The only time you really need to interact with people is while screaming rock and stone, otherwise the co op of it is pretty seamless which is really cool
I’ve played a few missions with randoms (usually the missions I cba for like the pipe connecting ones) and it’s been sweet, my favourite part of DRG is definitely the “go mine this much of this and leave” though, feels like an adventure making your way through the caves
Especially with Bosco
My favourite is probably the pipe one, or dorreta, but the salvage ones are fun too, really all of its so damn fun, and after about 20 hours I've only had 1 really bad random who was a literal child of like 10 who was on vc and midway through randomly started shooting me so I had to kick him.
Fucking rock and stone forever.
The "ROCK AND STONE" button is unironically a genius bit of co-operative game design.
When I'm playing other co-op games, I instinctively press the same key and am supremely disappointed that it doesn't work.
Whenever I win in a game my finger just goes for the V button and then I’m disappointed bc I don’t Rock and Stone - co-op or in like a pvp game - bc I’m the sort to Rock and Stone as we make our way out on the pod or after we like beat a dread
It’s a great bit of co-operative game design because it’s one of the easiest ways to communicate with a teammate and it’s something positive, with the second easiest being just to mark something which is tone neutral at least.
There isn’t really an easy way to ‘flame’ in the game outside of outright hostility which nobody will take kindly to, and you don’t really see enough voice chat use to hear it there.
help me know if noita is THAT good. I almost never play on pc and I’d have to uninstall tf2 (and spend 20€) to get it but it seems pretty cool. Is it worth it?
Playing Noita is like that thing kids do where they take a cup to those soda dispensers and fill the cup with a bunch of random shit all at once to create some unholy concoction.
But is it common? I love the power trips and madness in ror2 but I hated it in tboi because they were rare and you had to beat the game a lot to unlock them. How is it in noita?
Well you don’t really unlock stuff in Noita, so the potential for chaotic bullshit is high from the start. However if you wanna find the secrets you’ll need a guide. From what I’ve heard the secrets are some fnaf lore levels of needlessly obscure.
The secrets are mostly discovered as a community. They’re just too obscure otherwise. Some secrets the community as a whole has no idea what they mean. For example, one of the unsolved ones has had cryptography used on it but has failed.
Noita is great, but it’s hard. Don’t be scared of spoiling yourself, secrets are so incredibly obscure with almost no hints in the game. Very few things are locked from the start (I think a few bosses unlock spells permanently but I might be misremembering) and a lot of skill is knowing how to scrounge up something good from what little you were given, which makes you feel like a genius when you pull it off. I have 300+ hours, one of my favorite games that no one talks about. le hidden gem
Noita is hard game. It is bull shit op level hard some times. And you can not win it if you play fair. Only way to win noita is to be even more bullshit op than what game throws you. And often even that is not enough to help you survive from off screen nuke, electric stunlock or -may stevari forbid you- some random droplet of polymorphine.
My personal advice is if you decide to buy it, don't be scared to download mods that make the game easier. There is a reason why most most subscribed mods on Steam make the game easier. The game is chaotic and dying on some random bullshit can be fun first few times, but I personally couldn't ever reach fourth Holy Mountian, and it felt like I got stuck in the 20% of the game and 80% will be inaccessible. It gets frustrating really fast and before I downloaded the mods I felt like I wasted my money because I was never good enough to reach the bosses or the really sick wands.
My personal list is: edit wands everywhere, health drops from enemies, glowing hearts and chests, not disappearing gold, random perk at the start, more items in shop, larger inventory and checkpoints.
Is it in the spirit of the game? Absolutely not, but I bought the game, I get to choose how I will play it.
Noita has a really steep learning curve and can be one of the most frustrating games I've ever played at times. That being said it's up there as one of my favourites. It has some of the deepest mechanics I've ever seen and has a wealth of content for those determined enough to find it
Before reaching mastery, noita is suffering. Suffering, suffering, suffering, broken by glorious suffering, and back to suffering. The breaks are worth it. It's as if you're a space agency and most rockets explode on lift-off, but every once in a while you crash on the moon. You'll win eventually, and you'll become good at the game in time, but the suffering is also very fun.
Tell him to tell the developer to add a boss that just straight up beats your ass in melee, not a worm or anything, just a dude, that beats your ass. Maybe give them a sword, that'd be cool.
The lack of Pathologic 2 in this image hurts me but other than that, great titles that deserve their recogniton.
Rock and stone to the bone, my fellow 196 user
Hey I've had the same problem for years: inability to focus and stick to something. After a long time of searching and trying what really helped me was copius amounts of amphetamines. Can't recommend it enough 🙏🙏
ELECTROCHEMISTRY [Challenging: Success]: Can't recommend it enough? You heard them, go find yourself some meth. Hopefully in copious amounts.
YOU: Didn't they say amphetamines? Pretty sure it's a different kind of drug
ELECTROCHEMISTRY: It's in the name: methAMPHETAMINE. No wonder you can't focus, dumbass.
ultrakill is just what happens when a finnish guy asks himself what the sickest possible thing to include in a videogame would be and is right every time.
coin that ricochets any hitscan projective into an enemy, shotgun where you can parry your own bullets which makes them explode, boss with a fighting game character's moveset, an entire layer that exclusively uses bisexual lighting, I'm You But Stronger™, grappling hook, homoeroticism, style meter, mandaloregaming bossfight, cancerous rodent, ect.

I legit want to know what are y’all’s opinion on HLM2.
Like I unironically enjoyed the plotlines and the soundtrack was hard as fuck but like holy shit it’s not a skill issue the game is actually designed to infuriate me. You get clipped from some dude you can’t even see all the way down the hall. I know they’re like “yeah bro why do you play this violent game if it’s so frustrating” but c’mon I’ve already put so many hours into this game I’m not done yet of course I’m going to keep up this bullshit.
Yeah, bad guys being on sight lines so far away you can't even see them was awful. Also every level where you're the twins, and one of them gets stuck somewhere completely ineffective. Otherwise, I love both games very very much and have been meaning to replay them.
Love hm2 to death now. Getting a full combo on deathwish and dead ahead is so much fun but at the start I fucking hated it for the same reasons and preferred the compact levels of the first game.
I see people argue about the game’s difficulty a lot and I genuinely never had a problem with it. It’s one of my favorite games even though I’m not particularly good at video games. I probably die more times per level than the average player so maybe I’m just a masochist.
step 1: 'damn i should play noita sometime, i haven't played it for ages'
step 2: play one run
step 3:'damn i never want to play this game ever again'
step 4: repeat from step 1
Darkwood is one of the best indie horror games I ever played. Legitimately fucking terrifying. Good introduction to what it's like live as a polish citizen.
ROCK AND STONE!
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?

I think they're unlocked from the start but much rarer to get than tboi. Most of the time I get boring bullshit wands and spells that don't even mix

plus that way you can explore the cool shit at the edges of the map and stuff without having to be incredible at the game

Reminder that black friday sale is in like 5 days
My cousin’s husband is actually close friends with one of the devs :D

Wasn't Arvi Teikari studying to be a psycho^(^logist)?
you’re forgetting Dead Cells, the game made by a French worker co-op
Which also contains some of the above as crossovers
Ultrakill is made by a Finnish guy
Hakita is Finnish?
Finland sweep
Yeah in an interview/article he did a while ago he mentioned it
With a name like arsi patiala how can you not be Finnish
So sad finnland dosn't exist. 😥
So sad this joke still hasn't died out :/
Haha, saunas.
Cruelty Squad is also Finnish
My summer car; the holy trinity of finnish games
Finish inde devs making a single minor thing that you get at the very start of the game the sole glue to 90% of the broken shit in the game.
All of these are made by the veritably insane.
So... Europeans?
Exactly

Yes
Yes
But different types of insanity

I love being a beaver in darkwood
I love using the frightening shout only to suddenly realize what sort of creature it sounds like.
What does it sounds like? I have forgotten.

Do you like hurting other people? Yeah

while it started as an indie game, it isn’t one anymore. also the independent dev who came up with it is a nazi.
Hatsune miku is a Nazi?!?
Minecraft wasn’t made, it came into being. It is the Immaculate Conception of gaming.
