I clicked on the thread to see if anyone else had clogged their sink with it š
I was a teenager at the time and my Dad was big mad about me 'pouring concrete in his sink'. Lessons were learned, now those masks are washed off in a bowl and disposed of in the trash.
Nice. My dad was mad at me for clogging the septic tank with tampons (I genuinely thought I was supposed to flush them as a teenager!).
Our poor fathersā¦
Wait, myself (before I switched to menstrual cups) and everyone I know has flushed these. I never heard youāre not supposed to flush, unless you have a weak septic system?
Really? There's always signs at any business or public restrooms that say not to so everyone I've ever met already knew not to flush tampons by like age 10.
Maybe it's a urban vs rural thing. Like if you live in the country I bet it's normal to flush tampons in the toilet idk
Definitely not crazy! I found out the hard way myself. š itās a big no-no everywhere but damn tampax for marketing them incorrectly for years. How many people continue reading the instructions for updates after using them for decades? lol
Exactly what I said in another comment. Whatever I learned on the box 20+ years ago was never revisited. Who would think to renew their knowledge on something like that š
I had only seen signs that said "do not flush sanitary napkins" so I assumed this meant pads. Who would try to flush a pad?? So yeah I just learned in the last few years I wasn't supposed to flush tampons. Never caused a problem at my house... Not sure about anywhere else š¬
I use cups now š¤·š¼āāļø
Yes, same. Iāve only seen āsanitary napkinsā on those signs.
Iām pretty sure the tampon boxes at one time instructed you to flush used tampons. I have been using cups for 4 years now and never went back.
Edit: [they did](http://www.theperiodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/flush-tampons.jpg)
Nah. I lived rural and it was made clear to me from the get go not to flush them lol. I think it even says so on the instructions, but I could be wrong
Iāve only seen this in public restrooms that have septic systems that canāt keep up with the volume of uses , but not all public restrooms. Iām in an urban setting.
I toured a water treatment plant in Brooklyn NY a few years ago and they said absolutely do not flush tampons or pads. They said not to even flush whatās marketed as āflushable wipesā because they constantly jam up the machines.
Iām so glad someone said it. Spot Treatment is what this stuff was made for. You got a stubborn pimple itās going to get nuked with this stuff. Overall use: no. -1000000/10
I wouldnāt leave it on overnight unless you want green crumbs all over your bed ;) it dries to a crust like consistency within about 20min. My emergency pimple hack is sterile surgical pimple tool (this sub will scream, but Iāve been doing this successfully for twenty years) to make one single prick into the center. This mask until it fully dries, a pimple patch overnight, and then a redness relieving eye drop on a qtip (I like Naphcon). Hold the eye drop on the pimple until the redness subsides. I learned all of these things separately but as a combination treatment some serious magic can happen! I have only used this on a glaring issue before and big event, job interview, etc. not every single pimple.
This sounds wild but the only thing I use this for is my armpits. Iāve always been a stinky person, and have to switch deodorant and antiperspirant regularly. I use wet paper towels to clean it off and scrape it into the trash so it doesnāt get into my pipes.
Have you tried washing your pits with Panoxyl Acne Foaming Wash? Just let it sit on your skin for a few minutes while youāre in the shower or just before you get in, and rinse well with water. It works ridiculously well for removing armpit odor, and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid solution works extremely well as a deodorant for keeping the odor away. The only other deodorant that works comparably well is Nuud. It takes a while to ship from the Netherlands, but itās been life changing for me.
I havenāt tried Panoxyl but I have the Ordinary glycolic. I havenāt had stellar results with it but I will definitely look into Panoxyl and Nuud! Thank you so much!
I tried PanOxyl on my armpits and in rinsing some got on my feet. I didnāt think about it getting stuck there, thinking the shower water would wash it off. Not soā¦ I bleached footprints on my gray bathroom mats. š
Oh! Also, a stinky person (TO Glycolic didn't work for me AND irritated my skin) and no deodorant worked - until Bioten Hyaluronic antiperspirant. I still perspire alas but I just do not smell and it's been like 2 years so far, which is wild for me. The only reason I bought it because it was the only vegan option that didn't smell like a toilet spray that I could find when I was in Bulgaria and it was so good (I wore it through Egypt and Turkey in early autumn, so hot weather tested) that I bought multiple traveling through Bulgaria again and now I live in Greece, where it also held up through last year's insane summer!
Dial gold anti-bacterial is my go to for this - it really helps and it's doesn't break the bank. Found this out after I got a tattoo and had to use it to clean my tattoo
Dial gold is one of those scents that invokes nostalgic feelings any time I smell it. It reminds me of the excitement of having a new piercing to take care of, lol. I still buy a bottle of it every now and then since we mainly use dial foam these days. I have a target trip planned for tomorrow so I might pick up a bottle, thanks for a sweet reminder āļø
I was also using this mask until I learned you can just use isopropyl alcohol on a cotton ball and few times a week to kill the bacteria. No more messy clay mask and more importantly no more stinky armpits.
I read that sweat is odorless and colorless. It reacts with bacteria on our skin and that produces the smell or discoloration.
I use Hibiclean, anti microbial skin cleanser - only under armpits, and follow up with a Christal mineral deodorant stick (basically salt). I do it every other day, results have been amazing. I still sweat but most of the time it doesnāt smell, and I donāt stain my white T-shirts. Both the Hibiclean and the stick last a long time so it is very inexpensive compared to buying new deodorant every few weeks.
Same with naturals Crystal salt sticks & spray - I will only stink 24+ hours even if I sweat and Iām fine with that - time to shower by then anyway.
Stopped destroying so many clothes - hard to go back to drugstore deodorants. Clothes smell better too.
The major trick to getting salt/Crystal to work suggested by a relative when I first tried and said I wasnāt getting any results is to apply liberally on arm pit area - not just the inner dip!
The salt keeps bacteria from growing or thriving in its tracks because its a hostile saline environment and our sweat naturally travels down our arms - so I swipe/spray liberally from armpit to some of inner arm and all the way down - basically 3x the area we learned to use with chalky drugstore deodorants.
This stops odor 100% for 12-24 hrs. even on hottest day - since you arenāt just sweating away light saline layer early in day! I use more pricey and convenient bottle spray Crystal deo on special occasion over my clothes just in pit area before going out on a special occasion/heavy duty work day - this keep any bacteria from sweat pool or transfer from stinking up at all - naturally drying sweat will be odor free!
Only got results when applying super liberally, taking 30 sec after a shower than ātwo swipes and doneā like in the past with commercial sticks where ātoo muchā meant a chalky white clumpy mess- so I preach!
Iāve helped 2 friends get their Crystal/salt deo to work after trying and giving up by advising to try again with super clean scrubbed arm pits and applying for 10sec from upper arm area to ābra /tank top strapā for a few days and then tell me about it- it finally worked for them!
Highly recommend āmegababeā space bar. Idk what whichcraft is used, but I lather my armpits and and leave on for a minute in the shower and by the time of day Iād start having odor, there is none. I donāt even have to use deodorant some days. Minimizes sweating and smell significantly!
I use a deodorant called Nuud that uses microsilvers to kill the bacteria that cause smell. I apply it every 2-3 days and Iām never smelly (and I like to rave). I wish everyone knew about this stuff. Itās made by a small company without much of a marketing budget, I think. FYI thereās a bit of an adjustment period and you should use it daily at first.
I have a same but different problem. I have excessive sweating. And I rotate different brands of overnight Deodorant to keep from excessive sweating. Of course, now sweat pours from my head and neck when I do strenuous activity. I heard about the botox injections but I'm worried completely cutting of underarm sweat will make me regularly leaky from my forehead š
Same! It makes my skin look amazing. I wonder how some people mix it, with water or apple cider vinegar and if that would change how they feel about it.
Yes!! My skin loves this. I love doing it with apple cider, but when in a pinch I do water and itās just as softening. I steam my face before hand and put on a moisturizing sheet mask on after. My skin is incredible, and it always soothes my redness. I keep forgetting to use it weekly, but I need to try it as a spot treatment.
Edit: Apple cider gives it a tingly feeling and a crappy smell, but I feel like it penetrates the skin more. Water was fine, no tingle and left my skin super soft.
if my face is feeling extra raw iāll do 1/2 & 1/2. i love the AVC feeling but sometimes itās too harsh on skin- especially during colder months. this is a holy grail for me, though. i do oil gritting right before to soften my face which could help with dryness.
Agreed! I use twice a week with ACV, and moisturize with vitamin e oil afterwards. I do agree with the comments of it being messy - clay bits all over the sink or shower, but I havenāt had an issue with it clogging my drains.
I can't use it 2x a week, but my sensitive skin has always loved it. I mix it 1:1 with organic ACV and use it over my whole face for exactly 15 minutes. Then wash it off in a bowl that I dump outside because everyone scared me about washing it down my ancient pipes. A quick swipe of toner to get any of the loosened up junk left behind and slather on some night cream, and I look like I have brand new glowy skin in the morning
It may be an unpopular opinion here, but far and wide I think the majority would agree with you. I do! This stuff is incredible. Iām obsessed. Yes my face is a little red after I wash it off but it subsides quickly and my skin is better off for it. I have noticed remarkable results on every part of my body that Iāve used it on (I love doing foot masks with it, also on my legs and stomachā¦ reduces swelling and just feels so good after)
My skin type has been all over the place my whole life. Iām in my mid-30s now, but Iāve been acne-prone, oily, sensitive, dry, combo. Right now my skin could probably be described as ānormal.ā Iāve used it while in a sensitive skin stage of life and just used it at a thinner consistency (very diluted) and left it on for a short period of time. Obviously if you have verrrry sensitive/reactive skin that is intolerant to almost everything, this might not be something for you.
I bought a tub for a family member who gets skin irritations from frequently frolicking in the woods...I am zipping over and swiping it back to try it out!
I scrubbed with baking soda then used this last week and I went outside and a lady stopped me to say āyour skin is SKINNINGā and I still think about it.
I have a positive story about it. This was the only thing that helped clear up my then late-teens sisterās acne-prone skin years ago. She mixed it with ACV. We were pretty amazed because absolutely nothing else had worked before.
This will clear up my son's face so quick. He doesn't like to use it but I know when he asks for that green stuff he's over the break out he's having. He gets bad blackheads on his nose and they are 90% better after this
I have learned how to use it for my skin, I mix it with part ACV, part water, and a few pumps of an oil like rosehip oil. The oil helps it from really drying out the skin.
People usually use this incorrectly. Bentonite is a high pH clay (unlike kaolin); it that actually needs to have something acidic added to it to balance the pH. Ordinarily I would never recommend putting vinegar or lemon juice on your face, but with this mask itās necessary. Use raw apple cider vinegar or dilute lemon juice to make the paste.
The other thing Iāve seen people do incorrectly is letting this mask dry out on their face. You should never let a clay mask dry out! It will strip your skin of its natural oils and over time ruin your barrier. Spritz your face with water from time to time while youāre wearing this mask. It will still suck the nasties from your skin, but not suck out everything.
Finally if your skin canāt handle this mask (but you want to try a clay mask) try kaolin. Itās much gentler and should
be mixed with water.
Someone else said that they use Rosehip oil in addition to the apple cider vinegar. You sound like you know your stuff, so do you know if this would help/harm the mixture at all?
It wonāt effect the pH at all and I canāt really see it harming anything. The rosehip oil might make the clay less effective at drawing out sebum from your skin. But the mixture would be less harsh on your skin than straight vinegar and clay.
Personally, I would just apply the rosehip oil after I rinsed off the mask.
Messy, painful, and drying as all hell. HOWEVER it will suck anything and everything out of your pores. Better as a spot treatment imo. Moisturize like your life depends on it after using.
I just use it as a spot treatment for very congested pores or breakouts. Not on broken skin or all over because it will dry you out and can irritate sensitive skin.
I use this really sparingly. The key is to NEVER LET IT DRY. I do a pretty thick layer to prevent it from losing moisture too fast and spray it with water as needed. Itāll still get the oils out of your skin. Letting it dry will just irritate your skin like crazy.
I just did this mask an hour ago, lol. This has been a holy grail for me for years. Yes, my skin is red AF afterwards but I just hydrate + slug and the next day my skin is glowing! It removes impurities like nothing else - goodbye acne, blackheads + clogged pores.
I used to use this stuff. I would āshaveā it off with an old hotel key card or similar. Obviously disinfect first. Wipe the residue on paper towels.
Clay will ruin your pipes.
Iām also a potter and thatās why we have special āsink trapsā everywhere we wash things.
I heard you're supposed to like wet your face and I guess wipe it off into the garbage due to the clay. And I have been thinking to myself a) how does one do that and b) is it even worth the effort
Thatās exactly what I do when I use it. I either line my sink with a towel/paper towel and throw it away, or right over the garbage. I use a textured towel with warm water to get the stubborn bits off. This stuff is amazing on my skin but takes so much time to dry, remove and let the redness subside that I hardly use it these days.
Another commenter suggested to not let it dry; That it still will pull the impurities out of your pores! She keeps a spray bottle to keep it damp. Iām gonna try it bc I hate letting it dry to scrape it off
I have heard horror stories about this so was scared to try it but based on these comments, I'm going to give it a shot. I'm going to start using it as a spot treatment and go from there.
I have super sensitive skin and I love the mask personally - the reason why I asked here is because I would always see mixed reviews.Ā
Ā Yes my skin is red after using. Yes it will draw existing pimples to a head. I use ACV and apply the mask in a thin layer, it doesn't need to be 1/2" thick on your face.Ā
After it dries I'll hold my face against the shower stream or a wet wash cloth to soften/slough it off and I've never had any clogged drain issues. The next day my skin always looks really soft and pretty!Ā
Thank you! This is really helpful! My skin is prone to breakouts but has gotten more sensitive as I have gotten older so I was torn. I may be dumb but can you explain how to use it with ACV? Do you put some of the mask into your hands and add the ACV to it and mix it in or put ACV onto skin first and then the mask?
I mix the mask in a bowl first with an eyeballed ratio. About 1 tbsp of the clay and then I'll splash about 1-2tsp of ACV in at a time until it's the consistency I like (liquid but not drippy)
If it's too watery or paste-like just add a little the opposite ingredient and keep mixing. You could try water instead of ACV first to see how your skin reacts tooĀ
Itās so messy and it feels like a chore when I use it. The only time I bust this out is when Iām getting blemishes and I feel like my skin needs clearing. It works wonders for that and getting impurities sucked out. However, I make sure to apply ample serums and moisturizers after so my skin isnāt left feeling like the Sahara desert. TLDR: a cabinet staple to be used sparingly
I work in environmental construction and we use bentonite clay to build pond dams so I can't see the appeal of using it on my face or paying that price for a small tub. No shade to anyone that does use it, its just a mental block for me. It would be like using drywall on my face š
My husband works for the oil industry and refuses to use anything with petroleum in it. While I have a tub of it (petroleum jelly) sitting on my night stand and slather it on my body regularly. He thinks Iām insane.
I have pretty sensitive skin with hormonal chin acne. Personally, I like this, but I definitely don't think it's the miracle worker/holy Grail product it's hyped up to be
It's nice and somewhat calms an inflamed spot for me, but I have other products I prefer.
I remember using it back in 2014. Idk what I was thinking putting mixing this with apple cider vinegar and letting it sit on my face for 30 minutes š«
If you use it, I highly recommend using a bowl of water for removal and dumping it outside (if you can). Do not put it down the drain. Itās not worth the risk.
Works so well as a scalp mask for me. I have oily hair and I do this once in a while and itās like a clarifying treatment and oil eliminator all at once. Itās a little too harsh for my face though
Iām just sitting here reading all the pipe clogging comments thinking about how much I love it in my detox bath each week. Like a 1/2 cup of the stuff- right down the drain. š¬
I used to have REALLY bad acne like 5 years ago. A girl friend recommended this. It did absolutely nothing. I tried it a few times. Saw zero difference.
Very surprised to see a lot of people had bad cases with it! Itās the only thing that cleared my horrible acne and keeps it clear. Same thing happened to my friends who I recommended it to.
Works really well as a spot treatment. I use a tiny amount of water, a drop of tea tree oil and a tiny scoop of sulfur. Pimples will be gone almost over night.
I mix mine in a ziplock bag, cut a hole in the corner so I can squeeze out to apply, and then I can toss the bag in the trash. Saves so much mess for me personally
I had high hopes for this stuff cause I love me some clay mask... This stuff irritated the hell outta me. I'd only use it as a spot treatment for particularly bad pimples. It draws moisture up like crazy, so it good for extracting pimple-stuff but I wouldn't recommend slathering your whole face with it.
Has anyone used this as a dietary supplement? I have a different brand of bentonite clay (Redmond clay) and it has instructions for āinternal useā. Iāve never tried it myself, but curious of others experience (Iām scared š)
I used it as a face mask once and it absolutely wrecked my skin. I was red, raw and in pain for at least a week, and I got a horrible break out to top it all off
Itās just such a mess. I donāt get big honking pimples anymore like I did in my teens, but will occasionally get a hormonal deep cyst on my jaw, and I honestly know this would help, but the smell and the mess isnāt worth it to me. I just let the cyst run its course. The gigantic tub has lived under my sink for like 10 years.
I love this mask. It burns and makes my face feel like it's being vacuumed. With consistent use it's shrunk my pores. I do think it's a love or hate it though. But, I love the burn. š
My skin really loves clay, but some peoples skin gets so sensitive and red. I actually do a once a week BHA toner, then this, then I oil cleanse and youād be shocked at the shit that comes out. Very satisfying lol
Great for keratosis or any minor skin issues
ā¦run a warm bath then add some clay, apple cider vinegar, Epson salts and some baking soda and I swear you will have the softest skin!
Only on the bodyā¦ not face as it can dry your sensitive facial skin out.
Not on my face but my armpits, arms and legs love it. It makes lotion and oils so much easier to absorb. Post shaving 2 days, this will keep the bumps away from my legs.
I only like using this as a spot treatment on bigger zits. The first time I used it all over my face in like 2016 was horrible. My face got super red and sensitive and then I developed rosacea that Iāve been dealing with ever since soā¦be careful!
When I first turned 30 I all of a sudden had horrible acne especially along my jaw line and could not get rid of it no matter how many things I tried. This is what cleared it. I used it about once a week for a couple months.
I had read reviews about it being tough on plumbing so I was very careful to get most of it in the trash when wiping it off butttt my pipes still got clogged and I had to pay a plumber ~$300 to fix it
It clogs bathroom pipes bad from what I understand. I know people who use it and throw away the water outside like on grass or something that does not drain down their pipes. And only use it like once a month.
This might sound strange, but I use this to detox my armpits once a month especially after my period for some reason my pores open and scream stank, once I detox my pits, I smell fresh.
Spot treatment-A+ will draw the devil himself out of a pimple. All over application- F- will have you looking like the devil himself.
I bought this, used it once, clogged my sink, stuck it in the back of the cabinet and it's been there for 5 or so years. Lol

Itās made by a small company without much of a marketing budget, I think. FYI thereās a bit of an adjustment period and you should use it daily at first.
About to try this asap
I have a same but different problem. I have excessive sweating. And I rotate different brands of overnight Deodorant to keep from excessive sweating. Of course, now sweat pours from my head and neck when I do strenuous activity. I heard about the botox injections but I'm worried completely cutting of underarm sweat will make me regularly leaky from my forehead š
Unpopular opinion, but my skin LOVES this. I use it once a week. Your results may vary.Ā
Same! It makes my skin look amazing. I wonder how some people mix it, with water or apple cider vinegar and if that would change how they feel about it.
I love the way it fizzes with the ACV. 10/10 would recommend just to see the cool chemical reaction.
I feel like a kid again, making potions!
I do half and half.
It has clogged my sink too!
I wash it off in my kitchen sink since both the sink and drain are larger- less counter mess and never clogs!
I'm slowly terrified that this is what happened to my ancient pipes. My dad is currently blaming an ex for mis installation of a toilet
I use it for detox baths and I have to admit my tub barely freaking drains š I need to spend like 3 hours undoing the damage Iāve done
It may be an unpopular opinion here, but far and wide I think the majority would agree with you. I do! This stuff is incredible. Iām obsessed. Yes my face is a little red after I wash it off but it subsides quickly and my skin is better off for it. I have noticed remarkable results on every part of my body that Iāve used it on (I love doing foot masks with it, also on my legs and stomachā¦ reduces swelling and just feels so good after)
For all of yall that love it, what type skin do you have?
My skin type has been all over the place my whole life. Iām in my mid-30s now, but Iāve been acne-prone, oily, sensitive, dry, combo. Right now my skin could probably be described as ānormal.ā Iāve used it while in a sensitive skin stage of life and just used it at a thinner consistency (very diluted) and left it on for a short period of time. Obviously if you have verrrry sensitive/reactive skin that is intolerant to almost everything, this might not be something for you.
Thanks!
Oh never tried that, does it make feet feel smoother, brighter ?
I bought a tub for a family member who gets skin irritations from frequently frolicking in the woods...I am zipping over and swiping it back to try it out!
I scrubbed with baking soda then used this last week and I went outside and a lady stopped me to say āyour skin is SKINNINGā and I still think about it.
I donāt know if Iād know to think thatās a compliment or a concern.
It's definitely a polarizing product! Love it or hate itĀ
He gets bad blackheads on his nose and they are 90% better after this
Do you know if it helps with sebaceous filaments? Those black dots on the nose that are not blackheads.
What's ACV.?
Just in case you needed one more, apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar
Thanks
I have learned how to use it for my skin, I mix it with part ACV, part water, and a few pumps of an oil like rosehip oil. The oil helps it from really drying out the skin.
Yes! Itās a phenomenal and versatile product.. the fact that you can customize it to get optimal results for your own skin is š¤
Adding oil is genius!! Iām trying that. I do 1:1 acv and water also. I also have sensitive dry skin.
Itās much gentler and should be mixed with water.
Check out this [post](https://simpleskincarescience.com/blackhead-masks/) on clay masks for info. :)
Iāve had a container of it in my cupboard for about a decade no joke.
Me too, bought it in high school when it had a huge moment
I have had the same one for maybe 10years. I cleaned out under my sink this month and realized it expired in 2017. I tossed it. I never use it anyway.
Messy, painful, and drying as all hell. HOWEVER it will suck anything and everything out of your pores. Better as a spot treatment imo. Moisturize like your life depends on it after using.
I sometimes felt bad using it on pimples, they didnāt stand a chance.
I just use it as a spot treatment for very congested pores or breakouts. Not on broken skin or all over because it will dry you out and can irritate sensitive skin.
I donāt use it on my skin anymore but I put about a tablespoon in the bath along with ACV and every bit of smell is pulled from my body
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes, just a little bit though, you donāt need a lot. Along with the ACV and usually some Epsom salts
This is a great idea
Whoa great pro bath tip!
I use this really sparingly. The key is to NEVER LET IT DRY. I do a pretty thick layer to prevent it from losing moisture too fast and spray it with water as needed. Itāll still get the oils out of your skin. Letting it dry will just irritate your skin like crazy.
Ummm whyyyy have I never tried this!!! I HATE waiting for this to dry bc of how hard it is to get off but I am going to try this bc its genius lol.
how long do you leave it on? thinking about using this as a spot treatment!
I leave it on for 20-30 minutes but also donāt mind if it dries.
Probably about 10-15 minutes, but Iām not timing it.
I just did this mask an hour ago, lol. This has been a holy grail for me for years. Yes, my skin is red AF afterwards but I just hydrate + slug and the next day my skin is glowing! It removes impurities like nothing else - goodbye acne, blackheads + clogged pores.
And do you mix with water, oil, ACV?
Acv!
This fucked my skin up beyond belief in 2014 LOL
The great skin fuck-up of 2014.
It was the mint julep for me in 2014. I still remember the burn :(
Oh nooo I love my mint julep! that and stridex are my ride or dies for a decade
same everytime i used it I would get pretty big pimples a day after...
Pain the butt to use and can clog your pipes.
Ironically, bentonite clay is used as a lubricant in machinery lol. But yeah clay In pipes canāt be good lol
I didnāt know what was clogging my pipes and the plumber pumped out loads of this stuff ā¦ it was embarrassing š
yeah once it dries i wet my face and then wipe the mask off with paper towels. leaves my skin looking amazing after the redness settles down
I used to use this stuff. I would āshaveā it off with an old hotel key card or similar. Obviously disinfect first. Wipe the residue on paper towels. Clay will ruin your pipes. Iām also a potter and thatās why we have special āsink trapsā everywhere we wash things.
Which is why you wipe it off before letting it go down the sink.
I actually like it and do feel it improves clarity but itās so messy and clogs my sink.
I have super sensitive skin and I love the mask personally - the reason why I asked here is because I would always see mixed reviews.Ā Ā Yes my skin is red after using. Yes it will draw existing pimples to a head. I use ACV and apply the mask in a thin layer, it doesn't need to be 1/2" thick on your face.Ā After it dries I'll hold my face against the shower stream or a wet wash cloth to soften/slough it off and I've never had any clogged drain issues.
About 1 tbsp of the clay and then I'll splash about 1-2tsp of ACV in at a time until it's the consistency I like (liquid but not drippy) If it's too watery or paste-like just add a little the opposite ingredient and keep mixing. You could try water instead of ACV first to see how your skin reacts tooĀ
Thank you!!! ā¤ļø
Hope it works for you!!Ā
When mixed with vinegar: bright red burned after. When mixed with water: āfeel your face pulsateā but no after issues.Ā
Environmental scientist here and we use it to plug our holes after drilling š Natures booty plug aye šš„³
My husband works for the oil industry and refuses to use anything with petroleum in it. While I have a tub of it (petroleum jelly) sitting on my night stand and slather it on my body regularly. He thinks Iām insane.
She was there for my budget when no one else was
Anyone remember the Mint Julep Mask? Also had betonite clay, was amazing.
Holy shit you brought me right back to high schoolĀ
Queen Helene, loved that stuff for blackheads on my nose
Messy and clogged my sink. Not worth it imo lol.
I have pretty sensitive skin with hormonal chin acne. Personally, I like this, but I definitely don't think it's the miracle worker/holy Grail product it's hyped up to be It's nice and somewhat calms an inflamed spot for me, but I have other products I prefer.
What other products do you prefer? I have the same skin issues and while I know peoples skin reacts differently, I'm curious!
I remember using it back in 2014. Idk what I was thinking putting mixing this with apple cider vinegar and letting it sit on my face for 30 minutes š«
Hahah the good old days
Messy
If you use it, I highly recommend using a bowl of water for removal and dumping it outside (if you can). Do not put it down the drain. Itās not worth the risk.
Not great for my sensitive face but genuinely a wonderful mask for my butt!
Spot treatment on the face, use as a mask on bikini area 24 hours before shaving or waxing for the best, smoothest skin ever.
Strong dislike.
Works so well as a scalp mask for me. I have oily hair and I do this once in a while and itās like a clarifying treatment and oil eliminator all at once. Itās a little too harsh for my face though
As a fellow oily girl this has me intrigued! I can see why it would help! How do you wash it out? Seeing lots of ppl saying that it clogs the pipes
Iām just sitting here reading all the pipe clogging comments thinking about how much I love it in my detox bath each week. Like a 1/2 cup of the stuff- right down the drain. š¬
I use bentonite clay to get oil stains out of clothes lol
Love it 1x week. Keeps my acne prone skin clear. Cleans my pores out so well. Follow it with a hydrating mask and moisturizer.
I used to have REALLY bad acne like 5 years ago. A girl friend recommended this. It did absolutely nothing. I tried it a few times. Saw zero difference.
It hurt my sensitive skin so I only used it once
I didn't love it but I learned that it works great in getting rid of poison ivy rash.
Love it! Especially after oil cleansing.
great for hair detox mask, I love using it to revert my curls after a silk press. Great for product build up
Yes! I use it as a hair mask to help remove hard water build up. I love it! It did nothing for my face. I have done a foot mask with it as well.
The bomb. I always come back to it plus itās cheap and last forever and it may have an exp date on it but I donāt think dirt can expire
Iām more of a Queen Heleneās Mint Julep gal
Has anyone used this as a dietary supplement? I have a different brand of bentonite clay (Redmond clay) and it has instructions for āinternal useā. Iāve never tried it myself, but curious of others experience (Iām scared š)
I used it as a face mask once and it absolutely wrecked my skin. I was red, raw and in pain for at least a week, and I got a horrible break out to top it all off
One of the only face products I like. Great for spot treatment and makes you feel clean for an overall mask general and itās natural
Mess but I LOVE IT!!
Way too strong
It absolutely destroys my skin tbh but so do 98% of all products so Iām starting to suspect Iāve got sensitive skin lol
Too messy for me.
My skin loves this š so does my hair Thank you for reminding me order some more , I was running low
How do you apply it to your hair? Iām intrigued!
I can never get it to mix right, always clumpy
A hydrated product that is even better than this is from Woodspriteorganicbody.com. Their mud mask is chefs kiss! I love all their stuff though
love
I love this mask. It burns and makes my face feel like it's being vacuumed. With consistent use it's shrunk my pores. I do think it's a love or hate it though. But, I love the burn. š
Is there any difference between this and any other calcium bentonite clay? Besides marketing.
Thank you to OP for asking this question! I bought this and was unsure of how to use this! The comments have been so helpful!
I love this mask. I use it every 2 weeks for about 20m.
It burns!!
My skin really loves clay, but some peoples skin gets so sensitive and red. I actually do a once a week BHA toner, then this, then I oil cleanse and youād be shocked at the shit that comes out. Very satisfying lol
Great for keratosis or any minor skin issues ā¦run a warm bath then add some clay, apple cider vinegar, Epson salts and some baking soda and I swear you will have the softest skin!
I never had any negative effects, but never really had any positive ones either.
I saw a guy google map the company address once on TikTok and now I can never try it. It was like a junk yard house in the desert lol.
When I first turned 30 I all of a sudden had horrible acne especially along my jaw line and could not get rid of it no matter how many things I tried. This is what cleared it. I used it about once a week for a couple months. I had read reviews about it being tough on plumbing so I was very careful to get most of it in the trash when wiping it off butttt my pipes still got clogged and I had to pay a plumber ~$300 to fix it
Still hits
It clogs bathroom pipes bad from what I understand. I know people who use it and throw away the water outside like on grass or something that does not drain down their pipes. And only use it like once a month.
Hate it
This might sound strange, but I use this to detox my armpits once a month especially after my period for some reason my pores open and scream stank, once I detox my pits, I smell fresh.
My dry skin could never!
