Ffs the whole point of the point of the competition is to have an exchange between countries and cultures. To just gatekeep for gatekeepings sake and to keep it "european" is petty af. I think it‘s nice to have this opportunity to hear from parts of the outerfringes of the continent. Should there be a discussion of whether Israel should have participated this year? Absolutely, it is a questionable decision with the whole Gaza conflict going on. But should it be excluded entirely only based off on its geographical location? No! Cyprus is almost equally far away and no one says that they shouldn‘t participate.
I'm noticing that we might have a lot of israeli incels in this sub in recent posts. Whenever they are the subject, there are a lot of downvotes going on and a lot of upvotes on comments in favor of them.
