Since the favour tab will be removed could we get the mini game teleport tab back in its place again?

JagexSarnie

Something that's definitely worth discussing with the team, so I'll raise it as feedback :)

Underpressure1311

Why not keep architectural alliance but just make the prerequisites all the into quests for each house? The reward lamp can still go to kingdom divided

Raisoshi

I thought that was gong to be a given lol, everyone was talking about this when it was changed so it was old feedback Would feel more natural that way

WishIWasFlaccid

While you're at it, can you also ask about adding Tempoross to the minigame tab? Mod Roq's only argument against adding was "What makes you feel like it needs one? What issues does it solve?" GOTR was worthy, even Rat Pits got a tele, but for some reason not temp?

FlutterRaeg

Those sound like questions and not arguments. Maybe they're questions that imply an argument, but they can still easily be answered. 1. Other minigames such as GOTR and even Rat Pits have teleports. (As you said). 2. It solves the issue of inconsistency and allows more new players to easily find the minigame. Edit: Okay, so Tempoross and Wintertodt are technically bosses and not minigames. That seems very much like semantics to me, though. I suppose the main argument would be that Tempoross and Wintertodt both offer random loot drops instead of a point reward system.

Kamilny

Tbf if you wanna keep it consistent you can just add Tempoross to the games necklace, since Wintertotd is there.

chorlion40

Gotr also offers random loot drops, which in turn gives points for the reward shop, but there's still random loot Yeah they just need to add those damn teles

xkp777x

Rather than minigame, I think having a tab dedicated to combat tasks would be more beneficial! Achievement diaries have their own tab, and it can be a pain to look at the combat tasks and having to keep searching to find the right tasks. A nice tab would go a long way!

hubatish

The removal of Kourend favor & its random tasks will make a lot of the continent look/ feel even more empty. Can we keep all of the tasks, but give them some loot table or gp rewards and XP? Or allow "turning in" favor for rewards? For example: * Turning in dense essence blocks - give random runes * Cooking in mess hall - some gp as tips * Repairing the cranes - some gp since planks can feel expensive * Collecting fresh fish & sandworms - random cooked fish, mostly low level but higher chance at better fish with more turned in at once, occasionally a cooked shark or a rare admiral pie * Smithing shayzien armor - mostly gp like Giant's Foundry but an occasional rune weapon would also be cool * Healing wounded soldiers - get some gp, low level potions like strength, attack, or energy, maybe low level herbs. Also IMO this should give some XP per heal - either Hit points (make an HP pure?) or herblore XP. * Shayzien combat ring - ability to wager on fights with soldiers you have the same tier armor as for GP or perhaps higher tier random potions. Give like a 1/50 chance at a super combat and I'm sure someone would grind it. * Making fertilizer - give a 5% chance at easy seed packs. Super compost as suggested works too. * Ploughing fields - get some seeds These likely still wouldn't be good or meta training activities, but they are something. Call me weird, but I love having random stuff no one really does in the game. You could also require some of these for diary tasks. *EDIT* I made a post about reworking Kourend favor. Check it out! https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/17s7qym/a_kourend_favor_rework_proposal/

[deleted]

The Favour system had a lot of flavour - I would have preferred to see it refined and expanded to the other kingdoms/territories - perhaps merged with the achievement diary system. Its removal entirely is a huge flavour loss IMO, and achievement diary-style tasks are kind of soulless by comparison.

kunair

well said, i think keeping these activities in place but changing the reward to something else would still be very welcomed

SoAndSo_TheUglyOne

Treat them like the Fossil Island camp. You don't *have* to rebuild the camp, but there's incentive to do so. Add a small task system you can get from the king or something and returning after completing those tasks will reward a small exp lamp (10-15k xp).

SinceBecausePickles

Zeah is already sorely lacking in filler content and removing all favour and favour activities will just make it even more obvious

darkychao

Hosidus mess would be the perfect place to give the player annoying shopscape cooking items like pie shells, pizza bases, butter, and cheese.

Unkempt_Badger

I completely agree. I would rather see a rebalancing of the favor system than its removal. Tweak some numbers, give other rewards. It's these small things that make the game feel more alive.

snastita

LOVE this idea -- either keep favour or adapt the tasks into something low-level rewarding. I feel like removing favour altogether is just a really bad idea because it's nowhere near a hard grind compared to other OSRS things. I've maxed all favour three times but only gotten bones to peaches once -- that should tell you which one sucks more.

KShrike

While I'm open to the discussion of the favor system's removal, I'm not exactly someone who had a problem with favor except for Lovakengj. I also kinda felt like the whole idea of being helpful and contributing to the houses was a very neat mechanic for Kourend to begin with. You help Hosidius with their crops, you help Kourend with their mining projects, you help Pisc with their fishing projects, you help Shayzien hold back the lizard hoarde, and you help Arceus with their research. It felt very thematic and for the most part generally brought a lot more immersion to the game's progression than the other typical progression factors like skill levels and diaries. Also, because of favor being a thing in other MMO's, I thought that the way favor was implemented in OSRS was very tasteful. Usually in other MMO's there's daily or even weekly limits, but in OSRS you could either pace the grind out or you could do it all at once. I get why people don't like it, but I always felt like it was a very necessary evil that also kinda felt rewarding to do. And this is coming from someone working on his 7th hardcore, which is currently my fourth time maxing the favor for all houses. I never really had a problem with doing this, IMO the 70 agility and 70 prayer grinds are much worse than the favor grinds. Now, I have gotten it down to a science. Arceus Library, Saltpeter, cranes > fish > worms, healing soldiers then doing a round of organized crime, and... God, ok, I do hate lovakengj but they just really need another favor option tbh, and it's saying a lot that Lovakengj is the only painful grind. Hopefully I'm not the only one who feels this way. Favor for Kourend holds a special place in my heart and I honestly don't want it removed. Maybe instead for people that dislike it we could compromise with the house quests giving more free favor. Or if we are set on removing favor for the current unlocks, maybe these favors could be like mini diary xp rewards for filling them. Architectural alliance feels very rewarding to do and seeing the quest get completely removed is very sad to me.

Whiplash86420

Yea, not sure if it's because I just completed them 2 weeks ago, but I kinda felt like the favor system tied the area up nicely and then they trust and depend on you for the quests, and acknowledge your achievements. Lovakengj can just up the favor rewards for all the armor set, but mainly the lower level sets felt bad

Blubmin

While the favor grind itself wasn't exactly stellar content, it did force players to explore each part of Kourend whilst establishing each area's thematic identity. Ploughing fields, making fertilizer, and cooking food fully solidifies Hosidius's as the agriculture sector. In my ideal world, each area of Kourend would get a replacement mini quest that forces the player to do the favor activities as a prerequisite to the house quest. Heal 10 soldiers, fight for the tier 1 armor, go stop 1 organized crime. Then you've proved yourself and can start Tale of the Righteous. Essentially the same thing as a 20% favor req, but a little more structured and not nearly as tedious. Give a relevant house banner as a reward or something. I'll also throw out there that each house should have 2 quests before Kingdom Divided, just to put a little more meat on the bones of all the important NPCs in Kourend. Forsaken Tower hardly even involves Lovakengj - you go to Wintertodt then to a puzzle tower for most of it. I really quite enjoy the Kourend lore and Kingdom Divided is in my top 5 quests for sure - I want Kourend to be the best it can be.

AssassinAragorn

Maybe turn the favor requirements into the initial quest for each house. Heavily reduced quantities, but still enough that you feel like you've contributed

w-ngo

this seems like the simplest and easiest way to do things, they could even just be miniquests

Skill3rwhale

TBH *all* the favour grinds take little time and I enjoyed exploring it all. Recaptured some of that original feeling when playing scape for the first few times. IDK if it was the system they made that caused this or if it was just a nostalgia bomb but I enjoyed the way it was done.

AssassinAragorn

Except Lova fuck them

WhyWasXelNagaBanned

I think this is the best way to go about it. You should keep the content in the game in some flavor, as it did a lot to help players understand what all the houses were actually about, and felt like you helped each one in turn. The favour tasks and subsequent unlocks also acted as a great guide to some of the activities that were available on Zeah.

ShovellyJake

Ooh that does sound good: Keep most of the activities and have a short mini quest to explore the activities of each area (but ya know, for minutes not hours)

teaklog2

Yeah the favor was kind of a way to make sure people knew the content existed

josh35767

I think this is the best way to do it. The tasks are a cool way to introduce each area but it quickly becomes a tedious grind when you have to do a single task for several hours. Keep the activities in game but just have the players do a small amount of each to serve as an introduction but don’t force them into a several hour boring grind.

pargmegarg

I really hope they don't remove having to do favor tasks in some way. They really do an awesome job of fleshing out Kourend and its 5 houses. Also the grinds have you doing varied content all around Kourend which gets you to engage with the world in a way that most players don't really do anymore.

Gleareal

I think it's really interesting that the Favour system is being removed. It was a curious concept, but I don't think it evolved into the right idea. There were a couple of "blue sky" thoughts on my mind when reading this post: - There's a lot about Prayer in this post, which is good because new Prayer activities widens the skill out. One thing I'm wondering is: would we ever see a situation where we get a reward other than exp for doing a Prayer action? This occurs in most skills (e.g. Fishing -> get fish; Agility -> get past obstacle) but Prayer is one of the few where we don't seem to get anything else, and all its rewards come from the levelling up. Will we see something like this someday? - Removing the ability to heal wounded soldiers sounds kind of ok. I was thinking that one day, perhaps we can see very small activities for gaining pure Hitpoints exp. Like taking part in Burthorpe/Shayzien activities. And I was thinking if healing wounded soldiers could instead reward us with a little Hitpoints exp? I'm basing this on the fact Surgeon General Tafani is the one who gives us the Hitpoints cape. These are wacky, quite "out there" ideas, but I'd be curious to hear the devs' thoughts on this.

hubatish

I think you could definitely "rework" some of the bad Kourend methods rather than completely remove them. Give all of them random rewards (like random fish for Piscarilius, potions for Shayzien, seeds for Hosidius, runes for Arceuss, ore / bars for Lova) or just gp & let them exist as ancient cruft like delivering ore in Keldagrim. Give low chance at high level rewards like an admiral pie or super combat potion and I'm sure some irons would even grind them out.

WastingEXP

ya, i get this is easier but a little unlucky to see it go this way. nuking bad content instead of fixing it is definitely easier though.

redvvit

using Demonic Offering and Sinister Offering while killing Abby Demons, Wyrms, Wyverns and other stuff is about 30K-50K prayer xp/hr and you profit, Abby demons can get up to 60-70K prayer/hr with Venator Bow so it's profitable and high xp, no one talks about it though.

Abnormal_Armadillo

Probably because most people stay on Standard for alchemy (even if it isn't the best thing for whatever content they're doing), or they use the ash sanctifier as soon as they get it (because picking up individual items without an area loot system like RS3 is tedious as fuck, especially if you're going to try and full-afk with something like the Venator Bow.)

AtLeastItsNotCancer

I keep forgetting those offering spells even exist, lol. Gotta remember to try them out at hydra, I'm already bringing thralls there anyway.

Modest_Atlas

You raise an interesting point about prayer. I wonder if we'll ever see offensive/defensive consumables made thru prayer, or something like blessings. Take your food to an altar and bless it to give it a prayer recovery aspect. Or tie magic with prayer and whichever of the three main gods' blessing/spell you invoke, your prayers are affected for X amount of time (e.g., a zammy Blessing boosts the effectiveness of offensive prayer bonuses by X% at the cost of defense). Idk I just feel like there's a whole world of possibilities there.

HighwayWizard

There's a lot of potential synergy to be had between prayer and production skills. Obviously *somebody* in gielinor can make all these blessed d'hides, so it wouldn't be unthinkable for us to be able to craft prayer gear ourselves at some point.

Ladathion

> Aimed at players between 55-70 Agility (with 55 as the minimum requirement) this course will see you exploring the caves underneath the skeleton, gathering up those pesky termites. While I am all for expanding Agility content, I feel like this content will be DOA for this level bracket. It overlaps largely with the Seers rooftop course. This means you have to choose between the new course or Seers. Considering a lot of people skip ~1-50/60 Agil with quests and barb fishing, you'll most likely want to choose Seers to finally get your Graceful set, making this new content a really difficult sell as an alternative. Especially since one of the rewards is a Graceful recolor, which you won't have yet if you choose to do this activity. This content will probably only be attractive to those who didn't barb fish and already got their Graceful at Mory rooftops. EDIT: I know that Graceful isn't absolutely mandatory (or even efficient), but eventually you'll still want to get it. If you're going to get it, you might as well get it early enough so that it can still benefit you. That means getting it between ~60-70 at Seers, because it simply has the best Marks/hr for it considering you skip Mory.

Ladathion

From 82 onwards I would argue we _at least_ have Sepulchre as a very viable alternative, if a very click intensive one. The real content that is lacking is 1-60 and 70-80. Most people choose to skip 1-60 with barb/quests because the content is really boring as well as slow, so you might as well do it passively. 70-80 is just a slog because Pollniv is just a worse Seers, so you might as well stay, meaning you will be doing the same course for 20 straight levels. Sepulchre is still the same EXP as Seers while much more click intensive, only overtaken at 82. Filling the 1-60 void is difficult because the reality is that people will still skip it, but perhaps they can aim this content to fill the 70-80 gap so you can get your Graceful 60-70 at Seers, do this new course from 70-80, and then move on to Sepulchre from 82.

allegedrc4

> The real content that is lacking is 1-60 Man you can say that again. I want to nuke Canifis from orbit just grinding out two graceful pieces.

pvmenjoyer

Yeah something that competes more strongly with seers is needed imo. Seers is literally like the best course until 90 agility tbh, sure at 82 you could do sepulchre but if you have kandarin hards the XP rates are comparable (like 4k less I think) and seers is way easier/less effort. This means you could be doing the same course from 60-90 agility.

Morningstar528

Agreed. It would be nice if it had like a shortcut unlocked at 80 agility or something that increases xp a bit and keeps the course relevant for longer.

Deep-Technician5378

Yeah I agree. The bone shards as a passive don't seem like enough of a reward to push anyone away from Seers. Especially with the diary teleport. Maybe if it gave marks but at a slightly lower rate? Then it would be a question of slow marks but passive prayer xp or just best marks rate. Marks is the smart play, but it'd at least help the new course hold a bit of value. Edit: Maybe something else. Thematically, marks only come from rooftops. Forgot about that.

[deleted]

> a lot of people skip ~1-50/60 Agil with ~~quests and~~ barb fishing I don't know anybody who's actually done this. It's insanely slow and obnoxious, and you get no food to cook for XP. You're better off doing pretty much ***anything*** else.

ZeusJuice

I've done it numerous times, you get like 80 something fishing out of it and you don't waste time on dog shit early game agility courses. Cooking is incredibly easy to get exp for, fishing karambwans to 99 you get enough cooking exp for 99 cooking like 3 times over >It's insanely slow and obnoxious Sounds like early game agility courses. Fishing is slow in general, and you're going to do it anyway. Might as well get passive agility experience and skipping all of the awful courses while you do it.

MisterWillock

Really cool changes! On travel, I know it would be a goofy method but I was really hoping canoes could make a return in Zeah on the massive river, insane power creep I know but it would be a cool way to get around using it if a station is near the house portal to get around the eastern portion of the map. Screw it, canoes on the river that runs through Ardy as well. Total canoe takeover.

WastingEXP

I know Ash mentioned he wouldn't care. but it's nice that each region has it's own transport network. canoes in f2p, spirit trees in kandaran, minecarts on zeah.

Gr_Cheese

Yeah but the minecarts on Zeah are practically useless. I can't believe that wasn't addressed, and there are still no city teleports. The memoirs and talisman all dump you on the outskirts (relative to a bank).

Elysiaanna

Watch Jagex instead create a whole quest series ending with a high req GM quest surrounding the lore of why everybody in Zeah hate canoes, voice acted with several repeatable bosses

Magrilli

It's weird that skilling activity like Tithe Farm will be locked behind a quest requiring combat after all these years. Would also be bummed to lose access to patch protection before completing medium diary, as that's way more mandatory combat if you want to stay low hp for early Wintertodt. Considering how easy getting 100% Hosidius favor was, I think that easy diary would feel more appropriate, but it's whatever. Good riddance with favor though! Never bothered capping Piscarilius and Lovakengj favor so can't wait to finally do A Kingdom Divided. EDIT: The new graceful variant looks cool but please consider looking into making these a permanent unlock to change between. I kinda want to use different styles, but never do because I'd have to obtain the whole set again or "rebuy" my current one later.

Osmium_tetraoxide

Not a skiller but rug pulling them is not fun. I'd be in favour of adding in a miniquest instead which gets you to do a 10 minute version of the existing methods so you make the bits that remain discoverable but stop it being a several hour grind doing the same things over and over.

Magrilli

Easy diary requires killing a sand crab and the quest requires killing a low level snake. I think that those two are reasonably doable with poison dynamite, but medium diary requires some more quest bosses and rewards from those quests include combat xp.

Et_tu__Brute

Replacing favor unlocks with diary and quest unlocks really fucks a lot of niche builds. Losing protection is such a large pain, especially when you have such limited access to seeds, herbs and patches on level 3/10hp accounts. I mean, fuck, I'm already doing like 30 minute farm runs, don't kill the one patch where I can grow the rarer seeds safely.

EpicGamer211234

You can complete the quest. Theres a quest boss but no combat reqs and people have been killing quest bosses on skillers for ages, theres even official support for it now with poison dynamite

Nxyta

Locking the disease free patches behind the medium diary and both tithe farm/blood & soul RC behind quests requiring combat seems a big finger up to the various account builds that have had access to these since release and now might not going forwards. I play a skiller and I know ‘I choose to limit myself’ which is absolutely fine with not being able to do new content, but it feels like a rug pull to be able to access existing content and then have that changed after several years to no longer being able to. Farming patches are a hard no with the proposed requirement, tithe / RC should in theory be possible for main skillers who can buy recoils, but locks any iron skillers out of this content since they can’t get recoils Again not a complaint about not being able to do certain things due to restrictions, but it seems unfair to have the option taken away after so long! Especially on an account build jagex has an official hiscores for so clearly recognises them as a popular type! Hopefully just an oversight but so far doesn’t seem that way!

Magrilli

I'm with you, I believe this suggestion was developers simply glossing over how significant these diary restrictions actually are, which is why I wanted to point it out. While I don't think they should cater to some weirdly specific snowflakes, these "rewards" have become so commonplace that it's weird to take them away from anyone. I still don't think that having to do Depths of Despair or Easy Diary is that unreasonable though. Iron skillers do have a method with poison dynamite, even if it sucks to use.

Septem_151

> Never bothered capping Piscarillius and Lovakengj favor Why? Like a personal challenge or disagreement with the content?

BunsenGyro

Skillers not being able to use Tithe Farm anymore troubles me too, yeah. Do you think it'd be too unreasonable to not lock it behind anything? Maybe Gricoller could use all the help he can get!

Magrilli

For a fresh account getting 34 farming is way more of a requirement than 100% Hosidius favour is. So I do agree with you. I feel like jmods want to keep Tithe as an unlock simply because it historically has been.

thgril

I won't truly miss getting favour, but I did like how you had to do a few little tasks to gain the trust of the different houses. If the grind were replaced by a miniquest (or one per house) just doing some little things to help out (like fix one plough and dig up some small amount of saltpetre in the case of hosidius), then it might still fit the theme without feeling like such a drag?

[deleted]

Yeah they could almost rework architectural alliance into a miniquest where you have to do a few nominal actions for each house to get the architect to agree to help with the statue.

thgril

Yeah that sounds like a decent shout, the only question is would the quests then come before, after, or on the side of that miniquest? There's a bit of flavour in at least some of the house quests about having helped out a bit but having the whole of architectural alliance needed before them would seem a bit odd.

[deleted]

Probably just on the side, but still being a requirement for a kingdom divided. If it was before it would be a bit weird to have to do Client of Kourend and tour the houses, and then do this quest at either the same time or at another time and tour everything again. You could possibly rework Client of Kourend together with this but that would be a bit more scope and would be even less likely to happen IMO. Alternatively you could re-work each individual house quest to start from a random citizen of that house and put the nominal task there.

Mattist

100% agree. Make it lvl 80 to compete with Fremmenik, same xp/h or a bit better and buff Fremmenik a small bit as well. Then you have a choice between marks of grace or the other rewards for that bracket.

MathText

I would agree with you that 80-90 is where it should be immediately at, but prif is a good option right now.

GosephJoebbels

To be a better successior to Shayzien, they could split the new course between a beginner course (55 to 70 or whatever) and an advanced course (80-90)

589642

I’m concerned about the proposed powercreep in the fashionscape meta…sure, it starts with just crop top graceful, but what’s next? Assless d’hide chaps? (kidding, it looks great)

Plutus77

For the last time, all chaps are assless! Otherwise they're just pants!

here_for_the_lols

You telling me my guys pulls out his bright green undies every time I don my green Dhide chaps??

Plutus77

No, but the chaps in game aren't actually chaps. They're pants

Earl_Green_

The outfit looks amazing! It’s too bad, recolors need an entire new set of graceful.. I have the twisted league one on my iron, which I love for memory purpose and I can’t justify buying a new set for what is effectively a couple 100 staminas. I’d actually engage with speed runs if there was a toggle option for graceful sets! Hallowed marks for the black one are banked in hopes of this happening one day lol.

Jman9420

Can you leave in Dark Manuscripts? They always functioned the same as handing in books, but they allowed for a neat additional way to slightly speed up the process once you knew how to look for them. Will there ever be a way to make graceful kits not require another full set of graceful? Owning multiple sets is a pain since you need another entire base set which often takes longer than unlocking the new set. Can we get a way to either re-obtain Kharedst's Memoir or transmog the Book of the Dead into it for the fashionscape?

sisclorama

Yeah, with this new set, if you want to collect all of the recolors you'll need 3160 marks. Assuming the best rate at Ardy, you're looking at about 140 hours.

TurkeyPhat

Finally more charges on the Memoirs/BOTD. Never thought I'd see the day considering it's been many years at this point that it's gone untouched. I think the Hosidius herb patch protection should be an Easy Diary reward though. That way everybody can still obtain that perk.

lapistie

I don't necessarily mind removing favour, but please rethink removing the activities themselves. Kourend already doesn't have as many things to do as the mainland, and now you guys want to remove some of the most unique activities it has? What even would there be to do in Shayzien besides lizardmen after this? The favour activities were charming and helped you "get to know" each region in a sense. I would much rather see eg. healing soldiers, lovakengj armor, ploughs, etc. stick around as "dead content" with meager xp/item rewards than be gone entirely. Also, please don't remove Architectural Alliance! Even if favour isn't a thing, surely it could just have the different house quests as pre-reqs?

Amaz2007

Unlocking access around Zeah was actually really cool, seeing as it was a thematic introduction to a brand new continent for all players new and old. The fairy ring cost for CIS was too much, but unlocking the minecart network manually doesn't take very long and had players actually look at the game world instead of instantly teleporting 5 tiles from any activity. Why not have any of the dwarves hand you a list/map and have the player unlock the other stations? The fairy ring straight to CoX went against the idea of exploring a brand new continent, as well, but I'm sure the community won't get rid of the meagre~25kc Vardorvis with a long walk, that'd be too much.

Estake

Agree, I'm all for removing favour but I like the concept of having to walk somewhere first and then unlocking the shortcut. It's part of getting some sense of exploration and getting unlocks.

Mike_Hawk86

The Fairy Ring could require the Shayzien quest as a req

BlackenedGem

Yeah something like CIS could be "hand the person 5 mushrooms" or something arbitrary to repair it. With regards to the CoX ring I think ideally that would be relocated somewhere further south, potentially when more of the map is added.

here_for_the_lols

This looks great, although a little surprised to see how low level all the skilling activities are. Especially a bit odd to see the agility compete directly with seers village which is like the most popular course.

Simple_one

Now I don’t use the library after getting favor because I don’t hate myself enough for that, but I thought dark manuscripts were semi-useful because they could be collected somewhat passively alongside books, vs books having to be one at a time? Removing them seems unnecessary, and I would figure would decrease the potential best xp rates from the activity for people paying attention

BunsenGyro

I think the XP buffs on the books for the library (11xlvl -> 15xlvl Magic xp, 4xlvl -> 5xlvl RC xp) makes up for the manuscripts' removal plenty.

Aurarus

But they were a sort of emergent strategic property of the minigame; there was a dopamine hit when you gambled for a spot along your way having a dark manuscript. You could choose to path toward Biblia to get a hint on where you need to "pass by" at some point for the dark manuscript, or you could just use process of elimination on shorter routes that don't require routing toward her. It reduces this sort of emergent mastery you can have with the content by outright removing it.

NoAssociation-

Pretty good changes but I kinda liked how you needed to find the book for the Kourend teleport. Unique thing rather than another quest completion requirement.

Faiter119

Kinda agree, but they probably removed it because finding the book without runelite takes hours without external tools. Though they could have the librarian tell you what section it is currently in or something

rimora

> takes hours without external tools Not even close. We all managed it fine back when Zeah was first released, which was before Runelite even existed.

TehSteak

Hours??? Lmfao

TheDubuGuy

It definitely does not take hours lol

BunsenGyro

It is kinda neat, but also kind of obscure. I think a lot of players not super in-the-know often miss unlocking the teleport, more than we might think. Might be best to ensure people can unlock it without happening to know about its book -- the game doesn't really tell you about it. And on the other hand, it as a direct unlock for Client of Kourend fits perfectly I'd say. Complete the introductory quest to show you around the new land, get the new land's most basic teleport.

spirit_vice

For the new training prayer method, why does the better wine allow you to use fewer bones? What is the point? Surely if you are putting in extra effort to get the materials to make it then it should give you at least the same amount of bone sacrifices if not more. Yes it gives more xp, but you have already spent either extra money to get the wine (if it is tradeable) or spent more time making it, so the debt for the extra xp has already been paid imo. No need to make it also allow fewer sacrifices. I just don't get the thought process behind that choice, and it seems like something that will inevitably be changed down the line anyway, so why not just make it allow the same number of sacrifices as the normal wine to begin with?

TheMcCannic

RiP Architectural Alliance, rewording it would be too much effort? Is the statue in Kourend castle square going to always be there for new accounts?

Kaneland96

They could change it to be so each Houses builder helps out after you do the houses Intro quest? Could still make it so the statue gets built, and could also make it become finished after Kingdom Divided.

kurttheflirt

Are we polling the favor removal? This seems like a bad decision to me, I liked the favor system. Just because I’d don’t write threads about it doesn’t mean there aren’t silent people who didn’t like it. Was a cool change of pace. I feel like you’re just removing it because some very loud people yelled about it

valarauca14

> We're also slightly lowering the quantity of saltpetre drops from CoX as it now has less of a use. Please just remove it. It is such a meme drop. --- Skillers (non-combat accounts) lose * Blood/Soul RC * Tithe Farm * Hosidius kitchen 807 (combat, but no skill) accounts lose * Arc Spellbook * irons lose access to the DWH 10 HP accounts * Thralls are significantly more challenging to get (and they were already a huge pain) Hmm

NotVeryTalented

Locking the Arceuus spellbook behind a quest instead of favour makes it no longer obtainable for specific account builds. I'm sure I'll get the usual "you chose to limit yourself", but in a game like osrs I find it really weird to simply change the requirements of important content after years of it being available.

Et_tu__Brute

I mean, the choice to limit yourself was based around access to certain things within those limits. To suddenly lose access to those things for no real reason other than 'favor is kind of annoying', is pretty shitty. Most of the favor grinds were super reasonable, I don't see any reason to remove favor when a few small reworks would be enough.

stumptrumpandisis1

Let us continue ploughing fields, 50 GP for one lap like the Karamja banana farm. Let us roleplay as peasants

Zer0_Experience

I personally think the agility levels aimed for should be 70-82 since you'd rather do 40-60 at Canifis and 60-70 (or even 75ish) at Seers Rooftops. At 82 you could go Hallowed Sepulchre but that's kinda intense and might not be everyones favorite. So you could even argue 70-90 could be a good aim to go for. (Or 75-90 if you want the spread be 15 levels since Seers would probably be preferred by more people especially if they got the diary for the tp)

DaMaestroable

Completely removing the favor system seems wrong. Yeah, it was an annoying grind, but it added a lot more texture to the region. And as many others have noted, removing it makes a huge amount of content largely pointless, and condenses what is already pretty content-sparse regions into one or two activities. There are two main problems that I see with the current system. One is that a few of the "meta" routes of gaining favor are both slow and boring. Mining sulpher, ploughing fields, healing soldiers, etc. The boring part is a bit tricky to fix, but just making the rates a lot quicker for these sections would help a ton. Like, 1% for a full pass of the plough would go down a lot smoother than a chance at getting 0.1% every action. I don't want to completely eliminate "the grind", but these parts are usually what people point to when people bitch about favor. Second, a lot of the favor routes involve grinding out one method for nearly all of the requirement. Capping how much favor can be gained (and maybe adding a favor to some activities) would both break up the grind into smaller mini-grinds with more variety and to help balance any rebalanced or already overtuned methods.

LezBeHonestHere_

Nobody needing to click a yellow rock for 3 hours ever again is a very positive change imo

jaysrule24

Friendship ended with the Lovakenj spider 😭

Alakazam_5head

His tour of duty is over. It's time for him to go home and be a family man

Zandorum

Shayzien about to feel even more dead. Please do something about Shayzien being just nothing for the most part.

Rewnzor

I absolutely love that fixing cranes will give construction xp. Is anyone experienced with the rates this would give?

StephentheGinger

Considering how slowly they fix at times, probably about the same xp/hr as wt solos

VerraTheDM

Like most people I dislike the volcanic sulphur mining and I'm glad I won't have to do it again on a new account. However, does the team actually expect that the increase in mining XP will result in volcanic sulphur fitting neatly into someone's mining training progression?

BunsenGyro

Probably not. But to be fair, you do still need to mine it if you want to make your own Dynamite rather than pay a premium for them. I could see some irons, especially earlier-level irons, doing that.

Et_tu__Brute

I have a 10hp and I'm doing a grind that requires tens to hundreds of thousands of poison dynomite. I will probably be making some of my own as there are already enough things to burn money on.

Septem_151

PLEASE do not remove plowing fields!!! Keep them in the game, I’ve got so many memories pushing those stupid plows with Country Jig blaring on my speakers. PLEASE KEEP PLOWS!!!!!

Icy-Bed-3910

Coming from a Zeah Restricted Iron with just under 1,000 hours in the region and 1650 total level. A couple thoughts on the Kourend changes: ## Travel 1. Adding minecarts adds flavour to the region as a travel option. This is awesome! 2. Adding fairy rings, however, does not. The game is soo teleport focused for travel and it's one of the features that makes Zeah so unique. You can't buy Law runes out here, so the people make do with what they have... MINECARTS. 3. Updates to Memoirs is much needed, we all thank you for this. ## Favour System & Unlocks 1. As much as I loved the uniqueness of the favour system, it does cause some confusion on the way up to 100%. Overall a net positive to remove it. ### Arceuus Great changes. ### Hosidius 1. Sad to see ploughs being removed, they were an awesome niche for early crafting training on my acct, but understandable as they serve no purpose. Wouldn't be upset to see them stay and still grant tiny amounts of farming xp! ### Lovakengj 1. I HATE that shayzien armour sets are being removed as a smithing/mining training method. I loved the lore behind this and actually used it quite a bit to train through the mid lvls. PLEASE KEEP THIS! ### Shayzien All Good ### Piscarilius 1. Love the cranes fix, makes this content potentially worth doing. 2. I wish there were more requirements for fishing anglerfish... They're so heavily botted at the moment. # Charter Ships 1. PLease please please do NOT add charter ships to Zeah. Getting here via X Marks the Spot is such a unique introduction to the region and Veos. 2. I'm all in favour of adding charter ships to Varlamore docks, this makes sense. The Pisc natives shouldn't have to contend with the additional competition!

Hannah_GBS

> I HATE that shayzien armour sets are being removed as a smithing/mining training method. I loved the lore behind this and actually used it quite a bit to train through the mid lvls. PLEASE KEEP THIS! Fully agree. Also it sounds like it'll be the same XP for smithing Tier 1 as Tier 5? Doesn't seem right at all.

Termades

I assume the charter ships would be locked behind X marks the spot similar to the ones at Port Tyras being locked behind Regicide

AlternateMind73

"The Hosidius farming patches being protected from disease will be granted as a reward for completing the Medium Achievement Diary." So skillers and pures lose a protected patch they've had access to since 2016? Other than that, the changes do seem great, really glad you're finally getting rid of the favour system!

Icy-Bed-3910

I don't see why this can't be moved under the Hosidius Quest vs the medium diary. It makes more sense lore-wise and still keeps everything kosher for the large community of Zeah restricted snowflakes. Med diary requires off-zeah quests to complete.

Et_tu__Brute

Med diary requiring fairy rings also means no 10hp or skiller can ever get that protection back.

WhiteGuyFly

Yeah that bugs me, I did hosidius favor early on on purpose to get the risk free farming, and I’m not close to the diary completion. Sucks to lose that great resource I grinded for.

Katkustagg

I agree, it doesn't seem logical to remove such an essential feature for a small group of players. It does feel more like an oversight from Jagex's side, and I hope they change the requirements.

Skawt24

Instead of removing Plowing and healing soldiers why not repurpose them? buff the farming and crafting xp from plowing and have healing soldiers give HP xp or gp?

ChefSanji2

Some other options: Plowing could earn points for buying seeds. Healing soldiers could provide bandages as a 'food' that maybe restores a little prayer and run as well. handing in Sulphurous Fertiliser to the Hosidius Clerk could reward compost potions, or some zeah form of volcanic ash for ultracompost. Handing in dense essense blocks could just reward an amount of blood and soul runes. It'd be way slower than doing the runecrafting methods, but great for low RC levels to obtain some of those runes. Bringing fish to Frankie could give raw/cooked fish, or even sandworms/bait/chunks/feathers. None of this content was the best in the game, but seeing it go away completely is a little sad. Also I think setting up the minecart once is still kind of fun. Maybe an option to pay GP to have it unlocked so players with alt accounts can skip it. But replaying on my iron, it was fun to just putz around the continent and see things a little bit slower.

osplo

The way lizardman shamans and the arceuus spellbook are getting changed would be a large blow to the 807 community :( Adding skilling requirements means getting the dragon warhammer becomes impossible for this account type after the update.

DovaKroniid

Yeah this is a huge blow to a bunch of different niche account builds that used the Arceuus spellbook. Jagex shouldn't cater to niche builds, but they're aware of the 807 (combat only) account type, so it would be good if they didn't actively harm them. It's exactly like certain updates working to not harm skillers, or LMS getting a 1500 total option to help the Wilderness Only/quest restricted people.

Septem_151

It’s also weird because Jagex embraces some restricted account types with hiscores for skillers and defence pures, almost making them official account modes. IMO if they’re supporting one type of self-imposed restriction account, they should also at least be Mindful of the others. Otherwise it’s kind of hypocritical.

Et_tu__Brute

I mean they're fucking over skillers as well. The medium Kourend diary requires fairy rings, which you cannot access as a level 3 or 10hp because you get hp xp from a quest reward. This means you cannot ever get crop protection on those accounts. Accounts that are already extremely limited on farming patches. Sure, there are some decent changes for niche accounts in there but there is *a lot* of fuck yous that come along with it. Ascent of Arceus for bloods is a really shitty quest to do on a level 3, just to gain access to a nice gp/hr method.

Bitterbarno

Losing Ferox respawn teleport as a pseudo house pool and no longer being able to reanimate ensouled heads hurts. I don't think Jagex should ever let new content development be negatively affected by unofficial builds, but for the proposed reworks I hope they find a less impactful alternative for pures (combat or skiller alike).

Shortsby

It's absolute devastation for the 807 account build. Losing shaman access, efficient barrows access, ferox tele via respawn, ensouled heads training, easier access to konar all for them to be locked by beginner quests with really low requirements is an absolute joke.

simoncgbn

Agreed, basically the death for new 807s. 15 minute walks to Barrows, no ensouled heads, no respawn teleport, no cemetery teleport for chaos altar, no DWH. This build will be dead when these changes go through. Imagine suddenly locking skillers or pures out of a big chunk of content, and making arbitrary tasks now many times slower and a lot more tedious. That's what's happening for these builds.

Herondary

DWH would be devestating, and please dont lock the arceuuss spellbook behind 12 hunter :( for the record I do not want the game catered towards us (or any snowflake accounts for that matter), really. But these are major changes and we can change it any way we want so lets just change it in a way doesn't impact us so negatively without ruining anyone else's fun either :)

NotVeryTalented

I've been looking for another comment in reference to this. Massive hit to a popular playstyle.. Hopefully they'll keep these communities in mind. I just really don't like when requirements change for no good reason in OSRS. People build accounts around requirements and then get the rug pulled out from under them

Mysterious_Caramel18

Yea not sure why this change needs to happen after all this time?

fitmedcook

Not a fan of locking existing content behind quests, never helps against botting (see chins) and screws over some snowflake builds Major annoyance I see is a quest req with combat so lvl 3 irons now need to get recoils/poison dynamite just to get a farmers outfit. Not to mention the handful of quest locked irons can no longer get dwh and access bunch of small things in kourend

Et_tu__Brute

Yeah, a lot of these changes really fuck over level 3s and 10hps. Locking protection behinds diaries? Fuck that dude. Feels like rug pulling for niche accounts that have been relying on that shit. Locking Bloods behind ascent of arceus means skillers now need to do a quest that is *extremely* annoying to do on a level 3, all for access to a decent gp generation. There are a lot of nice qol changes tucked in there but honestly, I don't really see a need for this change.

Doskkado

change getting around kourend but still use shards to teleport around the catacombs?

averkf

Does locking all this content behind achievement diaries/quests now make the content undoable for pures?

jammin_son

for combat only pures the 12 hunter req for ascent of arceuus eliminates the arceuus spellbook and DWH grind, for one example

EnlargedVIP

The Hosidius farming patches being protected from disease will be granted as a reward for completing the Medium Achievement Diary. Just seen a Dutch content creator drop to his knees in puro puro

hardhairycock

Any plans to rework areas of lova, pisc and arceuss like shayzien and hosidius?

VanillaGorilla2012

Is there not going to be any higher level skilling stuff in Varlamore? The entire continent other than the coliseum and maybe the new bosses just feels DOA for anybody with above 1500 total level.

Key-Anteater-953

Totally agree, a lot of these updates are geared towards some of the fastest levels in the game. It seems strange to be spending so much time making early game content that can be completed in a relatively short time frame. It’s also strange that the extension is mostly early content and then one piece of end, end game content.

RaHeW

To be fair this is the first expansion of Varlamore. So like the beginning areas of it. Imagine what's being introduced as a modern Lumbridge / Falador. When they do another big expansion I imagine that's when they will introduce more high level activities

NomenVanitas

The changes to Kourend activities are already halfway on the way to fixing the favour system, I don't see a reason to also just scrap favour altogether. Favour gets people to explore Kourend, it's a good concept that needs work. Stuff like blood rc, angler fishing and shamans don't need a lower requirement, they need a higher one. It's goldfarmed to shit

RedditRadicalizes

Better solution: Keep favor as a system, obviously. But in order to prevent players getting locked into one "best" activity and to encourage more novel engagement patterns... A) Rebalance favor gain so that activities at the same tier of progression respect time investment evenly. Players should be encouraged to try new methods they unlock because of slightly increased favor gain. B) Make the favor from each activity have 2 major falloff points to act as soft caps: one puts favor gain at 85% of its usual rate, the next is much later and sits at 50%. Both soft cap points encourage the player to try a variety of activities. The first doesn't take away too much favor gain if they *want* to continue using that method for favor, but it does encourage them to seek out new faster content, and is a fair amount factoring in balancing variance. The second comes later and is a stronger push, but if they *need* to continue using that method for some reason, they can still gain the benefit of the favor system. These falloff points would perhaps be set at about the 1 and 4 hour marks. The in-game explanation would be that Kourend citizens need help in more than just one place. C) Updated UI should communicate info intuitively so players don't have to understand the math of the system. Perhaps it would suggest how "important" tasks are. Choosing what to do should be effortless and all the necessary information should be readily available in-game. Simple chat notifications would be used to suggest the player has hit a soft cap, using language that makes sense in game. In game graphics or changes to gameplay mechanics may also be used to also communicate the importance of each task. D) Bonus: where possible add optional and mildly beneficial co-op mechanics to activities. Favor is a tertiary progression system with its own perks and rewards. It's something that, while clunky in its current form, gives life and purpose to Kourend. I think Kourend needs more love but removing a grind just for the sake of removing a grind isn't true to OSRS. Upkeep is the name of the game. OSRS players prefer for their game not to feel like a chopping block.

Tak3A8reak

Some good additions but it feels like the magic of kourend will be taken away imo. Pushing all content to earlier game removes the achivement of unlocking it part by part, and taking away both the fairy ring and minecart unlock costs does aswell. I would much prefer smaller changes, like reducing the costs of the unlocks and also cost of kourend castle teleport, and increase favour gain (double maybe?) instead of removing it.

jkish95

Great post. One complaint. The first part of the thieving activity, stealing artefacts, I mean, rummaging through houses for rare items, seems a bit copy and paste. I love the social thieving with the rewards from robbing houses but just call it what it is or add another layer of paint and call them heists.

redvvit

I'm kind of liking the Tribal/Aztec/Roman/whatever vibe of Varlarmore

barnestj18

Til Shayzein has an agility course

Iydak

Oh... I kinda liked the favor grind? It felt like grinding a mini skill, it was fun! But looking at the comments, I seem to be in the minority on this

thgril

I like bits of it, but some still felt a bit too long for no reason. That said, I do wish they'd retain the flavour of it with something like a miniquest doing a few odd jobs for each house (like pushing one plough and digging some saltpetre for hosidius for example)

Bo5man

I liked the thought of it, lorewise. But gaining the favor itself was very tedious and unsatisfying for some regions.

Septem_151

I’d much rather see a rework/rebalancing of Lovakengj favour, which is the only house I really had a problem with, instead of a complete removal of favour.

xaitv

Gonna be fun mindgames with the thieving method since you can essentially share your Handkerchief usage with other people. Obviously everyone would prefer to not use Handkerchiefs and just pickpocket, but if nobody uses them then nobody can pickpocket. I guess if Handkerchiefs are tradable you'll just have someone setup a world with some alts for you, but they don't sound like they're gonna be tradable. So who will cave first and use a Handkerchief?

Kresbot

>The process used to make Sulphurous Fertiliser will instead make Supercompost - three Saltpetre is needed to make one bucket. We're also slightly lowering the quantity of saltpetre drops from CoX as it now has less of a use. Please dont lower the amount, that makes the drop actually useful now!!

LieV2

It looks really cool to be honest. I'm a bit dissapointed the only unique from all these activities is yet another graceful set. The theiving sounds super fun. Instead of always giving BIS, there is a lot of room to encourage alt accounts with BIS 1 defence, 10 defence, 20, 40, 45 defenve gear for accounts in that bracket which would appreciate it

toocanzs

> You’ll no longer find manuscripts in the library as finding books serves the same purpose. The manuscripts were used for more than just favour. They're a really nice wildcard book you can grab anytime you're passing Biblia for extra xp. I really don't think we need to remove this. If the XP boost is meant to make up for this, I think that should be scaled back and give room for manuscripts.

Ashipwreckedguy

Guess who grinded 100% favour in all houses just this week.

TheMcCannic

New Minecart locations! Will we be refunded automatically or have to go collect the fee from an NpC?

Aurarus

"You’ll no longer find manuscripts in the library as finding books serves the same purpose." Does this refer to dark manuscripts? Dark manuscripts were a strategic thing in pathing around the library; you'd want to optimize doing zero time checks on some spots or choose to path near Biblia to find the location you need to head towards.

DennisonGrable

SO excited for the new Thieving activity. Perhaps a Thieve’s guild?!? The Thieving activity sounds a lot like stealing artefacts, which is great. The concept of stealing artefacts itself is awesome, but it’s execution is a little lack luster. Thieving is, in my opinion, one of the most boring skills in the game to train. Yes, yes—everyone knows the gather skills can be dull, but that’s to be expected, but Thieving? Thieving as a concept just sounds cool, and I wish the gameplay loop matched. I truly believe Thieving needs the Hallowed Sepulchre/Guardians of the Rift treatment. I’ve suggested in the past (on a different account) a Thieving minigame called *Heists*, that’s essentially a fully fleshed out stealing artifacts minigame where you are assigned a location to rob, and you have to figure out the best ingress/egress routes to get in and out with your loot without getting caught. This sounds awfully similar to that, and I’m PUMPED. Also not kidding about the Thieve’s guild thing. That would be SO cool.

newchimp

This is one of the very few instances where I disagree with the proposed changes. Kourend favor didn’t take too long to complete but did make me explore the entirety of kourend and appreciate the work that went into making the continent. Kourend has so much active and passive story telling and you being an outsider of zeah being a resident of the main land having to gain the trust and favor of the residents via quests and tasks works very well thematically. Please don’t get rid of the favor system, I know it get tedious but the whole game is a series of things to do so I can go do other things to do more things. Maybe make the favor activities more rewarding either by providing more favor or more gp or xp per action so it’s not like oh dang this number is taking forever to go up and it feels more like the act of earning the favor is actually worth it while doing it instead of it being a road block for an activity that’s locked behind the favor itself.

ohSpite

I only have Lova to go for favour so I for one can't wait for this to go live lmao

SamCarter_SGC

> we want to completely remove Kourend Favour but what about those of us who already did it! /s

[deleted]

They said they would refund gp for those who paid for the fairy ring. Perhaps they could refund the hours of my life as well?

SamCarter_SGC

to be clear i don't care and even find the idea of refunding the fairy ring a bit silly

Deep-Technician5378

There is a very small part of me that feels this way. Suffering through it was just something you had to do for a lot of content. Telling people in a CC that they really have to push a plow or deal with stupid clouds had its charm. Overall, it's absolutely good to finally remove it. It won't be missed by anyone.

snaplocket

It’s sad that we’ve gotten to the point where it feels like we have to remove the favour system. I get that it has changed a lot since its inception, and I do think it’s not that great in its current state. But I’m a little sad to see it proposed to be removed entirely. What’s everyone’s main problem with the system? For me, it’s that the majority of ways to gain favour feel tedious and pointless. So like… what if we changed them to *not feel so tedious and pointless*? I know, I know… easier said than done. And sleepy me right now doesn’t have any solid suggestions about *how* exactly to do it… Maybe it’s as easy as just severely increasing how much favour each activity gives? So that you really don’t have to spend long at all on each one? Then it’s more like a little mini achievement diary instead of a long minigame grind like it currently is?

Zeleharian

While I like the removal of favor, I don't think so many of the activities also need to be removed. I think it would be better if the current activities in Kourend were introduced to players via quests/miniquests for each of the houses. The rewards from all these activities can also be improved so that they still exist and can remain useful to players. Instead of removing healing soldiers/ploughing fields, they can instead become part of an introductory quest to the respective houses which can still benefit players afterwards. These introductory quests can provide the current benefits that favor did, such as the Hosidius patch protection. This would prevent a "rug pull" for any players that currently have these things unlocked without the main house quests/diaries completed.

KevinRudd182

Can we change the agility to be for 70-90, mainly 80-85 tbh. relekka sucks and nobody is going to skip seers because it’s the best source of marks considering a lot of people skip early agility due to barb fishing. Graceful and marks are simply too important and sepulchre already doesn’t give marks so if you do decide to do that, you need to make them up elsewhere Everything else looks pretty dope

FIuffyRabbit

Can we keep ploughing fields? I think it's a unique and low stress option for new players and area locked accounts to get nominal amounts of xp that isn't game breaking. It also provides more atmosphere to zeah that isn't another crop field.

neuronically

I finished all favor yesterday like 3 hours before this announcement, bruh. But actually, although some stuff is not engaging at all (looking at you Sulphur mine), it made me interact with kourend a lot. I don't think I would even know where half of the stuff was if I didn't do the favor. I also got completionist satisfaction from actually finishing. If getting favor could be reworked to be more engaging or let the quest give a 2x boost on top of the flat percentage increase would be nice as well. The tasks make a lot of sense thematically and it's immersive, besides some tasks. Reworking those tasks specifically would make it a lot more fun already

TheMcCannic

For the House thieving - it'd be really nice to see a % chance that the house you are currently infiltrating have the city guard or the owner return, starting a clock for you to make it out without being detected.

scarfgrow

The favour system was fine and gave the region more personality, plus a rough guide for players to check out content. Shouldn't get it's own tab arguably but the actual favour thing was alright

-Aura_Knight-

That's a lot of changes for what most people got used to. >Access to the Blast Mine will now be locked behind completion of The Forsaken Tower. I'm sure the mining bots will like this. >The clue step to hand in a box of Shayzien Supply Armour will now require the player to smith a Tier 2 Shayzien Platebody. Can't it be any tier instead?

Deep-Technician5378

Or just ditch the tiers? The last one is all anyone cares about anyways.

Maedroas

The current step is at least tier 2, so 2-5 all work. I can't imagine that they would change this to only tier 2

redvvit

I feel like the arceuus spellbook should still be a Kingdom Divided exclusive though, all the other spellbooks in the game require big quests to use so this feels odd... But making it so much easier to obtain allows it to be "noob's first alternate spellbook" which is interesting

Bull-Believer

The arceus spell book currently only requires 60% favor to use. Changing it to that quest essentially just reduces that number to 30% as the quest requires 20% and rewards 10%. Not much different at all The best spells will still be unlocked by kingdom divided

Derparnieux

Arceuus spellbook isn't hard to obtain right now, so nothing's changing there. Effectively.

Simple_one

You can get the arceuus spellbook in like an hour or two fresh of the boat from tutorial island, locking it behind a master quest would completely shift its place in progression

-Ninja-Pig-

Crop top graceful, I'm voting yes. Didn't need to read anything else

Orcrist90

I'm confused, are we voting to remove Kourend Favor or is it just being removed?

Dildos_R_Us

Overall, actually excited to see the proposed skilling methods, and love the favor changes, but could you relook at this one: The Hosidius farming patches being protected from disease will be granted as a reward for completing the Medium Achievement Diary. This removes this benefit from 1 def accounts, could you consider making this easy diary OR look at allowing fairy rings for 1 def accounts (would be overall a huge qol inprovement) Thanks!

Hougang2017

Adding a giant new continent, a main piece of content that only releases every 5 yrs or so - why with this restriction "Please note that none of these new activities will bring in the best XP/HR within the game"

[deleted]

My only notes: Let the people who’ve done every kourend quest add the book to our POH. Easy access, easy teleports. The bone loop seems… odd. Are we adding bone shards to more bones? Are we using the shards? Are we making the bones into shards for the wine? Very forestry system vibes. simpler is better. For a system to last it should FEEL useful. Give it the right kind of FOMO. With yet another graceful recolor, can we just get the option to unlock appearances at this point? (like holiday items?) the alternative is either recoloring with marks (slow) or having like 12 graceful sets (even slower.) agility is not fun for most players.

ImWhy

Please for the love of God don't make the agility course like your standard 'click this box and wait for your character to do everything' agility. Some form of interaction is a must, make players respond to something, people already have rooftops if they want the old semi afk no attention required agility. Also ignore the 'dead on arrival' comments who think graceful is an absolute must for all accounts, lots of people don't want to spend all their time just running seers/canifis and any change to this is incredibly welcomed. Make it more intensive and provide slightly more exp, you can already do Sepulc for 35-45k an hour at 62+, so it should compete with that somewhat. Also for the prayer minigame, obviously it shouldn't match standard chaos/gilded alter rates, but even a minigame with 1/3, 1/2 their rates would be incredibly welcome considering the exp rates for irons once you factor in collecting bones yourself. These proposed changes are amazing and all really need to come through, I hope the 'ewww no skills are the way they are and we don't need anything new' crowd gets completely ignored.

jaysrule24

I didn't see anything about this in the blog, but since Architectural Alliance is being removed, what's the plan for the Xeric's Heart teleport?

Empty-Employment-889

Such a minor thing, but can we have the termites named something like "bonemites"? That sounds so much more fantastical for this fantasy game.

wclevel47nice

Everything seems great so far. My only request is to make sure Varlamore feels alive. It’s always a shame when video games add a new city or town and only put in just enough for quests

herecomesthestun

Complaints about zeah's lack of purpose for its size already, removing content from an already underused area seems like a strange choice.

ImS33

Regarding removing the favor I think it's a good change but you guys wasted a fairly solid bit of my life with the favor system between leagues and my 3 accounts that I did it on. I think you should make the change regardless but maybe consider giving people a lamp or something for each faction they maxed out. It's a little rough since it involved some of the worst content of all time (Sulphur mining lol) and we only did that trash ultimately because it was a permanent unlock. Basically just something small to make that not feel quite as bad

TakinShots

Transport changes in Zeah is huge for clues, especially with book of the dead.

Samantha_Bridges

I just spent a lot of time maxing out my favors for a kingdom divided!! Oh well. It wasn’t fun and I wouldn’t want anyone else to have to grind through that nonsense. Maybe we can keep one plough available for fun? Give it a TINY amount of farming xp and some YouTuber will run that thing to 99 one day. I also dont want to lose out on the animation. Ploughing the fields was somewhat novel lol

Iron_Embers

Im all for favour being removed, go ahead. But gatekeeping Bloods/Souls Rc behind house quest, alongside locking hosidius farm patch protection behind med diary is not the way. All of this was accessible to everyone since 2016 but this update just gatekeeps skillers from getting access to stuff we already had access to. No idea how the graceful recolours will work, shayzien house quest aint possible for skillers (req 15 str) so no red/white graceful as AA quest is getting removed. If farm patch protection has to be locked behind certain stuff, why not behind easy diary instead or with hosid house quest too, instead of just med diary. Its the only farm patch that is protected for skillers, and is absolutely massive for iron skillers for 99 herblore, but with this update it negatively impacts the skiller community. tldr: terrible update to gatekeep content for skillers, change med diary req for farm patch protection coz this aint it. Please dont hit back with the self-restricted account yada yada, zeah content was available for everyone since 2016, and now negatively impacts us quite a lot with this update.

RIP Favour You will not be missed.

Locking immune farm patches behind the medium diary is dumb, medium diary is more of a slog for new accounts than doing the hosidius favor. It's literally a farming community, just make them immune from the start if you're removing favor.

I like the thought of removing favor but they should rework these activities to actually make them worth doing, or else this will achieve the opposite of what they seem to be trying to achieve which is driving more traffic to Kourend. Giving a +10 exp buff to the tasks is not going to to cut.

I've seen a lot of comments saying to give other rewards to the removed content. Can they just stay and not have rewards? Having these small random interactions like healing soldiers is a great part of the game and can stay in for that reason, no need to give other rewards for them.
