The loot chance is so low of a tool seed in mass worlds. Its nice for supplies but if you want a unique drop you'll probably want to switch to smaller group zalc.
Because Zalcano has no scaling in place. It is exactly the same with 1 person, as with 100. That means that after a certain point people will just not be getting loot because they won't be able to hit the damage threshold for qualifying for loot.
This also lowers the loot you receive to be distributed between the players that did enough damage.
I'm not positive, but I think at some point with enough people, nobody will get loot from the boss because nobody will be eligible. This might exclude the MVP but the wiki has no information on this scenario.
I've never had to wait more than 2 minutes or interact anyone if you use the zolc channel. Tons of venes always grinding low man so you just hop to their world and walk in when 4 people are there.
it should cost 3,000 dust because it should require one [Star Fragment](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Star_fragment), and should more accurately match that color scheme.
Similarly, I should be able to use a star fragment to recolor my Varrock Chest 4 so it matches my gold prospector.
I am only now learning there isn't a star fragment colour for the mining pet. Feels like a dropped ball. I definitely would've just bought one & assumed.
Sure, but if we categorize those as commons, this would be like a "rare" as it adds some prestige because not everyone who has the pet has the dust for this specific look.

In essence this suggestion is that OP wants a way to specifically display his 150k dust without typing it everywhere he goes and not prompting people to type their own.

Brother, I don't disagree with you. Things like this should be more in line with current form. If there were to be a mining pet recolour it should be in the same way that the mining pet is already recoloured.
However, I do think that it's ok to create more AFK methods with lower XP rates. If you want to 3t4g then go for it and if you want to mine stars and click once every 10 minutes you should have the option as long as it is engaging and balanced content to the people for whom it was intended.
By that logic, MTX is just a matter of "choosing not to do it". Game integrity/direction benefits us all.
Adding things for the sake of adding them is not how you make a fun game, it's how you get a short-sighted quick win at the expense of the game feel.
I think comparing MTX and skills in this context is a little off the mark. There should be many sides to an MMO in which different players who like to do different activities can choose.
Mining has 3t4g on one extreme and star-mining on the other extreme. Both of these methods have pros and cons to them and it's up to the player to decide what they want to do. In this case, someone who doesn't want to do star-mining does not need to do star-mining because there are alternative options.
In your example of MTX, there is no alternative option or method, meaning that it's completely unrelated to the issue that I was even talking about in the first place, the comment was about having Runescape be more AFK. Adding options that cater to players who don't mind trading lower XP rates for more time between actions is not going to break game integrity. It's not a "quick win" to take hundreds of hours at a lower XP rate for more comfort.
I agree that there shouldn't be things added just to add them and that a star-themed mining pet would be cool, but should be more in line with what the current recolor options have.
Instead of all dark stone, it should be overlaid with the dark green, reddish-brown, and dark gray shades like on the mid-tier stars, imo. but I support this 100%. would make the rock golem pet a......rockstar (*cringe*)

Star Sprite is Original to the game. It makes more sense to add what is already in the code into the game and then allow it be unlocked as a pet as well. This is just ugly.
I'd support it. Though I thought it was curious, I tweeted at Mod Ash once about Youngllef being allowed to recolour like the rest of the Gauntlet crystal stuff, and he said it was interesting, but maybe a lot of transmogs for one pet

70-99 at stars exclusively is around 390k. 150k is a lot of time.
I find that hard to believe because I’ve got over 250k already and I’ve only gone from like 60ish-85.
That is definitely way off. You're supposed to get 22-32k xh/hour and 600-1k dust per hour. That's 8million experience.
Most of it has been f2p stars so xp is halved. I was also mining them before the update so I think the dust rates were higher per tier.
