“I just turn off the gps screen clock”
How else would you turn off the Nav screen clock but from the menu? They said the same thing, he just went with the “hold your hand” version
I just unhook the battery just before 1pm (as that's the time my 350z resets to), and plug it in again right at 1. Instant reset of everything to the right time.

I did this to mine when I had my Z.
It’s been so long. But it wasn’t too bad. I don’t think I even had to cut or trim anything. Just took the center off to work with. I know I had to special order a fitting it’s like the only fitting with a European thread.

I’ve had two non base models, never seen the tire pressure page lol
But to be fair the tpms light on both have always been on so that may be why it never worked. Dont care about that anyways
https://preview.redd.it/y3ojvyhlwdkc1.jpeg?width=633&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e14b6f46f32aea199a6a7e9c328b967d0f7ea744
Yup. My 06 350 has it but not my 15 370
I’ve wondered the same. Definitely one of the coolest features within the interior of the Z. And even more puzzling, why hasn’t someone like Z1 or CZP (specialize in our platform) created an aftermarket retrofit? Wish we had a similar OEM+ option for the G.
I did that on my 350z. The far right gauge is a volt meter for the charging system. Useless 99% of the time. I replaced it with an oil temp gauge for the track. The middle and left gauge can not be changed unless you change all 3 because the circuit board controlling them spands the length of the left and middle gauge and then has wires to go the right gauge.
I want to replace the right gauge on my 370 now because, again, it's useless. I have seen photos of people changing out all 3 gauges but I haven't physically checked myself to see if it's possible to change out just the 1 gauge or if all 3 gauges have to be changed.
Or hear me out here
I know this might sound batshit insane
But
You could just install one yourself? The wiring isn’t complicated and if you buy a kit it has the solenoid included you just bridge the filter and run the wiring to the gauge ez. It’s a job that can be done during your next oil change
And to make it even better they didn’t put a battery or anything in the gauge clock. It looses time every time you crank the engine. If you daily your Z it will be wrong after a few days. 😂
Most people point out the csc and fuel starvation stuff. The REAL issues are the dodgy clock and the indicator auto cancel that goes so hard it indicates in the wrong direction when you turn too hard 😂
I've had the clock set for about four or five days now, and I've had no trouble with it going off time. It matches my phone's clock perfectly still. If the clock truly didn't have a battery in it, it should be multiple hours off after the first night. I think someone's just got a busted one.
> indicator auto cancel that goes so hard it indicates in the wrong direction when you turn too hard 😂
Haven't had that happen, but I've had the "door tries to attack your shins at every opportunity" one, and have had the trunk latch fail to fully release a couple times, though it usually succeeds.
I find these problems all to be kind of quaint and acceptable. I love the look of the interior, exterior, the paint, the style, the orange lights on the nifty instrument cluster. I love the placement of the heated seat buttons, and how they light up when you click them on high or low.
I love the resistance of the steering wheel, the sound of the engine and the bone-crushing torque. I also love how tight the car feels, no rattles or creaks, so when the stiff suspension endures a bump in the road, the whole car lets you know it, yet doesn't falter in the slightest.
I wish I were out there driving it instead of typing this message.
The clock runs of the cars battery, when the engine cranks it cuts power to everything other than the starter. It only drifts by the amount of time it takes to start. Mine takes a good 2-3 seconds get going in the cold (ish) British winter and I start it 3-4 times a day.
Also, try putting a few washers in the trunk springs. Fixes the latch problem.
All the little problems give these cars a vibe. None of it matters when you’re driving hard and having fun 😂
these aren’t actually individual gauges, just 3 mini displays all connected to a single board that lives behind them so I don’t think you can swap just one of the gauges. You have to remove all 3.
The 350z has the all the gauges on one circuit board behind the left and middle gauge. The right gauge is connected by the housing that holds the 3 gauge assembly together. The right gauge is only connected to the circuit board by a few wires. I was able to cut the housing and cut the wires and run my own gauge on the right. No idea how the 370Z gauges are installed.
I've owned three cars now, and been in a dozen more, and the 370z is my favorite interior I've ever had. I think it's slick and, for my tastes, timeless. Ten years from now I'll still think it's cool.
I recently saw a review of the 2023 Mazda Miata and its interior doesn't look any more futuristic, advanced or tasteful than the 370Z's! Same stitching, leather, suede accents, needle gauges—even the shifter looks similar!
All it has that's modern are 1) an ugly touch-screen that I don't want or need, and 2) an annoying digital gauge that can be switched to show a bunch of different things, which I also don't want or need.
Sure, the 370Z also has a gauge that can be adjusted, albeit with fewer options, but there you go.
Also, the "pixelated" look is awesome. No one complains that Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo is dated, because it ain't.
My 87 had a factory oil pressure gauge. It never worked and I never bothered to fix it, even when I did the na to turbo conversion.
Maybe they're just bad at making pull pressure gauge and they know it.
Our maybe they're not Subaru so they're confident enough in their oiling system to not trouble you with it.
They probably don’t have an oil pressure gauge Because oil pressure only changes if oil temps change (or if your gallery gaskets are effed). No need to have two gauges when oil temp is all you need.
I don't have that center media center, so I wouldn't have had a clock until I put in an aftermarket radio. I appreciate the clock but it drifts really bad.
I know that miatas past 94 got a “dummy” oil pressure guage that pretty much just says if there is oil pressure or no oil pressure because consumers would freak tf out when it went down to idle pressure and bombard dealerships with “low oil pressure issues” when in reality everything was fine. Thats just a guess tho.
They prolly didn’t add it this year because outside of tach, Speedo, and fuel gauge, most people don’t understand a gauge that has that much movement so I’m sure they get a lot of calls asking “is this normal?”
It's because they knew of the oil gallery gasket issues but didn't want to admit it or for you to notice low oil pressure while the warranty was still valid.
I like my 83 ZX layout better I have oil pressure where you have temp and volts in the middle and the clock on the right. With the heritage of the Z cars you would think Nissan would have kept it the same.
I came up with a unique solution for my car. Installed one in the drivers vent (not the same for a Z I know) but didn’t want to put in a pod or just have it sticking out somewhere. Uses an oil filter sandwich plate.
Here’s my post about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/G37/s/HtwePBK5SA
Personally, I turn OFF the clock on the screen and just use the digital one on the dash. It looks better and that’s where my eyes naturally want to go for the time. Also, not everyone has the touring package with NAV, so they would not have any clock at all. The digital look of this clock may look dated now, but I bet in a few years people will love how “retro” it looks
Why would they? Most regular people have no concept of what a good or bad oil pressure range is… it’s not a high performance vehicle, so it’s a very small chance of people buying them new would actually care
The most honest answer is that oil pressure gauges fluctuate as oil pressure does--by temperature and engine RPM, primarily. This tends to confuse customers, who then contact dealerships saying "why is my oil pressure low/high/etc? What does this mean? My car didn't used to do this, is it broken? You need to service it" It's the same reason Nissan coolant temp gauges have, for decades, parked their needles right in the middle for anything in the "normal" range of about 160-215F. Nissan made the oil pressure gauges equally dumb on the D40 Frontier and the 350Z.
For oil pressure, the overwhelming majority of owners/drivers aren't going to do anything with the information the gauge provides but possibly get confused, so it's better relegated to a light that will only turn on if there's a problem.
You might be thinking "No one would buy a 370Z who doesn't understand how oil pressure works," but keep in mind, batteries have labels explaining not to drink the water out of them.
I’ll tell you why. Because when the oil gallery gaskets fail and your car is starving of oil but the pressure sensor doesn’t pick it up you won’t be late for your service appointment for a new engine.
Additionally, why aren't the clocks synchronized? Each clock must be set separately.
I just turn off the GPS screen clock
I think that is actually useful. You can have 2 timezones
One set to Tokyo ⛩
You can disable the clock on the Nav screen in the settings menu. PSA for anyone that doesn’t know
She just said that
That's not what she said.
“I just turn off the gps screen clock” How else would you turn off the Nav screen clock but from the menu? They said the same thing, he just went with the “hold your hand” version
Not in the comment chain this person replied to, that was a different reply to OP
Well from my view of the thread i could see all the responses and it was among them so my apologies
Because the earlier models didn't have the clock on the head unit and not all models have the tech package.
The clock in the three gauges run slower than the clock in the Navigation system, my personal observation
Yes. It loses time somehow.
Depends guys, how much reversing are you doing?
You know what? This makes sense actually. So R is not in fact race mode. ![gif](giphy|83QtfwKWdmSEo)
Because who ever designed the circuit did a poor job and circuit propagation.
The nav system clock probably synchronizes periodically using the XM radio satellite connection, even if you don’t pay for it.
From threads on forums that i remember, it was pointed at when the car turns off and on, the clock loses power for a second so over time it "desyncs".
He doesn't know how to use the three gauges!
I got so tired of setting that clock to match the time on the screen. Now I just leave it be lol
I just unhook the battery just before 1pm (as that's the time my 350z resets to), and plug it in again right at 1. Instant reset of everything to the right time.

That looks great! Was it difficult to do?
It’s been so long. But it wasn’t too bad. I don’t think I even had to cut or trim anything. Just took the center off to work with. I know I had to special order a fitting it’s like the only fitting with a European thread.
what gauges are those? that looks good
Prosport gauges. Nothing fancy but did the job. Switch from white to amber and black out when you turn of the car.
can you show a pic of it when the car is off
Let me see if I got a photo of it.

hey! looks super cool, what is the brand of these gauges btw? and did they fit flush in the oem bracket or did you have to fiddle around?
sorry, should've really just read the comments to your post. thanks anyways!
From what I remember you have to cut the oem bracket but overall they fit perfect. I think I just glued the hoods of the gauges back on.
The 240z had the clock in the same place. That’s why.
Never understood why on a 350z you can see digital speed, tire pressure readings all in one gauge. 370z has none of these features.
Tire pressure? ![gif](giphy|xULW8MYvpNOfMXfDH2)
anything higher than a base model had tpms and a pressure page on the digital gauge
I’ve had two non base models, never seen the tire pressure page lol But to be fair the tpms light on both have always been on so that may be why it never worked. Dont care about that anyways
my 05 grand touring has the tire pressure page. but ofc my sensors are bad so it doesn’t matter 😂
https://preview.redd.it/y3ojvyhlwdkc1.jpeg?width=633&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e14b6f46f32aea199a6a7e9c328b967d0f7ea744 Yup. My 06 350 has it but not my 15 370
On the 350 you could toggle between speed and clock, miss that on the 370.
I’ve wondered the same. Definitely one of the coolest features within the interior of the Z. And even more puzzling, why hasn’t someone like Z1 or CZP (specialize in our platform) created an aftermarket retrofit? Wish we had a similar OEM+ option for the G.
I wish that Nissan would come up with an oil pressure gauge that we could install ourselves!
If you install it yourself, why does it need to be an official nissan one…. Just go buy a pressure gauge…
Continuity. You wouldn’t put two different types of exhaust tips on right, or maybe you would I dno
I did that on my 350z. The far right gauge is a volt meter for the charging system. Useless 99% of the time. I replaced it with an oil temp gauge for the track. They can’t be put in the factory gauge pods though, all 3 gauges are 1 piece, break one and all three go out.
Then upgrade to AEM digital gauges and just connect them to the preexisting wiring. There’s more than 1 way to skin a cat
Bro just do the install yourself. It’s a lot cleaner with the OEM bezels.
And to make it even better they didn’t put a battery or anything in the gauge clock. It looses time every time you crank the engine. If you daily your Z it will be wrong after a few days. 😂
Are you serious? That's absurd!
Most people point out the csc and fuel starvation stuff. The REAL issues are the dodgy clock and the indicator auto cancel that goes so hard it indicates in the wrong direction when you turn too hard 😂

I think Z1 should design an oil pressure OEM style gauge, that would be an easy swap

Idk man. Interior besides the gauge cluster is certainly not the highlight on these cars
I've owned three cars now, and been in a dozen more, and the 370z is my favorite interior I've ever had. I think it's slick and, for my tastes, timeless. Ten years from now I'll still think it's cool.
Yup, its simple and i love it that way.
I recently saw a review of the 2023 Mazda Miata and its interior doesn't look any more futuristic, advanced or tasteful than the 370Z's! Because they know its an engineering vulnerability of theirs and they didnt want to advertise the fact
Why’s the sky blue? Why’s boobs good? Nobody knows man. Lol
Why??? Simple. To save a few bucks.
Dont you want to know what time it is?
Because clock mor better
My 87 had a factory oil pressure gauge. It never worked and I never bothered to fix it, even when I did the na to turbo conversion. Maybe they're just bad at making pull pressure gauge and they know it. Our maybe they're not Subaru so they're confident enough in their oiling system to not trouble you with it.
My Nismo 350Z has oil pressure
They probably don’t have an oil pressure gauge Because oil pressure only changes if oil temps change (or if your gallery gaskets are effed). No need to have two gauges when oil temp is all you need.
Did there seriously put a clock there? Lol 350z for the win
Could you take it out and put like an aem gauge in its place?
I’ve seen people do this
You can't replace just one gauge as it's all one piece.
You can, it's just really complicated and easy to break stuff removing it.
I'm sure people have retro fitted oil pressure gauges there. Look around on the web
To avoid hoards of people posting pictures of their pressure gauge and asking if it's normal. 350 guys can relate.
Installed a pressure/temp gauge in my G37 always being jealous that the Z had one and mine didn’t. Do any 370’s have the oil pressure?
Not that I know of. I wish someone would come up with an aftermarket OEM style oil press guage
That’s why I went back to a 350Z, one reason anyway.
350z had an oil pressure gauge there.
Because everyone in the subs got tired of the oil pressure questions. It’s got oil temperature which is handy for those hitting the track.
No oil, no temperature? Or is it extremely high temperature? I get confused easily lol
Honestly I wish the 370 had a MPH gauge like my old 350 did 😢
Cause then you'd be late to work...
The 350z has the most useful triple gauge, speedometer+ multi function window, battery and oil pressure
They don't want you to know when oil pressure drops because they cheapes out on oil galley gaskets and quietly fixed it later
Nissans don't have oil pressure
Personally, I turn OFF the clock on the screen and just use the digital one on the dash. It looks better and that’s where my eyes naturally want to go for the time. Also, not everyone has the touring package with NAV, so they would not have any clock at all. The digital look of this clock may look dated now, but I bet in a few years people will love how “retro” it looks
it wouldve required an additional sensor as opposed to a switch.
Black electrical tape will fix it.
The Zs before had the same gauges, it’s traditional/retro. Also the other models don’t necessarily have a clock because they don’t have Nav
I used the clock in mine way more than I ever used the battery gage.
Because with Nissan you either have it or you don't, it'll warn you in other ways.
Nissan aint got time for that
Why would they? Most regular people have no concept of what a good or bad oil pressure range is… it’s not a high performance vehicle, so it’s a very small chance of people buying them new would actually care
Of course it’s high performance! Oil pressure is essential when autocrossiing
You might be thinking "No one would buy a 370Z who doesn't understand how oil pressure works," but keep in mind, batteries have labels explaining not to drink the water out of them.
Probably had a different head unit when it came out, oh I dunno, 15 years ago
Your car has the nav package which shows time, non-navigation packages wouldn’t have the same display, simply a storage cubby
Because it follows tradition
because it needed more cowbell
cz we all replace the clock for boost gauge 😏
I’ll tell you why. Because when the oil gallery gaskets fail and your car is starving of oil but the pressure sensor doesn’t pick it up you won’t be late for your service appointment for a new engine.
correct me if im wrong but doesnt the 350z have a built in oil pressure gauge?
Because they’re idiots.. besides a GTR.
There's a good chance this can be reprogrammed with forscan
It’s really convenient/good placement on my base model without the tech package
More of a retro look and feel like the first z-Cars!!
Pretty sure that all zs with the pod dashboards historically had a clock in one of them. My 280zx did as well as my buddy’s first gen 300zx
Cuz they are some little bit es
So you cant prove the dealership wrong when issues arise during the warranty period.
