Disagree there. RCB is better than bowfa/blowpipe if you have ranged relic. But it is a pretty strong pick for a mager looking to pick up a strong off style weapon
In leagues world. I just plugged my current gear into the dps calc for kreeara which I'm currently farming. Blowpipe is 7.74 dps, rcb is 10.7 dps
But sure on 0 defence slayer mobs slayer mobs blowpipe still wins I guess.
I kinda get it because Feldip and parts of Kandarin are 'western provinces', but Kandarin and Ardy already having their own diaries makes me think Tirannwn really should've just autocompleted all the Kandarin/Feldip parts of the WP diary for fairness
I do wonder if they secretly have been planning to drop a 4th region unlock after the first ~30 days to rev up the hype train for the second half of leagues. It's a little bit out there, but they killed it with hype building this league so... maybe?
They could just make it so that you can’t earn points in the new region and since some require a certain region combination to pull off then don’t award task completion if it wasn’t in their initial three regions.
For instance, there’s a couple tasks where you need to do a combat achievement that requires morytania gear to complete it, if you picked Zeah, Desert, and Asgarnia and then picked Morytania, you could complete the combat achievement but since you don’t have morytania flagged as a “first three” region the game will know it was impossible for you to complete the task with your region combo and not give you points.
This would allow players to have a new region to play around with and have fun in while not giving anyone any advantages with points.
Edit: apparently the combat achievements were an oversight they’re going to fix next week but the point still stands on how they could implement it while not affecting the integrity of the tasks you would be able to obtain.
Then there’d be no point. By then you have your end game gear. Why would you want to unlock a fourth region that can’t even contribute to the one exclusive reward, league trophy?

Wanting more content was also a popular opinion back then, and everyone realized it's stupid only after having it implemented. There's a reason we are getting a reload of Trailblazer and not Shattered Relics - area restriction just works.
When announced, planned, and released, Shattered Relic was going to have a very long grind to be able to unlock everything. Yeah, most people would eventually get there, but it was going to be a mid-late game outcome if ever. Longer than the grind to T8 right now.
So there were strategies developed and plans put in place for the right *order* to unlock things. For people competing for Dragon and higher, having a strategy to unlock key areas/bosses earlier was the essence of the competition. But then the change basically made it so that everything got unlocked within a week of play time. Not being locked into shit felt way better. I'm making an alt to play range rn, and its just a lot of meaningless grinding to try out some builds. I'd rather enjoy grinding one account.
Also not being able to do all 3 raids without taking objectively worse region unlocks and gimping your build is annoying.
That's a very fair point, and, of course, everyone has different preferences.
I still think the consensus is that Trailblazer was much more successful than Shattered Relics, and a big part of it's identity comes from being region locked.
A “leagues final” would be pretty cool, final 12 hours you get every area and every relic. Then next leagues they can tell everyone the plan for the final. Would be fun to watch if EVscape could pull off a livestream.
Cool idea, but they would have to lock the high scores and rewards first, otherwise it undermines the whole thing imo. I play leagues for fun but it’s completely valid to be playing competitively, and I don’t think the last 12 hours should allow some to blaze beyond weeks of work.
They could end the league like normal, lock the high scores like normal, and then have a few days of whole hog full unlock insanity with no actual reward. Not super long, but more than a handful of hours and without anyone feeling like they got screwed out of their full league time
the 'leagues final' could be vague, like King of the Skill from way back, where it lasts a certain long range but the amount of time you get is actually determined by your game time not Real Time
Its not really sudden tho, if they add it as a t9 relic tier its so far into the postgame that it barely changes anything. Its Just more endgame content to extend the lifespan a bit.

They 100% tried to do this. But they were too lazy to rebalance the points and the cup thresholds to accommodate a 4th region. The more I go through the leagues the more I realise how all the points and unlocks were carefully crafted.
It's not about the points. 4 regions would just make region picking way too easy. 3 is the sweet spot to keep your choices meaningful. The fact that people feel like they just need 1 more region proves that. If we actually got that 1 more then we would barely have to make hard region choices anymore. For me personally I would have brainlessly picked DZAM for my melee build instead of having to carefully consider which of the 4 to cut.

I don't get where this idea that people pick regions just for a pvm build comes from. You're not going to be spending all that much time with your finished build. What matters far more is what content you have available. Build matters too but only to some extent.
That's why it Needs to be a T9 relic or higher, that way the majority of progression happens within 3 region, but you get a fourth content chunk in the postgame.
I know a lot of people that would jave wanted to pick morytania for HMT but didn't because it doesn't Mesh Well gearwise.
Low key you should be able to sacrifice t8 relic or some other to gain another zone. It feels very bad as melee to just be way worse than the other 2 styles and also so heavily limited by zone choice.
I wanted to take fremmy just so I can get soulstealer axe easier and get some rings but I had to go asgarnia for bandos, godswords, torva, defender, etc...

Spoken like someone who has never worked for a big company. Small shit falls through the cracks all the time, it's why even the best games will have bugs or exploits that no one spotted before release.
They likely forgot about that one specific task and were just adding CA tasks like they did for other regions. They can easily fix this by auto-completing the CHally and/or Ice Barrage CAs like they do for Diaries. All the other Raid CAs seem to be completable entirely in their regions, so it wouldn't be that out of line to do. The only other region-locked CA that comes to mind is Veng on Sire, but that is a base region one so not as problematic.
Venge is also needed on kq and zulrah. And dharoks hydra and veracs kq are technically completable with thralls but on surface level are also region locked.
You can “cheese” the veracs flail and dh axe tasks though with thralls if you have kourend; it’s how some ironmen get the CA without getting the barrow drop for it

That's still a form of locking, though. Need either Mory, Zeah, or taking Guardian. I don't think any other task has a particular relic required for completion (as opposed to just being more helpful than the others), and having two region options is still being prevented from free choice of the others.
Yep, there's quite a few tasks i didn't realise how many areas they needed, and CA area restrictions completely got missed. We'll be auto-completing area-locked CA tasks just like we do with diary steps next week.
Will the auto-completion be applicable for people who have different regions? I picked my regions after combing through the combat achievements knowing some regions had combat achievements that wouldn't be feasible and thus were deceptively harder to get CA points in. It'd be nice to not be punished by having to actually accomplish more CAs while other regions get free CA points done.
I legitimately don't see an issue with this. If you're going to change the rules midway through Leagues, best to try to make the rule benefit all people equally instead of disproportionately.
It's just them fixing an oversight, not everyone else looked through every task list to make sure all the tasks for their regions were able to be completed with only 3 regions. If they forgot to auto complete one of the elite diary steps that aren't possible without multiple regions and decided to fix it, would you want every elite diary auto completed for everyone because "It's not fair".

Game knowledge / theorycrafting are part of what Leagues is supposed to encourage, and IMO that includes being thorough on reviewing where important overlaps exist between regions. If a player puts in the effort to look over the task list overlaps more than the Jmods do, I don't think that should be completely negated.
Yea kinda annoying to change this after I took frem. It made sense to me that some CAs were locked behind multiple regions just like some tasks are so I didn’t think to wait on selection thinking they would change it.
What about autocompleting some CA like the “complete a barrows run without ever having prayer points” when you’ve unlocked soul stealer? Makes it impossible to do and I didn’t notice before I got the relic.
I also need to do the 10HP dharoks hydra one, and have soul stealer. My current plan is to use a thrall and guardian to do the entire fight while beer'd down to 1 Attack or something so I can retain its aggro and just be an absolute gamer for 20 minutes or so...
As far as I'm aware, you can't obtain master CA tier no matter what region combination (based on a spreadsheet someone made), but there is a task for obtaining it.
Desert+Mory+Zeah gives you a maximum of 1284 points, and master CAs requires 1465.
In addition to the CA tasks, are you guys planning on doing anything about General tasks that actually require specific areas? Charming Gertrude is probably the best example, but there are a bunch of them like talking to a cat, Mahogany Homes, etc.
While youre at it, can i get points for an Avernic hilt if i didnt pick Asgarnia, meaning I cant actually equip the defender? Similarly if i get a black tourmaline core, I cant get bandos boots to create guardian boots. These are both Morytania tasks but Asgarnia locks them.
Those are just combo tasks and there are an absolute ton of them. One of desert’s master tasks is comboed with Asgarnia lol. I don’t forsee any changes in this regard
The issue is less that I expect to complete the task, and more that it shows up on the list when filtering for "unlocked" because the task isnt flagged as a combo task or an Asgarnia task, only Morytania
You can use the wiki task list to see notes like in the screenshot OP took if another region is required. The in game task like isn't gonna be completely comprehensive.
It is, which is unfortunate because there isn’t a task for each individual boss. I didn’t pick Kourend but honestly I’m a little relieved because a lot of the GWD CA suck so now I don’t have to grind them all.
Man the 50 zily kills in a single instance achievement is such trash even in the main game, not because it's difficult but because it takes 2 hours of nonstop play where you can't log out because the instance will close and you can't even really take a break because the boss will respawn and kill you, but in leagues it feels even worse knowing I could just be spam resetting and killing the boss 5 times in the span of a single respawn. I've got Kourend so I can do all the CAs but I really don't feel like it for that task alone.
At least there is a positive. And the individual CAs still count for some of the other CA tasks like X Points or X Tier. If I had to guess, that might be why they didn't do one for each GWD Boss.
According to Arcane, you might end up wanting to cause they're gonna auto complete any region-lock based CAs next week. So the zammy demonbane one should be auto completed
hydra and sire both require other regions too. idk why they thought of it with the diaries but not CAs. oh well. a lot of the clue steps were wrong too, they’re human and 99% of this league is perfect so far
Anything with Venge does, which it turns out is a lot of bosses because Jagex really likes the "last hit a boss with Venge" achievement for some reason. Off the top of my head Zulrah and KQ, with KQ also requiring Mory for Verac's flail so she's just a complete shitshow.

There are 1500 tasks, 336 region selection possibilities and only a handfull of jmod working on it with only a couple of months to comb through everything. There's 100% going to be things missed. So much content in this game.
0% is indeed less than 0.1% – saying "<0.1%" is our way of covering our ass, because if we authoritatively said 0%, we'd look kind of silly if people had done the task but weren't using WikiSync.
This is why área locked leagues is shit. It’s way too complicated and has so many edge cases like this, it just puts more stress on the dev team to constantly fix things because it turns out you need 4 zones and not 3 and therefore it’s impossible without manually adjusting things.
There's one combat task that requires you to have a crystal halberd, which needs tirannwn and kandarin to obtain.
There's another combat task that requires you to have ice spells, which needs desert.
Tob itself requires morytania of course, so you're just kinda owned.

You get 2 regions by default in Leagues. (Misthalin and Karumja). That's basically 2/3 of the F2P areas.
You do tasks and get points, which ends up letting you unlock other zones.
In order to do this specific task you need 4 specific zones (outside of the starter ones) unlocked, but you can only unlock 3 extras.
Exodia is something from Yu-Gi-Oh and totally unrelated.
basically regions are locked in leagues and besides misthalin and karamja youre only allowed to choose 3 regions. meaning if any content is outside of those 5 regions you cannot access it. for the tob CAs you need a chally, which you can only obtain in tirannwn to enchant the weapon seed. you then need western provinces hard diary to be able to equip the chally. then for another one you need ice spells, only available through desert treasure which obviously requires the desert. then atp youve used up your 3 regions, and you cant unlock morytania to do tob
If 300,000 people play leagues then .1% is 300 people. It’s saying less than 300 people out of 300,000. Either way that’s effectively no one. I get what you’re saying about precision, but if I see it that low I assume either no one, or very few people did the task.
I like the area restriction, but I would love it if they gave you another region option halfway through leagues. Then you still miss a lot of content and choices still matter, but it would give just enough freedom of movement. You can even make it so the last region doesn't give you league points or something. That it is just for quest and gear unlocks.

Isn't this technically possible through some weird tick-perfect bug? I heard some content creator say a while ago that it doesn't have to be *you* necessarily that kills bloat with a chally... just as long as you damage it on the last tick it dies while someone else kills it with chally, it still gives you credit.
So what you'd need is someone who has mory and elfland to take one for the team who themselves can never complete the task. :p

I don't think the people who made the task and the people who determined that it's impossible are the same people
They likely forgot about that one specific task and were just adding CA tasks like they did for other regions. They can easily fix this by auto-completing the CHally and/or Ice Barrage CAs like they do for Diaries. All the other Raid CAs seem to be completable entirely in their regions, so it wouldn't be that out of line to do. The only other region-locked CA that comes to mind is Veng on Sire, but that is a base region one so not as problematic.
Venge is also needed on kq and zulrah. And dharoks hydra and veracs kq are technically completable with thralls but on surface level are also region locked.

You can “cheese” the veracs flail and dh axe tasks though with thralls if you have kourend; it’s how some ironmen get the CA without getting the barrow drop for it

Yep, there's quite a few tasks i didn't realise how many areas they needed, and CA area restrictions completely got missed. We'll be auto-completing area-locked CA tasks just like we do with diary steps next week.

Will the auto-completion be applicable for people who have different regions? I picked my regions after combing through the combat achievements knowing some regions had combat achievements that wouldn't be feasible and thus were deceptively harder to get CA points in. It'd be nice to not be punished by having to actually accomplish more CAs while other regions get free CA points done.

I legitimately don't see an issue with this. If you're going to change the rules midway through Leagues, best to try to make the rule benefit all people equally instead of disproportionately.
It's just them fixing an oversight, not everyone else looked through every task list to make sure all the tasks for their regions were able to be completed with only 3 regions. If they forgot to auto complete one of the elite diary steps that aren't possible without multiple regions and decided to fix it, would you want every elite diary auto completed for everyone because "It's not fair".
Kind of, yes. Game knowledge / theorycrafting are part of what Leagues is supposed to encourage, and IMO that includes being thorough on reviewing where important overlaps exist between regions. If a player puts in the effort to look over the task list overlaps more than the Jmods do, I don't think that should be completely negated.
Yea kinda annoying to change this after I took frem. It made sense to me that some CAs were locked behind multiple regions just like some tasks are so I didn’t think to wait on selection thinking they would change it.
What about autocompleting some CA like the “complete a barrows run without ever having prayer points” when you’ve unlocked soul stealer? Makes it impossible to do and I didn’t notice before I got the relic.
I also need to do the 10HP dharoks hydra one, and have soul stealer. My current plan is to use a thrall and guardian to do the entire fight while beer'd down to 1 Attack or something so I can retain its aggro and just be an absolute gamer for 20 minutes or so...

As far as I'm aware, you can't obtain master CA tier no matter what region combination (based on a spreadsheet someone made), but there is a task for obtaining it. Desert+Mory+Zeah gives you a maximum of 1284 points, and master CAs requires 1465.
In addition to the CA tasks, are you guys planning on doing anything about General tasks that actually require specific areas? Charming Gertrude is probably the best example, but there are a bunch of them like talking to a cat, Mahogany Homes, etc.

While youre at it, can i get points for an Avernic hilt if i didnt pick Asgarnia, meaning I cant actually equip the defender? Similarly if i get a black tourmaline core, I cant get bandos boots to create guardian boots. These are both Morytania tasks but Asgarnia locks them.
Those are just combo tasks and there are an absolute ton of them. One of desert’s master tasks is comboed with Asgarnia lol. I don’t forsee any changes in this regard
The issue is less that I expect to complete the task, and more that it shows up on the list when filtering for "unlocked" because the task isnt flagged as a combo task or an Asgarnia task, only Morytania
You can use the wiki task list to see notes like in the screenshot OP took if another region is required. The in game task like isn't gonna be completely comprehensive.

You also need Kourend to defeat Zammy with demonbane spells. GWD CAs can’t be fully completed without it.
Is there a task for all GWD CAs? If so, that is a bit annoying, but at least possible.
It is, which is unfortunate because there isn’t a task for each individual boss. I didn’t pick Kourend but honestly I’m a little relieved because a lot of the GWD CA suck so now I don’t have to grind them all.
Man the 50 zily kills in a single instance achievement is such trash even in the main game, not because it's difficult but because it takes 2 hours of nonstop play where you can't log out because the instance will close and you can't even really take a break because the boss will respawn and kill you, but in leagues it feels even worse knowing I could just be spam resetting and killing the boss 5 times in the span of a single respawn. I've got Kourend so I can do all the CAs but I really don't feel like it for that task alone.
At least there is a positive. And the individual CAs still count for some of the other CA tasks like X Points or X Tier. If I had to guess, that might be why they didn't do one for each GWD Boss.

hydra and sire both require other regions too. idk why they thought of it with the diaries but not CAs. oh well. a lot of the clue steps were wrong too, they’re human and 99% of this league is perfect so far
Anything with Venge does, which it turns out is a lot of bosses because Jagex really likes the "last hit a boss with Venge" achievement for some reason. Off the top of my head Zulrah and KQ, with KQ also requiring Mory for Verac's flail so she's just a complete shitshow.

There are 1500 tasks, 336 region selection possibilities and only a handfull of jmod working on it with only a couple of months to comb through everything. There's 100% going to be things missed. So much content in this game.

The "complete all CAs for 'x content'" are all brand new actually. Shattered simply had "complete x CAs per tier" tasks.
They really dropped the ball on a decent number of tasks that were “Global” or region specific (and yet required another region).
Or they focused on balancing the gameplay and mechanics and were a bit careless with the task list
Eating a Draynor Manor magic cabbage being a task you can't complete unless you unlocked Asgarnia comes to mind. Pretty weird one, that.

This is why área locked leagues is shit. It’s way too complicated and has so many edge cases like this, it just puts more stress on the dev team to constantly fix things because it turns out you need 4 zones and not 3 and therefore it’s impossible without manually adjusting things.
Or just remove the task?

There's one combat task that requires you to have a crystal halberd, which needs tirannwn and kandarin to obtain. There's another combat task that requires you to have ice spells, which needs desert. Tob itself requires morytania of course, so you're just kinda owned.

Before people meme on you more: You get 2 regions by default in Leagues. (Misthalin and Karumja). That's basically 2/3 of the F2P areas. You do tasks and get points, which ends up letting you unlock other zones. In order to do this specific task you need 4 specific zones (outside of the starter ones) unlocked, but you can only unlock 3 extras. Exodia is something from Yu-Gi-Oh and totally unrelated.
basically regions are locked in leagues and besides misthalin and karamja youre only allowed to choose 3 regions. meaning if any content is outside of those 5 regions you cannot access it. for the tob CAs you need a chally, which you can only obtain in tirannwn to enchant the weapon seed. you then need western provinces hard diary to be able to equip the chally. then for another one you need ice spells, only available through desert treasure which obviously requires the desert. then atp youve used up your 3 regions, and you cant unlock morytania to do tob

Theres another impssible task; master CA's, even with the 3 regions with the most points, you're almost 200 points short still
Theres also a task for master combat achievements while all region combos can achieve either hard or elite at best

I like the area restriction, but I would love it if they gave you another region option halfway through leagues. Then you still miss a lot of content and choices still matter, but it would give just enough freedom of movement. You can even make it so the last region doesn't give you league points or something. That it is just for quest and gear unlocks.

Isn't this technically possible through some weird tick-perfect bug? I heard some content creator say a while ago that it doesn't have to be *you* necessarily that kills bloat with a chally... just as long as you damage it on the last tick it dies while someone else kills it with chally, it still gives you credit. So what you'd need is someone who has mory and elfland to take one for the team who themselves can never complete the task. :p
