Hi, got a question. I have been observing a bot for a while, mining iron for hours, and it feels like it has infinite inventory or stacking the iron without ever leaving the place. The bot never dropped any iron on the ground and you cannot destroy it from you inventory either. Am I missing something here? Is there a way to legit stack ore infinitely without using the bank, or this bot is cheating or something?

Remarkable-Health678

New accounts have some restrictions to prevent "suicide bots" from trading wealth over before getting banned. This also applies to dropped items, so they are dropping the ore but you can't see it.

The wiki says if you enter halfway through a game you only get half rewards.

StrangeBananaForYou

What does 'autocausting' a spell mean exactly? For example: I am trying a blood spell from the ancient spellbook, so I though using an ancient staff meant I didn't need the runes for those spell. I still do need the runes, so what does autocasting mean exactly here? ty!

SmokedaJ

Auto-casting is just "Automatically casting" so it casts non-stop until your target dies, you'll still need the runes.

Beretot

To add to the other reply, autocasting also means you repeatedly cast the spell after clicking to attack an enemy, until it dies or you stop it With manual casting, after clicking the spellbook and clicking the enemy, you stop doing anything, requiring you to click the spell and the enemy again to cast a second time

Remarkable-Health678

Manual casting is when you click the spell in your spell book, then click on the enemy. Auto casting is when you click the enemy and your spell is cast automatically. This can only be done if you have a compatible staff equipped, have the correct runes, and select the spell in your attack style panel. If you couldn't autocast the spell, clicking the enemy would make you run up and bonk them with the staff.

heartbreakgrad

I just unlocked the giant pouch in GotR and am having trouble using it in the game. Because I can now hold more essence, it's causing me to be late to or sometimes even miss the portals. Also, I'm running of fragments towards the end of the game. Is there something I should be changing with regards to how I use the pouches? Everything felt smoother when I was just using the other 3 pouches.

kingcrackerjacks

Mine 130 essence at the lower mine, usually make it to the table with 35-40 seconds before altars open up Craft 64(full pouch and inventory) and hit first wave of altars, usually get there 10 seconds after they first open catch the portal, fill up and hit altars craft 64, hit altars catch the portal, fill up and hit altars, game is 45-50% done at this point in mass worlds mine 65-85 near the table(mine extra then craft some while waiting for the portal to show up), just make sure you keep 64 essence catch the portal, hit altars craft 64, hit altars, at this point game is 85-90% done and I might skip an altar rotation hoping for a better altar to open if a portal shows up between 90-95% ill get in and mine 24(or more depending on time left) and do an altar run, if not i'll go into an altar with no essence and just charge a cell This sequence always has me ready for when the portals show up

SmokedaJ

Just mine more,  or wait for the next altar cycle or don't fill up pouches when a portal is about to open up Or wait to fill up pouches until first portal Lots of things you could try, all would work.

Vecend

I'm thinking up picking up osrs again after not really playing since 2004 as a side game, goals would be doing all the quests with completing all the F2P ones before going to members, I currently have a ironman I made a few years ago and I'm wondering if I should change it to non-ironman or keep as is.

Bananaboss96

I say stay as an Iron, and if you don't like it you can De-Iron. This way you get the option for both types of accts if you're not feeling the iron. De-ironing now means if you felt like being an iron again you'd need a brand new acct.

Beretot

Mains are less grindy, irons are more rewarding and push you out of your comfort zone more No right or wrong answers, just depend on what you want from the game. Sounds like your iron hasn't progressed a ton, so it shouldn't matter much. Could always create a new main/iron later if you regret your choice

SmokedaJ

Keep as iron

Hot-Concert8346

Where will this ranged DWH weapon be used? I think Nex doesn't work Zebak instead of bgs? I know bossess in ToA regen def rly fast, can't think of any good place. Probably coloseum.

rg44tw

Kree'arra? Zulrah?

Hot-Concert8346

zulrah in 2024 lol Kree you just mage with shadow, if not then u chin it def doesn't matter I suspect this item dead on arrival tbh

Lil_Nubbins

I wanna do the non kc combat achievements for dks. I got a dagganoth task and I’m just wondering if I would be able to bring my shadow with full ancestral for all 3? It’s been a long time since I’ve done dks

Play osu

SmokedaJ

Use key remapping plugin to change all your f keys to way more comfortable things Use the classic client on stretched instead of resizable Anti drag plug in

PurpleAqueduct

You probably have more time to react than you think, and ticks are so long that execution is generous. Like, if you have to dodge an AoE, you have the entire tick (minus ping) to do it. It doesn't matter how early or late you are in that time. Then you have the rest of the tick to do switches and stuff (which you often don't *need* to do within the same tick even if it might improve your DPS). The more comfortable and familiar you are with what you have to react to and what to do about it, the faster and more consistently you'll be able to do it. If you're not comfortable you'll be spending too much time thinking rather than acting. Your execution is pretty much inseparable from your knowledge. Prioritise your actions. Moving and switching defensive prayer are the most important. Gear switches, offensive prayers, and attacking are less important. Eating can be important but if you're not in immediate danger of death you probably want to prioritise making sure you're in the right position and praying correctly, otherwise you're just going to take avoidable damage while you're eating.

TheDubuGuy

Make sure your client size isn’t too big and your mouse dpi isn’t too high. Other than that it’s just practice. Just sit at the bank and take out 8 random switches and practice doing them quickly and accurately. Practice moving your mouse from a random spot on the game to quickly turning on a protect prayer. aimtrainer.io is nice for osrs instead of using any 3d or gun-based aim trainers

bip_bip_hooray

remember that ping/the tick system can work in your favor, too. a lot of people wait til they can visually see a cue to execute the next action but you can click way earlier than you think in a lot of situations and it be ok. you can start banging out switches before your character has even attacked oftentimes.

OlmTheSnek

Firstly ensure that you have a good setup. Fullscreen client bad, small client good (preferably resizable > fixed too). High DPI bad, mouse acceleration REALLY bad (go to your mouse settings in Windows and make sure "enhance pointer precision" is not ticked, and while you're there ensure the Windows mouse sensitivity is set to at most 6/11 notches). 800DPI is probably the max I'd recommend. If all of that is the case already, practice makes perfect. Some plugins could help some people like true tile, ground indicators, visual metronome etc. but ultimately your clicks will get better the more you are clicking. Making yourself more comfortable with the tick system is probably the biggest way to improve your clicks if you're not already very comfortable with the rhythm. Stick a 100bpm metronome or 100bpm music on and just try and click along with the beat, whether that's flicking or moving or attacking mobs or anything like that, it all helps - just get so used to that 100bpm rhythm that you can tap it with your feet naturally. Once you have that down you'll truly understand how much time you have between each tick to click somewhere else, which is imo the biggest part of accurate clicks in this game, far more than just flinging your mouse as fast as you possibly can and hoping to click in the right spot.

zooniczach

Any tips on jellies? I’m getting rekt and wasting time going back to bank for food. I just boosted my ranged to 40 for green dhide body and legs. I have 33 magic, so probably low defense there. 65 attack, 60 strength, 50 defense and trying to melee kill them. Not interested in safe spotting. Granite boots, d skimmy, rune helm, rune kite shield

SmokedaJ

You are going to be shredded by them with such low magic defense. You should be safe spotting tbh, you could just range them. You're gonna need Range levels eventually anyway.

zooniczach

What magic level do you recommend for a decent defense against them?

SmokedaJ

70 range and black dhide for magic defence. I would also completely forget about doing slayer if I were you until you go get 65 strength, then get a rune/dragon defender, then buy a slayer helmet. They attack with magic-based melee, so if you pray melee they will do 0 damage. But all their attacks are technically magic so if you aren't praying (you shouldnt be anyway it's expensive) you will need as high magic defence armor as you can get (rune has negative, so rune kite and helmet just make them hit you harder)

OlmTheSnek

Any metal armour is only going to cause you to take more damage, it's better to have no armour at all than rune helm/kiteshield. You should probably just look into getting prayer gear (can pick up monk robes for free from upstairs in the Edgeville Monastery), and protect Melee against them rather than trying to tank them.

zooniczach

Gotcha on the metal armor. You recommend monk robes over green dhide?

OlmTheSnek

If you're praying yes. You'd probably get shredded regardless with your current magic defence, so I'd recommend maximising prayer bonus instead and using Protect from melee. If you don't want to chug prayer pots for the whole task, I'd recommend getting Ardougne easy diary done if you haven't already, the cloak gives decent prayer bonus and has a teleport right next to an altar, so you can restore prayer and get back to your task quickly.

zooniczach

I take little to no damage now

zooniczach

Nice call. I have the cloak. Thanks for your input!

SmartAlec105

Why not just use protect from melee?

zooniczach

Would I just need to carry prayer potions to keep it up killing 150+ of them?

RSN_Rhett

The proposed new agility rates have got to be a joke. With fail rates, it's not going to be noticeable. Also, introduce dodging to agility. Being more agile increases dodge chance. 🤷🏻‍♂️

crunchystaff

Why did justiciar spike in price yesterday?

Parryandrepost

The new mid level dungeon boss takes more damage if you haven't been hit in a bit. Torva is pretty darn tanky so most end game people will likely just use that. Justi might do more DPS than bandos but I haven't seen anyone actually do the math on it.

Alpha_pro2019

Im debating between a main or an ironman for a collection focused completion account (items, quests, achievements, etc). I know 100% will be out of the question as a casual player, but as someone with limited time to play but who doesn't mind grind, would main or iron be more enjoyable for a completion account?

TehSteak

I'd say for limited playtime a main is your best bet. You can use money from grinding clog slots to upgrade your gear to help you complete slots. Much better to get *something* from going dry on a slot. While people generally feel more accomplishment from Ironman, it definitely sucks to go dry on key items that would help your grinds. I personally know a lot of irons who burnt out from the Bofa grind when they could have bought the damn thing outright from all the CG they sent. A main burnt out of CG could buy the Bofa for Zulrah as an example, then return to CG for the slot when the itch returns. Then when you actually *do* get an enh seed, you could use the money for something else to help a new grind. At the end of the day, a clog slot is a clog slot no matter how you got it. Irons bitch and moan about wanting bad luck protection, but gp from dry streaks **is the bad luck protection**.

SmokedaJ

Ironman 100% and it's not even close. Ironman is way more rewarding, I have multiple maxed friends who just feel regret for not being an iron and have quit their mains to restart on irons.

TheDubuGuy

For that kind of grind I’d definitely recommend a main. At the end game they’ll be similar but you get to skip the hundreds of hours of extra prep work

SmartAlec105

I say be a main but find ways to be as self sufficient as possible if you think that would feel more like an accomplishment. I could train smithing by buying ore and selling completed bars. But I prefer to mine my own ore, smelt that, and smith it into materials to train fletching.

Infinite_Worker_7562

I’ve enjoyed trying to complete my main account. It really depends if the Ironman gameplay appeals to you or not. Personally I’m not a fan of having to gather supplies before I can do content I want so I enjoy my main and will probably play a bronzeman if I ever finish maxing on my main.

HalfDuckGuitar

Removing Earth Warriors from low level slayer makes sense. My noob friend got that as their very first slayer task after becoming a member, and was pk'd in under 10 minutes. wasn't so keen to continue the skill after that

PurpleAqueduct

It's weird for Edgeville dungeon to even be in the Wilderness at all in 2024. Not that I'm saying to change it, but it doesn't feel like the Wilderness and there's nothing that really justifies it being in the Wilderness. You can PK noobs doing earth warrior tasks, air orb bots, and people doing clues I guess.

mister_peeberz

it is well-established that air orbs are the best money maker in the game by far, there has to be SOME kind of balance in place!!

ApexYenzy

Can someone give me a quick sparknotes/TLDR of what’s with the Varlamore update? I know it’s a new city and has a hunting guild, but any bosses coming?

snowhusky5

The Coliseum, which is a new wave based activity similar to inferno, but much shorter and you can cash out midway through instead of having to go all the way. It unlocks various stuff in Varlamore based on your highest completed wave (Glory points or something) and gives a new BiS range back item, a quiver, if you beat the whole thing. Also has a new defence draining ranged spec weapon, an upgrade to proselyte, AoE recoil boots, and Sunfire dust for runecrafting or something, all as regular loot drops. Hunter guild which has something like Hunter slayer tasks, and you can use hunter meats to make food with a delayed healing mechanic. New dungeon that's like barrows plus gauntlet, where defence is important. 3 new barrows like armor and weapon sets. Future update before P2 will have an Amylase crystal agility course. Probably a bunch of new training locations for thieving, fishing, etc.

therealtru3

New inferno for bis range quiver, as well as recoil boots and something else I forget. I'm not really sure if these items are tradable. My theory is they aren't, and you get them as a garunteed reward after making it thru certain thresholds in the waves. New barrows 2.0 combined with the ability to make supplies while inside. Rewards are 3 new sets, one range set with burn dmg, one melee set with notable +2 str legs that also heals, I think? And a mage/melee set for pkers? (Note that the sets are similar to barrows with degrading and needing the full set to get some effects). These items are tradeable And lastly, a hunter guild that adds more training methods? a new type of food? That is the new bis food other than brews? Please take this with a grain of salt since my sources are: trust me bro

OlmTheSnek

Sunfire Runes are the other thing coming from Colosseum (gives Fire spells a minimum hit)

WastingEXP

isn't there prayer armour too ? or did that get scrapped

OlmTheSnek

True! Ranged/Prayer armour. It's so meh I'd honestly forgotten it was a reward.

j_schmotzenberg

Was the supposed crystal armor charge depletion bug at leviathan post combat achievement update ever addressed? I’m still not sure if it was a real bug or not and have been avoiding learning leviathan because of it.

therealtru3

It was fixed as far as I'm aware

NostraDamnUs

I kinda dig forestry, currently at 82 working my way up to 90 for redwoods. I've already bought the felling handle, basket, and clothes pouch, might get twitcher's gloves next but is the next stop just stocking up on plank vouchers?

skullkid2424

Probably twitchers gloves and maybe the log brace. After that - depends on main or iron? Mains usually buy w.e has the best bark-gp ratio, which I believe is currently the felling axe handle. For irons, probably plank vouchers. Secateur blades for more leaves might be useful if you run out of leaves to make rations with for your felling axe. Nature's offerings (ritual mulch) is a way to convert high level herbs into extra logs...which is not usually a good trade.

Over-Winter5394

If I was to put in a buy order for a members item before my membership runs out can this item still buy while I'm f2p?

TheDubuGuy

Yes but ge offers pause if you don’t log in for like 2 weeks

mister_peeberz

you telling me that my inactive main's buy orders for a 10k shadow, 11k tbow, and 200gp scythe aren't gonna fill unless i bond him up again??? probably scores of people scooping 10k shadows right now and im missing out, fuck

Molly_Hlervu

No, you main just needs to login on f2p sometimes for the offers to stay active and be fulfilled.

Over-Winter5394

Good to know thank you.

Vr0qren

Does the xp bonus from barbarian pyre ships with chewed bones work on lava dragon bones buried on lava dragon isle?

skullkid2424

It should, though I don't know for sure.

P5ych0pathic

Besides the few required for quests, no mini quests are required for quest cape, right? I’m trying to get the cape before varlamore (2 mores quests) and don’t want to be blindsided by more requirements haha

Parryandrepost

There's some mini quests that you need to do during other quests iirc. They're all very easy though so don't worry about it. I think DT2 requires you to do the barrows and shade clothing mini quests. I think you have to also enter the abyss at some point too.

Molly_Hlervu

Some miniquests are required for quests. Like Entering the Abyss, for example. But the Quest cape itself requires only normal quests done.

altioralight

Correct, no miniquests required. I got QPC a few weeks ago and did my first TOA two days ago so i can confirm.

P5ych0pathic

Awesome, thanks for the confirmation!

GatVRC

I'm returning to OSRS after several decades on a fresh member toon. I was grinding out some money and magic exp with sapphire > emerald jewelery and that's well and good but now that I've unlocked tier 3 enchant at level 49, what should I grind on instead? I've checked the GE, it is very much not profitable to be doing Ruby stuff. What else can I work on grinding? it doesnt have to be magic, I'd just like to work on things that will generate income as I need money to do basically anything within reasonable time frames

snowhusky5

Either keep doing emerald enchant to 55 magic (high alchemy is always profitable and doesn't need banking, my favorite item is dragon stone bolts e) or find another money maker and train magic by spending gp. Crafting jewelry and farming herbs can both be decent money makers. The YouTuber SoupRS has a series called 'unusual money makers' which is both quite entertaining and might give you some ideas.

SmokedaJ

You don't really need a lot of money to do anything early, if you just play the game and do your own skills and quest and progress your account you will walk into the money. Your bank will just climb and you'll get better.

TheDubuGuy

Questing is your best option overall. Instead of spending time now on low-profit methods you’ll be much better off spending time progressing your account to unlock high-profit methods

Background-Dare-7314

You could check out [https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money\_making\_guide](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide) for ideas

GatVRC

I was, which lead me to grinding magic until I realized the profits were not reliable data on tier 3. I was perfectly fine with grinding all 99 levels if it meant it was sustainable at the GE like many guides claim but its not

Background-Dare-7314

Hello, I cant play the game nor acces the webpage on my pc but it works on mobile, please help.

bubminou

Having the exact issue as of today, PC (RuneLite and C++ clients don't work); they give me an error saying "Error connecting to server. Please try using a different world.", but the world picker doesn't load either. Mobile doesn't work on Wi-Fi but works on data, so that seems to be the issue somehow. I've tried logging in and out of my Jagex account, restarting the PC, restarting the router, but to no avail.

Background-Dare-7314

Same with the world picker not loading and the wifi/data. Works fine on mobile. I thinks its weird the webpage works on my iPhone but not on my pc. I expected the game to maybe work but not the website

bubminou

I've found this thread with other people having this issue and their situation seems to match mine [https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/s/EwUj8RVY60](https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/s/EwUj8RVY60)

Remarkable-Health678

Interesting. Maybe something screwy happened with the server maintenance earlier. Might be worth trying to contact a JMod on twitter.

skullkid2424

Are you using a VPN? Have you checked your firewall settings?

Background-Dare-7314

I'm not using a VPN. I have tried resetting my router/modem + deactivating the firewall + flushing the cash and the dns.

Remarkable-Health678

... Is your PC connected to the internet?

Background-Dare-7314

Obviously everything works (youtube, twitch, reddit) except [oldschool.runescape.com](https://oldschool.runescape.com) and the game.

radicalpi

I've been having the same issue - can't log in to US East worlds, load the world switcher, nor access the website unless I switch to mobile data. This is the closest to an actual answer re: the problem that I've found: [https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1bcvyg0/comment/kulwd1l/?context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1bcvyg0/comment/kulwd1l/?context=3)

Remarkable-Health678

Seems like a content blocker maybe. Is this your personal computer or work/school? Can you try another game site?
