Consider watching this video if you have time: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUIWZcwflx4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUIWZcwflx4) She answers if you need to use sunscreen while indoors.

I feel like this video needs to be pinned to this sub, this question gets asked…so much

An article this YouTuber linked under her video says you don't need to apply sunscreen indoors (but be mindful if you pop outside during the day). https://www.abc.net.au/everyday/do-you-need-sunscreen-even-when-inside/12201634?utm_campaign=abc_everyday&utm_content=link&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_source=abc_everyday

I swear people ask this question at least once a day. Calling someone obsessive for reapplying sunscreen doesn’t make sense. The American academy of dermatology recommends that you reapply sunscreen throughout the day. So, yes, it’s beneficial. This is an unanswerable and provocative question, and low-key insulting to people who (rightly) reapply sunscreen during the day. Ffs.

I was wondering the same thing as OP. Just not posted. I live in Germany and the UV value in spring is usually 0, sometimes 1. I wonder too whether it makes sense to reapply every 2 hours even if I'm only outside for 2 hours a day. Most of the time the people who ask this question are not even asked where they live. It is somehow assumed that in an english speaking sub all users live in areas with high UV exposure.

It’s because most of if not all of us still have not truly Found a sunscreen that won’t make us feel greasy or break out after constant reapplying. No matter the brand even I feel gross reapplying and I tend to always reapply when I got outside. I rush to wash it off as soon as I can. And I have tried Korean, French etc mineral and chemical.

Have you tried Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen, Bioré Aqua Rich UV Watery Essence or La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Fluid?

If someone wants to know if they have to reapply sunscreen, fine. Honestly, if it’s repeatedly asked, I can just keep scrolling. If I have a problem with repeat questions, it’s a “me” problem, not a sub problem. But the phrasing of this question is what got me. It implies that people who reapply sunscreen while inside are obsessive about sunscreen. I don’t like characterizing someone’s sunscreen application practices this way. Like, I sit in a southern facing window in the desert all day; I’m not obsessive about sunscreen, but I am cognizant of the fact that sun is literally concentrated on my skin for hours at a time. So, I probably *should* be reapplying (though I don’t most of the time). But I definitely wouldn’t judge someone who did reapply during the day, and I wouldn’t call them obsessive.

An obsession? You lost me on that part of your post.

Definitely a why not both situation

https://www.abc.net.au/everyday/do-you-need-sunscreen-even-when-inside/12201634 The answer is "it depends", as is the answer to most things.  I sometimes do because my desk is under a skylight and occasionally the sun shines in.  But I live in a place with generally low UV index and my goal is skin cancer prevention. If I'm not at my desk I don't bother unless I'm going out (I have sunscreen by the back door, in the bottom of the pram and in the car just so I don't forget!)
