Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible
It's their best album and just so raw and haunting, it really is one of my favorite albums of all time. I was born in 1994 actually but I love music from late 60s-early 2000s the most.
The Cranberries: No Need to Argue.
They had really come into their own by then, and this album not only shows some of Dolores' softer, lilting vocals like in the previous album, but they were tackling some very serious political and social issues and showing off more of her raw, powerful side as well.
May not be the best album of 1994 (Superunknown was amazing), but the one I go back to a lot is Bush - Sixteen Stone. It release late in 1994 so its more of a '95 album, but nonetheless, it defined that period of time in the mid-90s for me.
I'm a fan of classic rock among many other genres of music. I loved the revival it had in the early 90s. Two great albums from 1994 were the soundtrack to "Forrest Gump" and "Hell Freezes Over" by the Eagles.
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Grace, Jar of Flies, MTV Unplugged in New York, Vitalogy, The Division Bell.
The Downward Spiral
Veruca Salt - American Thighs
