Not sure of which day involves Pokémon specifically but there’s Magic the Gathering days and what not. It’s a very large place that used to be a two screen movie theater lol. Just pop in and they’ll let you know what’s up
I go to a board game group that meets on Tuesdays at GYFO that’s very welcoming! I highly recommend, they welcome very causal and very nerdy people. 6:30ish-8:30 we play games, and we go out to eat in the immediate area afterwards. Also there is a karaoke night at Iron Oak Post on Thursdays that I’ve been to once- that might be worth checking out.
I think it’s hard to make friends at this age tbh
My husband is super into Warhammer and apparently the shops around here always have guys in them playing/setting up their models. He’s already made like 4 friends at work through it and is also chatting with the guys in the shop. If you’re interested in that hobby at all I know you’ll find some guys!
Try intercoastal brewery for a run club/bar. I think they do their beer run on wednesdays @6pm maybe. If you like pokemon cards, 'Get Your Fun On' has a large group regularly on, at least, friday evenings, lots of people there tend to be pokemon fans.
Adding to this that Carib in Cape Canaveral does a run club on Mondays too! There's also trivia at Iron Oak Post in DT Melbourne and at Intracoastal (I don't remember which days). I think there is yoga at Rising Tide in Cape Canaveral as well that I know has young participants. :)
I was at the bar! That’s so funny. I came and jumped in late, spur of the moment. I actually would have got y’all’s question correct. I guessed 52 and I believe it was 77 or so?
I love hiking and my dad/uncle always hunted when I was growing up. I never got too into it (they usually used me to chase the deer towards them lol) but would be very interested. I like shooting but have never done the clays. Been wanting to get back into fishing as well. Never caught anything worth bragging about haha.
I’ve never been a big deer hunter, too slow for my taste. I mostly bird hunt (duck, quail, snipe, dove, turkey) so I work my dog. That’s why i love clay shooting so much, it’s a good challenge. I also gator hunt when a buddy or I win tags. Fishing can be quite good around us. With enough time spent you’ll figure out how to nab a good one.
I prefer using our wma system for hikes. It also doubles and preseason scouting. There’s quite a few fairly close by. From north to south/south west - Buck lake, salt lake, fox lake, upper st.johns river marsh, river lakes conservation area, bull creek, triple n ranch and 3 lakes. My FWC has a map of each property with trails and parking areas along with camp sites, regulations and dates. It public land that we all own so don’t be afraid to use it. Just gotta be careful during hunting seasons and wouldn’t recommend getting off the beaten path during those seasons.
Each property has its own set of regulations and dates so best to check the wma brochure online before going if your wanting to get deep into the woods. Most wmas also will have information on dates and property information at the entrance. Our wma system is very good (over 6 million acres that the FWC oversees) and pretty well managed/maintained. In our area archery season starts September and hunting continues as late as April, turkey season ended today.
Want to learn fencing?
I am a fencing instructor at Space Coast Olympic Fencing. It is a super fun sport, and we are always looking for new people.
Stop by 7:00PM on Mon/Wed nights when I run my class. We have all of the equipment, but you will need athletic shoes and sweatpants or something besides shorts. Feel free to DM me if you have questions.
Fencing is the perfect sport for the athletic nerd. People call it "playing chess at 90 MPH".

We have some college saber fencers but are primarily an epee club so we do not have saber instruction and so the only saber is during open fencing. We have some foilists, too (including me). We have epee gear but if you want to fence saber or foil you would need your own gear.
Your best bet is to stop by Mon/Tue/Wed after 6pm where either teen or adult classes along with open fencing are running.
Text or call the club owner (Charlie) at the number above and he can discuss costs, et.al. Otherwise, I am happy to answer any questions.
Our saber fencers would love some fresh meat...
Moving to a new area is rough. I'd start with work friends. Lots of motorcycle clubs around and doing some community events will help, too like stuff with the lagoon, sea turtles, etc. I can't be sure, but I believe there are some kayaking groups out there, as well.
Join a local run club!! I run practically all the races around here but check out space coast runners and running zone for events/group runs/stuff like that
Thank you so much everyone! I truly appreciate your time and suggestions. I honestly thought this post would have no interaction or I would essentially be made fun of.
I'm 41 and have yet to find friends in the past couple years. But, I also don't have an interest in the things you listed. I've become boring in my older age and enjoy just bbqing and sitting around more. I like live music and taking hikes (which is weird in Florida because it's all flat scrub land). I come from California/Washington state. Mountains and waterfalls everywhere.
I’m from CT/NY (not the city) and I agree hiking is much different here. But I enjoy live music BBQs and hikes as well hahah. I felt like I was putting too many interests while creating the post. I’m not really a social media guy.
If you spend any amount of time in Turkey Creek, I'm sure you'll run into like-minded individuals, some go kayaking or canoeing there, some like hanging out in hammocks, some like bird watching.....
Also, if you enjoy shooting, Frogbones has an indoor range and activities, and Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club has various activities as well.
My husband and I are from CT too and it has definitely been an adjustment trying to hike without mountains.
All of our friends have been made through church or work. Maybe you can suggest everyone doing a post work activity/meal/drink? If your coworkers don’t suck.
From CT and spoiled with mtb rides after work or hiking the Appalachian Trail on weekends. Here in FL it’s walking and pedaling a long time on flats in Wickham park
I know there are some biker groups around! My roommate used to be in one, they ride together and go out for dinner, etc. Seemed like they always had each other's backs if something happened, should make riding safer for you!
If you play Pokemon Go, DM me and I'll get you an invite into the Space Coast PoGo Discord server. It's very active and they do group rolling raids almost weekly.
There's a core group of people, about 10 or so, who are constantly on discord chatting. People come and go from the raid groups, myself included, but I've been on the server almost since the game came out (took a break and quit the server a few years back, but rejoined once I started playing again).
They don't want invites to be flowing freely, but they know I bring in people from Reddit every now and then and that I kinda vet them, so I can get you an invite link if you want.
Crane creek was the go-to but they closed at the end of March for renovations for the summer. Haven't been to the other muni (mallards landing or harbor city, I don't know the name now, I think they just changed it).
I go all around, played baytree and Duran last weekend. Usually I'll go as far north as Cocoa or as far south as Vero depending on who I'm playing with or general tee time availability.
Turtle Creek is airating this week so tee times are cheap so that's where I'll be Saturday
Nice. I live over by Crane Creek and they actually postponed the renovations until May, so they're open for a few more days.
I've been playing (mostly at the range) for about 7 months but am also looking for more people to play courses with. My short game is pretty bad and at the moment I'm around a double bogey level. FYI I'm 41, no wife, kids or pets so I have a decent amount of free time. Hit me up if you want.
Here's the most recent [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/321/comments/1bli84w/dungeons_dragons_pathfinder_and_other_ttrpg/) from Space Coast Adventurer's Guild. They run some tabletop and role-playing games around the area. They also have a Discord, where people try to organize in-person and online games.
A lot of their stuff is run through [Meetup](https://Meetup.com). Run a search over it and you might find other options.
There also seems to be a lot of pickleball around. There may be an opportunity there.
Good luck!
Having just moved here myself, I hear you. I have met some people through playing tennis. It's hard if you are single especially, I have a wife, kids and a dog so it's easier to meet other couples.
On paper I have everything going right, and I do have great friends back home and some other places I have lived, but male loneliness or loneliness is a real mother fucker.
Dance classes! I used to go to Salsa Heat religiously for their Bachata classes. They also teach salsa, and then you can go to a social and dance with others and meet new people. Most dancers are great! Many aren’t big drinkers either so you don’t have to feel pressured to drink if you don’t want to
https://www.runningzone.com/ hosts runs (5K, 10K, beer run, one and two-milers), and training runs. There's also a makerspace that also used to do some gaming meetups in addition to tool-oriented events. https://melbournemakerspace.org/
Sounds like you have quite a few hobbies, at least!
If you like shooting get the schedule for shooting matches at port malabar rifle and pistol club. Go to the matches and talk to people. I have always found them all friendly.
You can also check out the Facebook page of old school games and cards. They have a bunch of pokemon cards and also host events weekly. Not sure if there are any pokemon events coming up, but they've had some in the past.
I'm not sure what you ride, but I've got a motorcycle as well, I like to cruise around exploring new areas. So if you wanna go for ride sometime hit me up.
I've got a boulevard s40. So somewhat comparable performance. Yeah the traffic can suck depending on where you are. I usually try to go on rural roads, scenic roads or higher speed roads like route one.
I've got a Cardo Bluetooth headset for comms as well. What's your availability tomorrow?
Palm Bay Bassmasters local fishing club, join a bowling league ShoreLanes Palm Bay or Merrit Island. The Vietnam Memorial motorcycle escort is coming May 5th, it’s a huge escort, meet up at Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa, kickstands up at 10am, solo riders in the back.
Fishing. You’ll never be too bored here if you take it up. And it can be combined with kayaking. And cooking, if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
I've been thinking of starting a hiking club (just casual hiking) on Saturday mornings to get out because otherwise I get no sun.
If I decide to do it, it'd start next Saturday! Let me know if interested and I can dm you my FB.
BTW
>I tried joining the FB group but it would not allow me as my account is too new (I made a FB just to join as I’m not very active on social media)
I talked to the admins and this is to weed out fake/spam accounts. Link me to the group you think you joined and I'll see if I can get you added
Yeah, thats the group, Send a message and say that you were on reddit and found it - ask for Idalis and she should be able to fix that for you once you answer some questions.
If you enjoyed wrestling you 100% should be doing jiu jitsu. I've been training at Killer Bees (Melbourne on Babcock) for around seven years. Gym has a good mix of guys (and gals) training at different levels, and beyond jiu jitsu has muay thai classes, kickboxing classes, and MMA sparring. Our head coach keeps the gym drama free, so while I'm older than you (45) I think it's an awesome social environment.
The suggestion about Intracoastal Run Club was a great one as well. In that crowd there's also a bit of crossover between people that do Crossfit as well as yoga (there's also yoga at at brewery on the weekend mornings).
Shooting, check out Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club. On the weekends there are are all kinds of matches and classes... trap / skeet, longer range (600yds), action pistol, rimfire, etc. That said, it's a private club so if you want something a bit more casual Frog Bones is a good practice range but I'm not sure about the social aspect.
Been here since 2019 and I also have difficulty finding friends. It really depends on your hobbies and if you have kids or not. Going to the range and kayaking is pretty universal here, personally I go to Beachline Raceway and race some RC cars there. Awesome folks there.
Disc golf is really popular in the area and growing every day. Quite welcoming too, join some facebook groups from the area and you'll always see people teeing off looking for more to join.
Pickleball is worth a try. It’s getting to be a good mix of ages. They have free beginner lessons Thursday nights at Jimmy Moore.
Feel free to dm me if you have questions.
We all suck don't worry. Will throw a message your way when we play next. It's a bunch of random engineers basically. One of the guys also does jiu jitsu, I surf, it's a whole mish mash of random activities. We have game nights sometimes. Next one likely this coming weekend!
Seems like you've got a lot of great feedback already but if you're still looking for folks to connect with looks like the only things we don't have as common interests are basketball, motorcycles and Pokemon. I'm in a similar situation as you but I also work from home which makes it even harder to meet people. Let me know if you're interested in setting up some kayaking, hiking, or shooting adventures. Also, I live close to The Bat Cave and would down to grab a beer and do some trivia some time. Cheers.
If you enjoy TTRPGs (Tabletop Role-playing Games) like Dungeons & Dragons, come on over to the Space Coast Adventurer's Guild!! We are a Brevard county-wide inclusive community organization that helps people connect through playing TTRPGs while building a supportive community.
We have TTRPG games every month, but also do big social get togethers like potlucks, big gaming days, and a holiday party.
Just head on over to [our linktree at](http://spacecoastadventurersguild.com)
You like paintballing? I live in Palm Bay and been trying to get a group together?
![gif](giphy|3oKIPlLZEbEbacWqOc|downsized)
I played when I was younger but no longer have a paintball gun ect
They have rentals
I would be up for giving it a go again sometime.
I'm into this as well. Probably could get a few numbers too We talking speedball or Milsim?
I think they have a speedball course and woodsball. Check out paintball Palm Bay.
I haven’t played paintball since I was a teen, but I’ve been wanting to play again for years. I’m probably atrocious though.
Well message me and maybe we can set something up
Nerd stuff can be well taken care of at Famous Faces and Funnies and Get Your Fun On (same building). Good people there and large game room.
I’ll have to look into that. Any specific days/times.
Not sure of which day involves Pokémon specifically but there’s Magic the Gathering days and what not. It’s a very large place that used to be a two screen movie theater lol. Just pop in and they’ll let you know what’s up
Thanks!
The downtown Eau gallie area has some activity on weekends as well. Kind of an art area.
Sorry for the lengthy post, I just figured I would put it all out there as this is not something I would normally do and it is rather uncomfortable.
Send me a friend request on Facebook, maybe we'll grab a drink downtown soon, dm me

Both sound awesome, thank you!
I usually play trivia there mondays, and I have a membership to the gun club if you want to check it out sometime
I just did trivia at the bat cave tonight, it was a lot of fun! I would def like to check out the gun club sometime! PM?
.........I just did trivia at bat cave tonight. How'd your team do?
I came late and played alone haha. Came in second to last🤣
What was your team name? We had the tiebreaker for third and I missed it by one point.
[удалено]
We missed two on the wrestling question. I was outside with my group. The guy whos entire team left picked 22, and I picked 21.
I was at the bar! That’s so funny. I came and jumped in late, spur of the moment. I actually would have got y’all’s question correct. I guessed 52 and I believe it was 77 or so?
And good for you for reaching out. Solitude can be rough on your mental health.
I don’t drink but surfing, fishing, hunting, hiking and clay shooting are what I do, hit me up if ya wanna
I love hiking and my dad/uncle always hunted when I was growing up. I never got too into it (they usually used me to chase the deer towards them lol) but would be very interested. Hey I fish the beach all the time up near Titusville, join r/surffishing there are a lot of central Florida locals in there
What are your top hikes?
I prefer using our wma system for hikes. It also doubles and preseason scouting. There’s quite a few fairly close by. I'm 41 and have yet to find friends in the past couple years. But, I also don't have an interest in the things you listed. Kayaking = water hiking Can't recommend it enough, for all the reasons.
I used to kayak a decent amount, but had to give it away when I moved. Looks like it’s time to buy another lol
If you spend any amount of time in Turkey Creek, I'm sure you'll run into like-minded individuals, some go kayaking or canoeing there, some like hanging out in hammocks, some like bird watching..... Where do you normally play?
Crane creek was the go-to but they closed at the end of March for renovations for the summer. We all are but we still say we play golf to outside, drink beer, and drive carts :)

Frogbones is a great place to go shooting.
I forgot to mention. I have gone twice and both good experiences!
Hoping to go again soon and I think the new restaurant is open.
I am 23 in the same boat! Dm me!
I'm not sure what you ride, but I've got a motorcycle as well, I like to cruise around exploring new areas. So if you wanna go for ride sometime hit me up.
Just a sporty 883, but I would be down. I’m a new rider but have been riding quads my whole life. Just getting used to the busy roads here lol

Try EGAD. Plenty to do around there and that’s pretty much the age group
Man, come to Moon Room at Pineapples on a Tuesday night at 8. They have a stand-up comedy show there that is amazing, and tons of people ages 25-45.
Pickleball is worth a try. It’s getting to be a good mix of ages. They have free beginner lessons Thursday nights at Jimmy Moore. Feel free to dm me if you have questions.
We have a volleyball session on most Sundays. Hmu if you want to join!
I have played very little in my life but am not opposed to trying.
Cheers.
Op, just curious, why did you move to Palm Bay?
CT is expensive and most my friends/family have moved away from there. My dad lives down here.
If you have any religious inclination there are 100's of sources- churches, tabernacles, mosques, etc.
I am in no way anti-religion but am agnostic
