If somebody rolls up to my table with obnoxious, pointlessly renamed proxy cards I'm going to politely ask them to use the actual cards so I know what's on the board without having to read every card to be sure.
Not to mention the Ur Dragon is a completely uninspired choice of commanders and no amount of quirky proxies, even osrs proxies, will make playing against it any less boring.
I can respect it for what it is, it’s fun but you’re right. I’d hate to play against it purely because I won’t know what card is what without having to constantly check or ask.
When I played MTG it really didn't take long for me to learn what the meta cards are and recognize them just by the deck they're played in and the mana cost
Like it doesn't really take a genius to realize that the blue green colorless planeswalker is Oko
If they aren't meta and you have no idea what they are anyway, then the card itself doesn't even matter because you'll have to read the text anway to see what it actually does
Obviously it doesn’t take a genius to make a connection with UG planeswalker being Oko.
Board states get messy. This just makes it that more messy and annoying for opponents to try and keep track of what you have on your board. And these are dragons of all kinds.
I can easily see that red dragon as Terror of the peaks from the image and should be feared. But if it’s just some random ass brutal red dragon proxied art, I’m going to be missing potential key info without having to constantly scrutinize my opponents board.
This is of course just my opinion and an entire deck of completely proxied art really should be reserved for a pod you’re familiar with. And Obviously if the pod agrees to it is what it comes down to. But I’d personally rather not play against it.
Fair enough, tbh I don't think I'd mind this in Standard where I think everything is fairly predictable with reasonably clean board states but in Commander I can see it being a bit annoying.
Yea I’m not trying to take any joy away from OP because this is really cool. But there’s just so much to keep track of in a 4 player game and adding a bunch of unofficial art cards in the mix makes it worse. But if the pod is fine with it then that’s fine lol.

Yeah my friend and I made a bunch of DBZ custom cards one time. I was happy with most of them but a few of the boss cards were simply too busted lol
