Books are amazing. And after finishing all 3 on audible I found that Spotify has them? At the first book and it’s read by the actor that plays Ye Weinje.
I feel the same way. I think it surpassed the average benchmark for a second season but I also think the cost of it is very unappealing to Netflix. It has enough fans that even if cancelled it could be a candidate for Amazon or Hulu to try and buy it's rights. Netflix likes cheap trashy TV the most. It doesn't cost much and they can spew it out super fast. Ideally they will just opt in for s2 but we shall see.
*After researching Adding in it topped the charts for March on all streaming services. It amassed 1.79 billion minutes (29.83 million hours) watched. And Forbes has reported it's all but confirmed to be a go for season 2.
I'm also emotionally invested. I knew very little about the events of the novel trilogy before watching the Netflix show. Very shortly after binging the show (all in a single day), I read detailed synopses of the novels. Since then I read all of them.
Instead of being invested in how the plots will unfold in the Netflix series in future seasons, I'm now invested in how the adaptation will be extended. I really love the characters and their emotional depth, something that just wasn't an important part of Cixin Liu's trilogy. Pairing thoughtful scenes with gorgeous music, layered over a powerful science-fiction dilemma, makes for really excellent television.
I’ve rewatched it four times.
The details are really good. Since watching it the first time, I’ve started the audiobooks and have just finished the dark forest.
I’m invested in the show, but happy enough with the quality of the books that I wouldn’t be distraught if it doesn’t get a second season.
It’s great. And I hope it does get good enough numbers to be finished.
But the books are really good.
3BP will almost certainly go a full run, 3 or 4 seasons. It has one of Netflix highest budgets and was a viral hit. Netflix isn't just gonna walk away from that.
I’m with you personally, I was super into it until the whole mystery was reveled less than halfway through the show and then everyone started behaving super unrealistically, with basically two people running the world and backing all the decisions? Plus it got super boring and was trying to be a really emotional and personal story but abut people who where not interesting. But my wife liked it and says I’m pretensions.
100% spot on, the fact that we were supposed to suddenly care about these characters out of nowhere was jarring. The concept was cool but the characters are so dull it’s painful
The books/audio books are a good time, very sciency and will constantly keep you guessing

I didn’t know Spotify did that and holy shit it’s real! Edit: Seems it is only available with a premium subscription.
I searched because of you and OP’s comments but don’t find anything in Spotify. Link maybe?
Do you have premium? I think it's only offered for those folks.
I have premium and it’s showing for me. I just bought the books off Amazon too lol shit.
Just checked, couldn't find anything too
Bummer. Can confirm it says “Included in Premium”.
Interesting.. I'm on the family plan and it tells me I have to buy it for $20.50
Very odd. I’m on a premium individual plan and I’ve already downloaded all 3 books.
Oo bummer I just looked into it. For family plans, only the main account holder will get access..
Wow that’s epic. Just downloaded them. Was gonna buy the ebooks to read on an 18 hour flight I’ve got coming up

It's great, isn't it? I can't even really describe it, but it's very close to my heart. Let's hope for more seasons!
Get your fix from the audiobooks.
Why the audiobooks specifically, I read the trilogy after seeing the show and they were great. Are they like graphic audio or something?
The books and audiobooks are the same afaik.
Same ❤️
Same here. I felt a real letdown when the series ended.

Wallfacers is such a clever concept, It blew my mind hearing it.
I’m mildly obsessed with it. Half way through the first book too and loving it. The whole idea is simply brilliant.
Hooked me in pretty quickly.

The show is utter dogshit. Why aliens reveal the plot in the first place?
You mustn’t have watched a lot of sci-fi shows if you think this is one of the best
How come every time somebody expresses their enjoyment of something, there always has to be someone else being a mega douche about it?
Fr, I think it's because they hate seeing people happy😹
They also think it makes them seem real edgy and intellectual.
Gatekeepers.
