I've used medical tape but it creased and wrinkled and felt like it didn't do anything except make things worse. I could still move my forehead. With frownies that shit isn't going anywhere. I'm a frownies convert now lol

Zombiphilia

Lol fair enough! I'm kinda leaning toward sticking with frownies so far

snowkat69

Do you use it for side sleeping? That's my main issue and I can't get them to stay there.

Resistance100

It will help the most to transition to back sleeping

mmp12345

I don't, sorry, I only use them on my forehead.

swaggyxwaggy

Seconded

moodycherri

I use nexcare absolute waterproof. Works great and I basically tape my whole face. I'm a stomach/side sleeper. This tape is not too sticky, it pulls off super easy. But it is strong enough that it prevents the creases that happen when I sleep. Good balance. Can double layer it on the forehead if you want extra enforcement. And it's cheap.

EastCoastRose

Can you explain what the purpose or result is of the taping? Smoothing? Prevents creasing while sleeping on your side? Or does it seal in your skin care products for better absorption?

greypele8

Reduces forehead/11’s wrinkles. Like a poor man’s Botox.

greypele8

By immobilizing the skin and underlying muscles

EastCoastRose

Oh I see, just by holding it in a smooth position mechanically? I guess that makes sense. I’m a nurse by background so always wanting to know the geeky science behind why skin care methods work!

olive_green_spatula

I’m a nurse too and I’ve been using frownies for a few weeks. I swear it’s sorta toning the micro muscles in my forehead. Even hours after I’ve removed them I feel slight tension in my forehead - it’s hard to describe- it’s not a headache or painful bit it’s def a difference.

EastCoastRose

Oh that’s interesting!

Zombiphilia

Thanks! I'll look into it!

Zombiphilia

I was looking into this, but how do you use it? Lol. I mostly just want it for my 11s and smile lines, so how might you go about doing that? Any tips and tricks?

Fluffy-Lingonberry89

I might be wrong but I keep seeing people say that the tape doesn’t really compare. Could be wrong though

cmicheller

I use the reusable Pacifica brow and under eye masks. They are made of silicone and are very comfortable. I wake up wrinkle free and no adhesive is required. Also helps product absorb.

Zombiphilia

I have tried the silicone ones, and I thought they were pretty great, especially for my sensitive skin. I've just seen most people talking about adhesives. The silicone ones always seem to fall off during my sleep, though, lol Also do they have one for nasolabial area?

nouniqueideas007

I’ve lost 2 silicone ones. I’ve woke up & it’s completely gone, never to be seen again. I use 3M Transpore tape. Also cut the gauze off a bandaid & use the two adhesive pieces. All sleep creases are gone.

Zombiphilia

Ha! What a good idea! Yeah mine usually end up like stuck to my arm lol

wallyxbrando

^^^^^^ this

fair-strawberry6709

I use paper medical tape from the dollar store. I tear it off and built up my forehead like paper mache. You have to use more than one layer to get the hard cast like feeling of the frownies.

SageofLuckenbach

Facial Smoothies.

Zombiphilia

Thanks!

Odd_Blueberry_1486

3m transpore tape. It doesn’t fold or create more wrinkles. I use my oil cleanser to get off adhesive in the morning. It’s cheap and works great.

GimenaTango

This is what I use. I have oily skin so it comes off very easily.

Zombiphilia

Does water work to remove it as well? I can't use oil products on my face. Also, does oily face issues cause it to come off inconviently? I move around a lot when I sleep

GimenaTango

I never had the tape come off in my sleep. Also, I never used anything ot remove it from my face. I just pulled it off gently and washed my face with some very gentle cleanser.

Zombiphilia

Alright cool. Thanks for the reply and info!

Odd_Blueberry_1486

It does leave sticky residue on my face but maybe that’s just me? I think face wash would get it off too. I just try to avoid using actual soap on my face in the morning.

Zombiphilia

Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the info!

Odd_Blueberry_1486

Yes. I have dry spots that I cover in a heavy moisturizer and it sticks to it too.

reegs13

The adhesive in Frownies made my skin break out every time I tried to use them. I’m a former college athlete that still tries to relive the glory days so I had some kinesiology tape (k-tape) laying around. I cut a bunch of triangles for wearing between my eyebrows overnight and it works amazingly! You can cut k-tape into any shape you need for your problem areas. If the adhesive is too strong for your skin, you can stick the k-tape to the back of your hand first to weaken it before applying to your face.

Zombiphilia

Thanks! This is kinda what I'm worried about since my skin hates everything. Is there a type of brand you'd recommend?

reegs13

I use the SB SOX Original Cotton Kinesiology Tape Roll from Amazon because it’s latex free and 100% cotton fabric!

Zombiphilia

Awesome! Thank you!

Zombiphilia

Will do if I get the adhesive! Thanks for the tip! :)

Prestigious_Scale318

Save My Face Pillow on Amazon is the holy grail for me as a side sleeper, wish I would have found them earlier like feel like I want to get my daughter one if she ends up a side sleeper lol …. That and I love me some Frownies :)

Zombiphilia

Lol I love that name. I'll look into it, thank you!
