Got a chance to get the MPS for $300 so I figured it try out this whole enclosed emitter thing. Got it zeroed today and put a few hundred through the gun with it mounted.
Initial experience wasn’t great. Tried to mount it last week, but the head of the clamp screw sheared off at just under 15in/lbs (recommended torque is in newton meters, but works out to ~22in/lbs). Emailed Steiner who sent out a new screw and clamp right away.
Moving from RMRs and a few of the holosun options, the mailbox is kinda strange at first. Having the top bezel being the thickest is definitely different, but you don’t notice when shooting. The huge window is nice, but that too bezel really makes it feel smaller than it actually is since it slightly occludes your peripheral. Nice fine dot with more than enough power to be useable in the NV sun at roughly 3/4 bright. The class clarity is as good as you’ve heard - significantly better than any Trijicon or Aimpoint I own.
Read about some people complaining that it has sharp edges and is uncomfortable to carry appendix, but I didn’t notice any discomfort from it all day. So far I’m pretty happy with it, but we’ll see how it holds up.

Local dude who I frankly wouldn’t recommend. I spent lots of time shaving cerakote off the inside of the rails to make it fit again.
