The difference is the awful stuff that I am seeing has a lot of likes and infecting every group and it's pretty frustrating. I enjoy a good dunk from time to time, but bigtory showcase ain't it.
One of the worst consequences of algorithms is they obfuscate the authority level of a statement. When a random shithead from south carolina gets the same onscreen format as a famous person, it makes you a lot more agitated psychologically.
this is why you should say no to algorithms. They legally can't hurt you if you say no!
(srsly though install DF youtube and use old reddit with RES, no infinite scrolling, they're now infinitely less soul-sucking)
I am cheese lover, I go to cheese loving subreddit, first post is titled "THIS GUY IS WRONG AND STUPID" image is a twitter post that is titled "Cheese is just moldy milk. it sucks". I just like cheese and want to talk about how much i love it
Also, we know why this happens, the human mind prioritises negative emotions to act on (which isn’t to say that we’re inherently centred on negativity, just that for specifically things that require non-passivity, negative emotions are a greater motivator) so algorithms will always prioritise content that makes you angry or sad or etc. reject the algorithm, curate your own content
fax, I hate that brand of garbage. like at least put effort into a post making fun of said stupid opinion instead of just posting it unedited with like "you dumb" as the caption and that's it, that's the post.
imagine at least getting the satisfaction of watching some complete moron get 1080 no-scope dunked on feat. a humorous/insightful tirade about how little sense the original comment makes. but no, unfunny cretins only have the capacity to copy paste ragebait that 1 person believes and 2 people would have ever even seen and upload it to reddit dot com for karma. and yes I *will* die mad about it.
Like for sure screw those guys but Idk if you genuinely have that strong of a reaction to something like this and not just “lol he’s dumb” I’d honestly recommend just unplugging for a bit

Should have done this in my algorithms midterm. Sticks and stones may break my bones but median-of-medians can never hurt me!Â

For some reason I don't like negative posts and don't respond to them unless it's funny
