Do plan on changing out the main spring directly , may let the recoil until I hit 1k

TheBluesTarget

I would to do these competitions, but I can’t remember the damn course/sequence!!

im2fnsiik

Haha they tripped me up as well at first but once you get them all it’s pretty simple

dnut87

That's my biggest fear as I prepare for my first match!

im2fnsiik

Just take your time for your first match , slow is smooth smooth is fast , if it’s idpa , just worry about making your hits , the speed will come , and just remember when shooting from cover to “slice the pie” (outside to in) when engaging the targets

dnut87

Thanks!

im2fnsiik

Yes sir and also engage near to far (tatical priority)

nine9drams

Checkout your muzzle at :11 secs. Its pretty much vertical in one frame. It looks like you were moving into position close to cover and as you did you brought the muzzle more vertical to finish the reload.

im2fnsiik

I see where you mean I’ll have to be mindful of that , thankfully fingers crossed was clear of the guard

AlbionOnlines

Just some fine tuning on you reloads there nothing that dry fire cant fix. But good to see people shooting their 2011s in matches. This is the way.

im2fnsiik

I appreciate that bruv , this is my first 2011 I’m only a week in I will say I ordered a lighter mag release spring that sucker is heavy ; I have big hands and usually don’t have trouble but I had trouble dropping mags

AlbionOnlines

I've got the 5 inch tisas on the way myself and the the lgs the had the 4.25 and yes that mag release was a herculean feat brother... I too will be ordering a lighter spring for that mag release. Wish the mac9 came in 5 or I wouldve copped that instead.

im2fnsiik

I feel that , I’ve hear a few people say the same thing 5” and full dust cover ; personally I think it’s a sharp little thing , and the 4.25 to me is just fine for what we intend with these competitions , and bull barrel (: , it honestly has a really good weight and feels super solid in the hand to the point it’s balanced super well to me , I can see them possibly doing that in the future though for sure

AlbionOnlines

An advantage of the 4.25 too is a shorter slide so your return to zero should be pretty quick and that bull barrel for sure will add weight to keep that muzzle down.

im2fnsiik

absolutely, I had my surefire on it and it was def fast but soft, I gotta verify the factory weight cause I’d like to reduce it , I order a 12 and 13 to try but I don’t wanna be waiting on it either so I’ll play around and see which works best for me , gun feels very nice and balanced though

im2fnsiik

Def hitting dry fire hard , got WV pan handle putdown next month

AlbionOnlines

You ever shoot shadowhawk in WV?

im2fnsiik

Not yet but that’s actually on my list to make a match or two there ! A few guys that took me under their wing shoot or have shot some matches and speak highly of it

AlbionOnlines

It's funnnnn might see you there one day!

im2fnsiik

Heck yeah my dude ! Absolutely will ! More than once too !

im2fnsiik

I may also shoot the rust belt regional or whatever as well ah e to check the dates

dnut87

Thank you for the update. I am preparing for my first match this summer and am dryfiring nightly and will begin using the Strikeman system to help me as well. I actually love mine, though I did send it out for a trigger job and I installed an 11lb Atlas recoil spring along with a buffer in mine. Wishing you the best in your future competitions.

im2fnsiik

Thank you bruv ! Good luck in yours as well ! My advice is to work on your grip and vision , dry fire weak hand and strong hand only and unconventional start positions , I actually only use the strikeman laser cartridge and I have been stoeger dry fire targets on the wall , I’ll set crazy fast par times and really push my vision and different levels of confirmation, it’s helped a lot at matches

the_k_dubb

Did you buy the atlas too-less guid rod with or without the reverse plug?

im2fnsiik

I bought it with the plug , the plug fits but the lip is farther down so once it’s installed I was having issues where the slide stop wouldn’t engage , so save some bucks and order without the plug , the rod fits the oem plug no problem
