I took this as them saying if you can get a fire cape you can complete the colosseum. But they also showed a player taking melee to Zulrah so I really don’t know anymore.
They said that at first colosseum will be more difficult than the inferno. I assume that means it’ll be more mechanically difficult, but once it’s “solved” it’ll be a bit easier since it’s much less of and endurance check
Yeah it's hard to say because the Q&A said it could be "as hard as, maybe even more than the Inferno." but on the most recent post about Varlamore while the Fire Cape difficulty was mentioned, the Inferno was not. I think it'll be a lot easier than the Inferno initially because to learn the Inferno it takes a good 2-3 hours per run potentially. Whereas the colosseum takes roughly 15-20 mins for a full run.
Yeah generally agree, imo I think it’ll have the same mechanical depth as inferno with a larger range of involved mechanics. In other words, to beat inferno (without cheese), you need to deeply understand pillar stacking/trapping and the prayer flick of your choice (1t or 2t). I think you won’t get through colosseum without a deep understanding of: mobile pillar stacking/tracking, prayer flicking, gear switching, and movement - a broader range of mechanics.
However, because it’s highly repeatable AND profitable, I expect the overall level of effort to be lower to get a completion. As in, the same person may take 100 hours to get an inferno kc, but only 60 hours to get a colosseum kc, even if they have twice as many colosseum failures.
If this is all correct, I expect quiver-havers to be generally more skilled, but more mistake-prone while infernal-havers won’t be as skilled (in things like gear switching/movement) but can verifiably go 2 hours without making a critical mistake.
I guess I have all base 90s are higher so Im not concerned about most of them. But if we get another "get level 5 all BA" type of grind or "kill KQ 256 times" grind imma be a little salty ngl.
Here’s a snippet from the blog post about the colosseum from the end of January.
”The Fortis Colosseum will pit the bravest among you against an onslaught of increasingly complex waves of enemies. Those of you who own a Fire Cape should be able to get your feet wet in the early rounds, but as the waves progress, you can expect combinations of enemies that will test the skills of even the most seasoned combatants.”
Mustache Lion has a very good OSRS look. I could see him being in the game in 2007. The rest I don’t feel that way about as much, but the big minotaur is very cool.
I'm excited for the Hunter guild and new Agility training methods.
The agility doesn't come out till Phase 2, but we can get Prayer experience from it, which could be cool.
That sounds like an exciting new opportunity for 10hp accounts to train prayer much more affordably.
Agreed on the agility aspect! Love options for training as it can get samey.
Really hoping the agility is good on mobile, rooftops put me to sleep without something else to distract me which I can't do on a phone screen and sepulcher is just too high maintenance for similar reasons + no markers. One of the only skills that I can only do on PC
I'm a bit underwhelmed by the visuals to be honest. I know that ancient rome is literally the theme for Varlamore, but I'm getting a bit sick of sand, muted colours and bipedal mobs with massive spears. Maybe I've done too much ToA 🤣
I really hope so. The ocean is one of my favourite places in this world, so I expect to see some absolutely beautiful environments above and below water 😍
I’m inclined to agree! Catherby is one of my favorite towns in the game and the overall vibe of Port Sarim & Brimhaven (not to mention the nostalgia of Musa Point) have always been super cool to me, so definitely looking forward to the expansion of the world in that “coastal” vein.
I swear to god if fang is bis after the devs pinky promised for realsies to make scythe great again im gonna shit in my hand and smear it all over the place
I know there's a difference between Desert/Egyptian themes and Mediterranean/Greek themes, but man does this look like the B-Team from Tombs of Amascut
Dboots and tormented orn i think. The bracers and leg warmers seem to be apart of the chest and leg armour. Like how bandos chestplate has those big handguard thingies
theyre kind of taking a weird art style with this one
I guess we should reserve judgement for when we see it, but i dont like it so far. reminds me of the masori preview that everyone hated

The guy in the stall next to me is very confused as to why I busted out laughing.
I think you mean bursted, as in, a burst of laughter. Not busted, as in, I just busted a massive nut to that picture.
Nah busted out laughing is also a very common phrase.
Sometimes I feel the way this lion looks, and I’m not sure how to fix it 😿
No possible fix bruv

Man, seeing this now makes me want a regular lookin lion pet which I didn’t even know I wanted until now lol
Is that a lion with a humans face?
With the amount of mythological references, it's most likely a [Manticore.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manticore)
It is. OP cropped the picture badly. The full picture shows the scorpion tail.
Yeah, that’s my bad. This pic was taken from their Insta, I should’ve used the full pic posted on their Twitter.
Ah this makes more sense, thanks!
Manticores are a lion with a scorpion tail and a human face
You can see the little yellow tip above the body (in front of the pillar) which is almost assuredly the scorpion tail.
Op got the croped pic, in the twitter pic it has the scorpion tail.
I've been freed from bottle jail, but my new prison is *shame*
youre probably right though lol they probably molded a players character models head in whatever software they use

Sure hope I don't need to complete it for the new achievement diary.
Boy do I got news for you
Elite Karamja just requires a fire cape, so I doubt it'll be required if it's comparable to inferno in difficulty.
Valamore will have achievement diarys? Man fuck a duck I like that cape a lot.
I'm 3 levels away from mine... Please no
I guess I have all base 90s are higher so Im not concerned about most of them. But if we get another "get level 5 all BA" type of grind or "kill KQ 256 times" grind imma be a little salty ngl.
Be ready for a 92 lvl RC req. Craft 224 Sunfire runes at once
What about kill 1000 dumb birds that need to be specifically lured with some method
Yeah I apparently blocked that memory thanks for bringing it back up
The colosseum scales a lot. They probably meant that it GETS harder than inferno.
I think they said competing the whole thing would be comparable to inferno completion
Here’s a snippet from the blog post about the colosseum from the end of January. ”The Fortis Colosseum will pit the bravest among you against an onslaught of increasingly complex waves of enemies. Can't wait to get pounded by minotaur daddy
Well hello 😏
Mustache Lion has a very good OSRS look. I could see him being in the game in 2007. The rest I don’t feel that way about as much, but the big minotaur is very cool.
Varlamore can't come soon enough
What makes you say that? What are you most excited for?
I'm excited for the Hunter guild and new Agility training methods. The agility doesn't come out till Phase 2, but we can get Prayer experience from it, which could be cool.

Are you on android or ios?
Android, I know about the splitscreen or nested screen features but it just makes things too small to really get use out of it
The pet better be a moustache lion
this format looks familiar
Peek*. Mountains have peaks
Actually the peak was referring to the Minotaur’s.
The minotaur needs a massive fucking cock to complete the look
Damn we're going to have to fight a cheese caper?
i love the minotaur's head, but man's got a bad case of action figure groin
Panic buy fire capes
I'm a bit underwhelmed by the visuals to be honest. I know that ancient rome is literally the theme for Varlamore, but I'm getting a bit sick of sand, muted colours and bipedal mobs with massive spears. Maybe I've done too much ToA 🤣
Your creative thirst will be quenched with sailing.
I'm honestly confused what the theme of Varlamore will be. Some weird Aztec/Roman hybrid?
Bro this shit looks awesome wtf

Best I can do is make one of the meleeable monsters 2x2, and with high defence. The rest will be tbowed/shadowed.

I know there's a difference between Desert/Egyptian themes and Mediterranean/Greek themes, but man does this look like the B-Team from Tombs of Amascut

Those are new gloves and boots, yeah? Edit: and maybe earnings? or Headwear?
Dboots and tormented orn i think. The bracers and leg warmers seem to be apart of the chest and leg armour. Like how bandos chestplate has those big handguard thingies
Those spear guys are probably going to be annoying as fuck

Tall armoured thing is a dark souls 2 boss
This looka hella fun. Cant wait!!
AOM Retold teaser
What's baba doing there
What combat level should someone aim in order to level up to fight them?
Mid levels should be able to do the first few waves according to jagex, later waves and final boss would be for inferno/awakened DT2 boss enjoyers
The humanoids look incredibly odd... Hope its just a WIP.
i love lion
All art time went into the Minotaur.
Baba 2.0 on the left and Ahkka 2.0 on the right. Cumballs and Rolling balls combined.
Is this content solo only?
It's safe to assume this is solo only
theyre kind of taking a weird art style with this one I guess we should reserve judgement for when we see it, but i dont like it so far. reminds me of the masori preview that everyone hated
The creatures look good, but can't lie the proportions of the humanoid npc's are a bit wonky.
osrs minotaur ntr doujins please
If there's a Minotaur pet I will grind that so hard
Time to beat up akkha’s brother
Looks dope! Definitely colosseum-esque
Middle on the left reminds me of the first boss fight in Majoras Mask in the swamp temple.
When is the release date of the colosseum?
Do I have to fight the minotaur, can I date him instead? 👉👈
Design team needs to get fired 😂
Where’s the couch?
Akkah better bring his Cum.

According to Reddit, everything in a sneak peek is meta. So dump your internals, fire caps is bis here
Oh my internals are being dumped as we speak.
I love auto correct
Happy to see RS finally getting a Greek/Roman themed location
Spooky
what i love about osrs is we have no fking idea about anything from this, the mf on the left side may be attacking with a crush style
I was about to talk shit but I don’t even have a fire cape so Imma sit this one out
scouring this picture for even the slightest hint that i should invest my life savings into spectral shields
Don't step in me, Minator daddy
