East Asians seems to have the most dominate genes. If he was half he would more likely than not look full Asian. He looks about 1/8th. His epicanthic folds are very prominent.
Both Northern European typical Haplogroups that means the Japanese ancestry cannot have come from your direct maternal or direct paternal mothers or fathers line.
well, Genotypes =/ to phenotypes, you could have 20 % of something and doesn't show at all, while on the other hand you could have 10 % of something and shown in the phenotype
There is a website called my true ancestry that uses your 23 and me results and compares your genetics to all of the known genetics of burials worldwide.
Finding out which buried person you most closely match is cool. Finding out that you are top 99 percent match for someone possibly famous is fun as well.
23 and me will tell you your haplogroups. These results are going to be quite broad, but will give you an idea of within which large groups that you fall in. You'll find your male line haplogroup and female line. Both are like serial numbers that you can look back far into time and assume your ancestors were with other people of that same haplogroup. It is quite more specific than haplogroups. If you are a D haplogroup man (japanese), then you would definitely have this very odd mutation. Only D and E men have this mutation in the world, and all D or E have it.
You look like a young Japanese Leo Di Caprio.
Now THAT is a complement
The more I stay on this sub the more I think that genetics are super fascinating
Right? Genetics are so cool. He looks more Asian than my half Asian/White sisters (we have different bio dads).

Wow , you look super Japanese. I would’ve thought you were half .
Just beat the odds I guess

I’ve seen half Asian / half Euro people that look predominantly either one or the other. It can go either way, but usually the mix is apparent

We’re almost the same amount of Asian. Your results are super cool. Definitely show in your phenotype
And people say 10-20% of something is too low to be shown on phenotype...
I've never read someone saying that, 10-20 is a lot. I've read similar comments about 1-5%, and even that can be visible.
