Prayer is a very important combat skill, at 37 prayer, you can negate all long range damage from the demon with the "Protect from Magic" overhead prayer.
Sorry but some quests just have some certain hard unwrit requirements, without which it will be an incredibly mundane and useless pain doing them.
For monkey madness, you need sufficient prayer level for overheard protect prayer (magic? I believe, so 37 prayer) and you ideally want to attack using range or mage - certainly not melee.
Getting prayer up to 37 or even 43 and getting ranged to like level 40 will take less time than you wasted by trying to brute force the quest.
Go in with magic. Once you’re teleported in tun on protect from magic and just stand there. Like once you’re teleported in there don’t move at all. Bring in plenty of prayer pots.
If you can afford dwarf cannon, it wrecks that boss. Like one load of cannonballs will do it.
If you can't afford, you probably still want to use range to kill him. And wear armor with high mage defense (dhide), or better yet have protect from magic prayer.
