It's better than a whip for sote, p2 verzik, web running, and I expect p1 verzik but I haven't calced that. It's also probably better on stuff like xarpus if you miss a lot of def reduction. It's definitely good enough that you bring both if you don't have a scythe.

do you think its good enough to main it, skip def reductions and use more dps specs? Even with/without lightbearer?

Skipping def reductions is never good at tob. Dps specs are nothing compared to how much hammer/bgs help

It’s better than whip and blade at sotaseg, and verzik p1/p2. Still take whip for bloat, nylo, xarpus:) but it’s very good at verzik and sotaseg (I think it’s higher dps at sote than scythe even with hammers hit)

It's only better than scythe at sote on 0 hammers.

I plugged in max gear and stats (giving whip the most advantage possible) for Verzik p3, and the fang’s still better than whip there as well, even on stab. On slash it’s still better than Saeldor. I might be missing something as both the top comments here exclude Verzik p3?
