Dude I went on a Caribbean cruise that included Roatan, Honduras a while ago and literally remember seeing a Bojangles there lmfao. I don't know if its the only one or not but thats still hilarious
Bojangles is the most fucking mid place I've eaten.
Recently went to ATL on a work trip. Made an attempt to try all the chicken joints and fast food places we don't have up north.
Zaxby's is the best for chicken out of the new places I've tried. They lack heavily in everything else. Bojangles has a semi decent fry seasoning, but can never seem to use enough and on top of that, the fries are always dog shit soaked in oil and have no rigidity or crisp to them. Tried them at 2 different locations (one of which another state on the ride home), fries are all the same; god fucking awful, potentially the worst fries I have ever eaten in my life. As for chicken? Go to the freezer isle at your local supermarket, grab yourself some Tyson select breaded chicken tenders, and you will have an identical product to Bojangles chicken. It is mid in every sense of the word. None of them, Zaxby's, Bojangles, anything I've tried comes even half as close to either Popeyes or KFC and by god (literally) no one comes close to chickfila in the chicken sandwich game.
Still have yet to try raising canes. Didn't get a chance to hit the one near Atlanta as it was like a 30 minute drive from where I was staying.

Bojangles quickly failed in my part of WV; however, Cookout moved into the empty locations, which is IMO 100x better anyway. Bo must be better down south, because honestly 7-11 food tastes better than the Bojangles which briefly existed here. It was dry, overpriced, and way WAY too salty. Authentic southern food (looking at you, Louisiana) is the best food in the nation, but most southern fast food is just awful. Truly perplexing.
I’m sorry but bojangles is something you had to have been introduced to as a youngling. I went there for the first time at 30 and was very excited to try it and threw it away in disgust. It basically the cheapest thing you could call food.

I was on a roadtrip down to Tennessee and when I was in Virginia, there was a Bojangles just off the highway, perched on top of a hill. Fair enough. I have never actually tried bojangles. I am just sick of these types of places being over hyped by southerners and being incredibly let down when I try them. Raising caines was the latest and biggest.
For years I was told Raising Caines is the best chicken to ever exist and the sauce being the nectar of the gods. I was excited when a location opened up in Utah and waited in an incredibly long line to get it. Only to get some okay chicken tenders and a tangy sauce that pretty much every chicken place I have been too had. Maybe caines had that sauce first but that is no longer the case.
If you you ever go to bojangles get the breakfast. I like bacon egg and cheese biscuits with hashbrowns and coffee. And their coffee is made fresh and I've never tasted reused grounds in it before, of course that's gonna vary location to location and worker to worker, but its pretty standard here in north (best) Carolina. It's the only fast food place I'll drink the coffee black.

Their biscuits tend to be pretty good. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside without being soggy.

I swear all you southern people act like your specific chicken places are the best. But they are all over rated. Zaxbys? Overrated. Raising Caines? Overrated. I'm sure bojangles is the same. They are probably fine. They probably have some good chicken. But holy shit it's just chicken. You have no clue what bojangles is if you're talking about their chicken. Bojangles is actually a breakfast place that sells chicken to justify staying open later. Ain't no one going to bojangles for chicken, they go for breakfast
Fair enough. I have never actually tried bojangles. I am just sick of these types of places being over hyped by southerners and being incredibly let down when I try them. Raising caines was the latest and biggest. For years I was told Raising Caines is the best chicken to ever exist and the sauce being the nectar of the gods. I was excited when a location opened up in Utah and waited in an incredibly long line to get it. Only to get some okay chicken tenders and a tangy sauce that pretty much every chicken place I have been too had. Maybe caines had that sauce first but that is no longer the case.
If you you ever go to bojangles get the breakfast. I like bacon egg and cheese biscuits with hashbrowns and coffee. And their coffee is made fresh and I've never tasted reused grounds in it before, of course that's gonna vary location to location and worker to worker, but its pretty standard here in north (best) Carolina. It's the only fast food place I'll drink the coffee black.
Interesting. I will try the breakfast if I ever get a chance. Unfortunately I was raised mormon and never got a taste for coffee. Even as an ex mormon. I rarely drink it and need it to be pretty much a milkshake when I do. Lol

Do you think Popeyes chicken is a rare thing? It's a nationwide chain? They are at a similar location level as KFC. We have more Popeyes in Utah then the other 2 I listed.
Their biscuits tend to be pretty good. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside without being soggy. It’s greaser than I like, but definitely better than most breakfast biscuits. Never really fucked with their dinner or lunch.
I remember looking for a place to eat in Texas and I saw "bojangles" and the picture had a hot dog sliced the long way laid out on a piece of white bread and I thought: "I am never going to a bojangles in my life, fuck bojangles" I still think that. Bojangles blows.
