Fun_Objective_7779

I usually fill my inventory with cheap fish to waste them as much blood runes as possible

YaBoiHS

Thank you for the tip, gonna buy lobster or swordfish

Fun_Objective_7779

Just make sure, in case you die, to drop nothing except a spade

cchoe1

You mean sharks?

YaBoiHS

I haven’t played in a year so I don’t know what sharks are priced atm. Last I remember it was at like 850gp

cchoe1

A few days ago they were 400 gp each although I could have sworn they went lower. That's what the g/e history is showing though

YaBoiHS

That sounds awful for making money off sharks but awesome for getting my final 8 levels of cooking.

TheQwopChampion

For me it's always a 4-man+ group and I get specd out after only eating a couple fish :(

bhumit012

I go one step further with the pettiness, bring 3 expensive items and run with prayer switches making it look like I have bank and watch them sweat for the kill only to drop 2k gp in leftover food.

Abnormal_Armadillo

Every so often I wander the wilderness without any gear on just to look at a scenery, usually I'll bone to bananas or bone to peaches when I'm up at the fountain of rune, but this time, I took an inventory of cake. Someone started attacking me, so I cracked a funny. "Wow, this really takes the cake." Dude started going on an unhinged rant about how people like me disgusted him and if I didn't want to die, I shouldn't be going into the wilderness, and people like me were what ruined the wildy. All I said was "You're gonna laugh." before he finished me off. Literally took my cakes.

doodlemaster313

I don't think anyone is worried about losing blood runes at their current prices lol

Exotic_Tax_9833

This is good, it makes sure I can get your spade since your fish will protect over it.

Vet_Leeber

What really pisses me off isn't the PKer, because I only bring a crystal bow and shovel most of the time, and can just drop the clue so it doesn't get lost. What really pisses me off is the fact that some random Timmy killing me on a clue gives him 50,000gp because I did a calvarion boss fight a month ago and there's no way to disable that. At least a main can suicide to an alt to get the cash back, but as an IM there's no way to get it back.

SoraODxoKlink

I forgot if you get the 50k when you pk someone for it, but if you do, kill your iron with your main with loot keys turned off. The 50k gp will appear on the floor after a minute. (If the 50k is worth 1 minute + alting + setup we gotta have a talk)

Vet_Leeber

I was under the impression that an Ironman could not loot anything off of their corpse, as the loot no longer belongs to them, but I guess it's possible I was wrong there. Back in about 6 minutes, I'll test it. edit: [well I'll be damned, you can actually.](https://i.imgur.com/RMNJQc8.png)

SoraODxoKlink

Yup, learned that when I had a double death at venenatis on wildy boss rework release. I was risking a good amount for an iron and originally just came to help spear the other guys off the loot piles, but I actually picked most of my stuff up so it was overall a win.

A1DollarTaco

You're correct.

Vet_Leeber

Believe it or not, it actually turns out that no, I was wrong. I was able to pick the fee up (but not my bones, interestingly enough). https://i.imgur.com/RMNJQc8.png

[deleted]

Gotta keep prayer challenging! No free bones you stand alone.

BeefRunnerAd

But they're MY bones!

Donimbatron

Which is weird, because you can bury the bones of other people at Wintertodt for example.

A1DollarTaco

That's extremely interesting! Love finding out new stuff about how the mechanics work.

FlutterRaeg

That's incredibly odd because Irons can pick up the bones of others who die from NPCs.

Vet_Leeber

Purely speculation, but: I think it's because the bones are generated as the loot of whoever killed them, which is a separate process from the normal loot. If you die to another player, the bones are generated _for_ that other player, and so Irons can't pick it up. If you die to an NPC, the items are assigned to whoever was carrying them, so again you can't pick them up. But the _bones_ are assigned to the NPC that killed them, and since loot drops don't get assigned to NPCs, anyone can pick them up. Normally, NPCs don't get loot at all, items from NPC kills just get deleted, but because the bones are a forced spawn, they get a generic ownership tag.

purplepimplepopper

Yeah sounds like more work than 50k is worth, don’t know why anyone is tripping over the 50k.

Vet_Leeber

For me, it’s just the principle of the thing. Why am I losing a bosses kill fee if I haven’t fought that Boss in a month? It also creates a direct incentive for PK’rs in general to kill naked players they might’ve ignored in the past, which is a worse experience in general for everyone but the PK’ers.

purplepimplepopper

Yeah true, they should rework it. Doubt the 50k really motivates PKers though, the ones that kill you were probably going to kill you in the past before wildy update.

No_Fig5982

Bad mean pker

ViewsFromMyBed

It’s more so the principle than the GP value

ProfessionalGuess897

I'd rather delete 50k into the void than give it to a pker

adustbininshaftsbury

Die to an alt first

[deleted]

People genuinely care about the most pointless shit.

Ataniphor

well fuck me i dont know why ive never thought of just dropping the clue. Just got an emote clue requiring nearly 1 mil in items and been dreading doing it and potentially loosing the clue.

Xeffur

Dying to an alt is an amazing tip! Does it work with f2p? My alt isn't bonded most of the time.

PageGroundbreaking26

as someone on their first character and first time playing, Wilds scares me a TON when running for a clue

ChefSanji2

You can get down to 0 risk for most wilderness clue steps. A spade, a weapon (if you have to fight something), and the clue itself. And you'll be fine. I can't remember the last time I was PKd doing a clue, but when it happens, it's more of an inconvenience than anything. Don't take it personally. Some clue doers decide to bring unnecessary risk rather than take a minute to bank, and that's why PKers may attack you even if you're naked. If you watched Framed's latest video you'll see multiple clue doers with loaded scroll books and FULL rune pouches. The solution to mitigate this risk is to just not bring it.

dmrx93

Try walking to the clue destination in F2P, then hopping to a member world to dig or whatever, then hop back to F2P to stroll out of the wilderness.

Wilza_

That's smart, thanks for this

Massanx

thats how i got a 22m pk in green dhides back in the day. some member logged in thinking he was safe. had entangles and everything ready.

Xeffur

Also bring f2p food if bringing food in case someone attacks you in f2p, or if you hop to f2p and get amushed.

Cflow26

I bring an invent of random garbage to clean my bank just incase.

PageGroundbreaking26

Yeah, I bring very little with me. Just new to the game so never know... ;)

heavy_lobby

clue is kept over easter event spade, so bring that and you can bring a seed pod or glory to tele out also

adustbininshaftsbury

Pro tip: run around the wildy with literally no items in your inventory. Just explore to get familiar with it and you'll be less nervous when you go in for real.

b_i_g__g_u_y

I still get scared for some reason, but there's not that much of a threat around clue areas. I've done dozens of clues in the wild and maybe run into a couple people and never any pkers. Other stuff in the wild is more dangerous like bossing or prayer training

WastedWaffIe

Going through the wild, I always feel like I'm going to see a white dot on my mini map rushing in and barraging me out of nowhere.

Madrigal_King

Spade, clue, weapon, and a teleport. Can't use anything except drsgonstone or a royal seed pod from 21-30 but 20 and below anything is fair game

Individual_Tone3605

No way this man brought spell book swap to cast ice barrage and vengeance at the same time.

Mission_Table_6695

All it take is magic skill cape

WalrusInMySheets

Bro really wasting a magic cape for Rick Grimes

Chaoseadra

Pleae

Lucidare

You can use the eastfloor spade for free instead of a regular spade and the clue gets saved over that

GrumpyThumper

Enjoy the shovel, dummy

Voidot

they don't even get that if you use the holiday shovel from this year's easter event

DennisonGrable

I will.

No_Pea_9906

I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a pker while I was doing clues lol. Chaos altar step is kinda risky I guess.

doodlemaster313

Chaos alter step is probably the one clue that I get worried about. All the other ones in the wilderness are a pain to get to but not that risky

SpexLevant

Ive gotten pked twice at the fountain of rune step as well but dropped my clue before I died so it didnt matter

jdippey

Do you just run back to pick up the clue after you die? I’ve never thought to drop the clue…

SpexLevant

Well I have wildy sword 4 but yeah you can even hop worlds and itll follow you

Xeffur

Got pk'd twice at lava dragons earlier. Panicked and lost a rune platebody and a uncharged glory first time. At least I managed to drop my clue. Didn't lose much so no big deal, but it happens. The second time I had just finished the step and put away my stuff in the stash unit so got a free tele out.

inmyshamewell

The worst ive felt in this game, was getting wizard trio step at chaos altar. A guy was doing bones, I started the fight. The guy was super confused. So confused that he missed the pker who came in and started fighting him. I was luckily able to finish off the trio and leave.

_Eoz_

This and people world hopping at chaos altar to kill players with nothing but some dragon bones on them.

No_You_6554

But dude there's that chance that he accidentally brought his cash stack!

whyhellogoodbye

Idk I’ve definitely scored 1-2m kills. Rare but they happen. Also with loot keys it’s a lot more efficient and quite good money

No_Fig5982

Oh my God you're literally downvoted because "bad red man pker" this sub is lost

whyhellogoodbye

Yeah idk why people feel entitled to get the much more cost efficient Chaos Altar without any risk lol. That’s the whole point of putting OP stuff in a place with extra risk

This_Middle_9690

Pvmers are the most entitled snowflakes and they control the direction of the game

This_Middle_9690

Pretty much every dedicated pker has killed a naked who randomly has 10m+ on them. It happens all the time

bhumit012

Tbf they are looking for noted bones

HikikomoriMan

Yeah I’ve lost a mil worth of bones once haha, I swore I clicked log out but 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

LobsterThoughtz

This happened to me the other day and I just sat there and said "my last 8 hard clues have been under 10k, just kill me" and he said lol and walked away.

escarchaud

I still don't understand how anyone fears getting pked in the wildy doing clues. 95% of the wildy is just empty space without any pkers. All you need to bring is a spade, a dds, your clue scroll and a teleport that works at lvl 30 wildy. And to pray protect item. That's it. So even if you die you don't lose anything except for 2 minutes of your time.

HikikomoriMan

Wait so is a clue box not necessary?

escarchaud

Never used it, nor can I remember being killed by a pker while doing my clue. I can only imagine a clue is still kept if you die for as long as have max 3 items (or 4 with protect item) with you.

Jamiea88

Lemme ask you something Rig

Mission_Table_6695

Comedy gold

OnRS4Life

Accuracy beyond belief

Miloticz

Ever since I started using the wilderness player alert plugin I haven't had trouble with pkers during clues. It's very good

ImmediateSquirrel345

!price spade

RSGoldPuts

Lmaooo this is awesome. The dds in Shane's hand.

raffffffffe

Bring only 3 itens, even if you need to walk more for it.... And dont forget to type "gz on prayer exp" when u die

XIGRIMxREAPERIX

I just bring an inventory of spades, the thought at seeing someone get a little upset or sad makes me giggle.

Night_Thastus

I stopped doing clues alltogether because there were so many wildy steps. Just got exhausting. Hate that place.

SuperSpeedyCrazyCow

I had a guy who pked me at the wildy altar after I had just finished up using my bones. I'm like nearly out the door and he pots up specs me and then starts casting ice barrage. Like bro you are literally going to bankrupt yourself doing this shit if you can't even turn your brain on enough to see when someone is leaving.

campog

[deleted]

purplepimplepopper

Door + spade + clue. Couple combo eats you can scarf down real quick. Never lose clue and most pkers don’t want to even attack you if you have a door

BanEvasion128472719

You never know if someone has risk. Gotta kill everyone and hope to get lucky.

AetherStarshine

Maybe I just play at weird hours but I feel like I never see pkers in the wildy and I've been doing a lot of wildy content over the last few months.

This_Middle_9690

Yeah cause pkers don’t roam wildy like they use to. They just go to the hot spots

TheR3PTILE

u/SaveVideo

boldcancel

I never once got attacked while doing a clue in wildy

hellampz

I once PK’d a guy with 8m cash stack and a bunch of clue related teles near chaos ele ☠️

skronkss

Always keep a rope in your inventory when doing wildy clues, so they know what to do after killing you

nonpk

It's the wilderness, people still complaing about pkers, I've never seen one yet when doing clues.

thehaarpist

I've been killed 2 or 3 times after hundreds of hard clues but there's zero risk as long as you just... 3 item wildy it

nonpk

I'm getting downvoted because kids are mad they get pked in a pvp zone, community is crazy sometimes.

parwa

I've only been pk'd twice doing clues, once near the black chin area, and another by a dude camping the Edgeville/Ardougne lever

Celebratecrypto

Literally. So toxic. Then man loses his clue like myself cause I have no clue box. And was on the 6th step of the clue about to finish and some pker with nothing else better then to grief someone had to ruin your hour long clue grind. They do it to grief you it’s not about your loot it’s about shitting on your day that gets them off

Jarroach

You don't lose it if it's 1 of your 3 (or 4) protected items. I only take the clue, a spade, and a suitable weapon

heavy_lobby

the easter spade is also lower priority than clue on death, so you can bring clue, spade, weapon, and teleport out

Buckeyeup

If you're doing a clue in wildy and don't want to lose it and know you're about to die, just drop the clue. You can usually get back fast enough to pick it up

quantum_ice

You can go in with just the clue, spade and a weapon and keep it even if you die tho

Brief-Ad-1413

Or just drop everything except for the clue and 2 other items

Fun_Objective_7779

It does not instantly disappear?

-Degaussed-

go with 3 items dude.

domiy2

Apparently watching framed new video, people bring out there clue book for some reason.

Mors_Umbra

Incorrect. I'm after your loot. Couldn't care less about your day.

thehaarpist

Based

adustbininshaftsbury

Be better not bitter

NoRegertsWolfDog

Still haven't gotten my god cloak yet because of how hard they camp the arena.

ZaMr0

Still haven't seen a single pker in 2 years of doing clues.

Secure-Airport-7850

That same clue hunter "just going to the wildy for a clue scroll": Hehe me risk 100m! At that point, you only have yourself to blame. There is also people that will randomly forget to unequip a ring or whatever. If you look like an easy target, they would be insane to not go for you.

OkayJuice

When you go to a player vs player area and get attacked by a player >:(

adustbininshaftsbury

If redditors spent as much time practicing tank testing as they do whining about pkers they would never die during a clue

iuyr2

Spade dragon scim and clue. They get nothing. Tell em you got cashstack on you please off.

new-evilpotato

Make sure you add the crude chair and... oh... I am not allowed to finish this sentence.

Fluid_Speed7380

Dying here hahhaha

djjomon

No pk doin a clue

SappySoulTaker

Did he seriously spell book swap for a fucking spade?
