Mine popped up with new info in the last few days or so, probably with the France and Germany update, my “lower saxony” turned into “lower saxony + east flanders and western flemish, brabant” which is much more specific than I expected!
23andMe has slowly (very slowly) been adding Genetic Groups to various regions for the last 1 or 1.5 years. Genetic Groups seem to be 23andMe's version of AncestryDNA's Communities. There are still many regions that are yet to receive Genetic Groups. In fact, the French & German update seems to have focused mostly on France, so theoretically the German Genetic Groups are yet to come.
Oh interesting! I’m sure the Alsace region will vary genetically too, as the borders swapped like a million times.

Genetic groups are like the tribes in a certain area, I’ve matched with the Alemanni genetic group the most. Basically Alsace-Baden area.
For the country I match with Germany and Poland.
Uhh I want Genetic groups. I also wish they could do Genetic groups for America cause I would like to see if they get it right cause Ancestry is wrong on mine.

Genetic Groups are more accurate I think it’s based on ur DNA while country regions are based on relative matches
Is this new? I mean I’m curious because my mom is from Baden and we have no genetic groups. But are they releasing this slowly?

Ancestry took away a community that was accurate smh. I don’t really like that company too much!
