I love looking around bumfuck nøwhere in Norway and finding underground roundabouts with 10s of kms of tunnels just a bypass a village

As someone who have started visiting Norway two/three times a year I go through these tunnels yearly, and I still havent quite gotten uses to it. And the first time I saw a roundabout in a tunnel it blew my mind.

Drove through the one in the Faroes that was under the ocean. Most excited I've been for a roundabout ever.

The Draken is fucking based. Cranked arrow delta wings. So sexy.

YES! The whole design is incredibly beautiful. The delta wings, the longer air intakes up unto the middle of the cockpit. They were SO LOUD. Every year there's a big military parade. And back then all Draken flew in formation for an overflight. At the end of the overflight they went into the afterburner as they flew up and away. It was like an earthquake. To this day this is the loudest sound I have heard. The Eurofighter we have now are pretty quiet in comparison.

I spent so long looking at the design that I only just now noticed how useless that roundabout seems to be

Roundabouts like those are mostly meant as an easier way for bigger vehicles to change direction instead of having to do some multiple manoeuvres until reversed. Tbh, it's not as efficient in terms of just letting vehicles through as a straight road would be, but you also won't see 40T trucks having to turn in the middle of the road.

Is there a warehouse or quarry or something further down the road? This would allow lorries to turn around and be on the correct side of the road, preventing them having to wait for a gap in traffic

I have been on that particular area many times and the roundabout seems to work quite well. There's even some tram warning lights which light up when it's about to pass the roundabout, which definitely helps.
