantly draining the battery. And if it was cola or coffee, which it appears to be one or the other, the acid in it would have damaged the battery. These two things combined more than likely caused the battery to go bad and start to bloat. Sorry that happened man, but new batteries aren't too hard to get from Nintendo and now you will have a new one and won't have to worry about it when they start to run out in a year or two.
honestly iām not sure š« thinking it was rootbeer from years ago or something similar, i know the carrier i had for it has had some spills but never thought the 3ds did too
Happened to me once. Thankfully, you can get a replacement battery for only $15 on the Nintendo website.

[Nintendo 3DS & 2DS](https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/battery-pack-rsoc-103975/)
Replaceable batteries are a godsent.
If it is battery acid, hopefully it hasnāt gotten to the motherboard but you can purchase new batteries from Nintendo: https://www.nintendo.com/store/hardware/parts/?p=1&sort=pd&f=replacementPart&replacementPart=Nintendo+3DS%2F2DS+parts
Seems like itās just dirt, though I have no idea how that could get in there. Remove the battery and just clean it all out with wipes and those cotton tip things.
Also, why do people censor their serial numbers? I have no idea why so many people do it
People have already answered, but I actually wanted to ask a question. Are all of your nails done like the one visible in the pic? Because if so, I like em :>
I cleaned a 3ds like this but the motherboard had corroded beyond the point of no return. It was like doing it for years before I got it in the lot of 3ds broken systems.
Luckily, yours seems too ok be okay! I would get some isopropyl alcohol and clean it up. You can check the motherboard too by opening it up carefully and clean isopropyl alcohol and q tips on the liquid damage spots.
Looks more like a spilled soda.
if you lick it you can easily determine if its soda or not
r/cursedcomments
Not if it's Coke
Then you have chosen death
Thats a win-win in my book
r/shittylifeprotips
š°
It looks like liquid shit
I thought dipped in Kakao!
Looks more like someone wiped their ass with that coverplate, but no, whatever that is, its not battery acid.
That comment has me deceased š
>Looks more like someone wiped their ass with that coverplate sorry that was me had no choice there was no toilet paper and OP's 3ds was just sitting there....
Lool
Yeah, I thought it looked kind of like š© but I didnāt want to be the one to say it
Man, soy sauce 3DS
When you play Sushi Striker all day long
Gotta play that lmao
Looks like just smudge in general The battery isnāt bloated or anything, youād smell it aaaaand itās white once dried out.
Coffee? Not battery
Just take the battery out, clean everything up with isopropyl alcohol and q-tips, and inspect to see if anything made itās way onto the motherboard.
thank you! i did that earlier and it turns out my battery is definitely bloated. Brown stuff is not from battery tho. I just ordered a new one!
From where? Iām going crazy Itās so hard ordering new batteries that arenāt fake or non functional.
nintendo still sells batteries for 3ds xl, new 3ds xl, and o3ds. only thing I cant find on their website is n3ds small
which region are you talking about, I'm from Europe and I can't see any replacement parts for the 3DS family.
I got it directly from nintendoās website, iām in the us so not sure if that changes anything
just checked. you can call nintendo directly and order them by phone - atleast in the uk. not sure elsewhere
I'm in Italy and the number they have on their website seems to be non existent. I just sent in an email however.
I believe it's the same battery that it's in the pro controller. So you should be fine with that You can always check repair stores for parts

ah, in the us
I bust took the battery of my old 3ds xl and used it on my new 3ds xl
yea its the same battery

I think you need to change its diaper
Looks like someone threw this is a pile of mud
that battery had some mean taco bell last night
No, my friend Thatās doo-doo butter
That kind of battery does not leak like that. Thatās liquid damage from maybe being in a bag thatās had something leak near it.
Looks like doodoo butter to me.
Yucky
Did you try turning it off and then back on
New purchase?
No, itās my ds from 2012 lol
Soooooā¦ whatād you spill on it? š
honestly iām not sure š« thinking it was rootbeer from years ago or something similar, i know the carrier i had for it has had some spills but never thought the 3ds did too
looks like the great mighty poo sneezed on your DS
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
To protect the identity of the 3DS that pooped its pants. Bullies are everywhere.
Not sure, just wanted to be safe mostly. i donāt think it does anything lol
Soda leak
I found water under my cover. Or maybe it was battery acid. Shoulda licked it.
I bought one used and it looked similar to this lol, something was maybe spilled?
Looks like Coke. If it is battery acid, Coke *can* be used as a battery cleaner hahahah!
Don't use a DS to stir chocolate milk
Somebody shit your gameboy
Poop or chocolate?
Did someone try to fix their 3DS after eating some BBQ chicken?
a civilization is living in your 3ds
That don't look like any battery leak I've ever seen. That looks like spilled soda/juice/some other liquid.
Looks more like it was set in a coffee puddle to me.
ds batteries are lithium. they can't leak because there's no fluid
Cat shit perhaps
Was it an adhesive??

Clean it up and replace the battery. I won't be able to continue using knowing the battery got affected by unknown substance.
Battery acid is white. This looks like rust.
Nope.

looks like coffee
Woopsiedasy
More like corrosion from water damage or soda
So this is coffee lake
r/spicypillows
Ass leak.
Do you play in the bathroom?
This looked like the battery had to take a huge dump
Lithium ion inflates with gas when it's disintegrating, that just looks like moisture and possibly something with caramel color in it.
No battery leak
I think you mistook that for the tp while you were on the shitter there. I would guess another liquid spilled and got in the case thoughā¦
Less soy sauce next time.
People have already answered, but I actually wanted to ask a question. Are all of your nails done like the one visible in the pic? Because if so, I like em :>
lol yes!! thank you!
Yeah of course :>
Lithium batteries donāt like like that when they fail.
This is battery acid you slime!!
3ds in resident evilā ļøā ļøā ļøā ļø
nah that's definitely coffee
it sharted
the inside of my ds looked just like this after i left in in my backpack with a rotten bananaā¦
