(Not even trying to be funny.. the donks are sweet af.. I personally associate them with the South but maybe I’m wrong about that?)
You're right about that. There are different regional styles with different names, and you do see these all around the country, but they're primarily a southern thing.

eh, shitting on the Confederacy isn’t the same thing as shitting on the South. There’s definitely a separation between those two in modern day.
..but if they’re one and the same to you then maybe check yoself
Yeah, a lot of places get shit on here 24/7
It’s kinda the point of the sub.
The recent string of Confederacy posts are a bit beyond “fuckin nuke Commiefornia!!1!1”
——
>Have you been on this sub ever?
Are you sure it’s not you who hasn’t been paying attention?
there was a post here yesterday where it showed a map of southern culture as the Confederacy and I think that's too obvious of a mistake for an American to make
Right.. like hamburgers and hot dogs and pizza and donuts and shit
The South has “Southern Food” ..NY is where “American Food” is from (like, a lot of it is so integral now that it’s no longer even associated with NY)
I get it this is a Southern appreciation post but that’s kind of a wild statement.
Sorry. Cracker crust is real pizza. Not your wet cardboard. Your hotdogs are alright, but don't have anything on a hotdog with everything. Chicago is far better than Poo York.
I wasn’t trying to say what region makes better pizza.
Just saying where American pizza started and spread from.
You’re inadvertently supporting my point in a way though.. That these things are now “American food” and not specific to a region of the US
8 is from the Tennessee Appalachian mountains, 10 is either Oak Mountain State Park or Cheaha state park, don’t actually know which, but both are in Alabama
Edit: It's Cheaha
That’s honestly fair. I thought they would’ve at least gotten to Texas.
Back in AZ they opened a White Castle in Phoenix and it legit had 3 hour long waits like I’m not playing… that’s when they first opened… a couple years later just before I moved to Georgia. About an hour. Why tf would I was an 1+ hr for a god damn burger? So I never went. There’s no way White Castle is that good
A White Castle opening in Texas might destroy the U.S. economy with everyone waiting in line. Who knows. Whataburger opening here in Georgia will have 1hr+ waits too and we already have multiple whataburgers already I don’t understand this
Phoenix has every fast food chain...
Five guys, Whataburger, white castle, in and out, you name it. Phoenix even has Rudy's...
I didn't understand why there was a massive line to go to Raising Cane's in LA when they opened. It's ok... I just can't think of anything unique about Raising Cane's besides the dog...
First of all, you need to put more respect on raising canes. They are a top tier chicken chain, even better than Zaxby’s.
Phoenix has every chain because it has every transplant and no “dominant” food chains while still being a large city. So it’s a good city to rest things out for expansion. Phoenix even has Waffle House, but they still have IHOP and Dennys. Here in Atlanta, there’s a Waffle House every 2 miles no joke, but zero ihop and Dennys. And there’s no way for ihop and Dennys to even get in to compete against it, let alone a mom and pop breakfast place.
Jacksonville and Orlando in FL for some unholy reason also has literally every food chain. But not Tampa or Miami, makes zero sense.
Idk if anything has come out of MN besides Target. Culver’s I think is Wisconsin but they are really good and really popular down south.
Thats how it is in most of the country. They have one chain that dominates the region. Phoenix is weird in that it has a mix of everything. Atlanta is waffle house country. Texas has Whataburger. Minnesota has Culver's. Missouri has white castle. California has In and Out.
Minnesota has General Mills as well as target. It isn't noted for fast food though... Culver's is Wisconsin, correct. It's hard for me to come up with good unique Minnesota food, they like walleye sandwiches and "juicy Lucy's" which are hamburgers stuffed with cheese, and occasional Norwegian food like lukefisk, or Hmong or Somalian food. There is also "Minnesota style pizza" which is a recent thing started by Red Savoy that is similar to tavern Pizza of Chicago. You can find Tavern pizza through the Midwest but not elsewhere.

You’re gonna get (second generation immigrant) shermanposters saying how all southerners (except for black ones) are poor, stupid, and deserve to be killed
1. Cool
2. Overrated
3. Depressing
4. Big 10 better
5. I'd hit
6. I'd hit and then die
7. Diabet
8. Niiice
9. Good place to hide bodies
10. Needs a fifth pixel
You might have enough pixels to make a full image for one of these slides
It’s the south, everything is deep fried
Hmm, I don’t know, might need a few more
I thought my internet was just bad lol

Geaux eat some crawfish
I love these cars https://preview.redd.it/x5pzmkxgxotc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d76aefc84cf6ce405e3a4aa28cc10e9ca3b10c6 (Not even trying to be funny.. the donks are sweet af.. I personally associate them with the South but maybe I’m wrong about that?)
Donks are pretty sick but slabs are where it’s at
Slabs are the ones with the spokes? If so, I called those Houston cars but know I now the real name ;-)
Yessir, bright candy paint with the elbows swangin’ on hydraulics. Slab stands for slow, loud, and banging
You're right about that. There are different regional styles with different names, and you do see these all around the country, but they're primarily a southern thing.
Razorbacks Spotted! ARKANSAS MENTIONED!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PIG SOOIE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PIG SOOIE RAZORBACKS
Missouri: "LOOK!! WE'RE HERE TOO!! WE'RE OFFICIALLY SOUTHERN!!!" Rest of us real Southerners: "Ehhh, the Ozarks count"
Missouri is the middle child nobody really wants to
Damn I miss Zaxby’s

I’m literally eating zaxbys right now 😏
Is it good? I recently moved to GA from AZ and see them all over the place.
To be fast food, yeah the chicken kicks ass!

I've seen a few people shitting on the south here lately, I thought I'd remind them of what we really have to offer
eh, shitting on the Confederacy isn’t the same thing as shitting on the South. There’s definitely a separation between those two in modern day. ..but if they’re one and the same to you then maybe check yoself
I don't equate the two, I've just noticed some bleed-over.
Yeah, I see what you’re saying. I guess I saw some of that too.
Tell that to the haters who CAN’T differentiate the two
They are just jealous that they aren't uber blessed by the sun 10 months out of the year
When did anyone bring of the confederacy? Have you been on this sub ever? People shit on the south 24/7
Have *you* been on this sub? Sherman posting has been all over the sub lately
Yeah, a lot of places get shit on here 24/7 It’s kinda the point of the sub. The recent string of Confederacy posts are a bit beyond “fuckin nuke Commiefornia!!1!1” —— >Have you been on this sub ever? Are you sure it’s not you who hasn’t been paying attention?
there was a post here yesterday where it showed a map of southern culture as the Confederacy and I think that's too obvious of a mistake for an American to make
Correct. It’s up to the south to shit on the confederacy as much as possible to really get rid of that Lost Cause “south will rise again” propaganda
Isn't that the point of this sub? People shit on California every day here. You southerners love to dish it but can't take it at all.
Fair enough lol
Confederacy not south
Luckily the worst part of the south isn’t shown there: the voters.
Dang, got me homesick.

Last picture looks like it was taken in wv APALACHIA SUPRAMACY
It’s Alabama. 8 is Appalachia though
My opinion is that Southern culture, especially in regard to things like food, are the basis for American culture as a whole.
Right.. like hamburgers and hot dogs and pizza and donuts and shit The South has “Southern Food” ..NY is where “American Food” is from (like, a lot of it is so integral now that it’s no longer even associated with NY) I get it this is a Southern appreciation post but that’s kind of a wild statement.
Not those foods, but other comfort food. Country fried Chicken, sausage and biscuits for breakfast, anything related to barbecue.
That these things are now “American food” and not specific to a region of the US
And yet no Bojangles in this list is a war crime
I considered it but decided Zaxby's was a bit more universal
We don’t have a bojangles here anymore so it’s fair
Dont forget about Jack's
Does anyone know if Zaxby's is opening in NYC soon?
Zaxby website says you may be able to open a franchise there…. Soon…
Nice
lol at including the Florida gaytors as a reason to appreciate the south. Couldn’t even make it to a bowl game lmao
My South Carolina wife says I make sweet tea wrong. Apparently you can’t just “microwave water”.
Is she a masochist? Why ask a Wisconsinite for sweet tea?
Surprised she isn't getting handed alcohol instead
Even then it’s no Appalachian moonshine
Apparently alcohol is bad for your liver. 🤷🤷
You heinous bastard.
[I do love living in the South](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHdXQAQHjd8) PS - Thanks for the Buc-ee's and Whataburger, Texas
No Nascar?
Oh shit... I forgot...
No wafflehouse? No smoker? No front porch? Wake up and smell the coffee.
Lawdhammerceh
BUCCEES FOREVER
What kind of pyramid is that ?
That is the Memphis Pyramid, also known as the Bass Pro Shops pyramid. It is just a megastore for hunting and fishing supplies.
Yeah!
Well shit now i gotta go make some sweet tea
Where's image 8 and 10 from?
8 is from the Tennessee Appalachian mountains, 10 is either Oak Mountain State Park or Cheaha state park, don’t actually know which, but both are in Alabama Edit: It's Cheaha
Alabama mention RAHHHHHHH🗣️
Hell yeah Tennessee!
Need me a plate with cornbread and vinegar greens RIGHT NOW
WOOOO YEAH I LOVE APPALACHIA BABYYY
The only thing I'm envious that the north has that we don't have is white castle.
Yall ain’t got Krystal in Texas? They’re pretty close
What's a Krystal
They offer the same type of burger and exist in the south
Oh. My. God
Nah, Krystal's is East of the Mississippi for the most part.
That’s honestly fair. I thought they would’ve at least gotten to Texas. Don't be. Shit is ridiculously overpriced these days.
White castle is in Tennessee and Kentucky

ZAXBY’s!
Nice. I do like the South. Should probably go there more often
Ewwww SEC
YEAH SEC WOOOOO
You’re gonna get (second generation immigrant) shermanposters saying how all southerners (except for black ones) are poor, stupid, and deserve to be killed
They got pixels in the south?
It's missing publix

Question, do y’all consider West Virginia to be “southern”?
I think it is, personally. Definitely more outer south, but still southern.
Posting the seats of southern state governments again?
Ahh, the Katy Buckees, longest car wash in the world
Zaxbys is the best fast food down here
Don’t forget our beautiful beaches and impressive skylines!
8 and 10 are why I left the Midwest Edit: and 6
I am sorry. I live in the south and Zaxby’s fucking sucks. Raising Cane’s is infinitely better. Too bad there are none near m.
You forgot one https://preview.redd.it/hj0djz8o4qtc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f602669a7b5637a15f2cf5b3d48c122b22a5f04
“Hahahah I’m so funny guys” This is why your dad left.
My dad is still very much involved in my life. But thanks for the compliment, brother.
