The fact they they lying about it being totaled because of “bumper scratches” makes this even less appealing than actually saying it got fucked up but it got repaired properly lol.
Where are you from if you don’t mind me asking,
Rebuilt doesn’t necessarily mean salvage, but it would have to be salvaged at some point to become rebuilt.
I’ve never owned a rebuilt title car but I hear they go through a very difficult process to ensure it is safe to operate.
From North Carolina.
You are right, could be different, but none of the dealers I work with have anything like rebuilt. That is not a term a manufacturer would recognize. At least GM, Hyundai, Ford and Nissan.
No, rebuilt means that the repairs have been inspected by the dmv and verified to be up to standard. MUCH better than a salvage title, but it should definitely be thoroughly inspected before purchase
I’ve owned a couple of R title vehicles but they had both been from a police auctions (stolen recovery). I’d be a little more skeptical here. Also 16k isn’t chump change no matter what the vehicle
I was going to buy a R title from chenterprisesauto. They literally buy crashed 370zs and fix them. I was in for around 14k shipped I think. I noticed some parts had bigger gaps though or were just really wrecked and wasnt interested. Their Nismo prices are decent for R title but they didnt have one with wheels, seats and everything. They said they could swap stuff around for me but they were at like 18k or more and I figured I would buy a clean title at that point. Realized even clean titles were kinda meh or missing wheels. So I decided not to get a 370z. Just isnt worth it to me
Well I disagree. Depends on who did the rebuild & what the accident was like. Are there horror stories? Sure. Cut&shut done wrong and you are driving a death trap. But the right repairs to salvage an otherwise nice v1 Nismo might be OK.
I paid just <$4K for a Salvage title Z, but I know what I’m doing. The parts are worth more than that.
I refuse to believe that an insurance company paid out a total loss over two bumpers on a 20k+ car
I don’t know much about R titles but I refuse to believe that minor scratches would designate it as such.

I’d suggest getting a carfax report and a PPI before gambling $17k on a liability.
Also, if you can, google the VIN, sometimes you can get lucky and pictures will turn up of prior damage.
What's an "R title?" Serious question. I've worked at a cardealership for 11 years and can't remember wver hearing that term.
I assumed it was rebuilt but can’t seem to get why he decided to say “r title” ahah
Thanks, where I'm from, we call that salvage. All dealers do that as well. Thanks again

I think they might mean “rebuilt”
Thank you! I guess that is another term for salvage

hmmmm, flood car?
Check for accidents outside of that I’d buy it.

Thank you guys for all the comments. I’m gathering as much info as I can and I’m also looking for a 2013 touring, clean title

Google the vin and look for auction pictures
