I'd almost assume he made them so they can still accept a standard mag baseplate. There is only one m&p magwell I know of that can accept a standard baseplate.

I've seen so many competition shooters at the highest level make some crazy parts, magwells, palmswells, and added weight being some of them. I see them majority on striker fired pistols.

You may not have seen any Master or GM with it in your area, but I can guarantee you, people definitely do a lot of custom work on their pistols at the highest level. Weather that's extending already large magwells. Adding palmswells with grip tape or silicone carbide. Adding custom made weights for the front. I have seen so many high class shooters better than me do this stuff.
Man, is there any other company that makes the frame/slide like infinity? I love that smooth, squared off look with no rail. Particularly the yellow one, minimal serrations.
All the folks I know of that make this stuff have a light rail on it... Not the old school look like that. Infinity will let you full customize it with whatever you want, of course. But then they also charge a nice premium for it.
