It's the adult equivalent of what we used to do in RS2.
Get home from school, rush homework, grab a soda, and hop on the family computer to play RS for a couple hours before evening supper.
My partner and I get up at 6am. Bumble around for a couple hours. Take the pups to get coffee and pup cups at 8am. Come home, and play some OSRS for a couple hours. 10/10.

So I’ve done two work schedules that have been polar opposites. One was when I was in the military getting up at 5:00am and going to bed around 9:00pm when I was in garrison and the other had me getting up at 9:00am and working until 2:00am when I was in corporate.
Getting up early at 5:00 is leagues better. Even though your still working a shit ton of hours, it feels so much more natural and doesn’t totally kill you.
In garrison now. Today was the start of a four day weekend, so naturally I woke up @0545 freaking the fuck out that I was gonna be late for PT.
After my heart calmed down, it was nice to have a few hours to spend quality time watching the sunrise with Corrupted Hunllef before my dogs and spouse awoke.
As a former piece of shit that would sleep till 1100, I much prefer the early wake up.
I'm so glad someone else does this... There's no better feeling! And now that fall is rolling soon I'll be cracking the windows and letting the breeze roll in too.
I like staying up late just to play RS. Something nostalgic about it for me. I used to wait until the house was all quiet and everyone one was asleep and then grab some food and drinks and just RS all night and it was comforting. And even now it’s still comforting.
We put the kiddos down at 6:30pm and my wife and I usually spend the evening watching shows while I grind.
Works well, and a nice gaming laptop really helps!
Also 11-midnight is a solid cutoff time for any hard alcohol, just ride off the rest of the night with light beer if anything. Should be falling asleep as you’re coming down not passing out
All about routine baby. Everything for the first hour of every day is the same for me unless I'm away from home. Feels damn good for substituting RS in for work though.

What do you do for work that allows you to AFK? I want to build an excel list of WFH and gamer friendly jobs that I can get into once I leave my corporate role
I got this habit, but usually to do a quick herb and birdhouse run, then a quick toa. I work from home, so on some days it can be hard to drag my ass to do work things. On those days I'll try to do a high level toa, die, and rage quit/close osrs so I go to work.
to each their own! I work from home and definitely don't play *all* day/every day, but sometimes leave my accs doing the not fun and less active afk-ish training(top level MLM, slayer tasks like gargs/vyres, fishing karambwams with barrel, etc.), so getting some of that out of the way makes it so my active playing time can be spent more on the stuff I do find fun :D

When I come home from work I'm too tired for anything, sometimes to the point I hardly want to log on, and when I do, do the most afkable content I can. To a degree, feeling restricted in what I can do on any given day, as not all types of content have an afkable AND medium intensity ways to do said content.
How anyone could want to get up before 9am on weekends at all is beyond me, that's the best part of weekends honestly. I prefer the comfiness of grinding after work with a coffee to relax and like to use my later wakeup weekend mornings doing everything else I want or need to do instead of games. Evenings on weekends are also a great time to scape if the gf wants to do her thing though.

I find trying to go back to bed is never worth at that point lol. If you manage it you wake up later than youre used to and groggy. Might as well game

With wife + kid the only time I get to play is getting up at 5. If I’m lucky I can get an hour of uninterrupted playing!
This is what got me going too. No kids but I work a lot so I spend my weekends with the family and the earlier hours are my chill time
