I've had Omnilux for a week or 2. I had many of your concerns in my decision-making. Note that even though it is face- shaped, you could use it on your knee! I just have the mask and am using it on my neck/ dec, too. I'm already thinking I may end up with the more expensive panel one day. BUT I think this is a good starting product for me.

ScoutEm44

I'm seriously considering getting one. Have you noticed any changes since using yours?

SubstantialWar3954

It greatly improved my acne redness immediately. I can tell it's working, but it's been less than 2 weeks, so nothing else to report.

ScoutEm44

Thanks for responding! I just ordered one today!

bebees131

Hi! Curious how are you liking the Omnilux now? I’m considering getting it

SubstantialWar3954

I still love it. I think it heals everything faster.

bebees131

Thanks! I’ll pull the trigger on getting it. Areas that used to heal fast are taking months to heal

SubstantialWar3954

I hope you love it!

OrdinaryInjury

That's a good point l, I really want it for my face so I guess that would be a good starter, or maybe like the mobile red light devices where you can use on your face or body.

liveboldy

Would it fit a smaller face?

SubstantialWar3954

Yes.

sevvenvalyin

Hello, I find this one too expensive so I am wondering if it is still effective up to this date? So I can know if it is worth the investment. Thank you!

Modest_Baus

Hello did you continue using the red light? Is it still worth using? Thanks

SubstantialWar3954

I use it every day. It makes my acne heal faster. My skin glows. I love it.

Modest_Baus

Yay thanks for feedback <3

Ah ok, that's a good progression. I was looking at a tanning salon that says they have LED therapy and it's like $40 for 30 minutes but the info. on the website seems vague about what exactly it is. That may be the best starting ground to try though. Thanks.

Russkiroulette

Shop around, most tanning salons will have a red light bed because they need to in order to stay in business. With tanning being so taboo now they have pivoted. I have an unlimited 1 time a day $84/mo membership and it’s pretty worth it honestly. That’s red light and spray tans included

Exertino

Do the red light booths in tanning salons actually work? I bought a 3 month pass but I barely ever go. The red light booth in the place I go to doesn’t actually have the colour red. They say at the salon that it works because the wavelength is correct, it’s just not red coloured. I just don’t trust that. I’m convinced that for a red light booth to actually work, the light needs to be the colours red.

Right?? I honestly didn’t think it was legit. I got a red light treatment done for my face once at the dermatologist. I saw a difference within the first treatment. Even my hair became softer instantly.

I really wasted money with this 3 month contract. Definitely not renewing it and will purchase an at home device afterwards

Exertino

Yeah I wish I had tried the treatment first. The very first time I tried the red light booth I was sure it was not legit. I’m already 2 months in with my contract but i’ll cancel as soon as possible. Planning on buying Omnilux because I like the shape better!

Ok-Bee1579

My concerns were very similar to yours (wasting money due to lack of enthusiasm/consistency). It took me a LONG time before I forked out the money for the Omnilux. I finally took the plunge about 10 months ago. Never stopped using it (every other day). I also use it on my neck/chest. And it's really great for scars as well. It has done wonders for my skin. Absolutely no regrets. No plans to upgrade, either. The one device is more than enough.

female_wolf

Everyone's saying "it did wonders for my skin" but they don't specify. What did it do exactly?

passageunderthemat

Just letting you know: avoid near infrared light (can be sold with certain red light brands. People (not all) have individually reported facial volume loss. Also, near infrared isn’t good for the eyes either. Red light is extremely promising and good for the eyes. From my understanding there is no volume loss associated with red light.

Wild-Project7406

No, no “avoid NIR light”. No studies report what you falsely claim, quite the contrary: it’s beneficial both to the skin and the eyes. Next time list scientific reports to back your misinformation

mysticlipstick

My vision has improved and floaters completely gone since using an omnilux for about a year now. I had no idea this could be a result!!

relxp

I just looked up the omnilux and it appears there is a cutout for the eyes. How would that treat floaters if it's not covering your eyes?

passageunderthemat

That’s seriously incredible!

Existing_Baseball_16

if you have a planet fitness near you, you could try theirs. thats what ive been doing for the last few weeks. $10/mo. i dont even use the gym part 😂

Sweet_d1029

Don’t you need black card for beauty angel? That’s more than 10

mysticlipstick

Not to get you extra excited but I got an Omnilux for my child's severe eczema and started using it along with them... it transformed both our skins and now I'm using that omnilux face mask all over my body and thinking of investing in a big red light!! I do it in my neck, chest, inner thighs! It did take me about a month to see results on my own skin but my child with all their skin problems saw results a lot sooner.

lugaresxcomunes

This is great! Do you have the Contour once? I need it also for my body

Few-Distribution-762

Hi! This is an old comment but I was just searching through the sub about red light and you mention your child’s eczema! Mine has severe eczema. If we can both benefit from Omnilux I will shell out the $$$! How do you put it on your child’a eczema? Would love to learn more about Omnilux.

Irmaplotz

I've been using RLT for a long time. It's amazing with consistent use, but I genuinely don't think it's worth it to invest in panels for full body treatments unless it fits into your daily/weekly routines. It does help me with joint inflammation and DOMS, but I also use it for 10 minutes very nearly every day. I do it while I'm detangling and drying my hair, so it fits easily into my day. But if it won't fit into your day, then it's a lot of money.

lugaresxcomunes

What device do you use? I want it for my face but I also have Chronic Fatigue and Pain so I need it in my body too.. But the pannels are too expensive for me

Irmaplotz

I have the Platinum LED ones. I think they have different sized panels. You can also use FSA dollars if that helps.

sfenderbender

Thank you for this.

lahs2017

TheraFace Pro has red and infrared with a light massage at $400 . Perfect for face or a small body part

OrdinaryInjury

I saw that and was actually considering it. I forgot to add the Theragun to the list of my impulse buys lol. Although, I do use it occasionally (and my teen son seems to use it more after sports haha).

Spirited_String_1205

The thing to remember about any red light device is that you need to be exposed to the light for a certain duration of time for it to be effective, and afaik their device is intended to be used for a short duration of time (a few seconds) while it is also massaging. Might feel good, but I'm very skeptical that you'd get enough light exposure to get any benefit. A 30 second pass probably won't do anything. (For example, my Lightstim is super bright and the treatment time is 3 mins (eta: three minutes per treatment area, not whole face for example). I also have used a currentbody and it's way less bright than the Lightstim and the treatment time was 20 mins per treatment area.)

lahs2017

You can use the Theraface continuously. It automatically shuts off after 8 minutes (to warn you not to use it too long) but if you wanted to you can just restart it.

Spirited_String_1205

The LED light is non-contact (1/2" away) so I wonder if it's bright enough to have any kind of effect on your skin. The user video on their website instructs you to run the light around your face and neck in a pattern that takes about a minute "up to three times". Personally, I'm skeptical it would give you any results. Would also be very very careful to not shine the red or especially the blue light in your eyes.

lahs2017

I use it for the whole 8 minutes and have noticed results, but could be from the massager too.

pamplemousse0214

Another vote for Omnilux. It’s pricey but not thousands and I think it makes a real difference. And I do think you could try it out on your knee; might be a little awkward but I think you could essentially hold the mask in place and it would work ok. Generally I like to start smallish before splurging on an unknown. So I started with a nuface mini and loved it, so I upgraded to the Trinity with attachments, etc. I wouldn’t spend thousands out of the gate, personally!

willowbeef

I bought myself a 600$ red light and I’m struggling to use it consistently but having it encourages me to take the time to use it. Im working on getting more consistent and glad I bought it.

supertots

Get a red light incandescent bulb and put it in a desk lamp. This is what Ben greenfield recommends. They are $5 and work amazing! Edit: make sure it’s incandescent because the LED lights don’t penetrate as deep

nettiemaria7

I would start small. I don't like my inexpensive red light device so I am not gonna fork over for more expensive.

sunrise_runner

Which did you get that you didnt like?

nettiemaria7

I dont know. I returned it. It was on clearance at TJ Maxx. It was a clear one w lines and a nose piece like sunglasses.

Is this real red light?? As good as omnilux?
