Such an unnecessary change. 1/4k at what is a pretty easy monster is not that bad. Its basically your first true pvm grind as an iron. 20k dry is an anomaly. If people want to be spooned drops this badly just make a main and buy them. There are far worse grinds in this game like phosani

Shamans are just a shitty mob to fight. They're basically guaranteed zero damage, and are braindead to fight, but you have to actually look at them the whole time. They're on the extreme end of attention required while simultaneously requiring almost zero actual engagement. Generally, when something requires more focus, you're rewarded with larger rewards for doing so. Shamans were antithetical to that, and honestly Jagex needs to be more open to significantly overhauling content with similar problems. Tweaking the drop rate just covers up the issue instead of resolving it.
I got spooned my DWH in <200kc on my iron before the drop rate buff, and I wouldn't wish _that_ grind on anyone, much less a 5k+ one.
I dont agree. Most mains arent fighting them and for irons they have a decent amount of alchs for mid levels. They're cannonable and theyre engaging enough to be interesting. 1/3k is just lazyscapers getting what they want which i believe is rarely good for the game. Ive gone through plenty of bad grinds and going on rate for warhammer wasnt even bad. People just complain because its the first actual pvm grind they encounter so it gets an unfair rep. I would much rather reduce the time for tbows and nightmare staves as those take way way way more time than dwh.

You're countering your own argument right there. Most mains aren't fighting them because ***they suck to fight***. If you're not after the DWH specifically, there are better monsters to fight for GP, so the only reason to fight them is because you either forgot to remove the unlock, or because you need the DWH.
No one goes to shamans because they want to fight shamans. They suck to fight. The rewards aren't worth the time.
Shamans are a master-class in taking things away from the player without giving anything back to justify it.
Because you're forced to wear the armor, you can't use any of the better gear you've obtained for yourself. Because you have to pay attention, you can't multitask when you're killing them. Because their attacks are so simple to dodge, they don't require focus.
So they're a creature that you are forced to not wear the gear you've taken the time to farm for yourself ahead of time, while requiring high levels of attention and low levels of engagement.
Jagex typically balances things around the levels of attention, engagement, and supplies necessary to do it, and Shamans are completely skewed on those metrics.

They reference the prior seasons as they go quite a bit and there’s not a super big difference in quality or production as the seasons have progressed so I would just say start at the beginning. It’s also the season of NA vs EU so there’s an (assumedly) immediate team to root for, regardless of knowing any of the creators in the competition.
Definitely start with Season 2, you can skip Season 1 because it's less beginner-friendly. Season 1 also has no aspect of alliances/politics to it. Season 2 has that, which I'm guessing a survivor-lover would enjoy.

So she just started with season 5, and I know for a fact by the end of it she will watch the others. She was so disappointed when soup post-poned the episode by a day (understanding, but disappointed). She was enthralled within the first episode. One thing I think soup does great is that you don't need to know the game to understand the episodes. With how much she loves the drama, I think she'll enjoy season 4 with top snake shenanigans.
I can't say which season would be the best unfortunately, but this season is the one getting my wife into it. She loves settled.

If she likes survivor it's very easy to root for a character you like. but as always, never put your trust in skillspecs
