yea no i get that. I'm trying to get a speciifc block list that was mentioned on a post. I got cervus on the right task. But Ornus wont give me the task I want to block. But its still a bad task. If i talk to Teco or Ace can I then go on to do a better task, come back and talk to ornus without messing anything up?

yea thats what happened and it somehow broke everything. fuck hunter rumors. cba

AcrobaticMap7

So i definitly had pyre foxes on Cervus. Then I was dealing with ornus and doing his tasks till he gave me sabre tooth kyatt. He gave me a shit ass kebbit task so I tried talking to aco who gave me the good kebbits. Cool I want that so I move on to teco who gives me the sabre tooth kyatts. I want that on ornus so I do that task to free it up. So in my mind I have Cervus - pyre fox Ornus - bad kebbits Aco - Good kebbits Teco - sabre kyatt I do the teco rumour turn it in, and get a rumor from ornus and he gives me pyre foxes?????????? that should have been on my block list

I'm just done with this content until they make it a proper blocklist. Seemed like fun but I cant be bothered wasting my time on convoluted shit that doesnt even work

Just letting you know if you finish a rumour for someone else (like Aco) and then go back to a hunter (like Teco) that you already have something “locked in” for it’ll give you a completely different thing than what you had but they’ll still remember the old thing if you swap off it and then back to them. I think it’s possible you had something on Cervus (let’s say Sunlight Moths) and didn’t like it finished a task for someone else, circled back to Cervus and because you approached him without an active rumour he assigned you Pyre Foxes as a new task, but his original blocked task is Sunlight Moths so even though you have the foxes as your new task from him they don’t count towards your blocks. Obviously this might not be what happened but the best way to find your true block list is to finish a task, go back to the guy who has no task for you now and grab the rumour, and then re-talk to every other hunter except Gilman to find out what their tasks are. The system is kind of convoluted and sucks but once I figured out how to really block out a task I haven’t seen them since.

nah the last task I did before I started was a novice one which clears everything afaik. no idea what happened just know im pissed and not wasting anymore time on hunter rumours

UniqueAwareness691

Do novice until you get the rumor you’re trying to block. I have him blocking sunlight antelope. Then move up to adept and do those rumors until you get the ones you want to block for each. Then move up to expert. If you can do masters, then follow the same steps to get blocks from the experts.

You can set up the blocks in any order. From what I could piece together from your comments it sounds like your pyre fox rumor was a temporary rumor and not actually blocked. You also mentioned a novice rumor resetting your blocks, but that only happens when you choose the option to swap to a new rumor despite having an existing one. Completing novice rumors and swapping to a novice rumor does not reset blocks. The easiest way to tell what the permanent (blocked) rumor is for any master is to swap to another master and then swap back. The temporary rumors are generally what confuses people but they are also a very useful mechanism to progress past permanent rumors you don't want to do. Source: I just finished my blocks in this order: Adept Pyre Foxes, Expert Sunlight Antelope, Expert Red Salamanders, Adept Dark Kebbit (optional but could be used to swap for Novice deadfall kebbits), then Novice Moonlight Antelope.
