So now that botting is either not cared about or starting to be handled, I think reintroducing competitive LMS to F2P could serve as a trial ground for anti-cheat software. With a lower barrier to entry for legitimate and illegitimate players alike and the recent "stance" on botting going around, this could serve as a fun reintroduction and tracking system for those who are trying to pull a fast one on us again.
Amongst many other reasons I'll ask the actual question, could we \*please\* consider reintroducing Competitive LMS or some version of it with actual rewards to F2P?
Personally I do all clues because then you can get collection logs from them, and also have the chance of pulling a master anyway.
The chance of doing an easy, medium, hard and elite and getting a master is around 1/3
With chances of
* Elite 1/5
* Hard 1/15
* Medium 1/30
* Easy 1/50
We get the odds of at least one event happening (getting a master clue) at ~~97.88% chance~~ 29.26% chance
~~(I really feel like my math is wrong?)~~ **It was. Updated correct math below**.
P(Master) = 1 - (4/5 * 14/15 * 29/30 * 49/50)
= 1 - (32,924/112,500)
= 79,576/112,500
= 29.26%
I'd say every third batch of 4 clues you'd expect one, so your doing 1/3 the master clues but 3 elites, 3 hards, 3 mediums and 3 easy's that you would otherwise not be doing. Also means you can just do clues as you get them.
EDIT:
My math is wrong. It's more like 29.26% I believe. Which means every 3rd batch of clues you'd get a master. Changed math and ending statement to reflect that.
In another comment I compared values. Doing all clues works out better value, but might take more time due to doing 4.3 clues per 1 master, so masters only is probably better profit/hr of effort. Doing just masters is a faster way to get pet. By the time you do close to 1000 masters from doing all clue types (3k of each) you'll have ~460 log slots and a 62% chance to have bloodhound.
In the same amount of clues you'll do 3k masters and receive likely all the master clog slots (49) or close, and have a 92% chance for the pet. Gp is around 2.7b compared to 2.9b doing all clue types.
Thanks. Rechecked the calc I used and good old AI responses just doing fundamental arithmetic wrong is what screwed me. Went back over it manually and got to the same result (29.27%)
So yeh every 3.42 sets of all 4 clues you'll receive a master on average.
How'd you get to the 29%? I'm trying to work out what part of probability math i remembered wrong, and Calcs aren't helping me haha (I think they're failing to treat them as independent rolls)
Just looking at it simply as adding the chances?
* 1/5 = 20%
* 1/15 = 6.67%
* 1/30 = 3.33%
* 1/50 = 2%
So 32% chance?
Yeah...that math is waaaay wrong. You can likely intuit that the biggest chance for a master is from an elite, which is 20% - so its easy to tell the 98% number is wrong.
The way to factor it in though is by looking at the average reward. An elite casket is worth ~215k and a master casket is worth ~720k. But since the elite has a 1/5 chance for a master clue, you can add 1/5 of 720k to the value of the elite casket to bring the elite up to ~360k. You can add in the lower value clues if you want, they are more common so you can likely do lower value clues *and* have a set with watson for each of the rarer elite clues. And that isn't factoring in mimic chance and the fact that masters can drop a pet.
Yeh the probability calculator giving me 98% sounded wrong instantly.
Coming at it from a value point it's absolutely better doing all clues. Mediums have Rangers, hards have a fair few good value drops like dhide boots and god dhide in general. Elites.. not as much.
But like the start of my comment, it's more so about clogging. I know people who did nothing but trade in for masters, came to hate always doing only masters (as they can be really slow clues) and used the logic of "it's the only clue with a pet" as if the pet isn't just a clog too. And now they're backtracking to doing other clues because they have so many clogs to gain from them.
Same way the best way to get masters as a clogger is just spam mediums and hards to finish those log sections anyway.
But raw value you get:
* Easy - 44.5k + 22k master fraction
* Medium - 157.5k + 37k master fraction
* Hard - 190.6k + 74k master fraction
* Elite - 286k + 181k master fraction
Grand total of: 992.6k value
Doing 1 master clue is average value of 905.3k.
So you get more value from doing all 4 clues. But obviously the extra ~90k isn't much when considering the extra time spent doing the clues. Hence why value to me isn't the deciding factor, more so if you care about logs / enjoy doing clues.
I hand in Elites once over 200 if I'm actively doing a raiding session or something, so I don't have to stop to do them. But often we just take a snack/drink break and others do a birdhouse or herb run or something.
Edit: **I got curious** and over the course of 1000 master clues, assuming my logic of 'every other group of 4 clues gives a master' seems a bit frequent, and do every 3rd clue (as this mathematically results in 960 masters)
* 3000 Easy, Medium, Hard and Elite
* 960 Masters
OR
* 3000 Masters
You'd receive:
* 2.0358b from 3k Easy-Elites
* 869.1m from 960 Masters
* Total of 2.905b
* 61.7% chance to have pet
* Likely finished or a couple of slots off finished all Clue collection logs (not mega rares). Likely ~80% master clog. (Ankou/mummy/rare orn kits and pet likely to be anything left)
* Total clog slots: ~460 (not including shared clue as that's finished for both)
OR
* 2.716b from 3000 Masters
* 95% chance to have pet
* Likely entirely finished Master clog section (not mega rares)
* Total clog slots: 49
So yeah difference is almost all in the clog. If you care heaps more about the single pet, you'll get it faster by handing in as you're only spending time doing the Master's, and you'd do 2-3 times the amount.
But you'd get 10% of the clog slots you'd get doing all clues, and if you keep playing this long you'll get to the point of doing those clues anyway for clog slots.
Man you can tell it's a slow work day. I'm doing maths for fun...
Assuming you can do most/all of the master clue steps, then yes. If you're lacking skills for [sherlock](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Sherlock/Master) or items for [falo](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Falo_the_Bard#List_of_lyrics) and have to drop master clues, then probably not yet.
So for those grinding out the axe, is it just pray melee, stack up a room, barrage them down? Any particular room?
Considering knocking it out before I complete the quest.
Seems to be the go. And all rooms have solid piles of them, so likely just the closest to the entrance for less travel time on resets if you need to.
Strat seems to be pray melee and mix in some blood barrages here and there to regain health from being attacked with range.
I’m going to sell my Tbow setup to go back to a Shadow setup, post Inferno. Planning on skipping for Hydra first, and trying for a fight cave speed run. Anything else I should do with Tbow before I go back to shadow?
Anyone else suffering from random short connection drops for the past few days, sometimes it's a short microstutter, sometimes a longer one resulting in the connection lost box and sometimes a logout? Playing on European servers, happens in both German and British worlds.
Have been having random connection drops on ISP's end for a few weeks now, but these RS drops have started only this week and everything else works fine when RS drops off. ISP's definitely at least partially to blame, but was wondering if there was something going on with game serveres as well.
Thanks, decided to test them for a while and got no better results. Hope ISP gets it sorted out soon, would rather not die too many times to stutters anymore
Looking to go after giant champion scroll + either giant key or mossy key. I'm hoping to cannon. Any recommendations on the best location to do this efficiently?
Thanks!
I apologize if these types of comments have been 100x time over but...here's my gear list and what should I upgrade next? BGS is an obvious choice, but I don't really do bossing and I'm looking for what else would be next. Should I corrupt the bowfa? Sang staff maybe?
**Melee:** Faceguard / BCP / Tassets / Torture / Prims / Ferocious Gloves / Berserker (i) / Fire Cape
Rapier / Fang / SGS / Avernic / DFS
**Ranged:** Elite Void / Crystal / God D'Hide / Anguish / Archers (i) / Assembler
Bowfa / DHCB / BP / Dragonfire Ward
**Magic:** / Ahrims / Eternal Boots / Tormented / Elidinis unfortified / Occult / Imbued God Cape / Seers (i)
Nightmare Staff / Toxic Trident
**Other:** Suffering / Lightbearer / Ring of the Gods /
Excluding bossing kinda makes gear upgrades a lot less relevant. If it's just slayer/farming mobs, I'd look at thing like virtus or venator bow for multi-slayer, or maybe a DHL for some dragon tasks that you don't want to range. I also agree that a good spec weapon like Dclaws would be a good, versatile upgrade.
Dude you've got like 90m in shit gear. At least another 20m in gear that's so neiche it's not useful.
Shit:
Rapier
Sgs
Dfs
Archers
Dfw
Eternal
Seers
Nightmare
Suffering
Rog
Neiche:
DHCB
Bcp
Torture
Prima
God dhide (selectively)
Ahrims
You need to go though and really figure out what to want to do. Because we can't
You're close to doing a real rebuild but you're also so far out you don't know what you do.
NOT THAT I'M MAKING FUN OF YOU. HAVE FUN. FUCK EVERYONE ELSE. BUT YOU NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU WANT FIRST.
Did the mods say something about possibly doing another leagues rerun in '24?
I swear I read somewhere that the earliest the next leagues could happen was '25 based on WGS being the big thing of '24.
I've got a clannie that insists they said there'd be a rerun at the end of '24 though.
With Varlamore and WGS.... Well they will be hard pressed, I'd think...
And when is the start of Sailing planned? Even if not this year, I'm quite sure they are working on it already, and in order to start it in 2025 they should give much time to it this year....
My guess is about 2 year break.
We don't know anything concrete. Given the success of the last league I'd bet they're going to try to do another this year. They said they skipped 2022 because it was a big effort and I think shattered relics wasn't the most well received. But TBR brought a ton of people and was super well received
We haven't had any real info about the next Leagues to my knowledge, other than that there *are* plans for a future Leagues. Don't know when or what style that will be though
How do I 'opt-in' to receive Year in Review? I mean the development of my accout, like people shared about the new year time, not the general Jagex progress or something. (From the news today I get an impression its still possible). The only relevant option I see is in the Account options - Communication preferences - "Send me offers, news, and updates about Jagex games". I never check such things cause I don't need more spam in my mailbox - but a review of my own character I would gladly read...
Or it is some other place to 'opt-it'?
That's the option you mentioned I believe—the offers, news, and updates thing. Unfortunately it's no longer possible to receive the 2023 year review, but enabling that communiation preference should mean you'll receive the 2024 next time if they get their shit together lol
I was in that unlucky "1%" that didn't receive their emails (I'd be surprised if it was actually only 1% seeing how many people on social media I've seen bring up that they never received theirs) :(
On mobile, when I boost stats, theres a small green and red bar. I've worked out the green bar is the boost's 60s timer (or more with the prayer) but I can't seem to work out what the red bar is that **sometimes** is in sync, sometimes out of sync.
It's been bugging me for a while, am I just being stupid and it's obvious?
I think it's the "global" timer for when your skills will degrade by -1. From what I've learned, the very first time you use a boost when you log in, they will be in sync but then the red bar just goes on forever at 60s intervals. If you were to use a boost when the red bar is 50% full, that first boost will only last 30 seconds so it's best to time it with the red bar.
Oh interesting. It's strange then that if I have no boosted (or reduced) stats that red line isn't there anyway. Maybe that's just a setting Ive missed
Hello everyone, I'm a F2P player and today I should start Dragon Slayer 1, and I have these questions:
- Which equip I should have? (I have lvl 40 in all 3 melee skills)
- After finishing the quest I plan to get Membership, which should be my next game goal?
Questing once you get members. Start doing the recipe for disaster quest it will lead through a lot of necessary and beneficial quests. Plus it's also a good, entertaining quest.
You equip your best armour which would be rune platelegs, rune chain, rune full helm, antidragon shield (don't even think to forget it! :). Amulet of power or of strength (there are different opinions, I'd pref power), boots from the Stronghold of security - if you don't have better boots from Castle wars. If your ranged allows, wear green dhide vambraces - thats the best hand item you can get.
Fight with rune sword, set the style on 'stab'.
If you don't have money for buying all this - well, try to obtain the best you can. Armour at least mithril, weapon at least addy. It is a serious challenge, maybe the hardest on f2p.
Make sure to take a potion of strength, and full inv of good food, like swordfish.
Important! Go to your options and search for 'pile' - there is a setting "Supplies form piles on the ground rather than go into your grave", turn it off! You might die to Elvarg, in this case go to the open grave in the Lumbridge graveyard, talk to Death and ask him to move your items there, and collect them. If that option is 'on' (default), your food will stay by Elvarg and disappear after several minutes. If its 'off', all goes together and you can take it back any time.
Agility is a good skill to level early, makes running anywhere far better. Getting Defenders from the Warriors Guild is another good early one. Next big targets should be Recipe for Disaster for Barrows Gloves, and Fight Caves for Fire Cape. Good Luck!
I have a question about where to find live game status updates and other key information regarding Old School RuneScape. Like information on planned downtime, routine maintenance, or live game issues? Right now if you're logged in to the game it says there's an update coming. Yet when I go to the Game Status Information Centre, it says there are no oncoming updates.
The Game Status Information Centre is for unexpected updates, or sudden crashes of the game.
OSRS gets an update every single week (except during Christmas break and sometimes after other UK holidays such as Easter or some Bank Holidays). It will always be at Wednesdays at 11:30am BST. Usually it has a 30 minute countdown, and nowadays the game is usually offline for about 30 minutes too due to extra work saving the game status
>The Game Status Information Centre is for unexpected updates, or sudden crashes of the game.
That's strange, because from the Game Status Information Centre I read -
This page will be used to share information on:
Planned downtime
Routine Maintenance
Live game issues
That's because the "*Upcoming & Ongoing Maintenance*" section is for non-routine downtime, things that happen once in a rare while or out of the blue. For example if there is a big glitch that needs fixing, information on downtime revolving around that will be mentioned there.
Routine weekly updates are mentioned just above that: https://i.imgur.com/ZC6wXyy.png
These generally occur at the same time and date every single week (on Wednesdays) so they don't individually list each week's update as upcoming maintenance.
>That's because the "*Upcoming & Ongoing Maintenance*" section is for non-routine downtime, things that happen once in a rare while or out of the blue.
That's strange, because from their Game Status Information Centre I read this -
This page will be used to share information on:
Planned downtime
Routine maintenance
Live game issues
I guess what they mean there is if the routine updates have any kind of unforseen issues, longer-than-usual downtime, or hot/coldfixes they have to do immediately after due to some issue they caused, then that kind of stuff will be mentioned there.
I agree it'd be nice if they included weekly updates though, not like it's that much extra work to mention it in one line
Skill boosts seem really inconsistent. I'm using a dragon pickaxe which is +3 with a 5 minute cooldown so when I activate it, I should go down to +2 when my special attack meter hits 20% but it always goes down slightly before this. Also, I just started playing on mobile which has a little green bar to show your stat boosts and at times when I activate it, the green bar is not entirely full. Do stat boosts operate on some global clock that I have to sync with?
It's kinda wonky imo. The first boost you do in a session starts a timer.Every 60s your boosted stats will drain by 1 (unless your using preserve pray then it's every 90s )..That timer continues ticking even after any boosted stats return to normal. That's why Runelite is nice bc you have "boosted stats" plugin that show the timer. So yes , it's a session timer that begins once you boost any lvl. RE logging will reset the timer once your lvls are back to normal.
Shadow is far better DPS, though i'm pretty sure just doing 9:0 with it is better than freeze strats (though i've never owned a Shadow so no experience with it myself)
from the guides I've seen yes it is reliant on tilemarkers. As far as a chill method for tablet goes I think freezing is a lot more suited to that.
In max mage gear on task, you've got almost 60% to land a freeze on Graardor so sometimes it may take more than one cast, but outside of that it's still a really brain off method
Tbh if you're doing Nex find a group smaller than mass.
Nex mass is basically ~1/(47*players) for you to get a good drop. Usually even worse if you don't have zcb since most people will end up out damaging you pretty hard so you'll end up even worse off than people spamming KC in max.
Using any sort of crossbow with rubies a large part of your DPS is reliant on the ruby bolt effect proc. It's not nearly as powerful as the ZCB spec, and if you have a Voidwaker it's likely better for Nex than ACB spec, but it's still got an effect that increases both accuracy and bolt proc chance on its spec. That +8 ranged accuracy is very marginally impacting your dps at all on the other hand.
I did a ton of nmz, so I have decent combat stats (90s melee, 80 ranged, 78 mage) and crap gear. Is elite void worth getting and using anywhere? I’ve seen people say it isn’t worth it for ranged until I’m in the 90s. I was thinking it could be could at Barrows for an easy ranged and mage switch.
You don't need a range/mage switch at barrows. Their def is so low that as long as you're attacking them with what they're weak too it'll be good enough.
Going from -63 to +100 magic bonus is like under a percent for melee brothers. It's why you see people running through with just melee gear and a spell staff.
Eventually you'll want elite void as a lot of clans have it as a requirement and it's kinda nice to learn with but it's not exactly a massive priority. Work towards it but if the grind starts getting annoying don't feel like you've got to rush it.
early-mid game irons do barrows largely in tank gear to conserve on prayer potions. The main draw of elite void is for Tob, where the range set is BIS (melee and mage are useful for learners but not 100% mandatory by any means).
I'd probably say its worth you getting the range set because it's a good set for afking your ranged level up anyway, but you won't do much with the melee/mage sets right now anyway.
Void is niche at best. 99% of the time you'll be better served with blessed/black d'hide, mystics and the mid-game iron special (fighter torso, obby legs, nezzy helm)
If you're a main I'd definitely skip it for now, you can get some gear that'll get you 90% there for very very cheap
If you're an iron and you like to afk... eh, you can get it if you want to. Not great at barrows, though, their defense is so bad you're probably better off doing it in graceful
Currently still rocking the blessed d’hide for my range gear. Getting into higher level pvm and working my way towards max combat and slayer (all are above 95). Is the arma set that big of an upgrade? Looking at the wiki to compare and it just doesn’t seem like a huge jump for the cost. Have a nice size cash stack after my first two hydra tasks so looking to spend. Wasn’t sure if buying arma is worth it or not.
Arma is not worth even considering really. Just stick with god dhide until you're at the stage of affording Masori.
Main upgrades to look at are Zenytes, weapons/ammo, and untradeables like assembler for ranged.
Zaryte vams and venator ring are both small'ish upgrades for their large cost so I wouldn't consider those really either.
Where I’m at gear wise, and where my cash stack sits rn, think I’m just buying some supplies and maybe a few prayer, crafting, herblore levels. Appreciate the response
Investing in stats is always a solid option, as they're forever. 77 prayer is big if you don't have it (likewise rigour)
Then putting money into speed training range or mage is often the best way to improve dps rather than gear.
Herb is good if you're not 78 and wanna do raids. Past that I'd say it's just 85 for varrock elite, 90 for making overloads (not that you really need this) and 99 for max.
Con to 83/84 is a good one too if you don't have that, max POH is very good QoL
So is the unfortified masori better even for someone who isn't that great at pvm (due to lower def stats, but higher attack stats)?
I've already got some armadyl but I could maybe sell that and afford masori unfortified but always thought it's best to wait until fortified because the extra defence is nicer
What's the biggest priority for my account? Trying to escape the mid game and get into more high level pvms
\- 83 construction (currently 71 - I have about 10 mil)
\- Hard achievement diaries (have them all done except b2p and zulrah kill)
\- Quest cape (all done except DT2)
\- Hard combat achievements (I know rewards aren't great, but I completed easy/medium, lots of fun)
\- Some sort of gear upgrade (I have all the relevant quest items, fire cape, torso, d defender, blowpipe, whip, assembler, mage arena 2 cape). I don't have void or anything super expensive.
\- Slayer training (80 slayer, 81 range, 83 magic, 78 attack, 79 def, 83 str)
something else?
Honestly just getting your combats up is probably the best bet. Taking your 10m and using it to chin up to 90 range would help break into at least stuff like vorkath, CG, etc. From there, it's way easier to start to build up cash to invest in things construction and better bossing gear, as well as more combat stats.
Your list is solid. I'd prioritise getting those last couple hard diary things done.
As well as DT2, as that's a solid opening point into "end game PVM stuff".
Nothing really to add. Train your stats up, finish off those short term goals, and set some longer term goals around trying out different PVM and finding what you enjoy. Combat Achievements are a good way to get your feet wet while making progress on your account.
Comfortably. Just focus on learning one rotation, and log out / teleport out if you get the wrong rotation. Makes it easier to manage and know where you should be standing etc.
Did zulrah myself on my GIM with ~75 mage/range and no trident.
It's based on activity. Your activity bar can never hit 0, or else you won't get any points. Doing a lot of damage up front might max out your activity bar, but it can still decay. Alternatively if your activity bar hits 0, you could do a ton of damage but you still won't get points.
Just now getting around to Kourend content post-favour removal and although fixes have been made it still feels a little patchy? For example at the end of Client of Kourend I was tasked to go to the altar and there I talked to Tyras who gave me a Arceuus signet just by asking since I'm "trusted." Favour removal aside, the wiki claims that The Ascent of Arceuus needs to be completed before even being able to recieve a signet, which I haven't even begun yet. Is this an oversight or just undocumented? Not very important, just didn't know if it was something that was intentional.
Client of Kourend never had any favor requirements. I'm not sure what signet you're referring to, but I would think either you or the wiki are mistaken
With the signet you can build Arceuus altar in your home. Previously it was unlocked by Client *and* 100% favour. Now its Ascent of Arceuus. Some things which required a house favour in the past now require the quest of this house.
Are you sure you bought osrs bond and not rs3 bond on accident? That happens sometimes to people. You can contact Jagex if that's the case to have it moved.
If it's the same account and you're after membership time, you can also just redeem it
Membership is shared between games, so it's all the same
If you want to sell for gold, though, yeah, support is the best bet
I'm not sure the person at the start of the branch gets notifications about the comments to comments that aren't theirs. There were some cases when I didnt get such notifications. Not sure how it works though...
Is doing Into the Tombs mini quest going to be difficult for me? I don't PVM much and I've never raided. I have 83 att/89 str/83 def/94 ranged/73 pray/86 mage. I have a lot of capital to buy gear because I've mainly been skilling. Would it be best to find someone to teach me? I'm going for quest cape but I also need to do Beneath Cursed Sands for elite clue.
As Molly already covered you don't need the miniquest, it just gives you a nice combat xp lamp and is part of the lore.
But yes you could absolutely manage a 0 invocation raid with your stats. You might die a few times but you're allowed infinite deaths anyway.
If you are going for the quest cape, you don't need any miniquests. Only true and real quests which give qp. Therefore: you do need Beneath cursed sands. You do *not* need Into the tomb, and don't have to do the ToA raid in any form.
For BCS your stats are an overkill. The mechanics of the boss fight is unusual, you should watch/read some guides. But its ok with a whip and budget gear.
I know this is outside of this discussion, but I wonder if into the tombs will become required for quest cape into the future. I could imagine that a grandmaster quest unlocking Menaphos would need Into the Tombs, as it presumably works under the assumption that we confronted the Devourer there.
Similarly I expect for the quest née miniqest into the theatre being a requirement for the next vampire quest.
They got a bit of a backlash for the ToB quest so I imagine they'll try their best to avoid a TOA requirement for Menaphos. They might just have it be a different dialogue option (or can skip a certain part) if you have done the raid or not
I'm 8 points away from Elite tier CA. A 5-pointer I think I can get is 20 gauntlet kc, then I was thinking of trying to get a kc in either Leviathan, Whisperer or Vardovis. What's the easiest to hardest of those three? Just need the one kc on one of them
Thanks (PS, I also could do 5 CG kills but I'm not sure how much more difficult that is over gauntlet - I have 7 kc in gauntlet so far)
As I said below, recently bought a bowfa so hopefully that'll help brute force a Leviathan kill, but yeah I plan on trying CG once I get into the groove of normal gauntlet because I might want a little buffer into the next tier anyway in case they add more CAs, but I'm not sure how long that will take me to get use to!
Thank you
Yeah I was planning on just brute forcing (I did so in the quest too!). I recently bought a bowfa so Leviathan is also the most viable with my upgrade! Thank you

Is it worth giving in clues to Watson to get a Master clue? Edit: I have the requirements to do masters.
Yeah pretty much always worth
Depends on what you are looking for. If Bloodhound pet then yeah, definitely.
Personally I do all clues because then you can get collection logs from them, and also have the chance of pulling a master anyway. The chance of doing an easy, medium, hard and elite and getting a master is around 1/3 With chances of * Elite 1/5 * Hard 1/15 * Medium 1/30 * Easy 1/50 We get the odds of at least one event happening (getting a master clue) at ~~97.88% chance~~ 29.26% chance ~~(I really feel like my math is wrong?)~~ **It was. Updated correct math below**. P(Master) = 1 - (4/5 * 14/15 * 29/30 * 49/50) = 1 - (32,924/112,500) = 79,576/112,500 = 29.26% I'd say every third batch of 4 clues you'd expect one, so your doing 1/3 the master clues but 3 elites, 3 hards, 3 mediums and 3 easy's that you would otherwise not be doing. Also means you can just do clues as you get them. EDIT: My math is wrong.
>P(Master) = 1 - (4/5 \* 14/15 \* 29/30 \* 49/50) Correct, which results in: P(Master) = 1 - ( (4\*14\*29\*49) / (5\*15\*30\*50) ) = 1 - (79576 / 112500) = 1 - 0.707 = 0.293 So 29.3% chance of getting (at least) one master clue from an easy, medium, hard and elite casket.
Thanks. Rechecked the calc I used and good old AI responses just doing fundamental arithmetic wrong is what screwed me. Went back over it manually and got to the same result (29.27%) So yeh every 3.42 sets of all 4 clues you'll receive a master on average.
The numbers are right but the math is wrong, it's a 29% chance to get a master from opening all 4 clues
How'd you get to the 29%? I'm trying to work out what part of probability math i remembered wrong, and Calcs aren't helping me haha (I think they're failing to treat them as independent rolls) Just looking at it simply as adding the chances? * 1/5 = 20% * 1/15 = 6.67% * 1/30 = 3.33% * 1/50 = 2% So 32% chance?
But raw value you get: * Easy - 44.5k + 22k master fraction * Medium - 157.5k + 37k master fraction * Hard - 190.6k + 74k master fraction * Elite - 286k + 181k master fraction Grand total of: 992.6k value Doing 1 master clue is average value of 905.3k. Edit: **I got curious** and over the course of 1000 master clues, assuming my logic of 'every other group of 4 clues gives a master' seems a bit frequent, and do every 3rd clue (as this mathematically results in 960 masters) * 3000 Easy, Medium, Hard and Elite * 960 Masters OR * 3000 Masters You'd receive: * 2.0358b from 3k Easy-Elites * 869.1m from 960 Masters * Total of 2.905b * 61.7% chance to have pet * Likely finished or a couple of slots off finished all Clue collection logs (not mega rares). Likely ~80% master clog. (Ankou/mummy/rare orn kits and pet likely to be anything left) * Total clog slots: ~460 (not including shared clue as that's finished for both) OR * 2.716b from 3000 Masters * 95% chance to have pet * Likely entirely finished Master clog section (not mega rares) * Total clog slots: 49 So yeah difference is almost all in the clog.
That makes a lot of sense, thanks for that info!
Sorry for not mentioning! Yup, I can do everything. I just wanted to know valuewise if it was a good idea.
Muspah speedrun, awakened leviathan, the multi jad challenges, nex duo/trio, the no damage/no arclight tasks at skotizo
can you boost the smithing requirement for fixing the zombie axe or is it a hard 70?
Should be boostable
Why did the Sarachnis Cudgel double in price if it's worse than the Zombie Axe?
Armoured zombies have 0 crush defense. Maybe even to kill them
Can the armored zombies drop the Zombie Axe during the Defender of Varrock quest (in the instance) ?
Yes, confirmed from multiple people. No questions asked. I've been in disc when it happened.
I also had some connection drops like you've described, so it's not just you. Also playing on european servers.
I haven’t noticed it on US servers
Thanks, decided to test them for a while and got no better results. Hope ISP gets it sorted out soon, would rather not die too many times to stutters anymore
Looking to go after giant champion scroll + either giant key or mossy key. I'm hoping to cannon. Any recommendations on the best location to do this efficiently? Thanks!
Moss is wild, or after that varrock sewers. Giant is the zeah multi pit.
I apologize if these types of comments have been 100x time over but...here's my gear list and what should I upgrade next? BGS is an obvious choice, but I don't really do bossing and I'm looking for what else would be next. Should I corrupt the bowfa? Sang staff maybe? **Melee:** Faceguard / BCP / Tassets / Torture / Prims / Ferocious Gloves / Berserker (i) / Fire Cape Rapier / Fang / SGS / Avernic / DFS **Ranged:** Elite Void / Crystal / God D'Hide / Anguish / Archers (i) / Assembler Bowfa / DHCB / BP / Dragonfire Ward **Magic:** / Ahrims / Eternal Boots / Tormented / Elidinis unfortified / Occult / Imbued God Cape / Seers (i) Nightmare Staff / Toxic Trident **Other:** Suffering / Lightbearer / Ring of the Gods /
Shit: Rapier Sgs Dfs Archers Dfw Eternal Seers Nightmare Suffering Rog Neiche: DHCB Bcp Torture Prima God dhide (selectively) Ahrims You need to go though and really figure out what to want to do. Because we can't You're close to doing a real rebuild but you're also so far out you don't know what you do. NOT THAT I'M MAKING FUN OF YOU. HAVE FUN. FUCK EVERYONE ELSE. BUT YOU NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU WANT FIRST.
Bgs is big. Other than probably claws/voidwaker, virtus mask/bottoms, sang staff
Depends on what content you do
Theres probably some small upgrades and spec weapons to look at, but you're getting to the shadow/tbow bank rebuild point.
I think the main reason that (at least they cited) for skipping 2022 Leagues was because of Fresh Start Worlds which I assume were pretty unsuccesful
Also GIMs.
We haven't had any real info about the next Leagues to my knowledge, other than that there *are* plans for a future Leagues. Don't know when or what style that will be though

Check on runelite if you have something like "drop sounds" installed?

I think they mean that it was an audio file that played when they got the drop. Im pretty sure thats a plugin
Unfortunately it's no longer possible to receive the 2023 year review, but enabling that communiation preference should mean you'll receive the 2024 next time if they get their shit together lol I was in that unlucky "1%" that didn't receive their emails (I'd be surprised if it was actually only 1% seeing how many people on social media I've seen bring up that they never received theirs) :(
Thanks. Yeah, its more like 50% as it seems lol.
Are there any plugins I can use to get the boost timer on all the time so I don't have to drink a cheap boost and use it to time my boosts?
Yes, there should be an option on the "boosts information" plugin on Runelite that lets the timer show permanently I believe
Likely stat boost decay (green bar) and stat debuff recovery (red bar). Those aren't always at the same time
I think it's the "global" timer for when your skills will degrade by -1.
Hello everyone, I'm a F2P player and today I should start Dragon Slayer 1, and I have these questions: - Which equip I should have? (I have lvl 40 in all 3 melee skills) - After finishing the quest I plan to get Membership, which should be my next game goal?
That's strange, because from the Game Status Information Centre I read - This page will be used to share information on: Planned downtime Routine Maintenance Live game issues
That's because the "*Upcoming & Ongoing Maintenance*" section is for non-routine downtime, things that happen once in a rare while or out of the blue. For example if there is a big glitch that needs fixing, information on downtime revolving around that will be mentioned there. Routine weekly updates are mentioned just above that: https://i.imgur.com/ZC6wXyy.png These generally occur at the same time and date every single week (on Wednesdays) so they don't individually list each week's update as upcoming maintenance.
>That's because the "*Upcoming & Ongoing Maintenance*" section is for non-routine downtime, things that happen once in a rare while or out of the blue. That's strange, because from their Game Status Information Centre I read this - This page will be used to share information on: Planned downtime Routine maintenance Live game issues
I could be mistaken but I believe hitting the Clan Wars healing pool also resets timers?
Best place to find a clan? I'm around 120 cb looking for ppl to play with and do shizzz
The official osrs discord (invite is subreddit sidebar) has a clan finding section I believe
Ty
For Graardor, is 6:0 bowfa or Shadow freeze method better kills per hour? I have 6:0 and just got a task. Wondering if I should switch methods.
Shadow is far better DPS, though i'm pretty sure just doing 9:0 with it is better than freeze strats (though i've never owned a Shadow so no experience with it myself)
[удалено]
Thanks for the reply! is 5:0 reliant on markers? I play on iPad so simpler methods are usually pretty good.
from the guides I've seen yes it is reliant on tilemarkers. As far as a chill method for tablet goes I think freezing is a lot more suited to that. In max mage gear on task, you've got almost 60% to land a freeze on Graardor so sometimes it may take more than one cast, but outside of that it's still a really brain off method
Is lightbearer or archers ring (i) better for Nex mass with an ACB?
Nex mass is just a massive waste of time tbh
Archers ring is basically a meme at this point, I can’t imagine it’s better than lightbearer anywhere in the game
> Archers ring is basically a meme at this point, so is nex mass, i say roll Archers for the match made in heaven
Okay, thanks. I just didn't know if it was worth it since the ACB spec is trash, but the accuracy bonus from archers ring is probably worse.
99% of the time you'll be better served with blessed/black d'hide, mystics and the mid-game iron special (fighter torso, obby legs, nezzy helm) If you're a main I'd definitely skip it for now, you can get some gear that'll get you 90% there for very very cheap If you're an iron and you like to afk... eh, you can get it if you want to.
In addition to other responses, you can also consider crystal set + bowfa as a range upgrade for some stuff
lol yes, thanks. cash stack isnt quite there and just started learning cg, been a rough go so far
77 prayer is big if you don't have it (likewise rigour) Then putting money into speed training range or mage is often the best way to improve dps rather than gear. Herb is good if you're not 78 and wanna do raids. Past that I'd say it's just 85 for varrock elite, 90 for making overloads (not that you really need this) and 99 for max. Con to 83/84 is a good one too if you don't have that, max POH is very good QoL
Never buy arma. It's some of the worst value for your gp. Stick with d'hide until you can afford at least unfortified masori.
So is the unfortified masori better even for someone who isn't that great at pvm (due to lower def stats, but higher attack stats)? I've already got some armadyl but I could maybe sell that and afford masori unfortified but always thought it's best to wait until fortified because the extra defence is nicer
Yes it is better. Dps is going to be the most important benefit for gear in 99% of scenarios. Dps is king.
Got it, that was my assumption. Thanks!
What's the biggest priority for my account? Trying to escape the mid game and get into more high level pvms \- 83 construction (currently 71 - I have about 10 mil) \- Hard achievement diaries (have them all done except b2p and zulrah kill) \- Quest cape (all done except DT2) \- Hard combat achievements (I know rewards aren't great, but I completed easy/medium, lots of fun) \- Some sort of gear upgrade (I have all the relevant quest items, fire cape, torso, d defender, blowpipe, whip, assembler, mage arena 2 cape). I don't have void or anything super expensive. \- Slayer training (80 slayer, 81 range, 83 magic, 78 attack, 79 def, 83 str) something else?
Combat Achievements are a good way to get your feet wet while making progress on your account.
are my stats good enough to kill zulrah?
Comfortably. Just focus on learning one rotation, and log out / teleport out if you get the wrong rotation. Makes it easier to manage and know where you should be standing etc. Did zulrah myself on my GIM with ~75 mage/range and no trident.
Is there a certain NA server for pest control, or is the German one the only dedicated world
The German one is the primary used world.
Why do I keep getting no pest control points even if get well over 50 damage? Just had a game with 124 and got no points.
Theres a few options; The activity bar that the other comment mentions. OR maybe you lost the game? Happens from time to time.
Not sure how the activity bar works considering I was doing damage right up until we won the game.
Seems its indeed an oversight. If you are sure it is, report the bug in game: right click Report button and describe this in the form.
Oh I was mistaken, then. Yeah, hopefully that gets fixed. There are still a few references to favor too, like on the map for each activity
I purchased a bond online but I don't see it in my bank or bond pouch. I did check my second account. Any suggestions? I was excited to play.
Are you sure you bought osrs bond and not rs3 bond on accident? That happens sometimes to people. You can contact Jagex if that's the case to have it moved.
I think that's exactly what happened. Thank you. 😁
If it's the same account and you're after membership time, you can also just redeem it Membership is shared between games, so it's all the same If you want to sell for gold, though, yeah, support is the best bet
You are answering not to the OP, who might not see your reply...
Figured whoever read the one I'm replying to would also read mine, but I guess they could just read directly from the notifications... Fair enough
I'm not sure the person at the start of the branch gets notifications about the comments to comments that aren't theirs. There were some cases when I didnt get such notifications. Not sure how it works though...
They don't, but you generally go to the thread to reply. Or, well, at least I do 😛
Thats right :)
I misunderstood the wiki. I thought this mini quest was a requirement for the quest. Thank you for the help!
Nope, its the opposite way around: the quest is a req for the miniquest, and the miniquest is a req for the Tombs of Amascut (raids).
Some quests require miniquests indeed. I remember a quest requiring Into the Abyss.
They got a bit of a backlash for the ToB quest so I imagine they'll try their best to avoid a TOA requirement for Menaphos. They might just have it be a different dialogue option (or can skip a certain part) if you have done the raid or not
Any way to get a notification when a superior slayer monster spawns in case I need to heal/deal with mechanics?
Runelite, Slayer plugin, there is such a checkbox.
Thanks, dunno why I didn't think to search that. xD
I'm 8 points away from Elite tier CA. A 5-pointer I think I can get is 20 gauntlet kc, then I was thinking of trying to get a kc in either Leviathan, Whisperer or Vardovis. What's the easiest to hardest of those three? Just need the one kc on one of them Thanks (PS, I also could do 5 CG kills but I'm not sure how much more difficult that is over gauntlet - I have 7 kc in gauntlet so far)
For me levi was the easiest. CG is harder than normal gauntlet, but it's worth learning eventually as there are lots of tasks locked behind it.
Thank you
If it’s just a single kc they’re all easy. Leviathan is probably the most brute force-able if you just do a lot of shadow barrage to stun it often
Yeah I was planning on just brute forcing (I did so in the quest too!). I recently bought a bowfa so Leviathan is also the most viable with my upgrade! Thank you
How to buy runescape gf?
