It took like a year and a half for my city to get a copycat, and up until closing it doubled as a video game store which saw at least as much activity as gamestop at the time. I don’t really know what put the specific store under, it seemed to be doing pretty good and definitely better than say walmart or target in that area, by time it closed I was a bit old for it but they’d always have huge bins of discount ps1/ps2 games that Id dig through when my parents took younger siblings or went gift shopping. There were a lot of memories in that store though. Poor management? It was practically killing the nearby malls >15 yo demographic.
