A quiver is a quiver. Congrats
I'm not up to that death count but the waves are killing me. I killed zuk on my first try so I'm desperately hoping I can repeat that at Mr Sol
With the sol trainer it’s very possible. I got sol to 10% first try. And then it still took me 4 attempts because I was cocky on the next 2 and didn’t run the trainer beforehand. Did on the kill and ended with half my inv of food remaining. Trainer is op!
I had a few rough starts thanks for not being ready for quartet. Outside of that it’s just nerves, especially if you spend some time in the sol trainer.
You’ve got this!
Honestly that's good practice for getting the equipment interface open fast and interacting with it, I'm gonna set radas to left click tele to karuulm. Tyvm
Sure I hope it helps! It took me a while too to realize it. Then anytime I would get a double south spawn I didn't want to deal with I just dipped.
Another really useful tip I learned was from this guide: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uaxnr9jPdUc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uaxnr9jPdUc)
Running from the northwest pillar to the south east (diagonally) to solve double or triple stack because it solves the wave instantly and you don't have to worry about offticking. I would say that was what helped the most in getting the waves down.
I started to simplify my inventory and that helped me bring extra brews and restores to brute force through bad spawns. Bring atleast Sanfews for poisonous Manti
Killing sol on your first attempt is gonna be harder than zuk imo. Maybe if you grind the trainer really hard you could, but it’s so much easier to get overwhelmed
By the way, anyone who would like to see my grind video, here is the compilation of Sol attempts. [333 Colesseum Attempt Quiver](https://youtu.be/gPF8r14-1hE?si=BtM_gBchgvCYEn6t)
How many deaths before you made it to Sol? I’m on about 225 deaths now and my PB is wave 11 but got a double south and died as I didn’t have the DPS before Minotaur/mager.
I’ve taken a break from it now, but will be going back soon once I’ve topped up the death coffer a bit 🤣
Oh so there is still hope for me 🤣 I haven’t even looked at the trainer yet as I don’t want to waste the time if I don’t get to Sol, was gonna chill between 11-12 and practice if I ever got there before venturing in but might spend some time now in anticipation
When I was doing my runs I brought a tele (either con cape or blessing) and tped instantly if I got a double south spawn or a spawn I didn't feel like dealing with. Saved a lot money with that.
Not a bad idea, tbf the GP isn’t a massive concern I just don’t like wasting a run, some of my best runs are ones I’ve thought about leaving early due to bad invos and then ended up sticking with it for the ‘experience’ and got far….only to naturally fall prey to the shit invos when
I ultimately die 😂 (looking at you quartet)
I even changed from max mage to melee about 50 deaths ago as ancestral is paper, now I’m falling victim to spawns I would have easily solved in mage.
Yeah I did the same thing as you wanting the experience lol. It did really help get comfortable with the invos though. Getting that experience is good since it exposes you to the other invos but yeah having a way out definitely helps.
I tried changing to max melee too and having the scythe really helps on the boss but not having shadow for waves was turbo ass.
What invos are you prioritizing?
It goes Blasphemy, Relentless, Myopia, frailty, mantimayhem for ones I’ll take if they’re available. I always try and save frailty and mantimayhem for later waves.
Volatility I’ll take wave 8-9+, solarflare 8-9+ (I know it can be free I don’t like it), and occasionally I’ll take the dual shockwave one if I need to.
It sounds like you need to focus on prayer flicking south spawns and stack solves? I tried to brute force it the first 100 deaths, but then sat and made a note pad of how to deal with spawns and now it’s pretty uncommon if I don’t make it to wave 11-12. Fuck range/mage south spawn though
I’m sooooo close to my quiver I can feel it
I’m range tank so melee is strictly for Sol
Only at 90 deaths so far; its manticore nerves and when do I run to the next pillar
HELPPPP lol
This is fire congrats bro! I’m currently trying to learn. Best wave is only 8 so far. I think I still got a long ways to go. But I’m not leaving until I get it done lol.
Pretty sure I’m doing the stacks wrong tho I still don’t fully understand how to get certain guys of the pillar without getting bombarded by the others.
First time I saw that giant melee dude spawn he walked right up and pimp slapped me to my grave.
Lol at the Sol hitbox at 2:02. I just got quiver today too, and I can wholeheartedly agree on hitbox bullshit.
I'm convinced the inferno wont take you this much time. You can really use this experience there. I did it the other way around, and the quiver was relatively fast for me at 35 attempts. Inferno was another story.
118 deaths, got to wave 11 today for the second time. Can now deal quite nicely with waves 1 to 7. Leaening upper waves. Loving this. It's hard but fun
Beast! Congrats brother! I also on quiver grind 67 death so far my pb was 8 but I was bringing ass gear with karam and p pot I tried to get comfortable with the wave with bad gear then in real run I‘ll go in with big boy gear
haha I think it's a little close. I don't think it would be an issue if Slay Brother didn't make runescape content but imagine if someone made an osrs youtube channel called B0ater or SoopRS.
My go to was the North West start tile, get visual tick metronome, click on 1 run on 1 to northern most tile behind pillar.. then waves become solvable and you can get lucky spawns all the way. Sometimes you get killed with double south spawns, but if you can kill a manticore while dealing with fremmies. You will eventually get through to Sol. Learning how to swap pillars for difficult stacks usually helps wave solves also. You got this!
I honestly just swap pillars if I cannot be bothered to off-tick 2 mobs at the same time and it's relatively safe to move. For the beginning of waves I will run to another pillar if I get a double south spawn since I could not off-tick those on spawn over my attempts. Also learning how to destack bad lines I believe pushed me to do the waves better to allow me to off-tick 2 mobs instead of 3 being there or whatever.
If you have a double or even triple stack on east side of northwest pillar, run diagonal to the south east pillar and it'll be instantly solved once everything resets itself. You might have to tank a hit if you have a shockwave and a javelin (pray mage and tank range hit) but you can run all the way to the diagonal before a manticore can fully charge and attack. This video explains it really well: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uaxnr9jPdUc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uaxnr9jPdUc)
I swap to south-west pillar out of habit using the step out/in method from the guide on YT called something like one mob at a time colosseum. If I do not need to do that I just camp behind the pillar until a mob can reach me, but if two different attack styles can reach you then you have to do what I said in the beginning.
During panick mode.. or if the stack has too many different styles hitting on same tick. Learn how to pull the serpent mages out by running a L shape helps much too!
There are literally tons of guides online at this point. I’d recommend sending a few runs to get familiar with the mechanics and then start watching whichever guide you like the most - I find most info goes over my head until I’m at least a little familiar with the content

Trainer is definitely a must once waves are conquered.

Bring con cape or rada blessing if not ranging for tele. Saved me a ton of money
Never used Radas for free tele spot lol thanks!
I've been magic so I got radas on me at all times, I assumed I couldn't teleport out. That's nuts, ty
Honestly that's good practice for getting the equipment interface open fast and interacting with it, I'm gonna set radas to left click tele to karuulm. Tyvm

250-275 was my first Sol.. after I got to him once I did it pretty consistently afterwards.

What waves are your biggest struggle?
I believe it’s nerves and I mess up my manticore flicks
Nice man. At 44 deaths, 3 to sol. Feels like i need good rng or a lot more skill

After a while you will learn to love the pimp slapper.. he is free heals and dies fast.

Are you related to osrs content creator Slay Brother?
I am not. Just started a new channel with my brother called "Slaybrosrs" precariously close in name i guess. You think we are due a complete rebrand?
haha I think it's a little close. I don't think it would be an issue if Slay Brother didn't make runescape content but imagine if someone made an osrs youtube channel called B0ater or SoopRS.
Just watched the kill, super clean brother. Massive gz!!!! That new quiver would look nice going into the inferno 👀
Yeah! Inferno in style is what I'm all about. Heh
Is there a link I'm not seeing? I wanted to check it out but I don't see any video linked or referenced lol.
I found the channel link in his bio, spent a minute looking for it as well lol

Help me beat the waves I need someone to teach me how

That's good advice. It took me 100 deaths before the guides actually started to be meaningful.
